Somewhat refreshed by sleep Elessarae patted Comrade and glowingly commended him on his discovery.

"You are a gem among Moodsteeds," said Elessarae as she treats Comrade to a bracing massage to help him recover from his long travels. "You have found the fabled flower that will heal the infected animals of the forest."

Then Elessarae prepares to stand guard over the flower until the sun in high in the sky and the flower blooms. While she watched, keeping alert for any thing that might be lurking about, Elessarae prays to the Lord of the Forest asking for guidance in what she should do about the flower.

One was to pick the Flower at the peak of sun as it seemingly sweep across the sky., when it bloomed The other was to take a container and scoop up the whole plant, with some of the water, and carry it back to the Tower. If there was no guidance forthcoming, she would follow the first course because that was what the storyteller said was done. The flower was picked when the sun was at it highest over the River of Light.

Subject: What! We’re Not Done with the Introductions

Zara makes a face at some of the royal Selene’s introduction; first was the bit about, "I know probably more than any of you of this mission, for I've known about it for a while. It's been a known mission for which I was to participate, and to advance my magic and swordsmanship. It's part of my final stages of training."

Well, La De Da, she knew about it long ago, which meant, by now, it was not much of a secret. The more people that know a secret the less it is a secret.

Then the royal Ivae had the audacity to put herself before everyone else. "Lord Sandalwood, I would ask for your devoted company to dinner, were we to have time before we must part upon the mission. I would be honored by your company, should we have time to speak in private.”

That was a real friendly slap in the face to everyone else.

And what was this “devoted company.” Was he supposed to fawn on her? He did not seem the type.

Oh, well it was time to introduce herself. She was sure the Prince knew nothing of her since it was only Dalyndra whom he had contacted. She stood and prepared to make her introduction, but try as she might she could not help commenting on what Selene had said about the tavern and other things.

She caught Selene’s eye and then spoke. “Maturity is not measured by age, but by experience and the wisdom that comes with it,” piped Zara, quoting her oh, so wise mother. “I may not have the experiences you have had, my mother likes to live apart from others, but there are some experiences I have had that you will never have.” That said she turned her back on the royal Ivae.

“My name is Zara....Goldenwings, Dae and I share the same father. I know I am the youngest here, and also uninvited, but I bring with me multiplicity of talents. I can use sword and bow as well as any Ivae and furthermore I can cast Sorcery spells, coming into my ability very young in life, and I can cast Divine spells, being Favored by The Light, as is Dae.

“I am also literate in many languages, my mother taught them to me, she said it was better to converse with others in their own tongues, that way there was less chance of misunderstanding, or of being misunderstood.

I love astronomy, and am a learned student of the stars and planets. I used to spend entire nights observing them, mother had to drag me back home to get sleep. Over the years I have developed a way to knowing the local time, at night, and even estimate where I am by the position of the stars in the heavens. Knowledge of any kind is a passion of mine, and I have spent much time in reading the great tomes of the past, and I have a knack of remembering everything I have read or seen. Which also helps in geography, and map reading and that coupled my innate ability to know where I am, could be really useful for this venture. AS I am an avid collector of books I would also be searching for any books, tomes and scrolls as I already have an extensive collection of some very rare tomes.

“Beyond these skills and abilities I can cook, thanks to Dae’s mother, and play a harp, and sew. I did the embroidery on our clothes, but I can just as well sew up rents and tears in clothes, equipment, or skin. I have some healing skills and of course healing spells.”

Zara abruptly ends her speech leaving others wondering if she ever took a breath between the beginning and the end of her soliloquy--which demonstrated an extraordinary control of breath.

That said she sat down and reached into her haversack on her side and drew out a handkerchief, she reached to the table for a glass and a pitcher of water and poured some into the glass. She sipped a bit of the water and then wet the handkerchief with the rest of the water.

She watches the Prince carefully, he might forbid her to go, not that that would really stop her, after she had come all this way.

“Why don’t the rest of us go off to a tavern and just get better acquainted.” By which she meant that the rest of them not invited to dinner, could get together over a pleasant meal. She had never been in a real tavern.

Zara shifts in her chair looking about to see if everyone has introduced themselves, she is holding out to be last.

She watches the byplay between Septimus and the royal Ivae, studying it. And deeper than that was her observations of Septimus himself. His aura was a terrible muddle of darks and dims, luckily it was not much muddied. She could only wonder as to what brought him to this state, physically and spiritually.

