Subject: The Folly of Conflict

When the Light doth pierce the Dark,
Some of the realms celebrate,
Rejoicing as their force wins with their mark.
But it is not to be their victory; it is not their fate.

Then as the Darkness smothers the Light,
The other realms rejoice.
But as all realms take to their sight,
They fail to see the influence of Anger's voice.

Unbeknownst to all those who fight,
Victory is not without its price.
As loss adds to Anger's might,
Turning their hearts as cold as ice.

Why must people fight?
These conflicts only hasten the end,
For neither will win; not Darkness or Light,
And the results will be impossible to mend.

In the end, Light and Darkness have equal might,
So in their folly, in their rage,
They will destroy each other, and the entire site,
Ending all things; nothing will be left to age.

Subject: The Fake Real

I close my eyes, opening my eyes.
I become deaf only to hear something new.
I lose sense of touch, feeling the grass in the sighs,
The ooo's and ahh's of the wind that isn't true.

But if it isn't true, then why is it so real?
I wander around at a gentle pace,
My feet lightly padding along the grass I feel,
As I dance in the field, with complete grace.

Then a low grrr; the thunder behind,
Looking back across the plain, I can see the storm,
And a warning rings clear, in my mind.
The wind whistles faster, and is no longer warm.

I run away, seeking a safe place.
Soon, I come across an old, stone bridge;
The stone is cold under my feet as I cross with a swift pace.
But I can still hear the rain beyond the ridge.

I come to a stone cathedral; such a good find.
The organ within is playing its soothing sensation,
As I enter, the stone door closing behind,
I see I am alone; the hall is in simple stagnation.

I approach the alter at the end of the hall,
And here I lie, listening to the simple tune:
The sound of the organ's continuous call.
Here I lie, oblivious to all in the noon.

My eyes close, showing me what is in front.
The sound fades, as I hear my name being called.
the feeling of the stone disappears with a simple punt.
I wondered which feeling was real as I stalled.

Subject: Crystalline Hearts

Stone hearts hidden within us,
True only to the one who is thus.
Sometimes beautiful, even regal,
But some cracked or simply feeble.

Changing as we do, growing evermore,
As unique as us; they are our core.
Reflecting our souls unto ourselves,
Yet hidden in our dusty shelves.

Then, it is what we have to find,
Despite all the blocks of the mind;
For without, the soul is hollow,
Especially without something to follow.

But with the heart, all things are clear,
For the soul is whole, and there is nothing to fear.
But perfection is a hope that is vain,
And trying for it will only bring about pain.

Stone
Not so much cold as it is true,
It simply is
No matter what else is due.
Thus are our hearts, they are what they are,
Despite what others would do by far.

Subject: A Mate

A mate is someone who is near,
Someone to love and to hold dear,
Someone to encourage you forever more,
Someone to heal your pain and anything sore,
Someone in which you can confide,
Someone from which you will never have to hide,
Someone who will be your eternal light,
Which will shatter even the darkest night.

Ever reaching for something beyond our grasp,
Our plight holds longer than an everlasting clasp.
As the target hides, just out of sight,
People continue to aim, despite it becoming night.
Flowers will sway in the unceasing gale,
Aiding the travelers who use a true sail.
One doesn't dare to stop, or fall behind,
And so the strings of fate will ever be entwined.
Waiting now, for the chance to go ahead,
Just be careful, and watch what is said.
Haste without waste isn't possible in the plight,
And one cannot go back once one has entered the light.

Some people have seen, others have not,
My words of life that my mind has wrought.
I am from the night, and I am from the day,
In the middle I stand, unknowing what to say.
Look, but do not touch, these webs of speech,
I only hold them out within an arm's reach.
In time I may even tell the poems deep within my soul,
But for now, you'll have to make do without the whole.

Sen nods, and within a mere blink, becomes invisible once again. She flies after the group, keeping her distance by staying far above them; there is no point in giving anything away.

In her mind, she runs through the incantation of the spells she'd have to use... it would be tricky, but she remembers... she has done harder spells before.

Still, she was taking a big risk. A spell of this magnitude may alert... them. Sen's heart rate increases as the fear enters her mind. No, she would try anyway, and if they showed up, she'd be the target, so she would have to run.

