Setipmus embraced the earth beneath him willing it to cover him completely. His life's blood seeping into it feeding Mother Earth. Not is a gush as he had hoped, but steadily enough. So if he just laid where he was it would have the same effect.

The breeze ruffled his hair even among the tall grasses that hid him from view. No more voices to toment him, soon there would be nothingness. A gentle caress soft and comforting and a soft embrace, warmth and love he could feel it around him

"Get up, Septimus." his mother's voice gently called to him. "There is a new day awaiting you. No time to tarry here. There are so many things you have yet to accomplish, my dearest son. Get up your friends need you and you need them. Get up Seppy, be strong for me be strong for yourself. Setipmus felt the pull of his mother's voice the question was would he respond.

Above the fallen figure hidden in the deep grass a lone flying creature watched circling high above.

OOC: okay we will be away until Late Saturday night. Everyone still with us please post. We have lost our cleric but a new one is arriving--the dust on the road,

Elessarae looks up and spots him, "I wish your aid in examining the tracks of the creature that flashed by and from them try to deduce the base creature that it has been mutated from. It may give us an idea how to combat it."

Wasting no time Elessarae move up carefully to where she had seen the creature pass. She moved out with her sword drawn and her senses alert to her surroundings. She moved her head, keeping tuned to the sounds and movements. She prayed that some had been saved and hoped other would see the that. As much as she wanted to go to the aid of any survivors, she knew every minute spent on such activities would allow the creature to kill even more Sylvari.

Given the size of the creature, she did not think that it would be hard, even for her, to find its tracks. When she thinks she found them she will signal to Loda to look at them. She look behind to see if the Ranger had joined them and will signal him forward if he is there.

She has had a couple of ideas about what the creature might be, as yet unvoiced, and one of them was one she hoped was not corroborated.

I can share lists of names tha I have collected over the years, Orc, Hobbit, Dwarven, human, Elven and such. The elven list is made up of Tolkein like name parts with their meanings. It is just a matter of putting the parts together in a meaningful order. Like Isilimarenwyn Isil is Moon, maren is swordsman, wyn is maiden

"Loda, as a Druidess I need your expertise, come with me."

Elessarae goes outside and calls out. "Ranger, I have need of your knowledge."

As others move about Aurea goes up to the tomb. She stands at the foot of the figure and looks up the length him. She notes the position of the right hand and muses if it might have looked like a typical human sign for Okay. Over both the shounders are the three lines, and if one imagined the top without the bas relief figure, that they could look like clouds. About the head was the broken circle and a single smaller circle over the center of the seemingly broken halo.

She racked her brain, (Knowledge) to see if she had any inkling of what it might be. Also by taking away what languages and alphabbets she did know, she tried to deduce what lanugae it might be in. As her Grandfather often said to his family, one can never know enough.

"I wonder, she says aloud to not one in particular, "if he is not showing us the way." She looks to the arrow shape of the base and at what might be the Okay sign. "Then again his left hand is a fist and may mean something else. Either way the hand positions are not usual for carvings of the dead."

Lorae goes back in and to the table where the others sat and looks into the stew pot. "I was right, Logan, barely enough for us. We will be cleaning the pot with bread in the end." She chuckles.

She does take another part of a bowl and orders a cider. In the end she cleans her bowl with her bread and sits back satisfied. For now she just listens and coversations begin to wind down for the night, morning would come soon enough.

As Logan had shared with her, she had replied in kind. Now she spoke again. Lorae looks to Logan after his second speech.

"Logan, you will be welcome wherever I am, and as far as my people, if you mean the Elves, then what I have seen and learned of you in our passed months together has shown me that you could be an Elf Friend. As far as others of my bloodline, as I am not entirely elf in truth, some might kill you, just as they would kill me. My bloodline also bears Darkness in it."

As far as your marks are concerned, if the deity that gave them to you is good, then why hide them. Being marked by a God or Goddess is a mixed blessing, as you stated there were those in your world who would have killed you outright at the sight of them, but this is another world, who would know what those marks mean. Treat them as a Blessing and they may just become that.

Now you need more to eat, like me, and if we wait too long, Brianna and Highnar will empty the pot of stew and the ale keg. She stands and waits for Logan to follow.

