Even before the ship makes it to the hangar, Kate quickly diagnoses the damage to the ship thus far, and afterwards runs a thorough diagnostics of the ship's components and hull. Even if time isn't of the essence, it is surely worth starting on the repairs as soon as possible.

Immediately after covering diagnostics of even the most minute problem, Kate quickly divides the other droids to work on separate tasks in the repairs, organizing them into efficient groups to ensure the quickest recovery of the ship possible. With the groups formed, Kate also gets to work as well, aiding wherever seems to require the most aid in the repairs.

It was a possibility to me; when does Tersoal disappear? Before or after the identification? And is the sword lost as well?

So, trust the d20 and I rolled.
1-5 would have been no identification, lose sword
6-10 would have been no identification, keep sword
11-15 would have been identification, lose sword
16-20 would have been identification, keep sword

I got 13, and so there you go...

But... if there's a chance to lose things, there's likewise a chance to recover things...

'Rosetta' is a strong gymnast and fencer, so melee combat is her forte so long as she has either her rapier or fencing foil. She is also good at drawing, and most notably has a Weird Delusion that is... well, bizarre.

Supernaturally, her strength lies in healing, and only healing (which is therefore quite strong because it isn't spread out among other abilities), but it'll take a while before she learns to accept that ability as part of her... or not... it's hard to say, depending on what circumstances occur.

Archetype kind of follows a fusion of the Weird One and Reluctant Hero types.

Topic: Auguries of Destruction - The Linsemptus
Subject: Disturbance

"I am not a guide." The dark clothed woman responds coldly, her barren tone sending a chill through the air as she sets her hood back. "My name is Xira."

"Setting the interruption aside," Mitsuru continues, "The enemies we will be facing are being called Linsemptus by the Scout, so that is the term I will use to refer to them by. I think that is all for now; we will simply wait a little longer for the Scout..."

A brief moment later, with the exchange of a pearl and a drink, Tersoal deduces the hidden quality of the old sword. Holding the blade before him, he reveals what he knows.

"Once each day, this sword can be used for a strong offencive strike. First, one uses the tip of the blade and draws a circle around themself or, in our case, around the party. Then, the wielder stabs the centre of the circle they just made and call the activation phrase. Outside of that circle will be a release of energy that reaches outward 15ft. What type of energy is decided by the phrase. Also, if the situation is dire, the phrase can be spoken and the sword plunged into the ground without drawing a protective circle, but there will be no protection from the blast. The energy needed to do this will make the sword innate for the rest of the day."

Words:
Random - Wave of Drop
Fire - Vulcan
Earth (equal parts bludgeoning/piercing/slashing) - Yarthkins
Electricity - Lanceor
Acid - Wryneck
Cold - Merrows
Sonic - Krake

((It takes one move action to draw the circle around oneself, more than that will require more movement; activation is a standard action))

However, no later than the weapon's ability is revealed, there is a magnified sound akin to that of glass shattering. Vision is distorted, with cracks seemingly through thin air visible to all, unmoving and relentless. Tersoal recoils from the crack in front of him, but trips and falls through one behind him, the sword flying through the air and disappearing through yet another. Yet, just as suddenly as it happened, it is gone, and everything returns to normal... with the exception of the now missing sword and Tersoal.

"Well, that certainly was interesting." Akihiko says coolly, despite his body being tensed and ready for combat, with his hands balled into fists and held professionally in front of him.

A voice, sounding almost like that of a young woman or older girl, is heard: "The deterioration seems to be much more erratic than I would have hoped."

The voice does not seem to come from any direction, except perhaps up, and looking up, nothing can be seen.

Subject: Heh, what? Want me to steal your cookie too?

It felt familiar, the way the person had grabbed Ocyari's shoulder. Kind of like the other times when Ocyari was barely caught snatching a cookie, and there's always someone to try to grab her from behind. Heh, they didn't know who they were dealing with. Still, at least the action made Ocyari feel wide awake now, alert and ready as a bit of adrenaline flows through her body.

"Princess?" Ocyari scoffs, "Yeah right, of what kingdom?"

