Cerberus – Bridge – 0601 hours

Sienae and S'Talon stayed out of the way observing.

/--\\ We’re disconnecting the umbilical, Captain. /--\\

“Conf’rm detachmen’, Lieutenan’ P’Tammah,” Mac ordered in a steady voice from his seat behind ops control.

“The umbilical has been detached, Captain,” Vaela P’Tammah stated after pressing a couple of buttons on the flight control console.

“Stations conf’rm green status,” Captain MacTavish continued.

“Tac confirmed,” Rrowl growled from his post.

“Ops confirmed,” replied Lt. Amy Dixon.

“Engineering confirmed,” Chief Cameron added.

“Then, by all tha’s ‘oly, take us ou’, Mistair P’Tammah.”

“Aye, Sir.”

/--\\ “Good luck, Captain.” /--\\

Sienae watched the bridge staff, the veterans and virgins, so to speak.

“We’ve cleared the pylons, Captain,” Vaela stated as she continued to enter data into her console.

“Entair course, an’ engage, Ensign. Warp four,” Mac leaned forward slightly.

“Aye, Sir.”

Within seconds the ship leapt forward, the screen showing the stars about it lurching—the only indication that they were in motion—and then, the stars slipped into a plethora of white streams as the ship entered warp.

“We done here, Captain?” Hash threw protocol to the wind. “I’ve got a butt-load of work to do thanks to the incompetence of the engineering staff. Some fool decided to turn off an anti-grav dolly before removing his leg from the vicinity—idiot.”

The captain’s response was the signal for the ceremony of it all to end. The senior staff were free to return to their duties, or remain on the bridge as they saw fit.

“Congratulations, Captain,” Sienae offered as the ship went into warp. “Thank you for inviting us to join you for the launch.” Sienae then salutes the Captain and the bridge along with S’Talon,

Sienae then turned to The CEO. “Lt. Commander Cameron I do need to meet with you, say, 2 days from now, in the evening, that will allow time for things to set settled into a routine. I wish to discuss with you the modifications that we have made to the Cloaking Device.”

Cerberus – The Centurion’s Cabin – 1045 hours

/--\\ Lieutenants Khellian and Pardek, report to the Centurion’s cabin. /--\\

Sienae withheld her smile as the two promply appeared at her cabin within minutes.

“/--\\ Enter. /--\\ She commed to them. As they entered they saw The Centurion seated at the table, her chair half turned as she stared out into space.

“Sit down, we need to talk.” When they were seated at the table, Sienae turns from perusing the view from her window and looks to them. “So far everything has been running smoothly, but we can not be sure it will stay that way. I trust you two, along with S’Talon, I have come to know you and each of you has proved your loyalty and dedication. I want you two to do diagnostics on the CD every 4 hours and have the results officially recorded.” That statement meant that she did not fully trust the two other male Romulans in the group. “You are both well aware that there are factions within Romulus that would like to see this mission fail. And there are others outside of Romulus, as Rhiana knows my last ship was all but destroyed by agents of the Dominion.”

“I have a feeling that you two feel as I do. That it is time for the RSE to join forces with Starfleet to fight this menace to the alpha quadrant.”

(Replies and comments)

“Tonight I will be meeting with the CEO and I will want you there. I will be asking the he also do random checks on the CD. Much damage could be done to our tenuous position should anything go wrong with the CD. While you do your checks make sure you invite those crewmembers whom we have trained to be with you when you do so. I will be asking Lt. Commander Cameron to see there is at least one of the SF crew we trained on duty day and night.”

“When you leave here I want you to go to Engineering and do an Nth level diagnostic and log it in. Also, I got a memo from the CMO as to appointments for medical exams. Luckily they will not interfere with the scheduled diagnostics. Yes, Rhiana, now that we are underway I will go to see the Doctor.”

As for this afternoon at 1200 I want you to bring the CD for the Charon here so we can get it modifed, S’Talon will be doing the diagnostics at 1300.”

“I want you two to be alert, there could be Tal Shiar operatives on board. “Now you need to get to Engineering and get those diagnostics done.

Stardate: 2374.09.05
Cerberus – Centurion’s Cabin – 1515 hours

Sienae and the females of her team were just finishing closing up the CD and S’Talon, now back from his diagnostics of the CD was pouring out small glasses of Romulan ale and handing them to the others, keeping one for himself. “Here is to a successful joint venture.” He lifted his glass and drank the deep blue contents.

