Subject: Elendil

"Hold it." Linnix says firmly, positioning herself in the elf's way, "Just who are you, and what do you think you're doing here?"

Elendil heard the tone in her voice and ignored it, though the long years of inborn, inbred elven haughtier rose to meet her challenge. Her family house went back to the very beginnings of Elvenkind; theirs was a noble line unbroken over millenniums. Elendil faced the young woman who looking battered and bruised, she had to be one of those involved in fighting Bolikar’s minions.

I am Ankalimawenelda tel’Celeb'Ithil’Thoron-Ishtel of Eldamar, in service to The Council of Elders of the Forest of Tethir. I was sent here to gather information about the gathering of goblin kind on the southern side of the Starspire Mountains.”

Damn, she had gone a given her true name. The only one she had used after leaving home was Elendil Ithilmegilwen, just because she did not want others to find her. They were looking, she knew they would be. Given time they would find her, but until they did she was free to pursue her dreams, she would earn the right to carry a Moon Blade.

“Do you see this Drow,” with a quick stabbing motion she uses her sword to point at the Drow crumpled on the ground, “That is my arrow that pierced her dark heart and now she had improved her lot, for I'quelin Mori'Quessier naa ba Mori'Quessir. ” She cocks her head to see if the girl understands elven. (The best Drow is a dead Drow.)

“Do you see that burned giant Orc, its was my companion’s fireball that took him off the battlements.”

“I have every right to be here and loot the one I have taken down. I was sent for information and I will get it.” Elendil knelt to remove all that the Drow wore or carried, she literally cut the clothes from her to look for any House tattoo’s or other arcane markings. Which could reveal a great deal about the dead Dark Elf witch.

“And least you think reinforcements are coming,” she paused in her work, “there is no human army marching up the road. It was I that called out in hopes of ridding the keep of excess enemies, as goblins easily lose morale when their leaders have fallen.

Now, N'Tel'Quess (not Elf), who are you and your friends.”

At that point she hears Bronwyn calling. She gathers up what she had taken and turns toward the sound, “Please,” Elendil took a deep breath, the first she had taken in a long time, as she let it out she could hear her mother’s admoshinments as if she were there, Ankalimawenelda, it is not proper to lose you temper and be impolite, “please, touch nothing till I return, and if you can find a still living Goblin I need some questions answered.”

“Bronwyn, you might show yourself.” She hoped the timid Mage will do so, now the main threat is gone. Elendil moves out carefully picking her way across the body strewn bailey, sword at ready.

Then another voice calls out, from a man standing close to the giant Orc.

"You! I can see you. Dismiss your illusion and let the rest see you! Like we asked of your colleague, who are you and what are you doing?"

A Mage, if he can see invisible. "Hold your spells, Mage," That is Bronwyn, also a Mage, she has found a chance-met comrade who was in here during the fighting. She is responsible for the Fireball that felled Bolikar from the battlements."

Elendil watches the man carefully.

You said Eledil was sent south by an Elven Council of Elders because of reports of goblins gathering, but from what place? I thought it was an Elven wood or enclave north of the Starspire Mountains.

Reply coming to Linnix. HEHEHEHE

Now a question for the DM. Exactly where was it the Council of Elders are. I know it is someplace north of the Starspire mountains.

Subject: Elendil

When the last of the enemy had gone beyond bow shot, Elendil moved into the bailey of the keep. The relative silence and carnage was intense. The stink of burned flesh asailed her nose. Bright eyes took in the scene seaching for the freindly fighters that had to be in here, living or dead. She slipped her bow over her shoulder and drew her sword, there could be any number of coup de gracs to perform.

"Bronwyn," she cried out, Where are you?" Invisible, she was sort of safe, but....

Elendil started towards a couple of still standing humans. Passing any of the enemy that twitched or groaned her blade flashed out deftly cutting across the jugular to insure death. She paused at the great hulking body of Bolikar. Thank Corellon that Bronwyn's fireball had worked so well, but from the look of him others had done they parts to kill him after Bronwyn brought him down.

No wonder he had been able to bring together Goblins, Orcs, and Gnolls, they all responded to powerful warchiefs and this massive orclike creature was indeed such. As was the Drow in another way.

Elendil's brows drew down as she pondered the inference of a Drow working with such creatures. Bolikar was the brawn, but the Drow was the brains, but to what end? What did the Drow want of this place. What purpose would it serve the Drow? The Council of Elders had sent her to gather information about Goblin activity here, but there had been no mention of Drow activity. That shed a new light on the subject. She paused in slitting throats, She needed a live Goblin, she needed some questions answered. As she searches she came across the body of the Drow she had taken down, her arrow was buried almost to the fletchings.

