Topic: Forgotten Realms: The Unsung Heroes
Subject: Why is it so dark?

Linnix looks at the cave with suspicion.

"Is it just me, or does it seem too dark to be occupied?" She asks aloud.

When everyone turns to her (if they do) Linnix bristles slightly, "What? It doesn't make sense to me."

(Listen check for Linnix, this is for if she hears nothing)

"I don't even hear anything in there." Linnix adds after a moment, "Are you sure this is the right place?"

(however, if she does hear something, then this instead)

"Huh?" Linnix scratches her head thoughtfully, "That's wierd, it's dark, but there's something in there... odd... I'll think about it later, but what do you suggest Aelistae? It seems like you're the only one who can see in there unless we use a torch or something, and that won't help if we're trying to surprise it."

Subject: The Balancing Scales

Linnix heard the man's tale, and paused.

She closed her eyes, appearing to others to daze out, if they were watching. In actuality, she was weighing the situation carefully.

On the one hand, going after the ogre would be dangerous, and being lower on healing capability, the group would face the potential danger of having a person felled. Also, this would take some time, time that could be spent setting up camp, and getting an earlier start the next day. Finally, there wasn't even a guaranteed reward for their services. The ogre might have some valuables in its cave, but Linnix shrugged; there wasn't anything to support or deny that possibility.

Another thought struck her. They were already waylaid by bandits, with an illusion no less, what if this too were another illusion they were going headlong into?

Linnix frowns, it didn't look like there was much reason to go, but she considered the other side nonetheless.

On the other hand, she thought, it was likely that the man and his family were traveling towards where the group had come from. If that was the case, then they would know about the conditions up ahead, and it was quite apparent that the man would be too heartbroken about his loss to say anything unless they were successful.

Linnix raises her hand to her chin thoughtfully. Such knowledge would be quite beneficial.

The scales had turned up equal, a fair risk balanced by the possibility of useful knowledge.

Linnix sighs, leaning back in the seat of her cart comfortably; she hated it when things balanced like this, as they had when she first decided to take up this quest.

"Well, I'll see what the others do; if everyone's going, I might as well too." She murmurs.

Subject: Tough choice!

If I could I'd do it myself, that way I wouldn't get others involved, who would be affected by it in usually a malproductive way.
However, if it was something I just could not do on my own, I would have to ask others to help.
In the end, surviving is all that matters... because if you don't survive, there's no possibility of healing what was done.
It all depends on just what it is; you said 'war', but it can go to any conflict.

Choose wisely:
1) Wield a double-edged sword, a supernatural power that always harm both ways, both the recipient and the wielder, and perhaps also bystanders
2) Have the knowledge of how to use a supernatural ability, yet also know that if you use it, everyone else will know too (in other words, be the keeper of something supernatural, charged to not allow anyone else to attain/learn it, or even know about it; wielding it would let people know about it)

Subject: Yep

I'll do my best; this is really the first true campaign I'm participating in on RDInn, since I don't call an arena much of a campaign, at least in the way of character storylines.
I'll try not to alter Linnix's character too much, but Zonk didn't leave all that much for me to go on, so I do have to improvise some aspects.

Well, later!

Topic: Forgotten Realms: The Unsung Heroes
Subject: Linnix

Linnix looks on at the proceedings, viewing Aelistae in a new light. Before, she wasn't altogether sure what to make of the drow priestess, but now... now she understood, just a little more. And what of the new person they just rescued? Linnix wasn't quite sure what to make of her, and decided now was not the time to try. However, Barthelomew's words bothered her.
She had heard a few rumours herself about 'the Cardinal', but never realized just how... inhumane... the person referred to might be.

"How disgusting," She murmurs under her breath.

In the depths of her mind, she also wonders about the possibility of 'the Cardinal's' and her path crossing. Heh, a person who decides they have the authority to say what was acceptable, or not, and deal out judgment accordingly? How preposterous. It really ticked her off...
Linnix shakes her head, it may happen, and it may not; there's no reason to think about it right now. Right now, all that mattered was to get back on track, and maybe make up for lost time.

"Well, shall we get going then?" She asks aloud of no one in particular, gently urging Tock forward, turning back toward the road everyone was following previously.

A mate is someone who is near,
Someone to love and to hold dear,
Someone to encourage you forever more,
Someone to heal your pain and anything sore,
Someone in which you can confide,
Someone from which you will never have to hide,
Someone who will be your eternal light,
Which will shatter even the darkest night.

Unbeknownst to those who remain upon the ground, a set of wings beats above. The girl was just in the midst of wandering around the world, and had come here. Yet, in spite of her presence being felt, she could not be seen.
Watching the people below was interesting in a way, but she didn't know if she wanted to stay here for a while or not.
"Well, let's see what happens," The curious girl mutters to herself, "There's bound to be something interesting somewhere."
Hovering in the air, the girl remained to watch, and perhaps appear if she wanted to.

Seya > Team Kraken > ...

Struggling against the plants, Seya twists and turns, trying to stand. However, a chill befalls her, a nagging feeling, the unmistakable shiver of death's call. For her, time seems to slow as she glances over her shoulder, to see the incoming arrow.
It is too late.
She had tried her best, but it appeared it wasn't enough. Seya closes her eyes, feeling the pull of the earth and succumbing. A tear falls from her eyes as the arrow hits. It pierces her skin with a thud, herself not making any sound as she falls to the ground. Her senses fade, the last to go her sight, as everything fades, into black.

Round 3
Seya > Team Kraken > Attempts to extinguish flames

Seya's eyes dart open, the sensation of her skin burning quickly driving her to move. She rolls back and forth on the ground as fast as her muscles will allow her. When the flames subside, she lies on the ground, panting slightly. "Amin dela lye n'termara e dagorsina." She mutters in between breaths.

Topic: So who was your first?
Subject: Let's see...

After searching through my pile of old and now unused D&D char sheets, I think I've found out my oldest one.
If you go by the d20 system, which was the first system I played, my first character was an intellectual human soldier named Gen Kian Mera. She was involved in a one-shot mission, and hasn't been in anything since.
But, if you go by D&D, my first character was a Drow Rogue named Kenaria Jevaf Goerh, made for Sibelius's campaign (at the time).

She was raised into a family trained as either mercenaries (mainly assassins, which was for the male side of the family) or clerics (which was for the female side of the family). The assassins all named themselves Jevaf Goerh, in order to prevent anyone from distinguishing between a single assassin, and to continue their legacy. Kenaria took the name and the role of the assassin, much to the disgust of her father and brother, and was shunned by both of them as a result, failing to see their equal in her. She is in the midst of proving them wrong, as well as proving her worth.

The campaign she was in is no longer running, but I still have the character sheet, just to remember it by.