“Indeed,” replied Sienae tossing back the blur ale.

“This is yer cap’ain speakin’,” MacTavish said with a touch of grimness to his tone as he activated the ship-wide relay. “This is no’ a drill. Abandon ship wit’ pos’ haste. I repea’ this is no’ a drill.”

The computer’s voice took over from there, repeating the phrase, “Abandon ship. All personnel are to report to the ejection pods on their deck. Abandon ship.’

“Take the CD!” Sienae shouted and she grabbed up her PADD/computer. By the time Sienae, Shiarrel and Rhiana made it to the corridor shepherding the CD he was back with them with them. Together with their watchdogs they made it to an escape pod. It was cramped with the CD which the had to quickly lash down, knowing there were no grav dampeners on the escape pods. One of the SF security detail punched the button that sent them carreening into space away from the Cerberus. Beside getting their computers and the CD, S'Talon still had the bottle of Romulan ale.

/--\\Chirp/--\\

“This is Centurion Sienae i’Mhiessan Khnialmnae. I have with me Lt. S'Talon i'Iuruth D'mora,
Lt. Rhiana (ree-ah-NAY) i'Ramnau Khellian, Lt. Shiarrael i'Ramnau Pardek and the four security guards detailed to us, with us. We also have the Cloaking Device for the Charon safely aboard.” She paused, “Have you heard if the rest of my team has checked in? They were not with us when your command to abandon ship sounded.”

Sienae then passed the com to the highest ranking crewman of the security team so he could report in.

As Silvara makes one good effort to remove the candlestick from the pile by inserting her hand into the pile towards the candlestick to see if she can work it out through the opening her arm makes, Zora moves to cover her by stepping to a position where she can watch Sivara and the hole the rat went unto. At this point it was all she could do. She would have rather just left the room, but Sil had other priorities. And there may just be something important about this candlestick.

It came to her mind, that of all the years this place had been abandoned and picked over by looters, why was a expensive candlestick overlooked in one of the first level rooms. Yes there were the rats, but a strang team could have dealt with them.

Another thing bothered her and that was the body on the table. Usually when one dies they fall to the floor. How was it that he was laidout on a table, unless he came with a group and was lilled and his friend put him on the table to pick up later, but they never returned.

Xuor finds the availability of arrows limited, as the recent battle used up the stores of arrows. But he is able to fing some different hunting arrows and some sisgnal arrows. Back at the inn the bar maid is quite willing to come serve him, Xuor's handsome looks is more than enought to catch her attenetion.

Using his keen powers of observation he spies a slightly older gentalman sitting alone at a table that looked like it was out of place or had been moved to accomodate the man's wanting to be near a window. This made Xour believe that this man came here often enough to have his own table. So flagging down the barmaid once again he inquires to what the man is drinking and then orders one up. Then with his ale and a drink for the man he ambles over to the table and makes his pitch to get himself a seat.

"Excuse me good sir, my name is Xour and having been abandoned by my traveling companions for the day I am just looking for some good conversation about this fine city and you my good sir look like a man who is a storehouse of information about his city. I took the liberty of ordering you a drink in the hopes I might sit a spell with you."

He sets the man's drink down near him so he can see what it is and with a slight bow towards the gentleman waits for an answer.

"Well, sit yourself down, Ranger, my name is Jadar" says the man in a pleasant voice. "I've lived here a bit, I came here when I retired, but I know a few stories and some hitory. Just what sort of information are you looking for?" There is a keen look from the man, his gray eyes leveled at Xuor, sizing him up.

What Xuor sees, now closer to him and not having the glare from the window affect his view, was a man of later years hair almost silver from age, He had a well kept body, of someone who kept fit despite his age. By dress he could be any of the townfolk, except that at his side was an exceptionally fine looking lonsword.

Subject: Alea

They had been sorely pressed as night passed and morning came. Alea took out what grain she had brought with her. And shared it with all the horses. With the first hint of color in the sky they arose as if one to get moving as quickly as possible--driven by a need that did not need expression.

Following the ring the head to the Grey Mountains. The day was sultry and clouds arose quickly from the west of the Grey Mountains and boiled out into the plains they had to pass through to reach the foot of the Grey Mountains. Clouds billow up dark and ominous, blocking out the rising sun entirely. The wind picks up as the group was already on their way as the sun was just beginning to rise over the mountains.