"By Corellon's Grace," she entoned seeing the arrow had gone through the Dark Elf's dark heart. Elendil began a methodical search of her body, taking everything of value and that might hold a key to Drow envolvement. Once done looting the body she looks for a still living goblin.

This is straight from the Races of Audalis:

Modern citizens of civilized Antaron are largely considered to be members of the third race of men, called Apanonar by the elves of Sylvari. This race colonized southern Antaron via ships around 700 BER, better than eleven hundred years ago.

The countries of Ertain, Coria, and Pardinal all draw their populations from these. The people tend to be on the tall side of average, have medium to fair complexions, and due to time's dilution of the gene pool, can possess virtually any combination of hair end eye color. Even so, brown eyes and brown hair are the most common amongst these countries.

The Sergeant was taken aback by the Drow's reappearance and by her speech, it was definitely not what he expected. Looking to Lorae, just standing to the side very accepting of the Drow's presence, he finally looked back at the Priestess his face a bit red with embarrassment.

"Sorry, m'.....lady. With things the way they are, I could not allow you to run free without knowing the validity of you words. With the Paladin vouching for you, as well as the others saying we was to quick to judge," he glances at Brianna and Vatta. "You free to be on your way, and I will give your name to the Riders, at Ashbeford incase there is another incident in the area.'

He nodded to you Drow, something he thought he would have never done.

Soon the tables were together and the serving wench had brought out a couple of pitchers sof ale and mugs for those who did not have them. After serving the drinks she offered the inn's Bill of Fare.

Cook has these meats ready: tenderloin of venison, roasted rabbits, fat capons, game pies, and stew. There are also roasted vegtables, dark and light breads, and goat and cow cheeses. For desert there is apple and blueberry pies, and my aunt's famous apple spice cake with brandy sauce.

As much as she hated leaving the Dwarves, to much hung in the balance, the fate of this world and theirs, in time. The only problemwas, Siliwen was to one who was the mage, and choosen by the deitiese or fate, to carry out the task they were sent on. She had the ring, how were they ever going to find their way to the artifact without it.

She always thought it strange that all their hopes were pinned on one egg in the basket, and now that egg was gone.

"He's right we must use whatever time they can give us to get away."

She finally tucked the bit of cloth under her shirt, no need for them to know.

There was not time for tears now, they had to run for it.

She moved easily to the door and turned just before entering. "Just smile," she commented and with the stepped into the inn and crossed the floor as if no one in particulary were following and she took her own advise.

"Ah, Sgt, she approaches the man, I would like you to meet Alexandria, Priestess of Eilistraee. Alexandria, the Sgt. is a Rider from Asbenford. The Riders are protectors of the road from Tilverton to the sea in the east."

"Now Justin and Alexandria, let me introduce you to our group." She points to each one and names them. "Vatta, very handy with a bow and a good protector. Xuor, our ranger and a excellent archer. Brianna, a Amazon fighter and a astounding rider and horse handler. Flame you already know, and Logan, another fighter, but I am not sure where his is right now. Myself, I am Lorae, Paladin of The Light, and sometimes bard."

"Now has anyone ordered dinner?"

She spoke so openly, that other patron who were gawking at Drow, finally closed their mouths and went back to their drinks, though many eyes still were focused on the Drow.

"Brianna, Xuor, How about pulling some tables together. She grabs up some chairs and bench to clear the way for them move the tables.

"Innkeeper, What is your bill of fare this evening." she calls out arranging the chairs and beckoning Alexandria and Justin to sit.

Subject: Lorae-Something About Those Eyes

Her eyes, They were large and strangely multi-colored. Pale yellow surrounded the pupils, blending into a paleish green before turning into a silvery gray, then a deepedy blue-gray ring surrounded the irises. Beyond their color was the look in them. It was said the eyes were the windows of the soul. Her eyes did that and more. so much more that it was easy to fall into them, most did not, for there was something just within the pupils that warned those who tried to look in, not to.

"By the Light, I so swear." Lorae replies formally.

"Now, gather you things and let us return to the inn. We have vouched safe for you with the Riders," That was an odd statement, considering they knew nothing about the Drow. "There will be only the locals animosity to deal with."

"Flame, you had best warn Brianna we are returning shortly."

"By the way the way, I am Lorae, this is Justin, a new member," she point to the obvious druid, "and the scamp on you shoulder is Flame, and please do not feed his ego."

Lorae moves up to help her if she needs any assistance in regaining her possessions.

In the Inn.

The Sgt looked to Brianna and nodded. "I'll take you word, warrior," Thought he did not say warrioress Brianna knew he was honoring her with his trust.