It seemed, whenever she became involved with another world's destiny and time, they would follow her. They always followed her, and Sen is growing tired of running.

Subject: A in C major

As Kusardo glances up and down, seeing which path may be more profitable to follow, Kiku once again knocks off three more chim-chims for her to snatch. She takes the spheres from the first two, but actually catches the third one, holding it in her arms as its feet run uselessly on the air below it. The paths seem identical to Kusardo, but perhaps that's because his vision doesn't go too far along the paths before it fades and is incomprehensible.

"Aww, I was wondering if this command worked. A chim-chim would make a good pet." Kiku says, holding her new 'pet'.

In the return back to the center of the room to determine where to go, Kiku finally takes the chim sphere from her chim chim, and it disappears in a puff of smoke.

Kimono in the meantime, kicked the remaining mushroom in the room, and acquired a Healing Drink. However, as the trio reaches the center of the room, it is heard.

Faint, yet strong enough and peculiar enough to stand out of the background music and sound effects, a note is heard. It is almost like a bell tone, with one single strong beat, before fading away into nothing.

"A." Kiku says automatically, "C major, I think."

Kiku suddenly freezes to the spot as her player puts down her controller for a second, and a flute is heard, playing a single note.

"Yep, I was right." Kiku says, her character reanimating as the player returns, "A in C major."

OOC: Well, I could... I think I will if truly needed, but after you post your reaction, I think it'd be easy enough to just wait for Kaelyn to return. I think he should be back soon

Wanqir City
1 minute after Twilight

When Twilight struck, it tolled hard upon even this city, the epicenter of Tiancann. Guards, even though they are among the more elite and best trained, still were at a loss after the initial impact.

It is barely seconds as Dusk is heading to the inn, with the guards still stunned, when suddenly a voice is heard throughout the city, despite sounding from the north gate.

"The Scout has come!"

The guards, before too stunned to do anything, jump into action, comforting civilians and ushering people inside. People do not get ready for the night, however, and as Dusk enters the inn ready to sleep, the innkeeper gives his own advice, even if it is unheeded or unnecessary.

"I'd suggest staying up a while; there's bound to be an announcement at the city center any moment now explaining what has happened." the man says softly.

"Oh, you can use them for many things... usually regarding machinery in The World. In dungeons such as these, they're usually used to open doors that are closed. However, particularly in Carmina Gadelica, they're used for other things. I don't know much myself; I haven't gone to Carmina Gadelica in quite a while." Kiku replies, "I think I'll go with Twin Lightning at some point though."

Seeing another trolley with a trio of chim chims, Kiku flips the switch again, and grabs three more spheres.

Ocyari sits at the crowded table with her cup of milk and wonderful dish of sea kitty.

"This is yummy!" Ocyari says after she has a bite.

So, it's more like fish than like chicken... oh well! I like fish better than chicken anyway! Ocyari thinks to herself, continuing to enjoy her plate.

Her eyes wander over towards the kitchen slyly. I wonder where they hide the cookies... She thinks, before shaking her head, no, concentrate! Focus on the conversation.

... but I do want a cookie.

“I am afraid I don’t know how I can help you. I just returned from a job outside Drefast, so I have not been exposed to a lot of gossip or something.”

"Oh!" Ocyari says, thinking aloud, "Let's see... when you came back, was there anything that seemed different here? Oh, and tell me about where you went! I haven't been outside the city at all."

Not that I am even allowed to get out of the orphanage often. Ocyari adds in thought.

"Oh wow... this is neat!" Ocyari says, twirling and tumbling around, just to see how the slight shimmering follows her.

She also notes that even though it stays with her, it doesn't encumber her at all, and her landings seem to be cushioned slightly by it; her hands don't seem to directly feel the impact of the ground beneath her. After cartwheeling around the group, along with flips and other assorted gymnastic routines, Ocyari lands on her feet, with her arms held straight out.

"It's pretty." Ocyari says simply as she continues to examine the shimmering effect around her.

Seeing the few people there beginning to get ready to move the dead cat, Ocyari shies away slightly, "Sorry, I can't carry or push much; I'm not that strong."