"I was conceived long ago, and have know no ledge how long my mother carried me before she learned that I was bound to the Prophecies that predicted the Doom of the Dark Lord and finally bore me. I have lived two lifetimes from child to young adult about a couple of hundred years. One of those lives was within the Sacred Grove of Tara, Goddess of Nature, so who knows what time had passed in the Grove, compared to the world in general. Later it was deemed that I needed to be more independent and self reliant, so I was diminished in age and with no knowledge of my previous life, I was left as a orphan in a human city where I learned to survive, until an Elf spotted me and brought me back to the Elven Forest. I relearned what it was to be Elven and was drawn again to Tara. I so wanted to be her bard, to play for her and ease her heart, but she had another path for me. In my quest to endear myself to Tara and set out on a mission to retrieve a fabled sword. I fought a hydra for it and barely escaped with my life. The sword was cursed and while I had it, it would change my sex, male to female and back.

I meet Brianna when a group was gathered by a famous wizard and we were sent to affect the release of an Elven Lord held in a ruined castle guarded by ogres and giants. All of those called were subjects of the Prophecies, even as you are now. In the rescue I fought an Ogre with a holy sword and he broke my blade. I was born a boy and was a girl at the time the sword was broken. I will remain female as long as I live, and that might be for some time due to my bloodlines."

"Tara replaced the blade of my sword with the the one of green wood, anhd named me her champion and with the sword and the help of the others we killed the Ogre Mage and his anti-paladin. The Elven Lord we saved was the very man who had taken me from the streets of a human city and into the forest to be brought up amonst the Elves, and he was their King."

"After that we were set upon one group after the other of those trying to kill us, until the Dark Lord came himself to destroy us. Tara came to our aid and there was a standoff between she and the Dark Lord. Of the group of 7 only 4 remained alive, do the the Death Knights that had come with the Dark Lord. Then we were swept up into a whirlwind and we came here."

"Soon after our arrival we were attacked by Drow. We lost two companions in that battle, Jerred, a half Giant and good friend of Brianna's, and I lost a good friend, Logan, a Dwarven thief, who was the uncrowned king of an abandoned Dwarven Holt."

"So it is that others have taken up the places of those that were lost. You, yourself are the One Marked by Darkness as written in the Pophecies. As is Vatta the Rogue with Higher Purpose. Or Cerric, as the Voice of the Gods. Highnar is Great Warrior, Brianna is the Bringer of Truth and Justice. Xuor is the Man of the Wilds." and other than Brianna and myself, all of you have taken the places of those who were prophecised to destroy the Dark Lord forever. Others are mentioned by the propohecies, they may join us or they may replace us."

"Like all prophecies there are ambiguities. Other groups in history came together to destroy the Dark Lord, only to be destroyed themselves. What gives me hope is that the Dark One personally did his best to stop us and that had never happened before."

Given the rate of inflation I would think the Chemical value of a person is from $7 to $10. Now as a cadaver, back then, a body was worth $150-$250.

But think on what you might have missed if they had never been your friends at all."

With that she falls quiet and eats her bowl of stew-soup beside Logan in companionable silence,. She occasionally dunks her bread in it to gather the juices. She waits listening for whatever questions he wanted to ask of her.

"Was there anything is the Sage's reading that might be of use to us?" Elessarae keeps her voice level and free of the emotions that fill her being. It would be so easy to collapse in tears and rail at fate, a week ago that might have happened, but not now. She had no idea what Lady Quilanday thought of her, as she listened stoicly to her words and when Elessarae read the letter.

Nothing could change the fact that her mother was dead, and she would understand Elessarae's intent. Sylvaria First, all the rest second.

"Excuse me," Elessasrae turns from Ouilanday, "Please gather together, she calls to the group. "We need to prepare to find the mutated tree and then deal with the beast the struck here. We are going to need a few things if we want to get to the tree safely."

She turns back to Ouilanday, "There must be some who survived, the serving girls and the cook here, and others elsewhere. Will you see to them as we prepare and if you find a druid alive I would like to speak to him or her."

Elessarae looks about but does not see the silent Ranger, "Can someone tell me where the Ranger went, we will need his expertise on the nature of the beast that attacked the village."

