"The Sword of Light, or a Sword of Light," quizes Lorae.

"There is a difference. The Sword of Light is a Holy artifact lent to the Light's Avatars and Paladin's in times of great need, it is literally forge if the Light itself. Swords of Light are given to the Paladins of the Light."

Tamuril looks to the children, there is a true sadness in her eyes and face.

"I wonder how your children feel about this problem, for it is you who are who are determining their bleak future?"

She pauses giving them time to mull over her words.

"How did you feel when your parents chose to do nothing?"

"Yes," Tamuril drawled, "and tonight is the night. You know....." she paused, "if we knew how many came and what weapons they carried, then we might find they are too much for us to handle and just leave you to your fate."

Just observe? She could not see waiting a month for another attack.

To her mind not having the basic information of who, how many, when, where, what did they take, where did they come from was a great detrement. Tamuril voiced one question. "How often do they come?" she asked the townsfolk.

The newly formed group mounted and moved down the village road to the Moonsea Ride. They soon turn west as they come to the main road. The sun moved overhead and soon moved to in front of them. As the sun lowers the the top of the mountians before them, it is time to to search out a campsite for the night.

During the ride, Lorae and Brianna take time to dismount and walk or jog along the sides if their mounts.

(Post your actions as to how you travel and any converstion you muight get into.)

"We are heading to Cormyr by way of Tilverton. From what I have heard it is about 125 miles to Tilverton from here, from there about another 180 to a small city southwest of Tilverton. Then it will be over the mountains and into Cormyr proper, though once we reach Tilverton we are said to be in Cormyr."

"We seek information about a sword, it is called the Sword of Truth. Have any of you from this world, ever head of it?"

After Achilles revealation Mora waves him off. The man seems to be crazed with talk of whales and such. He was not from Badon, that was for sure.

"I do not know what game you play, but I and my friend are not in the mood." Mora looks him over carefully she carried only a dagger, but that did not mean she was helpless.

"I would rather you go your way and we will go ours." she points down the road that will meet with the main road and waits. "You had best get started."

"I am sorry, Ol' Gaffer," says Mora, politely, not allowing her voice to show anything, but respect for the old man, "but we have no horse here, we are having picnic.”

“I am not traveling to Badon for business or pleasure because I live in Badon," she explains. "I can show you to a small road, it is but a 1/2 mile away and that will lead you to the city, you might even find a merchant or farmer heading into town and catch a ride with them.”

She turns to the girl, “Let’s walk him to the road and then we can come back to finish our picnic.”

Mora takes up her haversack and nods to Ninian. She strides so off towards the north and the road. It takes about 10 minutes as the man moves slowly, feigning age, knowing that because a truly old man would have fallen any number of times over the broken ground that Mora took him over.

Then she comes to a trail she knows goes to the main road and stops. “Go left here and follow this small road to the main road into Badon which is to the left when you get to the crossroads. There is a sign there, but if you cannot read just turn left at the main road the intersection is marked by large stones.” She repeated it again. “If you wait on the rocks you might get someone to give you into town.”

With that she waves goodbye and heads back the way they came. Though she does not go far.

"That man was disguised," she said to Ninian. "Earlier someone was following us, the man that showed me that cave and myself. I thought that I lost them, but it was not an old man that I got away from and that one was not really an old man, either.

Tamuril listen to her own group and also to the convesations of the townsfolk. (Listen Check) She hears out the words of he companions and then adds her own bit.

"Does not a patient with a old broken bone that has set wrong not want it to be healed? Of course he would worry about the possible pain and the fact that it might not work, but....the possibility of his quality of life being greatly improved is what hangs in the balanace of his choice. We can only offer him the chance to aid us to fixing what is broken. Beyond that....." She sighs, "...for myself, I would intervene for the sake of the children and the helpless, who can not do anything about it even if they wanted."

"As far as any of them joining us that might or might not happen." she looks about and the back to the group after remembering what she had see as they rode into the village. "I understand they do not think they possess the skills to fight off the raiders and in truth they are not fighters, but recently Sylvarians had to improvise all manner of weapons from work tools to help fight off the mutated animals that had threatened the Sylvari homelands. True, it seems those who did stand against the invaders were overcome by them. Yet I wonder if these people have ever considered how much they have that can be used against these invaderers, weighted nets for one, and I have seen long shafts with heavy sharp hooks on them (gaffs), and others tools like spears with barbed points (harpoons)."

Lorae orders food, and then sits with the others. She listens more than anything else. When she finishes she goes to pick out a split riding coat and pays the girl.

"I think is time to be off. From what I have learned it is about a three day trip for riders, 130 miles. That will mean two nights camping on the trail."

Mora listens to the girl's story, she keeps the horror of what she hears to herself, but try as she can she can not kept the sympathy that is stirred within her for showing as she gather the girls slender form in her arms and holds her close. The girl then gives her name.

"Never again," she whispers to the the girl and herself. Every protective instinct within her is now enwrapped around this homeless, but no longer friendless waif

"Ninian, you now have a friend and a protector and whereever I am you have a place beside me."

Morasennarion's keen ears detect someone walking towards them. He did not seem heavily laden down, footsteps being light, and quick. The steps get louder as they seem to be coming down the trail towards you two.

"It seems we are going to have company."

Lorae looked again at the venom sac on the girl's head, it was gone.

She turned to the Mother, "The poison is gone," she announced, "I will give you some herbs that will lessen her fever, which should come down very fast now the poison is gone. There should be no more cramps. Best find out where she was yesterday, and then clean out the area. Most very poisonous spiders like to lurk in dark places."

