Aurora will do a detect evil on the man, if he is not evil she will ask the others to help her free him. There was no need to release an evil creature, it would only make their escape harder.

Lorae nods to the Guard, "Can you tell me why you have everyone peace bond their weapons?"

"Fact is, Lady. We get lots of caravans coming through and lots of folk we don't know. There were fights and brawls and such until the city council passed a law to try and stop all that was happ'n. That's why I limp, I got a knife in the back of my knee a few years back. Now me and Ol' One Eye are relegated to the easy chair," and he pointed to a big orange tabby cat in the best chair in the guard house. I found him half starved because he lost an eye and could not catch his dinner."

The man sighed.

"Were there no healers to fix it?"

"We got bones setters and such, but no one could seem to fix it."

Lorae looks to him, "Please will you sit down and let me see what I can do?"

"Lady, that was years ago, how can you do anything about it."

"Not me," she replies, "but my Goddess."

He looks amazed that anyone would care so, especially an Elf. He goes to sit in the second best chair as Lorae walks over, pets the cat, and then kneels down and take the afflicted leg in her hands.

She rested his lower leg on her knee then took out the green jewel and set in in one hand then set her free hand on his knee and began to pray. Her words are not elven, but some other language entirely different (Celestial) and within moments her hands begin to glow of verdant green the color of life and living and healing. Her words of entreaty call on the powers of Tara to grant her restoration for the guard. The green glow passed from Lorae to the guard subfusing his entire body and leaps over to the cat on the chair.

As the glow fades the man sits there jaw dropped. "Lady," when he could find the words to speak, "I haven't felt this way since I was a young man." He stands and takes a step and then another.

"It's.......it's gone."

Over on the chair Ol' One Eye was sitting up looking at her with two eyes.

As he notices the others going to their horses to mount and ride out, "Here now, there's away to round the law. If your a merchant with valuables, you can have armed guards. That jewel by very valuable." He grabbed the book and notated a value of a thousand gold. "That will give you the right to ten armed guards."

Lorae smilled to him, "Thank you."

"No lady I thank you, being bound to a desk is the lowest pay level and now I can get back me, ol' job.

"Here, you go down the street to the market square. There's a big graystone on the left, That's the Wayfarers' Inn. Tell Madame Colman I sent you. Great food, drink, and clean rooms and beds. She even's got roof rooms for Elves and such who don't like ceilings.

Lorae goes to the door and calls out to the others as the man gets out some red cords for each of the group. He walks over to Lorae and hands them to her. "This is to mark you and your people that you can legally bear unbonded weapons."

"Lady, says the guard, "If you do not bond your weapon you have to leave it here. I can'na break the rules that affect all those in the city."

He looks to her, hoping she will be reasonable and then to the others of the group to lend their sense to the drow.

"Alexandria," Lorae's voice is low and gentle, "a ribbon, or a cord is not a descreation of you weapon, nor an insult to you Goddess. Were she to take umbrage to the bonding, she can undo it."

Lorae takes a cord and binds her weapon, Alexandria knows that tghe green glowing weapon with the strange wooden looking blade was a holy weapon.

The guard, an older man with a decided limp moved up to the group and set a book down on a high counter.

"Write yo'r names if ye can and then tie this round you hilt and belt." He eyes Alexandria as she made her declaration about her blade.

"Meaning no disrespect, Lady, but even Drizzt bonds his weapon when he comes by here. We try to keep things safe and the town watch patrols the streets at night. Though there are still thieves and muggers, so if you draw a blade to defend yourself, 'tis ok."

The guard watches as each person comes up to sign the book.

"Billy,.........NO!" but it seems it was unheard and Billy charged in the the fray. If they could keep the Shelnaks in a tunnel where only a couple of them could get at them at a time. She is almost in a state of panic, she was no fighter, she had a bless spell and that was it.

Her voice raises in the melodic prayer to Correlon to Bless them.

She swallows hard and then grabs her bow off her shoulder and starts to notch arrows readying to fire.

"I do," Bards were always writing things, so she quickly fished out the needed equipment and passed it out.