Subject: Elessarae

Elessarae took the letter and opened it, She stared at it but for a while she did into see it. A flood of memories swept around her as if she were standing in the center of a whirlpool. Her mother cuddling her, tickling her, and holding close her when she was hurt or ill, to soothe away the pain. She remembered her mother coming home from duty and whistling in her special way. Elessarae, as a three year old would break from her father's arms to run to her, and her mother would lift her daughter into the saddle whereupon Elessarae would flail her short legs against the saddle to make the stallion prance and she would giggle and laugh as she was bounced in the saddle. Later she learned that her mother signaled the stallion to do so, even to pointing where he was to go when a Elessarae would lift the reins and wave them about on the horse's neck.

Her mother’ face was always alight with the joy of life, she was......had been........quick to laugh and take delight of the simplest things. Elessarae remembered when they were at the Moon Horse River, chasing dragonflies and falling in the river doing so and laughing as they did. Her mother had bought her, her first sword and began her first lessons with it, both her mother and her father had helped train her at a young age so that she had been more than prepared to be a Bladesinger and it was her fondest wish to have them attended the ceremony of her graduation into the ranks of Bladesingers. A ceremony that never happened as Elessarae had quietly gone from Trainee to Bladesinger without ceremony. She was not even sure her parents had gotten her letter about her elevation to Bladesinger status.

Elessarae did not feel the first tear that traced its way down her face, glistening in the light from the window. Elessarae looked up to Quilanday breaking the cycle of memories. Memories she knew would always be there when she had time to lose herself in them. She now read the letter which in essence conveyed the Commander’s sympathies on her loss and a brief explanation about the events leading to her mother’s death.

The steel blade that she had become in the past week transmuted into something stronger and more Elven, it glittered in her eyes and shown in her being--Mithral.

Even as she meet Quilanday's gaze she knew her mission. It had begun in Megilindar Nost, transmuted in the nameless village, intensified here in Hith Elee with the deaths of the villagers and transformed again into a lifelong duty, with her oath to defend Sylvaria.

Refolding the letter, now spotted with teardrops, she tucked it away. "Lady Ouilanday, will you send my deepest sympathies to my father." She would not even take time from her self appointed task to do that. "There may be time to grieve and to write when my mission is complete. I can best honor my mother and serve Sylvari by saving trees and destroying the mutated creatures."

Elessarae took a deep breath and her hand clutched Comrade’s long mane

"And have you heard anything as to the nature of my mission as it was first laid out?" Things had changed, she had changed, maybe the mission had been changed. “I sent a message to Sillarion that I believed that what has happened with the trees was developed by a far more evil intelligence than that of simple Goblins.”

Elessarae nodded to the older Bladesinger, and repeated that she had told the others to her. Elessarae was intent on the group and her surroundings, while Quilanday spoke, her head sweep back and forth, her intense stare raked the forest about the village and her ears moved to better hear any sound so she did not catch all the times the Lady had glanced at her, and she put no meaning to it those looks she did see. As Lady Quilanday spoke of the potion of the Rilma Lotus Elessara added.

"I too have a potion of the Rilma Lotus that I got from Flame Tower."

When Lady Quilanday finished speaking to the group, she indicated she had something to tell Elessarae, so the younger Bladesinger went off to the side with her.

Aurea takes a middle position and moves quietly along. On passing the Alpha male of the Wolf pack she pauses to give it a good long stare. She had noted its unusual eyes, but as she locked eyes with it her gaze never wavered. She was a Alpha female in her own right.

Passing the she-wolf and cubs in a side area she nods to them, "No harm intended," she mutteres to her and her cubs.

She watches the members of the group, noting their demeanors, their manners of speech, and their actions. Each had accepted her in their own terms. No exactly a "Hail fellow, well met," but at least they did not send her away.

She looked and Trillian's back knowing that the Elven Ranger had not yet made her decision about Aurea coming with them. She understood her position and accepted it. It was now up to her to prove her worthiness.

"I have a torch, I will light it." She digs in her back to produce the touch and her flint and tinder.

Brianna had lost her long time friend Jered, the half-Giant and Lorae, herself, had lost a very dear friend and battle companion the dwarf Prince and rogue, Logan Goldshield.

She moved with the group to a table and took up a mug of ale with the rest of them, but other than the toasts she nurse the single frink taking only sips. Her own thoughts were of a place and time now gone. The longer they were here in this world the more faded the memories of her homelands.

