"I am not so sure its ghosts, though draining someone is like what ghosts do. Yet ghosts do not take things, and that is what this man alluded to. Also--coming from the sea--that is different. Ghosts are usually tied to a place to do there haunting. Can anyone think of some other supernatural being that does the same."

"We need some more intformation, like what have the people seen and felt and heard? ANd what has been taken?"

Tamuril turns to look at the man. "We are your best hope to be rid of this problem, but it would greatly aid us if you can tell us what you know."

Never in her life has she fought like this. The entire event was wrong, even evil. A slow fire of anger built within her, that she focused into a pool of power. It was a righteous indignation towards the rulers of the land and the presmise it was run on. Not only would she prevail here, but she vowed to see to the destruction of what had brought this all about, The Dark Areana Consortium.

In the back of her mind she wonder what deity would gain such benefit of the Xenophobia of this land and the practices of this Arena. She wondered if the very sand they fought on was dedicated to some Dark Deity. So that the blood of the fallen would be as a sacrifice to it.

Such an idea only fortified Shandra's resolve, her intense focus and her belief in the righteous might of the Light would sustain her.

Shandra sees the wights s2 and s3 but does not think it is wise to break ranks and cross the field to attack them. She watches those ahead of her.

"Good Morning, Devon," Lorae ofters an unexpected smile and nod as her is introduced. As Devon returns her gaze, a twinkling of good naturedned mirth dances in her eyes. She certainly likes a oerson who will look her in the eyes.

As Brianna esplains that the young man was looking for directions to Tilverton Lorae nods, "Ahhh, another on their way to Tilverton, and there no Tilverton. That is still so strange to me."

As Devon is off washing up, Brianna reports on her morning events and by the time Devon returns, Brianna is telling her about the sick child.

"Save some breakfast for me, I will go see to the child now."

With that she heads off and cross the across the commons toward the blacksmith's shop.

Brianna had the right of it, though she had no idea as to whym Lorae had a very deep commitment to the wellfare of of children all children..

Lorae was waiting on the porch watching as Brianna lead the horses to the stable.

She waited until all the others were there, before going into the inn. She was suprised by the appearance of a strange young man with Xuor.

"Good morning, the food is ready on the table," she said looking the newcomer over, "Who is your companion."

Looking down on Devon is a tall figure of what could be thought of as the Quintesential Elf, even for an Elf her features were exotic. Emerald eyes, with gold raying out from a pale golden center sweep over Devon, or was the through him. Her face was a prefection of symetry with high cheek bones, winged brows over large eyes slanted in her face. It was hard to get away from her eyes, there was something about them.....sad.......old.....though her face showed not sign of age, but that was typical of Elves.

Subject: Elendil

Bartholomew watched with swelling pride as member after member rose to take a cloak bearing his court’s herald. While Elendil had taken a rather abrupt leave of absence in the middle of the meeting, Bartholomew couldn’t really hold that against her. She wasn’t of their party, and as the fair skinned elf exited from view, Bart could only hope that her service to her own people would still entail breaching the gap of communication between the two lands and foster some sort of relationship.

... A moment passed, and then another. Soon only the pacing of footsteps outside, and the plucking of Dylan’s violin were heard as those waited anxiously for something to happen. Elendil reappeared in the doorway a short time later, her eyes set with a determination, much akin to that look she had bore only a score of days earlier to aid the reclamation of this very land.

"My Lord," Elendil paused, how could she put this, coming at this time to ask to purchase a horse, but she could not rest until she had freed the mare, "there is a silver dun mare of Elven blood in the corral, I wish to purchase her." There was an intense look on Elendil's face. It had become very important to her to rescue the mare, maybe because she was a link to home, just as Talon, whom she had raised from a hatchling, the mare was a reminder of home. Home----so far away.

Seeing as they were still waiting on Firin, Bartholomew turned his attention to Elendil, somewhat surprised by the nature of her return. “Lady Elendil, if it be a horse you seek to purchase, that certainly can be arranged, for I have seen the fine stock kept here, and know surely of the mare you speak. While Lady Bronwyn is entitled to a replacement for her own dear companion, if you wish to procure the mare, I will part with it knowing surely it goes into the finest of care.”