(OOC who has yet to introduce themselves)?

"A tavern you say," pipes up Zara listening to the female Ivae speak after the interesting little gnome, "now that sounds fun, but discussing this venture there is a baaaad idea; too many people, too many ears, no security, no privacy."

Zara eyes the young elf who seemed dressed for the part on a level higher than all the rest of them. A female peacock? Her attire did nothing to disguise her inborn demeanor.

"Anyway, I believe you are overdressed for that sort of place."

Zara's finely bowed lips came together in a tiny mou, not quite an pout, but definitely not a happy look as Dae's hand held her down. If it were not for the promise to her own mother and to Dalyndra's mother she would not have been allowed to come along on the adventure.

Not that she looked old enough to be out of the Elven enclaves. A juvenile in the first bloom of womenhood. She was shorter than her 1/2 sister by some inches. Her hair was bright gold blond and seemed to have a metallic luster to it as it waved and curled about her head like a halo and then reached well down her back, pulled straight it would reach passed her delightfully rounded bottom. Her eyes were bright yellow with a tinge of gold, much like some birds of prey, but they also twinkled with mischieviousness. Zara's skin tone was a pale golden tan, and her facial features were definitely exotic, her upswept brows, high cheek bones, large eyes, and pointed ears were all Elven and then some, only the slight upturning of her nose was different.

Her outfit was of Elven design, in golden tan and teal, and with the same golden embroidery as her 1/2 sister's outfit. Her boots the knee high and soft sided, they were highly decorated with pierced and cut work in tan and 2 tones of teal.

It was fine enough for her to wait to be last, it gave her a edge on knowing the others before they knew her.

So she bides her time until the others have introduced themselves.

“Sounds great, when do we start,” pipes up a youngish voice hidden by the taller occupants of the room.

My ½ sister and I are ready. When do you want us to leave? I think we are about ready. Will you be giving us supplies? We did not bring much on our trip, and unfortunately we lost some on the way, as the pack was not lashed down properly. Will we need horses? That is a long way to walk. I have always wanted a horse, will I be able to pick one out for myself.”

All this came is one breath and would have gone on except for a stilling touch and a quiet.

As the late arriver steps into the room, Zara gives him an apraising look, taking in his dark aspect.

"You're late for the what, when, where, and why, but just in time for the who."

“Enough for now, Zara.”

Elessarae was out with the horses when the young sage arrived. She had profusely apologized to Comrade for not knowing of his wound. But he run off to her left side as she had been trying to train him to do and the arrow was low on his hip and she never saw it. She asked that the colt be tended to first, and wound cleansed by her own hands, though she left the healing to those with the magic to do so. She knew enough not to try to pull out an arrow in a direction other than the one in which it went in. As the only way for her to pull it was from over her shoulder, she was afraid of breaking off the tip or of the tip, itself, breaking. Many goblin archers could not afford steel points so they made their arrowheads of flint. Flint could fracture and leave shards of stone in a wound. She had gritted her teeth and rode the whole way back wounded like Comrade. After a time she was able to was push the pain out of her mind, well at least into the background.

Only after Comrade was tended to, did she allow her own wound to be tended. After that she washed and brushed both horses, complimenting them both for their parts in the escape. Indeed Gharion had shown himself to be a superior mount with great endurance. He had shown it from the very start, from the day she rode him to the Capitol of the High King-Emperor of the Elves

The Young Sage told of hwhat had transpired in their questioning. “We need the essence of the Rilma Lotus, an exotic and legendary flower that is said to bloom only when the sun shines at its brightest. It has a healing power that will cleanse the willows from the goblin filth. But we need to locate this flower, and those willows, but we have no idea where to look. We’ve only heard of the Rilma Lotus, and know that it can not be cultivated or tamed, for some reason. Perhaps you could aid us by returning to the village. We believe on of the poisoned willows should be close to it. Return with information as soon as possible.”

Hearing those words Elessarae’s head came up.

“Last night I was camped in a swamp between the Duin Lotersira and the Rilma Duin, with a group of elves and one of them told of a legend of the Lotus of Light. That night, by the fire, one of the elves shared a tale about the area between the two rivers. The legend told of the two spirits of the Duin Lotesira and the Rilma Duin coming together on the stretch of land where the two rivers came closest. Their love sprouted flowers, so special and enchanted, they gave light in the darkness. These plants carried an essence of healing, but only bloomed when the River of Light shone at its brightest. It was said that only then the spirit of the Duin Lotesire could perceive her lover, and that her happiness gave life to the flowers.