Lorae longed to enter the Goddess's Grove and play the harp for her, but she had no idea if Tara still lived. Try as she might to recall the events leading to the cataclysm of their being sucked from their world by the whirling maelstrom, she could not piece together what was transpiring between the Goddess and the Dark One while they She , Brianna, Logan and Jerred had Death Knights and other monsters of the Dark One's summoning as they were transported to this new world to continue the fight until the enemies were vanquished. and Jerred and Axel lay dying in the bloody glade.

The had just recently left another bloody glade, but this time the enemey lay dead upon it and their new friends and companions were living still.

Lorae stands, "Here is to the Valiant and the Brave who fought Evil this day, and to those who have passed that have fought Evil before." She looks to Brianna as she speaks. "To the Bravehearts that fought overwhelming odds. Each in our way, saved the day."

Lorae tilts her mugs and drinks deeply and then takes another drink, "For you Jerred and Logan." she whispers as she sets the mug down again leaving it as an offering to those now departed.

Subject: Elessarae

A terrible anguish appeared on Elessarae’s face and whoever saw it could not mistake the agony of her expression. The anguish she had felt at the attack of this new MAOUS was born deep within Elessarae. The base of her grief came not only from the current situation, but also from those in the earlier and from the knowledge that it was happening all of Sylvaria. The distress of Sylvaria under such an attack was heartwrenching.

Because of her father’s position as a Bard and her mother’s position in the Royal Cavalry, Elessarae had traveled much with her family. She had an opportunity to experience many of the great places in the 3 kingdoms, natural and Sylvari made. Young Elessarae had seen the wonders of Alloryen; Aratar Barad the Exalted Tower, and spent a day with her father playing to Mirily-Wen Duin, the Glittering Maiden River, and as a wonderstruck child stood in awe of Ela-Ishtel, Star Castle.

In Londelirinen she lived in the City of Sillarion Somion’Enrai, the Aerie of the High King, had gone west to see Amantalar’men, the Place of the Blessed Ground, and east to the graceful Silma Brand, the Starlit Tower.

In Maelamin she had spent 4 days with her father as he sang to, and of, the most beautiful waterfall in the world. This inspired Elessarae to be a Bard as nothing else ever had. Even Elessarae had created a song for Amban Aluria, the Hillside Waters where the waters rushing off a rocky outcropping cascaded down the rocky face of the hill in a frothing white veil of falling waters. When the sun hit the mists just right the falls created tiny sunbows making the falls come alive with color. Elessarae had been to Moritour, the Darkwood, and Malmalen, the Golden Circle, and finally the one place where she swore the one day she would build her own tower, Teukelytha Duin, the Moon Horse River. She had gone with her mother with a group of Royal Cavalry to see if any of the Moon Horses would choose to serve as mounts for the Troops. She had been entranced by the graceful and intelligent creatures, for to call them a horse was to understate what they were. She even wrote her first long poem about the graceful white and silver steeds.

Elessarae’s deep love of Sylvaria included all the flora and fauna, the land itself, the beautiful rivers, and other natural features that filled her with wonder along with the great cities and small villages, the creations of her people in arts and crafts, their culture with its music and literature. The love of her land and its people became such that she wanted to protect it. After wanting to become a Bard like her father and then experiencing what life in Sylvaria inspired young Elessarae tpo vow to defend her world. It became her life's goal at a very tender age to do just that and she had persevered to become a Bladesinger as her way of defending all that was Sylvaria against all the Evils that threatened it.

Elessarae raised her blade hilt to her face. Her face was now changed as if one had suddenly transformed her features in steel, the steel that had been forged in the nameless village in the battle with the Goblins and the Ogre. Sylvaria was greatly threatened and the magnitude of the threat was beyond ability of a single Bladesinger to deal with, but such was her deep and abiding love for her land that she made it her fight.

“Deities of Good, Please hear my vow,” Elessarae called out in a clear ringing voice, “My life for Sylvaria, my Blade for all the Evils that threaten it.” With that she thrust the blade high into the air. Her commitment was affirmed.

Her face was now one of steely resolve and a tenacious determination to defend Sylvaria. Her eyes meet Draven’s strange gaze again, this time with the light of battle glowing in them. She moved out to find the beast and slay it.