Rifling through some papers before him on the table, Bartholomew came across the material stockpile and cost documents for everything that had been shipped to the former Outpost 13, on behalf of the monarchy. Running his finger down the checklist until he came across what he was looking for. Tapping his finger upon the page he looked up at Elendil. “One silver dun mare, one of her highnesses preferred stock it would seem,” Bart said with a smile. “Requisition cost, 300 gold crowns.” The mare has already been trained and bred to bare a rider, and is of pristine health and condition m’lady. If you seek to claim it, then pay merely that which it has cost the crown to give to us, and you may ride her out of here with my blessings.

“Thank you My Lord,” Elendil replies. “can you take her price out of the money that was awarded me?”

Assuming he agrees. After Firin arrived so abruptly and quickly gets to selling thing, Elendil waits for the others to make their purchases and then moves up to see if the remarkable halfling has an Elven saddle and bride for sale, it not she will purchase temporary common tack and grooming supplies from him, if it costs more than what she has on her, she will write a note to Lord Bartholomew to pay the merchant out of her award money.

With this done, Elendil rejoins Bronwyn. “Bronwyn I will be going out early in the morning, I have to get the evidence back to the Council as soon as possible, but I will be back. I promised to take you to the city,” she says quickly, not wanting the young mage to think she was leaving her. “If you choose not to join in Lord Bartholomew’s endeavors, I will take you on to the city.”

“Also I was just out with the horses, but I did not see too many small ones. When I reach the forests of Wealdath I will look to see if I can find you a suitable replacement for your pony.”

As the night wears down Elendil goes to Lord Bartholomew again. “Sir, I will be leaving early in the morning, I do not think the runner can carry back the box, so I will use the horse I purchased a take it back myself. If you wish to open contact with the Council, I would gladly carry a missive from you to them when I go. I will be returning even if they do not agree to me being their emissary as I am not of their forest. The reason I return is because I promised Bronwyn I would see her to the city. Though I do wish she would take your offer and stay here. She is very naïve.”

She goes on to tell Lord Bartholomew that she will be staying out with the horse so as to get a very early start in the morning, asking him to send the missive down to her before halfway between midnight and dawn, when she plans to leave.

Elendil goes to where she and Bronwyn have been sleeping and changes into a riding outfit. She will leave most of her stuff here, taking only a waterskin and trail rations for 5 days, rope and a few other things she might need. From there she goes out to the corrals and takes out a rope and goes to get the mare. She fashions a halter out of the rope and leads the mare out of the corral and off to the side by a wall, there she gathers some hay for the mare to eat and she begins to groom the mare, all the time talking to her in Elven. After a thorough grooming she gets water a bucket of grain for her, she would need the extra feed for Elendil was going to push for speed.

When the mare is content and relaxed Elendil casts her ‘speak with animals’ and asks the mare her name.

Large violet eyes turn to her. <> replied that mare. <>

Elendil spoke only a bit more to the mare before wrapping herself in her cloak and using the hay for her pillow went to sleep after the missive was delivered to her. In the wee hours of the morning Elendil woke, groomed and saddled the mare, lashed the chest to her saddlebags now filled with grain and went to the gate. Lord Bartholomew must have alerted them as to her intent to leave early for as she lead the mare to the gatehouse they open the postern gate, a gate large enough for a person or an unridden horse. Once on the road, Elendil settled into a ground covering trot, after that they cantered and then walked, as the mare walked, so did Elendil. And so they went back over the road through the Starspire Mountains. As the mare walked Talon would perch on the cantle of the saddle as they trotted and cantered, he would fly about. Elendil kept alert for the sound of any of Talon’s warning hoots.

I had thought a Runner was coming, that way I would not have to leave the group, but I will go with what you posted.

Anyway I will backpost to buying the horse with an added interplay with Lord Bart as to getting a formal letter from him to the Council to take back with her. That way he can make a formal request to them about having her become an emissary for the Elves of Wealdath

Mora moves up with to the frail child.

She goes over and kneels by the limp form. "Are you injured or sick" she asks with true sympathy, "Are you hungry or thirsty?" then she reaches out and lifts the frail girl (about the size of??) and carries her to the rock where she had been sitting. Mora slips off her cloak and wraps it about the girl.

"You just rest here, I will help you all I can."

So much for a dragon, she now wonders if the dragon was just a figment of the man's imagination.

"Is there anyone else in there," it did not seem right that such a young child was so alone.

Her heart was pounding at first as she approached the opening to the cave, but a series of breathing exercises enabled her to gain control.

