Ocyari scuffs the ground with her foot. It just wasn't fair. No one ever took her seriously. Oh, they can seem to be nice and say nice things, but in the end, it was always the same. 'No, you're too young.' Ocyari grits her teeth; she could just see that happening with this group. Well, it basically already has.

Well, next time she wouldn't merely volunteer; she'd go right ahead anyway without permission. Heh, I've done it already. Ocyari thinks, Then maybe they'll actually look at and consider me.

Ocyari's mouth curls slightly in distaste, Nah, unlikely; they'll just think I'm being stupid. I'll just have to keep doing it until they realize I actually can do something.

Ocyari bites her lip; just thinking about it ticks her off.

Since you posted, you're fine

As for where you're headed, the most likely place would be Wanqir... as there you'd be able to pick up a new weapon, and as it's the capital, you'd be able to deduce that if anything were to be announced, it'd be said and done there first...

Subject: I guess I'll finally put something in here...

When it comes to any system, there's bound to be flaws. This is true of anything, not just D&D. I don't know much about 4e D&D, (well, in truth my only knowledge really applies to 3.5e) but I guess I'll share my opinion.

Reralae's Disclaimer: the following is my own, personal opinion; I am not saying it's 'right', nor am I saying anyone else is 'wrong'. It's just what I'm feeling at this point in time

If systems are the 'pen and paper' with which we write campaigns with, and we don't like the style of pen or layout of the paper, we can always just make adjustments as we see fit. It may be inconvenient, but if the 4e system is better for some things, and just lacking in others, then why not fix it and add your own personal touches that you want? If you have the right players, you can even make what is initially a 'hack'n'slash' type system into a thorough world with in depth storylines and role-play. It's one thing to not be happy with the system for some things, which is understandable, but that doesn't mean it still can't be used. It requires a bit more work, yes, but that doesn't mean it might not be worth it. What the DMG and PHB and other books say in the end are only suggestions; as the Game/Dungeon Master, you can totally go against their suggestions and add your own things.

So, I guess I don't really have an opinion on 4e in it being a 'good' or 'bad' system; I just see it as a different toolkit with which to build worlds of fantasy, even if I have to add in some of my own tools

Topic: The Day They Woke Up on the Wrong Side of Reality
Subject: Wow... for doing nothing, I still end up with the highest posting initiative

Galen blankly stares at the oncoming skeletons. There is primarily no course of action he can take at this time, and so he stares blankly into the 'eyes' of one of the skeletons, his eyes misting over as he thinks.

He lets go, feeling his soul's feelings. Among them he finds anger and hatred; that would be Darkside. It exists, but it isn't right. Galen holds his hands up to around the vague location of his heart, opened and cupped, as though they were holding an orb of some kind. Regardless of whether it occurs in reality or not, Galen closes his eyes and visualizes the anger and hatred being drawn to that area between his hands, into an orb of dark emotion. He imagines it being contracted into a physical form, and closes his hands as it does so. A blood red crystal, that is what he imagines. Then, as he grasps it, he imagines one of the magic circles he had made being etched into the face of the crystal, glowing a contrasting royal blue upon its red surface. When that's done, he imagines it as a pendant he is wearing, and lets his hands down to his sides.

It is a seal, a mental one at that, and it is only as strong as his will, but it is better than nothing. Hatred and anger are such useless emotions. Galen thinks, In the end, they only serve to make things worse. They just shouldn't exist.

Ocyari raises an eyebrow with the immediate shushing of her.

"You're all just ignoring me aren't you?" She says accusingly, "Do you think I'm just some little pip squeak who can't do anything besides tag along like someone's dog? There's a reason I'm such a good cookie snatcher, as well as why I'm here you know!"

Angry, Ocyari stomps over to the wall and sits down with her arms crossed, pouting.

"I should just do the stupid test anyway," Ocyari grumbles.

Her armour; not her cloak. She hides the daggers specifically in the sleeves of her cloak.

Also, it's not half-moon, it's crescent moon; they aren't the same

Topic: The Inconceivable Crusaders -- Recruitment
Subject: Jevaf Goerh

Jevaf wears relatively form fitting leather armour, tinted a purple shade by unknown means, and also wears a purple cloak which she often wears with the hood up, keeping her face in shadow with only her long, silvery hair flowing out from it. Her yellow eyes pierce the places she gazes to, and appear cold to any who look into them. The sheathe at her side holds a long, slender rapier, while upon her back lies a bow and quiver. However, even if she puts these aside, she is still armed. Her two other weapons lie hidden within her sleeves: two elegant yet deadly daggers, seemingly carved out of the metal rather than smelted into shape. The blade and handle curves, forming a crescent moon shape, while the guard is a second crescent moon overlaying the other. Jevaf's clothing is plain, with no true identifying marks, yet on the middle finger of her right hand is a golden signet ring bearing the emblem of a dagger made out of the very air itself. She carries another ring as well, however this one is not as ornate, worn on the index finger of the left hand, and only appearing as a metal band with an engraved pattern that, when examined, appears to weave about the band endlessly.

(the 'j' is pronounced more like a 'y' in her name)

Ocyari pouts slightly as Miran makes her stop her fun, but her ears perk up (if they could) when the big man mentions stealth.