As the others came in there was a brief discussion between the Riders as to the missing Drow.

"I hope you know what you are doing, Sarge," one of the said at the end of it.

"Now, then," said the sgt, ending any further discussion over the missing Drow, "we are being treated to dinner and drinks by the heros of Eventide, so mind you manners."

At the Stable

Lorae moved forward seeing Justin and the invbisible Drow and Flame. To anyone who watched her she seemed to glide over the ground whether it was flat or rough. She was dressed in her silvery gray riding leathers with the delailed applicaies of ivy leaves. Around her neck was a medallion showing an eight pointed gold star with four great points in gold and 4 lesser points in silver. Around the star circled a sinous dragon of some very white metal with scales cut into it so that they refracted light in many other colors, like tiny rainbows

Beyond seeing that which was invisible, she first saw the auras of the young woman and Flame. While Flame was bright with reds, oranges and yellows, the Priestess was more of blue-green, indigo and violets. Justin too was much like the Priestess though green and yellow and for all thare were the other bright colors denoting health and other aspect of the nature and of course each had white about them. There was not a drop of muddinesss in any of their colors.

"Do not fear, Priestess, the Riders are not giving chase at this time."

"I offer you my protection until such time as the Riders are informed of your nature and intentions.

Flame settle more on the young woman's shoulder.

"I still here," he piped out, but lowly as a voice sounding out in the empty air would not be good.

"You go tippy toe, I watch out behind you."

And behind her was Justin heading for the stable as she had invited him to do.

By the time she get tot he stable the grooms were untacking the horses and promising the two Rideres to bring the gear in as soon as they had finished with the horses.

With the the Riders headed for the inn, straight at where the Drow cleric was positioned.

Her heart almost slowed to a stop as the specific moment came when the Drow turned in the sky and presented herself for a perfect shot. Elendil went utterly still, not even breathing and she adjusted her aim to fit the movenet of the flag and the range and elevation of her intended target. When all was right, she released the arrow so that it went off and an upward trajectory. Climbing in the night sky towards it intended traget, the drow in the sky. The world faded away as Elendil watched the flight of the arrow, willing it to fly true,

In a precise arch, Elendil watched as her arrow buried itself in the heart of the Drow. "By Corellon's Grace," she said to no one, it was that type of a shot. She firmly believed Corellon guided her arrow. Credit given where credit was due. Elendil was not one to blow her own horn. She always sought prefection with her archery and every other skill and talent she had, it was a part of Elven nature and how she was brought up. Excellence in all things.

Elendil moved to just off to the side of the gate and with a mighty shout, and then cried out in Goblin, "FLEE, ALL IS LOST, A GREAT HUMAN ARMY COMES FROM THE SOUTH."

Elendil will set extra arrows into her left hand to be ready to shoot those fleeing, when they had exited far enough from the keep to give her some margin of safety. She shrugs down in her cloak pulling the hood up to help hide herself.

If you would like to get you feet wet, I could help you out by doing a solo with you so you can get the idea of what rules-based play is like. If you want I can roll you up a charater to start out with and send the information to you. Then I can set up a setting and have to play through it while learning how rules based goes.

To make it easiest I would suggest a fighter type. I have a fun game that I use at Game Cons with -500 EX (expierence point(s)) players. That means you start out as a common person who, because of circumstances, takes up the weapons of a fighter or ? to handle a situation.

You can PM me about a solo.

Maybe, after a bit of playing, I can get a couple of others to join in so you can get an idea of what happens when there are others in the group.

Alea clutches the bit of cloth and is suddenly shocked as she feels herself being pulled up. She was ready to tug on the rope to tell them to stop, bit realizes that she must be at the end of the rope, so to speeak. With no ground is sight and not chance to call out, she resigns herself to being pulled up. She stuffs the cloth under her shirt and uses her hands to fend of jutting rocks as she is pulled further up.

Finally she feels what she thinks is the upper edge and she reaches up for helping hands to get over to the flat ledge.

Wet and cold, and feeling numb, more that just physically she looks about to see who still stands.

In regular play I have 2 Dwarven female characters, NO, they do not have beards. My first was Sif Axshaft-Thunderfist, she married the High Dwarven King's son. Later I had Killian Hammerhand

So I rolled a name to see what I would get. Tili Oathcarver. I can hear the story now. Famous Dwarven stonecarver was called by the King to to set in stone, a mighty oath he had made. It was carved into the dias of his throne. "I will suffer no Goblin Kind to live." As a result of the magnificent work by the stonecarver the King awarded him a new last name.

From then on a tradition started and all along the halls of the Mountain King Holt can be found thousands of oaths carved into the walls. Oathcarvers had life long jobs.