"Melikki bless you," the Mother said hugging her daughter. "Please allow me to give you something for what you have done."

"I believe Alexandria feels the same as I," she looks to the Drow Priestess, "Your thanks and your daughter's health is all we need."

"Brianna told me that the Blacksmith's daughter was taken ill. That is why I go there."

Lorae knocks of the door of the house. "could there be others here, I have not doubt, but I do not have the omniscience to discern such," Which is a very unusual thing to say. "I do what I can when I can, and for me a child is need is of personal importance.

A sandy haired boy of about 10 opens the door, "Yes?"

"Your father mentioned you sister was ill, we have come to see what we can do to help her."

As the boy looks out at them his mouth drops open, "MOTHER!" he yells running back into the house.

Some minutes later a woman cautiously looks out the crack in the door. She had the look of a care worn mother, as she pushed back a lock of errant hair before opening the door further. Hiding behind her skirts is the boy.

"I am Lorae and this is Alexandria, priestess of Eilistraee and a healer, we have come to see what we could do for your daugther."

There was an immediate sense of relief in her face. "Please come in."

Whatever reservations she might have had concerning Alexandria were overcome by her anxiety over her daughter's illness.

She leads the way to a bedroom, where the girl lay. She quikly tells them both about the her daughter's illness. there has been a fever that goes up and down, general aches, acute muscle cramps, and nausea.

Lorea turns to the mother, "Please bring a kettle of boiling water, and we will have to undress her to see if there are any more signs of her illness."

Once she is gone, Lorae pulls back the bedcovers on the girls and begins to undress her. "I believe that you should take the lead in this."

Both priestess and Paladin work to undress the girl and while they do she undergoes a sudden muscle cramp in her back. It last for about 20 seconds of excruitating pain before subsiding. The girl's screams in pain and her mother rushes in. she soothes the child and Lorae leads her back to the kitchen before returning.

They find no rashes to indicate certain types of diseases, and nothing else that might give them a clue to the nature of the illness. The woman returns bringging a kettle of hot water. There is a bowl on at side table that the mother had been using to bathe her daugther's face when her fever raged. Lorae takes out a packet of herbs and crushes them, then adds some hot water. Immediately the scent of a forest after the rain fills the room. After finding nothing on her body to give them a clue her mother redresses the girl and goes to brush her hair. She brushes and braids one side and then goes to do the other. The girl immediately cries out again and pulls away from her mother in tears.

"Let me," says Lorae and she delicately to parts the girl's hair with her long slender fingers.

"Yes," she annouces in triumph, "Alexandria, do you have negate poison. "I believe she has been bitten by a praticularily poisonous spider."

Tamuril looks to the Innkeeper. How big are these creatures and how many? What sort of weapons do they carry? Do they came from the same place each time they have raided you? What do they want, or what do the take?

"Anyone else have quesetions."

She pauses and then before anyone else speaks she interjects, "You said that what happened to the herder was not normal, so now we have conundrum of another sort."

How long will it take for Elendil to get to the Forest and the Council. I finally found my FR interactive atlas so I looked up area.

OK here is some information I got from my FR Interactive Atlas.

96.5 miles from Castle Tethyr to 6the town of Zazesspur, Zazesspur is just to the south of the mountains. From Zazesspur across the Starspire Mountains by road is 47 miles and another 72 along the road to the middle of the western edge of the Forests of Tethyr. Not sure where the main enclave of Elves is in the forest. From the mid way through the forest on the road to the eastern border of the forest is 319.5 miles.

For referenc information, Top Endurance horses can do 100 miles in 11-13 hours (not including mandatory rest stops of 8- 10 hours) cross country over some really ruffed terrain of teh Rocky MOuntains including two rises in elevation from 4000 to 8000 to 3000 to 5000 with a really rough climb over Cougar Rock, a steep area of granite boulders and outcroppingsin as part of Tevis Cup Endurance Ride. A good horse can cover relatiively falt to tolling hills at 35-45 miles per day fo rseveral days in a row with plenty of rest stops and good food. The trip will be on a road it should be easier I am thinking. Though like an endurance rider Elendil will walk and jog beside the horse to spell her.

So let me know so I can plan

"As for Flame, He is mainly tied to Brianna, but he is also independent. Be assured, that by the time the food is served for breakfast, he will be there. That is the one thing you can be sure of about him, He is never late for a meal."

"Now, I have someone I need to go see, I am going to see a child who is ill I would have invited you to join me but these people live close to the Underdark and I am not sure if they would react well towards you, but just in case I have need of you skills I do have a disguise ring you might be able to use. Moraeanna sits the girl on the rock and reaches into her haversack to pull out some food she had take from home for a lunch.

"It's not much, but here." Mora hands the girl some bread, and then begins to cut slices off a chunk of cheeese and a short log of sausage.

She waits politely as the girls eats and pulls her waterskin off and lays it between them. She cut a couple of slices of cheese and sausage for herself and nibbles.

In the back of her mind she begins to piece a couple of things together. The man's story had the ring of truth, just befor the girl emerged from the came there had been a different shadow. As wild as it seemed she had a feeling that this young girl was really a dragon in disguise. It was said that Dragons could pass as humanoids and small furry animals.

Rather than being shocked by her summation she was intrigued, and sympathetic. Dragon or not, she was young and in need and Mora, who had no young siblings, felt a stirring within her, a motherly-sisterly type of feeling.

"I'll help you in any way I can, but I believe that we shall have to come up with some story about you."