Ocyari is smart enough to know she won't break the grip with strength, especially considering her relatively small stature, but that doesn't mean she didn't know what to do. Ocyari seems to run forward, and she grabs underneath the offending arm for a bit more leverage. Of course, with the hand this causes her to begin to flip, which is exactly what she intended. She brings one leg in as she does so, the other held outward to likely kick the man in either the head or shoulder. At the impact, Ocyari lets go of the arm, and kicks out with the other leg, catching the man in the chest. If the impulse knocks her out of the hand's grip, she holds out her arms to cushion her fall as she lets herself roll forward into a dive-roll, immediately ending the roll with a leap to a standing position. She steps quickly, trying to put as much distance between the two as possible, all the while bringing her bow out, ready to use.

((Breaking the grapple via escape artist check paired with a move to the centre of the group if possible while drawing her bow ))

Subject: You are not being very clear

Obviously Mundanes are out of the question, however, you do not address exactly where the boost goes. From your wording, it only goes to the strictly Gifted characters; Lesser Gifted and Bast do not apply. Please clarify.

Topic: Witchcraft rpg
Subject: Concerns...

You say you're going to give one type of character an extra amount of points, but how is that supposed to balance with the other types?

I'm sorry if I seem out of line, however, it makes me very uneasy; I can see there being a smaller benefit or boon that you might give, but something like this could very well unhinge game balance...

To better illustrate this effect, consider the following.

The Gifted traits as defined in the book (in terms of points) have:
-15 Attribute Points
-10 Quality Points
-25 Skill Points
-30 Metaphysics Points

Increasing the amount of points available by 15 and distributing them, and comparing the result to the Lesser Gifted type easily results with this:

-20 Attribute Points for both
-25 Quality Points for both
-30 Skill Points for both
-15 Metaphysics Points for the Lesser Gifted, 30 Points for Gifted

That is enough of a change that playing a Lesser Gifted becomes pointless, the Mundane type frowned upon (also due to the need for metaphysics), and the Bast type underpowered compared to the Gifted!

I suggest you either re-evaluate what you are doing, whether it will be to reduce the boon you wish to provide, find a better balance to the game by providing the boost to ALL character types, or eliminate the boost altogether.

Subject: Better move fast...

"This doesn't look good." Linnix murmurs under her breath as she quickly grabs her bow and arrows. If that explosion didn't alert the whole keep, she didn't know what would.

"Dylan, we have to move now!" She calls behind, just in case in the cart Dylan didn't see, although chances were good he still did.

Taking a leap off the cart, Linnix quickly runs after Aelistae and Intella. There is no more time for planning; Linnix only hopes that after infiltrating the keep there might be somewhere to stop momentarily to perhaps refine their plans more...

Topic: Welcome or Not!
Subject: Memories

Sen sits comfortably, her eyes clouded while staring out the window and into the sky. The conversation in the background, although merely in the next room, sounds as though it is a world away, only whispers to her ears.

She misses the forest, the one which holds her own, small house. Was it even there any more? Darkside might have very well destroyed it... it is a sobering thought.

It was said that sylphs are wanderers. Well, it is true to a degree, but as there is variety among humans and elves, there is variety among sylphs as well. Sen liked her house; she was content with her home, and after wandering she always returned. Well, that used to be how it was, until they came after her.

Sen shakes her head; it wouldn't do to dwell on it. If all went well, she could return home again, and even if her house was gone, she could always remake it.

Hmm... how many worlds has she visited? Sen chuckles softly; she had long lost count, as she had also lost count of the number of years she has seen. Her thoughts wander, thinking to the world who's plight is most similar this one. There are similarities, but it certainly wasn't the same. That world hasn't reached the end of its plight, Sen realizes, so, that would mean the crystal is still shattered.

At first it was thought that the crystal split into four, but the exact number is unknown. Sen thinks, No one witnessed the event, not even the Keeper, who had another duty that day. But the crystal, cracked and threatening to split, and the four weapons in the chamber, were gone. Because the physical crystal seemed to be cracking into four distinct parts, it is thought that only four are there, but who can say how many there are? It might be a different world, but I'm worried... if the parts ever became whole, what would happen to the parts?

Sen gives a soft sigh, continuing her train of thought, The one fragment I met... she was worried as well. It seemed as though they all took on a material body and soul, but being fragments they were all incomplete, yet they were all different. She told me that difference was enough to cause two of the fragments to go their separate ways from the others, because they seemingly could not work together. Yet, even if they came together to become whole, what would they become? Neither of us knew the answer to that question, and we still don't.