Before I left that place this morning, I dug a furrow and placed water from the Duin Lotesira and the Rilma Duin, into the furrow. It was a romantic notion that set me to do it, but the gods move in mysterious ways. Could it be that what I did was to create what was needed for us to reverse the mutant poison?”

“If so we must go back there and search for the flowers. It could be they bloomed this noon, or might bloom tomorrow at noon.”

She looks to the young sage, “You might question the Goblin further. Find out if his name is Frustuuk? The Goblin captian eluded to the fact that Frustuuk had the duty to care for the tree! If he is not Frustuuk, then he might able to tell us about him and even about the tree the Goblin captain spoke of.

“If you could get me the loan of a fresh mount I will lead a small party back to where I dug the furrow and poured the waters.”

She could not think to ask Gharion to carry her back to where they had been that morning, after all he had been through today. Though she did not think she could make Comrade stay.

Even though you have stated basically what you will do for the fight, I want to see a post for every action round. You can add your thoughts about how things are going, or changes in plans, and the key point of combat posts is a description of you actions.

As the DM Deity alMighty I want in to hear, see, and feel all of my PCs in action, and in roleplying to. But you all have been doing a fine job is your posts.

Elessarae races back grabs up the Goblin and with a burst of adrennalin heaves him onto the back of Gharion. She jumps into the saddle and heads the gelding further around to the back of the inn.

"Comrade, stay close," she whispers patting her side. Then she takes the rope and tightly binds the Goblin's hands to his feet all the while legging Gharion to where she wants him to go. She judges her time and once to the back of the stable she pulls out a flask of oil and pours it on some hay stacked in a shed at the back of the barn and a bit on a piece of rag ripped from the Goblin's clothes. Then she stuffed a second rag torn from the goblin's clothes into its mouth and tied it in with another strip.

From her belt pouch she brings out her flint and steel and strikes the flint against the steel and when a spark hits the tinder, she blows on it every so gently at first. Once it is going she lights the rag and when it is blazing she tosses it onto the oil covered hay.

Now for the ride of her life. She turns Gharion into the forest perpendicular to the rode she came in on. She had noticed a stream that cut across the road at an angle coming in from this direction of the forest. She trotted Gharion through the trees.

"Adaron please see that what I do is for your people of the forest." Elessrae first prays to the Patron of the Elves, also known as Kith Jora by humans.

"Heren'salkya (Fortune's Dancer, Shinara in Human) aid me to reach those that can bring retribution to the Goblins who have killed the Elves of this village."

"Meiven Tarai(Rydor, for Humans) aid my fire so retibution will be dealt to the Troll from which it cannot regenerate."

About 50 yards in she hit the stream and headed down it to the road. Once on the rode to legged Gharion into a gallop. Knowing he could not run all the way she used what was left of the daylight to put the most distance between her and the village. When is was too dark to see easily she brought Gharion down to a long fast walk and interspaced it with trotting when they were more in the open. Elessarae also dismounted and jogged along side of the Gharion, and keeping an eye out on the goblin. Every so often she would lift an eyelid to see if he had regained consciousness. When her stomach growls in protest, she takes out a some ration bars, made of roasted grains, nuts dried fruits and honey. She eats one and also gives two each to Gharion and Comrade.

"Adaron, please grant Gharion and Comrade with the endurance of a wolf and the sight of an owl, so that we might return quickly to where help can be requested."

Xour hears the high pitched voice of the Dragonette, and he is soon in place position hismelf so that the Orcs and goblins will be caught in a crossfire. Brianna and Highnar prepare to meet the enemy and Lorae moves to set some strategic entangles once she does she dismounts Moon Dancer and pretends to be looking at his foot. She point to Logan to set up on the north side as Brainna and Highnar have taken positin on the south. Should any of the enemy go around the entangles they would be there to stop them.

After setting the entangles Lorae rides over to a point directly on the far side of the entangles, hoping to draw the enemy into her trap. The entangles should pretty much stop the goblins, though the stronger Orc could power their way through.

Some 7 mintues later the gutteral commands of Orc and the higher pitch cries of Goblins can be heard.

