∞-1, due to the last being saved by wood conservationists

Lies, lies, everywhere there's lies, but they are also true.
The real lie, or the fake truth, which is true?

Just out of curiosity, where do scrolls come in? I presume along with potions, since they're also one-use

Oh, and Brianna, your answer's at the bottom of the previous page, just in case it's missed

Means that: one magic item that isn't a potion. Rings, Wondrous, Wands, Rods, Armour, Weapons, or Staffs.

Putting asides getting the name incorrect, I suggest you re-evaluate your position and the way you come across to other people. As it is, you're acting like an insufferable know-it-all that expects everyone to perceive you in the best light possible, when you have not given them any reason to.

Words are delicate. Well, not words themselves, but the manner in which they are used. Even if your intents are good, saying and doing the wrong things causes the situation to deteriorate rapidly. Don't think about how you want to come across; consider how one would react to what is said. After all, words are capable of more damage than any blade.

If I'm to understand what Grugg is intending... he'll be able to fill in the role of the powerhouse, just with the added plus of being able to duplicate himself.

I really like the cat one

Cats... helpful when their help is not required, and when it is, they're always busy.

If you have 'blinding sickness' and 'cackle fever' there might as well be a 'singing sickness'

Subject: Bizarre...

Meera's ears twitch at first, alerting Shianna to a change in the environment. After a moment, she hears it too. Singing, but it is off-key, and a bizarre form. Oh dear... I'd better diagnose... singing sickness?

Cautiously, Shianna stands up and walks toward Isaac, "Umm, are you okay? You haven't eaten anything have you? Like a berry? A red berry from a bush with 5-pointed leaves? What about purple polka-dotted red mushrooms? Have you had any of those? Umm... what about a rash? Have you gotten one from somewhere? Oh wait... don't tell me you've been drinking in some tavern have you?"

While Shianna talks through her diagnosis, she walks around and examines Isaac. Specifically, she looks at his posture; if he had eaten anything bad, it'd probably make his body shut down slightly. However, at the last question, she stops, her head tilted and her arms crossed, boring the question into him.

You might want to note that Linnix is proficient with the scythe now I'm pretty sure, so has +6 to attack

"No. That spider-kisser isn't my sister." Linnix says simply, and she looks over toward the form of Aelistae, "She is, and you'll find that she follows a different path than the other."

Concern returns to Linnix's eyes. What happened? She seemed alright a moment ago.

"On another note, I wouldn't bother with much in the way of 'material evidence'; items are items, and can come from many places. Messages of intent, perhaps you might be after such things, but I doubt she'd be foolish enough to carry those with her. It just sounds like an excuse." Linnix adds before rushing to Aelistae's side.

Subject: Oh shut up

"Just shut up." Linnix says sharply, cutting the woman's rant short, "So, let me get this straight. You are that stupid sniper from earlier that shot at my sister, moseying about like some thief, and you expect us to just stand aside and let you take everything for yourself when you're not one of the people who nearly died in this conflict? Who do you think you are? You have a lot of nerve, and no sense. It's disgraceful; my sister, what you'd call a drow, is capable of more courteousness and politeness than any elf I've met so far in my life."

Linnix snorts, "You remind me of this stuck-up woman who believed herself to be some sort of angel. Don't kid yourself as being some sort of hero; if you were so heroic, you'd be in the front line, paying for the reward with blood. Don't worry, you'll get your proper share, but nothing more. You do not gain without loss. One would think, having lived so long, an elf would know this. Apparently not."

Linnix takes in a deep breath, a sigh of relief. In her hand, the bow feels heavy, and its wood strangely rough. The arm of her drawing hand throbs with strain, seizing up and becoming stiff and sore. Weariness creeps up in the absence of adrenaline, threatening to pounce and overwhelm her. It had been a long night, and her body had taken more than its share of punishment.

Linnix quickly looks about, her hand reaching into her belt pouch and grasping the cold bone vial. However, the motion stops as soon as it starts. There is a stranger in their midst, one she had not seen at all during the battle.

"Hold it." Linnix says firmly, positioning herself in the elf's way, "Just who are you, and what do you think you're doing here?"

I don't have 'Slow Fall' for nothing y'know

As for how our characters meet... being hired by the same group is the easiest way to go about it. Otherwise, if there's a common interest between all of them, they could meet up on a blog or something, then group together that way. Or, they could all just end up at the wrong place at the right time, in an incident or something, then met each other that way. It really depends on how coincidental and probable or improbable we want it to be.

Shianna sits off to the side of the group, leaning against a lonely tree, her eyes distant as she scratches behind Meera's ears. She lets herself feel the mist settling upon her mostly still form. To ones who are used to the luxuries of the city, it would indeed be uncomfortable, but, in a way, Shianna is partially used to it. She has seen and been in worse weather, living in the wilderness.

How long has it been, since I've been indoors? Shianna wonders nostalgically, Or even in a city or town?

"Do you remember how long ago it was?" Shianna murmurs softly to her companion.

Meera says nothing, simply opening her eyes and looking at Shianna, who smiles in return. It is astounding how much can be portrayed through the eyes alone if one knows how to speak and listen through the eyes.

"You're right... it really doesn't matter now." Shianna replies softly, her eyes showing a bit of sadness around their edges, "Still, I wish things didn't end the way they did."

Meera whines softly, nudging Shianna's hand comfortingly.

"I know; things would've probably ended up that way given time too, but that doesn't matter now." Shianna replies, the sorrow around her eyes fading. How unlike me, to reminisce that distant past. In spite of the mist surrounding her, Shianna's eyes shine with resolution, The wild is my home.

With a look toward Meera, Shianna adds, Our home.

Subject: Jumping...

Is fine for me, since I land on my feet without a problem... probably not for the others though...

I still like the idea of it being the top of a skyscraper... it seems to be the most accommodating of the possible settings, and perhaps the easiest to get to... not to mention, it isn't entirely out of the question.

The other way I can think of involves the core of the facility being underground (or otherwise hidden in some natural feature), with my room being at the top 'floor', which is high enough for my character to get some sun...

Just my thoughts...

Try lounging space; my character IS basically a cat after all

So... rooftop, sunlight, things to climb, someplace for her to paint... she doesn't need/want much more than that.

As a side note, my backup character would want a bit in the computer department, so I'd like to keep that aspect of the HQ too... although it's not necessary; she can just have her own personalized and upgraded laptop after all.

I guess that's about it... so I'll leave it at that ^_^

Can we remove the login time out? It is very irritating when a post/PM disappears without a trace because your login simply times out.

For me, to make a name I'd like to know who everyone is. We could just have a generic name, but I'd like a name that fits our lineup. Who's the 'leader', as well? Are they appointed (by themself or otherwise), or do they just end up being the leader? I know my character is out of the question, so I won't even bother suggesting her.

But yeah... if I'm making the name, I need more information first

Subject: Regarding HQ

I'd prefer it to be somewhere out of the way, but with a sunroof (cat's law... I forget which number: Sun Worship)

In other words, I'd like it to look like just another business building rather than boast 'this is our HQ!'. That way it's not exactly hidden, but at the same time it seems mundane, so will bypass a lot of attention. I call the rooftop though!

Just my thought... and I'm fine with the permit; the less political headaches that have to be dealt with, the better

Not that my character would be the one to deal with them though