"Stealth? That's like hide and seek right? Well, the hiding part anyway..." Ocyari pips up before trailing off.

She remembers just the other day, when the small group of children that included her decided to play hide and seek. Needless to say, they weren't able to find her as she was skillfully hidden in a dark corner under the kitchen sink, playing and whispering with the spider that had taken up residence there.

She looks at the others, "I can do that." Ocyari says simply.

Subject: Protocol-type medical droids? Pif, Astro's are better

Kate quickly comes to a halt. Quilla seems to have taken considerable damage, so that had best be healed ASAP. Going against her first course of action, Kate treads right back and up to Quilla as quickly as she can.

(Provided Kate has the time needed for this)

Running medical treatment v1.3 program. Kate's output spool shows for a brief second before a large number of calculations and figures replaces it. From one of her frontal compartments, a rather unique arm appears. Unlike ones manufactured by KTI or other droid companies, this one appears to be nearly made from scratch, but also with joints that allow a flexibility beyond even that of a medical type droid. At the end of the arm is a cylindrical type object with a soft cloth pad at the end of it, and parts within it can barely be heard as they rotate and assemble. After this stops, Kate quickly, but gently, presses the end of the cylinder against Quilla's body. Barely anything can be felt, from the cylinder at any rate, but as the selected components of medical compounds flow through Quilla's body, Quilla does feel strengthened by them. (Hopefully)

((Treat Injury vs DC 15, if successful heals 7 points))

Afterwards, the arm slides back into the compartment from which it came.

Subject: Defensive Actions Advised

Kate quickly assesses the situation, then modifies the simulation of what she had previously thought out. Clearly time couldn't be wasted, and so while she assesses the situation, Kate also opens the hangar doors right then rather than wait for later.

After opening the door, or finding out this port doesn't have access to the door, Kate disconnects from the computer port at the same time as reading her new simulation.

Primary objective will be to get to the ship within the time alloted; however, without means to communicate to the organics, there is a high probability they will remain to try to take a stand rather than advance. Kate reasons, Insufficient data regarding the opposing droids. Best course of action would be to move out; discovery is imminent regardless of advancing or falling back.

(Assuming the port by the door is the one to open it and not the one Kate is currently at)

Opening the bay doors is priority one; the action of doing so will likely spur the organics toward the best course of action.

Kate exits the 'closet' and heads to the next port as fast as her little treads can go, using what cover is available. Illogical? No. The rash action has a high probability of getting the desired results. Once again, the best and worst case scenarios have been analyzed, the probability of the desired result assessed, and in any rate it would mean Kate wouldn't be cornered in the 'closet', where she wouldn't be able to do as much.

Sen searches through the bag, from the prettiest to the least ornate gem, and finds their truth. Not one of them appears black to her eye. That's good. Sen thinks, relieved, At least I can be sure of these, if I can't be sure of anything else.

Sen closes her eye, then mentally ends the spell. Opening her eyes, she takes the bag, and then puts it back in her own. She flies above the city and waits, the three stones she were to use in hand: one to see the proceedings clearly, when she hides away from its view, one to initiate the stasis, and one to teleport.

But what if they don't hang him? Sen suddenly thinks, Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something else; we're not all that informed about what path they will take.

Sen grits her teeth, an uncommon notion for a Sylph, Well, in that case, I will have to improvise.

Meaning misinterpreted. Kate realizes with Quilia's motions. Likelihood of further misinterpretation with attempts to correct it is greater than 75%; silence is advised.

So, ignoring Quilia, Kate opens the doors in Lelian's path, and once Lelian enters the starship, Kate will open the hangar doors.

As the party makes their way to the Heart of Darkness, with the ever increasingly formidable atmosphere, Ocyari begins to glance back and forth at a faster and faster speed, her eyes looking to pierce the shadows and the darkness. It isn't out of fear, for Ocyari seems to actually be excited. She never really got to stay up this late, and she never got to wander the city before, so this was a truly new experience for her.

"Not that pretty here is it?" Ocyari murmurs to herself.

The shadows flicker with the flickering lantern light, and Ocyari watches them, slightly mesmerized by the sight. Then an idea strikes her, and she holds out her hand, beginning to make shadow puppets. She giggles at her efforts, producing a bunny among a number of other things.

Things at this point look rather grim for the group. Recalling with remarkable clarity the fate of the guard just before who was felled by a similar attack, and Okron before that, things had to be brought to an end fast.

Viis continues playing, hoping for the best situation to come, all the while hopefully aiding his companions.

Charlet, taking no chances, quickly casts a displacement spell, causing Sable's form to appear elsewhere.

It is Ignis, however, that rather than improving Sable's defence, continues her offencive. "Magic Missile" She calls as she unleashes another three shimmering bolts of force. However, only the first would be needed, as it tears through the Linsemptus Scout's head, with the rest of the Scout's body dissolving into mist.

I'm thinking of doing a major update where everyone comes into Wanqir at the same time, and also realizing PC to PC interactions (finally!).

However, for that to happen, I'll need Hammer to do something, or do you think I should go ahead and just take over his character temporarily to get him to Wanqir, or drop him?

Also, for Wyrmsting, unfortunately I won't have an update for you until later, as you're not going to run into anything for a while (until the group is formed and so forth).

Well then... good luck!