That is the Twilight Crystal's plight, shattered into Bellianae and the three others: Renata, Darkside, and Saracha... I wonder, what is it that Erishehc is part of? It might not be related, and yet, Erihsehc said he and seven others were part of a power, so what will happen to them if they do work together? I hope it's not the same, where parts may be sacrificed to form the whole... Sen thinks distantly.

Hearing Arturo politely clear his throat behind her, Sen turns, "Yes?" She responds, "Is there something you need or I can help with?"

Alright, that's really what the deadline was on actually: either an explanation, notice, or post to the game just to see if you were still there.

Post when you can, and hopefully we'll be able to get going... I'm also waiting on Kaelyn, so I'll try not to put up an actual deadline for game posts unless there's only one person missing. I think that's acceptable...

Well, there's something that I can do quite easily regarding their absence... I just never thought I'd have to do so in a forum game.

And yes, I don't see anything wrong with what you put Vilyamar... but I'd appreciate if you reacted to Akihiko, Mitsuru or the person coming up from behind the group (assuming they're facing Akihiko and Mitsuru); you don't need to, of course, since you did post, but maybe that'll spur Wrymsting and Hammer? Hmm...

I'll PM them and give them a deadline to respond (to the PM at least if they get writer's block or something)

The deadline is October 5th for them to respond.

NOTE: Responses received to the PM.

I also realize I have not responded to one question, and the answer is no, there is no 'Staff of Passage' in the armoury; a staff of that sort is not a weapon or armour in the conventional sense, and therefore isn't there.

"Well, it'd be better if I just stayed with the group, right? That way you don't have to wait for me to come back from the orphanage before going out." Ocyari points out, More like if they let me come back... she adds in thought.

After a little pause, in which Ocyari averts her gaze, she pips up again.

"Umm, can I ask something?" Ocyari asks, her voice hesitant and tentative.

"Are you all saying we should rest because you're tired, or..." Ocyari bites her lip; it probably would sound a bit rude, but well, it was on her mind, and she doubted she would get much sleep if it stayed on her mind.

Finally, she blurts out, "Or are you just saying that to make me feel better about being a hindrance to the group?"

Ocyari bites her lip; what was the point in asking that? They'd never admit it even if it was true. That's just the way grown-ups are... too overprotective of her and her other younger 'siblings'. Well, alright, perhaps some of the others are right to be overprotective of, but surely not her. Ocyari knew even she was protective of some of the other 'siblings'...

"Oh forget it." Ocyari blurts out, her eyes firmly staring at her feet, "Let's just find somewhere to sleep."

For OOC purposes, consider her intentions to be to leave to wherever the meeting place is, waiting for the others to either succeed or fail (she considers the latter more probable with the current circumstances, and is hence why she left in the first place).

Also going through her mind right now is another plan of sorts. She judges the plan to be just below 50/50 odds for success, and hopefully the picture might be able to be attained that way...

I won't elaborate here, because that would be kind of metagaming I think

Ocyari's eyes cloud over as she stares slightly. This was no good! She had to stay awake! Had to...

Ocyari crosses her arms, stifling yet another yawn as she pips up, "Well then, are we going or not? It's boring just standing here you know..."

Although the motion of crossing her arms makes her seem impatient, it is really just a cover for what she is really doing. Her hands subtly and barely move, and Ocyari bites her lip as she feels the two hard pinches she gives herself.

Stupid curfews. Ocyari bitterly thinks, I'd bet if I didn't have one I wouldn't be so sleepy.

Sen smiles warmly, "You should already know that I will go with you." she says, retrieving the gemstone.

A power divided into eight... that reminds me of that world... Sen shakes her head, as her eyes become slightly cloudy; it wouldn't do to remember that world. Of all the worlds she's been to, that one was... sad.

I wonder, what will happen to these eight... I hope it's not the same as the four from that world. Sen thinks, despite her attempts at not thinking about it. But, I won't ask; if it is similar, then it'll be difficult enough for him without bringing it up.

"I..." Sen murmurs, "I do have questions, but I know they will be answered in time, when they are ready to be answered."

"Exchanges shouldn't just go one way; if you have questions of me as well, don't hesitate to ask, for I will answer as I can." Sen adds.