She then looks over the shoulders of the others. As she reads she finds her eyes tightening. The words of the wizard reveal pain. He had been living with some sort of tragic sorrow wrapped in the death of the one man's wife and later in the way he ended the feud. She had the strong feeling that the man killed himself, killed himself with the sword that had caused part of his sorrow.

Now the question was where he had done this. She begins to look about the room for any sort of area that might lead to another room. At the same time she tried to the think that if he didnot kill himself in the Tower, where he might have gone to do the deed.

One place came into mind, the well, for it would leave no trace of his body. It was not that far away.

One of the guuards prodouduces a lit latern and comes out to survey each of the riders closely. then reterns to the gate.

"Okay, give your names and information to the guard at the guard house, just inside to the right. Peace bound your weapons, the guard will give you a rawhide thong to do so."
He waved the group to go on through through.

You pass the draw bridge, still down, then under the gate house with its murder hold in the ceiling above you. The side walls are full of arrow slits and at the end of the 20 feet of stone tunnel there was a heavy wooden and iron bound portcullis. After the group came out of the entrance they faced a row of houses closely packed together. To the right there is the aforementioned guard house, easily identified by a number of guards standing and sitting around it.

The sun traversed the sky from east to west and was lowering toward the mountians to the west, their shadows slowly creeping eastward. Up ahead the weary riders could see smoke rising from over a low hill. Following the road over the hill they could see a small town with stone walls in a narrow valley with a slow meandering river running through.

There were guards on the ramparts and a trio of them on the ground at the gate.

"Who goes there?" one of the guards called out.

Description:

Tall, 5'11" fair complexion, silvery gold hair, Pale silvery gold eyes, ringed with a darker silver. She is muscular, without being muscle bound. She moves like a warrior, with confidence and without cockiness. There is something about her that seems radiants an otherness about her and an unmistakeable Aura of Good.

"Not a chill for me, but a welcoming, loving warmth. It was....it was nurturing."

She turned her head to glance at Alexandria, there was a glittering of tears welling in the bottom of her eyelids.
then she looked to Devon.

Alexandria was cooing to the dragonette she had rescued, checking on it as it rested in the haversack, "How is the little one?"

Aurora sat up groaning, shook her head and went to sit up. “Morninglord,” she put her hand to her head, a rock had hit her as she had tried to duck for cover as the earth quaked. Putting the pain aside she pushed herself up and found herself looking at the crumbled doorway and the door half off.

“Morninglord,” she repeated with a different tone, “you have answered my prayers.”

Stepping through the crumbled doorway she went straight for the cupboard where they had put her gear. For a year they had taunted her with its nearness, she could see her cloak wrapped about her things anytime she looked out of her cell. A long year of prayer for release during which she had even gone to wondering why it seemed the Larenthan had forsaken her. There were days of self-doubt and self-analysis, then other days of prayer and hope.

As she stepped out she noticed others out of their cells, but her attention was on her equipment. It took little time to slip on her chain shirt, buckle on her healing belt, buckle on her sword belt. Took up her shield and other gear and then turned to the other.

She did not detect evil and that was good, she had learned a couple of things about the place she had been put, it was good and bad. It seemed it was the a prison for all manner of beings, from all manner of plane, Good and Evil.

She untacks the horse and rigs a running line. An rope from tree to tree and then tied the mare to it, giving her enough rope to reach areas of good grass.

Lorae now turns to the tree. She reaches under her armor, and brings out a small highly embroidered pouch, from it she takes a what looks to be glowing gem, a ovid of emerald that she takes in the palm of her right handd and then places it against the tree. The glow intensifies to wash over Lorae, Brianna, Soronuume, and finally incompass the tree itself then radiated out to all the members of the party.

Game Post:

Brianna had experienced it before, just before they had bee sucked through the portal, but this time it lingered as the tree was healed. It was a loving embrace, a sense of each persons' favorite season, the scent of flowers and luxuriant green growth, whichever each individual preferred and with it all came a rejuvination of body and spirit.

(OOC: PC can describe there favorite idealic natural setting with all its attendent sights and sound. )