When Sil gets off and jogs with her horse, Alea does the same. Not stopping to rest Alea will eat a piece of journey bread for lunch

“I believe that the worse part of this storm is centered just about where we make our first camp last night.” Sil comment.

Alea look back from where they had come, a chill seemed to fill her as she could see Sil was correct. The clouds were lit frequently with bright flashes of lightning observable even at this distance. “I am glad we decided to move from that place last night.” Siliwen added.

They are able to ride on through the storm making some slow progress, but at least they figure no one will be able to find them or track them as long as the storm rages.

After unknown hours of riding, the storm ends and they and their mounts are tired and worn. Never had Alea ever felt so drained,

The peaks of the grey mountains loom over them as they start up into the dark foothills at their base. They ride on, following the ring, until they begin to pass through some kind of ravine leading up into the mountains proper. The sun wanes lower in the sky and feeling exhausted they quickly find a place to camp among the crags where they have a defensible position.

As Sil looks for a safe place to sleep, Alea helps with the horses. She shares the last of her grain with them, they had been ridden long and hard with little grazing time. Perhaps they could find some moss or lichen for them later.

“I wonder if the Dark One can track me through the rock. They would take much longer to corrupt, well I hope they would.”

Setting up the camp, they have a small cold meal once again; some of their strength and will returning as they fill their bodies with the meager food they have with them. Even the mounts seem to recover some of their liveliness after eating some grain and resting.

Still fatigued from fighting the strange storm, the group sets their beds out and begins to find some sleep for the night shortly after sunset.

Alea finds a rock to lean up against, close to Siliwen and she wraps herself in her cloak and sleeps with her spear beside her, and her sword lose in its scabbard.

Unbeknownst to the rest of them. Thor has an encounter. The sounds of a scuffle wake the wary group. Alea comes up with her spear in hand, ready to jump to Siliwen’s defense Siliwen ducks to the shelter of Billy broad expanse and prepares Color Spray, but holds it for now, not sure of what is going on and Alea moves to stand side by side with him.

“I believe your friends have awakened,” the apparent leader spoke and nodded to the camp, “perhaps we should join them so they don’t do anything rash.”

Smiling, he waits for Thor to turn and head to the camp a few paces off then they follow him. When they arrive, Thor sees that a full dozen dwarves, plus the Leader, an elderly looking dwarf with flaming red hair and beard which stretches beyond his belt, now surround the party.

“Well now,” the leader says with a wry smile looking at the assembled group, “what have we here?”

“Are you the Dwarves of the Grey Mountains?” Alea asks, her melodic way of speaking, even in common, could not be disguised.

It seemed a foolish question when she heard it, but then it was important to know who they were dealing with, and not knowing this world, meant many questions needed answers, even if they sounded---foolish.

I for one do not want to lose this game, it is so rich in character development and Almerin's narratives are the best.

Since Elessarae joined the main group, I was purposefully having her keep to herself, as a part of the secret mission she was sent on and do to the newness of the group.

More interaction is good. I started out playing with myself and Almerin, so there was not much conversation except when I got someplace or ran into situations. Maybe this is a good time to bring in some new blood. There could be others here scouting out the Goblins and such, or going into the Chakran Mts, for fun and profit, they could be survivors of a group that went into the mountains for whatever reason.

Please! Please, keep this game going!

In the back of her mind rustled some thioughts. If this place was supposed to be a repository of knowledge, then why hadn't the artifacts been properly removed. Not being from this country she did not have know the history of this land, which might have contained stories of this place. Of what had happened to cause it to be abandoned, leaving behind certain relics.

But they did not have long to eye the madness of evil below them, for they could hear a shuffle of rock and the grunting of draconic voices close by. Then they spotted them: a group of dark forms was coming up a steep path from the south edge of the grass field. They had not seen the heroes yet, but it was a grassy plane they were standing on; there was nowhere to hide. Looking closely, they perceived ten small individuals, most likely goblins, accompanied by an ogre. Apparently, the ogre was urging the goblins forward with something that looked like a whip.

"Crouch low for now, it might take them longer to get up high enough to see us." Elessarae advises. What Megilindar Nost had fear was there in the valley. Hundreds of thousands of Goblins and Ogres and who knew what else, was massing in the valley. This was an army of invasion and the Sylvari had to be warned and quickly.