Mora finds a convenient boulder outside of the cave with access to a safe way out of the area. She then sits down and take out her panpipes and begins to play. Descetion being the better part of valor she chose to stay in the open. she already knew how it reacted to the man entering the cave. The man had mentioned acid and that could be one of 2 types of dragons, one being evil and one good. If the dragon were still inside, by luring it out, she had a chance to see its color and then, hopefully, time to run if it was evil.

(OOC not sure how Linnus could extrapulate "dragon" from....cave now. If Mora becomes aware that they are being followed she will lose the man by leadng him off and shadow jumping and by using other skills of evasion.

Tamuril is saddened that they did not stop to stay the night by the see. She could see no reason for hurrying on, but that is what the group chose to do. she set her horse to follow the other and spent the rest of the trip, drinking in the sights, sound, taste, and smell of the sea.

At one point she dismounted her horse and handed the lead to Isilmiri and pulling off her boots, she waded out into the water to feel the surge of the water as the waves rolled in and out. She returned and grabbed he sock and boot from her horse, put them on the ran to catch back up to the group.

Getting to the town, she remained in a quiet reflection of her first experience with the sea.

As Isilmiri spsoke of a hot bath, she finally reconnected.

"That sounds good, we could save money and some work for those who must bring the water if we share a room and the bath," she added, "one after the other."

Elendil is surprised as the mare whickers softly to her and starts to turn, as she does the moonlight glints in her eyes and sensitive Elven eyes catch the flash of violet.

What was an Elven steed doing here? (She is Loriel's horse that she brought from Evermeet.) She coos to the mare and the silver dun comes to her outstretched hand.

"You are as far from home as I am," she speaks to the horse as if it could understand. Where is the one that brought you forth from Elvenhome? She realized that the mare could not answer that, and at this point she did not take to time to use the magics to communicate with the mare.

The answer to her questions lay back inside the great hall. Elendil headed back with a determined step she wanted the mare, if only to see she was returned home. A pang of uneasiness filled her, the runner who called her Lady just might have learned she was of Elven nobility. That meant she had been found and would have to return home.

Elendil drew in a deep breath at the big double doors and let it out before she stepped back inside.

It seemed the celebration had moved from the more formal ceremonies to the entertainment. She looked about and noted a number of the group with the new green cloaks.

Spotting Lord Bartholomew in a tete-a-tete she waited until he was finished and sitting back in his highseat listening to a bard sing the tale of the great battle to free the keep. She moved closer and waited till the song was at an end, and then stepped up to the man bowing.

"My Lord," Elendil paused, how could she put this, coming at this time to ask to purchase a horse, but she could not rest until she had freed the mare, "there is a silver dun mare of Elven blood in the corral, I wish to purchase her."
There was an intense look on Elendil's face. It had become very important to her to rescue the mare, maybe because she was a link to home, just as Talon, whom she had raised from a hatchling, the mare was a reminder of home. Home----so far away.

She glanced up to see the big eagle owl eating some rodent he had caught. There had been more than enough to feed him. Luckily, with the aid of a Druid of the Elven Grove, he had been trained to leave his pellets and droppings outside of buildings and living spaces.

Mora only nodded as the man replied, "Here's for another bowl of stew and bread, Have Hector give you a corner to sleep in and after I am done here I will meet you here in the morning. She tossed him enough copper to cover a second helping, for she gausge that he had spoken truthfully about what he had experienced.

The rest of he evening she sits to the side of the bar and plays her harp and pan pipes. Tonight was going to be a good night, with the Tavern filled with patrons.

Mora played sad songs and happy ones, love songs and songs of heroes, and then there were the drinking songs, the type everyone knew the chorus to, or even all the words and they would sing along. Such songs made for dry throats and that meant more drinking. If business was very good after a night of preforming, Hector or his father, the owner of the Taveern, would throw in a few coins on top off what the patrons tossed into her harp case.

Tamuril had smelled the change in the air for some time, it was tangy and briny, and invigorating. When the group topped the rise of yet another dune with scattered clumps of long sawtoothed grasses a whole new vista opened up to her.

The Sea, and she was mesmerized. Sunlight glinted of the water, the plantive cries of the gulls filled the air, and the spray off the waves drifted in the air. The Bard in her was awestruck by the sheer beauty and endlessness of the sea before her with its blues and greens and pale frothy foam. Small sea birds ran along the shore as waters receded pecking into the sand, others at least 2 difference species circled about overhead, on strutted about the beach in search of food, things tossed up by the sea. Clumps of seaweed gave of a nose-tingling smell.

When she can return to herself she looks to the others, "Please, can we stay here the night."