Hearing Jonah's classification regarding her, Cindi bursts out laughing. Eventually she manages to force herself to stop, waving her hand as though to brush it away.

"I'm sorry, I find classifications and technical terms regarding one's psych quite funny. It's quite amusing, how through such terms, people think they can understand the mind and people's behaviours. Isn't that strange? People seem to have the uttermost desire to name things they do not understand, just to give them the illusion that they do understand it..."

Shaking her head, to clear her train of thought, Cindi returns to the topic of discussion.

"Hmm..." Cindi looks at Jonah carefully, "I see then. So, the only information you possess is regarding who we were. Even so, does that information alone not yield anything regarding capabilities? Why not say what we can do, based on deductions from who we were?"

"I do not understand your insistence on separating the two. They are irrevocably linked, as a flower is linked to its stem. Even if you have just the stem, you still can determine what the flower would be like." Cindii holds her hand forth, as though holding a flower's stem, and rotating it carefully.

"Or, is it just that you are incapable of determining what the flower is, and are convinced that alone, the stem is therefore redundant? Undoubtedly, it would be slightly difficult if you do not know where to begin."

Cindi sighs, now drawing a vague shape in the air with her fingertip, "If you grasp the outline of a void, it will gradually become clear proof of the real image, so long as there is something to go on. However, think about it. If you know the core, you can legitimately guess at interests and hobbies and so forth that would determine skills and specialties. Occupation also dictates other skills that are possessed. Aptitudes and so forth can then be determined, and then preparation is far easier, and tests to verify the existence of the skills could be thought out and administered."

"As for her..." Cindi motions towards Hank, shrugging, "That is now only something time can tell. I wasn't going to take the chance, however, given the circumstances, I cannot change the situation now. It is pointless to fret about past actions, as they cannot be taken back. The event cannot be reversed so as to never have occurred, is what I mean anyway."

Cindi looks over at Chris, "The notion is amusing, however, because he hasn't shown any reason to kill him, it is pointless to wave the gun around to see if anything will happen. At the very least, it would likely be a waste of ammunition."

"So then, are you going to come up with a real argument, or are you just going to admit you just won't say anything?" Cindi asks of Jonah.

Kusardo kicks open the chest, the hands of his player suddenly tensed with anticipation from Kimono's warning, but the chest simply opens without any foul play.

[Kusardo has obtained 1 Simple Bracelet!]

"Um... what are you doing?"

The question is asked by Kusardo hesitantly, and Kiku replies even as she snatches the other two Chim Spheres.

"Gathering Chim Spheres." Kiku says simply, "Just in case we need them later on... in dungeons such as these, you usually do."

A Dark Lady? Linnix thinks, her eyes closed as she smiles, yes, now I am.

She reaches her hand forward, and more words come to her mind, from memories before. It was only recently, yet it feels so long ago...

L'Alure, L'Drathir, L'Killian – The Dance, The Moon, The Sword

It is called l’assajre among my kind. To see and feel moments of our past so vividly that we believe we are there.

There is nothing you can give me that will repay the pain we have suffered. You cannot buy back the time stolen from us with gold or baubles, only by taking your life will we gain back but a portion of all that was robbed of us!

How can you be so cold, Linnix? I know you had your differences with Kas, but she and Loriel were both part of this group. And while you may not have been close to either of them, I would have hoped you would have enough of a heart, and simple fellow-being compassion enough to at least feel something at the needlessness of their deaths!

I... don't belong here. A selfish person in the midst of an unselfish group...

It was gone. She was gone.

Yes... moments of regret, moments of happiness, moments of sorrow, and moments of anger... Fragments of Agony, Sorrow, Hatred and Despair. Crystals of Hope, Happiness, Healing, and even Love.

With her hand closing around Aelistae's, Linnix opens her eyes, and lets go of the Fragments. She has changed, and will continue to now. In the shadows beneath the moon, she will follow the light of it, just as her sisters do.

"A linath lu' killian." Linnix murmurs, nodding. It isn't simply repeating the words, for she finds that she begins to understand them as well. It isn't perfectly clear, and she doesn't know the entire meaning, but that will come, given time. In using these words, it feels... right, even though she has never used the language before.