Elessarae prepeared her Flare spell to use on the lead goblin. She draws he sword and prepares to do battle. Once the Flare spell is off she will sing to encourage her comrades.

One thing she did know was that she had to keep any of the group from sounding an alarm. So she will look to see if any of them is wearing a horn, that one would be her first target.

"I do not want the thing behind us as we go through the place."

She moves her shield a bit down hoping to keep its attention on her, for it seemed it did not realize Silvara was about. In moving silently the Duskblade had a great advantage. As a Paladin it was not usual for one to go sneaking about, it was not a skill she had honed. For the most part Paladins waited for others to attack first, that being a indication of intention to do harm, which was a part of the Paladins code. Only in the case of deal with true evil did a Paladin not have to keep to their code of honor. When facing Evil they could strike hard and fast.

If it kept its attention on her then Sil would get an opportunity to make a surprise attack, should the giant rat sense Sil then she would be ready to move in quickly and hope to catch it off guard.

Zora analyzed her options and her best points of attack and then waited.

Alea, too, was happy to have found some sort of refuge. SHe does much the same as Siliwen in taking care of her mount and digging out rations for cold supper.

"We do not dare light a fire, for there is not enough cover and the light and the smoke from it would be a lure to the evil about here."

At Siliwen's comment about the lack of grazing, Alea nods, "You are right, the horses will need food and our supplies are not unlimited. We might have to locate human habitation to resupply, as I am loath to eating any food found in this area of contamination."

Stardate: 2374.09.03
Cerberus - Bridge - 05:50 Hours

At the appointed time, by S’Talon’s calculations, The Centurion and her Sub-Commander stepped onto the Bridge. As S’Talon as said, “If we arrive too early and they might think we are spying on them and if we arrive too late, they might think are we are trying to upset their routine.”

As the Bridge doors opened Sienae saluted. Romulan uniforms were austere in comparison to Star Fleet uniforms with their identifying colors so they stood out from other personnel while blending into the background of the gray walls. Sienae’s tall, by Romulan standards, lithe figure was a contrast to S’Talon’s shorted bulked out figure.

“Permission to enter, Captain.” Sienae face the Captain squarely and waited. Behind her look were the unsaid words. “I know you do not want me here, us here, but we are here and there is nothing we can do about it. I know your opinion and feeling about us, you have made that perfectly clear. You will have to deal with it just as I do.'

It was not a challenge, but a statement of facts. They had had a number of stormy private meetings, the captain seemed to feel he could argue facts. That caused sparks to fly- flint against steel-that was what they were.

(Replies and interactions)

Sienae looked about the bridge with a sweeping glance so as not to seem to be lingering her gaze on any one area. She and S’Talon then moved to the one area in the Bridge that was out of the way, yet afforded them a view of the Captain in his command chair.

Sienae could not suppress the feeling of excitement as the launch proceeded. It was like the time at the academy where she was given the command of the training ship, the excitement and the responsibility that seemed to balance themselves within her. Even though this was not her ship, nor even a Romulan ship, she still felt the trembling of as the Cerberus was being unlocked from the couplings and loosed to float free, though with all the internal dampeners, it was probably only in her imagination.

Silvara turned as she felt her hair moved, not moving in any breeze, because she felt nothing but the strands of her hair as if someone had touched it.

Silvara turned to Zora, "Did you fill anything just now?" she queries Zora. "Something seemed to move my hair but I
felt no breeze.

"I felt a chill btouch on my neck>" replied Zora taking a quick look about

"There is perhaps something in her ethat is not copreal, though I felt no sense of dread or doom. The touch was very slight."

Zora ponders the observation. "Could it be a sguardian presence of this place, a spirit that lingerss to protect it, but since we did not come to steal or destroy, that it does not attack us? An interesing point."

Getting back to the matters at hand Silvara comments further, "I think we need to go in there. Whatever is in there is content with what it is doing at the moment and I am not prepared to wait all day for it to come out. Time to beard the lion in its den."

"There may be another body in there that it is feeding on. Whatever it is, it may try to run away or attack. Whatever happens you go left and I will go right. That way my shield will be on my left and if need be I could cover you with it."

Silvara and Zora will move in, if they can not go through the door, Zora will go in first, shield up and ready. Both are prepared and are moving with caution.