As they burst into the glade Lorae start to lead Moon Dancer straigt away from them. True to there nature the Orcs and the Goblins break into a run seeing their quarry ahead.

Something was very wrong, here at the northern edge of the middle Sylvari kingdom. This village had been overrun by goblins, probably aided by the Troll. Flame Tower needed to be warned, but she also needed intelligence. There was no way of knowing if the Elves she saw in the inn were alive. She had to know that. Thinking fast she turned back to Gharion.

"I will not leave my horses near that Ogre," she says untying the gelding. Comrade had not been tied. She pulls out length of rope about 10 feet long as it to tie Comrade.

She walks back slowly toward the Goblin. "I'll find a better place to tie them." Elessarae even offers a smile to the goblin. "A hot meal will be most welcome."

As she walks she looks to Gharion and pats him and then speaks the words in Elven for the Daze spell. She is hoping that the gobin will think she is just soothing her horse. She goes to the others side of the inn away from the Troll and also partically out of sight of the inn and the building the Goblin had headed for. She walks towards a tree and when she gets there she turns to the Goblin.

"Here, help my with my saddle bags I do not want to leave them unguarded." Nothing like the idea that the bags he was coming to get had valuables in them. Goblins were greedly little bastards.

Her idea is to lure the goblin to where she can get am arm around his neck and hand over his mouth.

When she gets right up the goblin she will release her spell. If it does or does not work she still plans to grab him, cover his mouth and hit the goblin over the head for subdual damage. Then she will tie him and throw him up on Gharion, and get another look through the window to discern if the elves she saw were alive or dead.

Time was of an essence and no matter the condition of the elves she knows her information on the takeover of the village must get to Flame Tower. If it seems she had not been found out she will circle round the barn and set it on fire, using oil and her flint and tinder on some hay or staw that would be stored by the barn. Like most barns it was built of big beams morticed and tendoned. By the time the beam burned holding the chain of the Troll the barn would be a blazing inferno.

She will mount and ride into the forest before cutting back to the road and galloping back to Flame Tower. The goblin could be questioned once they were far enough away from the village, and more so at Flame Tower

The Lionman is great, a for more distinguished fellow than the Frog King. Now if it had been a frog prince I might had kissed him, but....NAH.

Anyway to the meat of the matter concerning Elessarae

1. What time of day is it.
2. Was there any sign of smoke from chimneys as she rode in.
3. Were there any animals running about, pets, poultry, etc.
4. How big is the barn in relation to the troll, would it be evident that nothing edible, AE horses or people, would be alive in the barn.

Plans will probably be to knock out the goblin, tie him up and gag him and thrown him up on Gharion. Untie Gharion, go back a get a good look through the window, then.... depending on what I see....added to the answers of my questions; I will act further.

The flashing red dragonette make s beeline for Brianna. "They come lots of Orcs and Goblins. Lots of Golblins" Flame tell Brianna in his high pitched voice. Most can hear it clearly. Bells went off as she watched the goblin's expressions. First he was dumbstruck, but where was the subservience he should have shown if he were in an Elven village. Lastly followed by fiendish glee as he had called out

“Yes, yes,” it spoke in the common tongue, “we have an inn right here. Follow me please.”

Then, in Goblin it called out to nobody in particular: “Hey boys, we have company, heat up some soup!”

"WE" have an inn? Goblins do not count Elves in the term "we", and no Goblin in his right mind would call Elves "boys", nor order them to stir a pot.

An Elf for the soup pot was more like it.

"Let me just take my horses to the stable and get them settled." she calls back and turns toward the side building that was probably the stable.

That would take her passed a window, that was out of sight of the goblin entering the building. Even if he came to watch her she would be able to get that look before he got to the corner. One good look inside would tell her all she needed to know.

She pats Gharion, as she closes her legs on him, she wanted him up and ready to run. It was not that far back to the Tower, and they needed to be warned. She looks to the colt.

"Stay with me." she says in Elven.

She rides close to the building and moves into a position to look through the window. Should the Gobin try spying on her she kicked her right foot from her stirrup and pretended to be trying to get it turned so she could put her foot back in. She starts to sing a plesant little ditty about flaming logs on a homy hearth, in common and the smell of food cooking.

Just incase it was needed she prepared a Flare Spell, handy against creatures of the night and the dark.