"Trust me, I don't intend on dying, and I won't die easily." Ocyari replies.

Something feels a bit different though, so she holds out her hand, turning it slightly. There! Just barely off of her hand, there can be seen a slight shimmering, almost like heat waves in the air.

"Umm... what is this?" Ocyari asks.

Hearing Paomallen's thoughts on her staying, and actually being a part of the group as being officially sent by Ormander, it is all Ocyari can do to keep the grin from her face. Thank you so very much! She thinks smugly.

"Alright, so, since that's settled..." Ocyari begins, "We have to deal with a dead beast now?"

"Oh whoa..." Ocyari murmurs as she finally sees fully the monster that did the damage to Pio.

Looking back over at Miran, she calls, "Y'know, you could've just told me to look at the cat rather than saying 'something bad'."

Ocyari examines the creature, viewing it from different angles, seeing its strong, muscular toned body and its deadly claws and teeth.

"Umm... would it taste like chicken?" Ocyari suddenly asks.

Seeing everyone turn to look at her, she blushes slightly, then adds quickly, "Well, it looks like a chicken from this angle!"

She fidgets nervously, then adds, "Well, we could always bury it I guess... isn't that what's done to dead bodies?"

Kimono draws the casting ring away as she runs from it, and it relentlessly pursues. However, by this time, Kusardo has reached the casting goblin. An upheaval of stones from the ground effectively portrays the power behind the attack, and that goblin is no more. The final goblin, in between the two attackers, begins another casting ring at Kimono, however, by the time it starts, Kiku has used her own skill trigger, and a much faster magic circle catches it.

"Rue Krutz!" Kiku calls, impaling the goblin wizard with a volley of icicles. The words 'Elemental Critical' appear in blue as they hit, and the goblin instantly dies.

Current Morale Gauge: 14%

Golden numbers indicating the group's EXP gains flash over their respective characters. Kiku gains 120 EXP, Kimono gains 210 EXP, and Kusardo gains 240 EXP. (I forgot to mention this in the previous area, but you also get GP as well, which is twice the amount of EXP you gained)

With another two Repths from Kiku, the party is ready to move onwards at full health.

"Oh! Mushrooms!" Kiku calls, running over and kicking up one of the mushrooms in the room.

[Kiku has obtained Smoke Screen]

"Well, this'll be handy if we need to run from a monster or PK." Kiku murmurs over Party Chat.

There is one other mushroom in the room, as well as a treasure chest. You have come from the west, and you can go either north or south through the tunnels. Also, on one of the walls in this room, is a small track that goes into and out of the wall, and after a moment a trolley with three purple, round things with four legs, wide eyes, and a symbol on their front that have a blue sphere balanced on their head whiz by. There is a switch next to the track, and when you stand next to it, you are given the option to press it.

Kiku stands next to the track expertly, waiting, timing, then she presses the switch as the Chim-Chims pass by. A billow of steam lifts them off the trolley and into the room, where Kiku then runs after and snatches the spheres off of their heads. Once she does that, the Chim-Chim she takes the sphere from vanishes.

[Kiku has obtained 3 Chim Spheres]

She giggles, "It's fun to play tag with Chim-Chims too."

"There are people who would say so," Cindi says in response to Jonah, "and it is true that who we were is no longer important as 'we have been blessed with a blank slate'."

Cindi exaggerates her notion with a sweep of her arms.

"However," Cindi says sharply, "Personally, that is not the reason why I seek my memories. As of yet, we've done many things out of reflex. The accuracy, even if marred, of my shot, Chris's effective disarming of me." Cindi notably grits her teeth a bit with this sentence, "And likely other things I have not been witness to. My point is, these are latent. We do not consciously know what we can and cannot do. Memories are just an insight into that, providing us with knowledge of what skills we possess."

"Without that, we are, primarily, clueless to our capabilities. As such, if we are not careful, it would be easy to think we should have a skill when in truth we do not, and overexert ourselves because of that. Therefore, the knowledge of what skills we possess, as would be shown in our memories, is crucial. Do you not agree?"
