"Bronwyn," she hisses in a fast low voice, "Goblin's, they dropped Talon."

Then hoping to cause a distraction she strides to thet edge of the trail and yells out in Goblin, "We've been attacked. Get to the keep, or Bolikar'll have your guts.

At this Elendil drops low and retreats back to about 20 off from the trail and runs through the edge of the woods to where Talon had fallen. Her heart is racing and she hopes her ruse works because she does not think she can take all of them and Bronwyn was no fighter. She is hoping the Goblins’ fear of this Bolikar was enough to have them leave immediately and not take the time to try do anything about Talon. She slings her bow and draws her sword, ready should any of the Goblins try to take up Talon, That would delay him, if the others run off. Talon might be down but he was not defenseless, his great talons were still deadly dangerous.

"Riddle, we are not going by way of open air, we are going by undergrounds ways. So I think the Dwarves need to lead."

She softens her words by smiling. True, Riddle had been there guide since they had arrivedm, but underground ways were best left to the Dwaves. Even outside they would have the distinct advantage of knowing the area, where Riddle would know nothing abo0ut this place.

"When did you notice it was missing?"

"Oh, Goddess!" DM exclaimed, "Has anyone seen Grugg about?"

Is it possible to shoot from where she is? As an Archer she would be moving through the goblin territory with with an arrow notched in her bow.

DM launches into the Ballade of Ivan Skavinski Skavar and Abdul Abulbul Amir.

The Sons of the Prophet and brave men and bold
And quite unaccustom to fear,
But the bravest of these, is a man I am told
One Abdul Abulbul Amir.

When the needed a man to encourage the van
Or harrass the foe from the rear.
Storm fort or redoubt they had only to shout
for Abdul Abulbul Amir.

"That is a good Idea, Thor," says Alea moving over to the supplies.

She approaches the leader of the Dwarves first, "If you please you have knowledge of the ways we will travel, can you help me select such equipment as we will need and an amount of rations that you expect I will need."

"Thor, Billy, Siliwen, I suggest that we each carry our own rope, rations, water and whatever so that if one of us should fall, we did not also lose needed equipment."

Alea does not want to lose anyone, but she was being practical. For the Nth time she wondered how Corellon could have ever chosen her for this mission. She had never been the fighter type of cleric, though like all Elves she had knowledge of longsword and bow. Her spells were limited so she felt like all she could really do was patch and pray and defend herself and sometimes not even that. Not exactly the type to be on such a heroic mission.

Alea will await some assistence in choosing the needed equipment. As she waits she looks at her spear, but it had deen of good use fending off the creatures the hsve attacked them. Now it could be a problem in the tunnels. "Do you have a shorter shafted spear, a really shrp one? Or could you cut this one down a bit?"

Chris--I always learn it by Radius--ray coming from the center. Diameter, like a round cut diamond so all the way across. It is called mnemonics, a trick to key a concept to a word.

Dragon Mistress inclines her head to the newcomer, a bit scruffy looking, but practiced in his assessment of the common room.

Time to play. She lifted her harp and started with a lively tune the got feet stamping, and hands clapping in time with the rhythm.

Elendil pauses to check the direction of the wind. If they are up wind, or in case they might move into an upwind position she will stop and find some pine branches and rub then all over herself, Bronwyn, and the pony.

Everyone called her Dragon Mistress, it fit. At first glance, everything about her was Eldritch. She was tall and slender with whipcord tight muscles that showed under the shimmering sapphire blue of her skintight pants, tucked into her tall boots. The boots were crimson with blue and scarlet accents, were intricately overlaid, inlayed, and stitched in graceful patterns reminiscent of Elven work. A scarlet silk shirt was open provocatively to her breasts, revealing a tantalizing look at her feminine globes, just enough to tease. A vest worked like her boots was over her shirt, and a wide scarlet belt studded with white and yellow gold encircled her fine waist from which hung a stunning swept hilt long sword in a scabbard of matching leatherwork.

She had a long-standing agreement with the proprietor, she got her meals free when she played and sang. She was Bardic trained and had a repertoire of all manner of music including quite a few bawdy ballades. A favorite was the “Near Sighted Knight and the Old Whore.”

She stopped in the doorway and took in the layout of the room and its occupants. Then she moved in, her walk was graceful and cat-like, yet she was poised for any possibility. She swung her head to the side to throw back an errant braid of shimmering metallic silvery-gold hair. Today the sides were braided and the rest of her very long, slightly wavy tresses hung free down her back passed her tight tush. Her skin was flawless and honey biege in color, with an almost metallic sheen to it. The plains of her face were exquisite, her large eyes set well apart without seeming misplaced, her nose was slightly upturned and her brows winged up towards her temples. There was a point to her ears, not a much as a pure elf but more so than a half-elf.

She gazed about the room with her unusual eyes; anyone meeting her look felt the intensity that bided its time behind the strange hazel eyes. For those who knew her, who had been close enough to view her large eyes set in a slant on her finely boned face, knew how strange they were. The centers looked to be a pastel yellow that faded out into a silvery-gray rim, between the yellow and gray the middle area of the eyes appeared to be pale hazel green, and the rim of the iris was a dark bluish-gray. Inside the irises were metallic gold flecks. Woe be the man, women or creature that caused those flecks to turn fiery red, and dead were those who caused the flecks to turn golden flamed black.

She moved up to the bar. "Excellent," she sighed looking at the hand written Bill of Fare on the slate board. "Your have my favorite dish, the 5B Burrito. I'll take one now and a mug of apple juice." (For those who are new to the tavern, that is a Belly Busting, Bug Bear Burrito. Moreover, for your own sake, do not tease her about the apple juice.)

Today she carried a case on her back in it was her favorite harp. After ordering, she went to the dais to the side of the room where entertainers could perform. She pulled out a chair and set it in the center of the stage and opened the case to draw out a stunning masterpiece, an Elven sung triple stringed harp of red gold wood. The song-carved main piece was covered with the bas-relief images of all sorts of real and magical animals. Some said that when she played the animals moved about or turned to look at members of the audience.

Dragon Mistress did not need the money, but she put out a cup all the same, what she earned was testiment to her artistry and musical abilities. She tithed her donations to the Temple of the Light or to the poor of the town, or the widows and orphans of adventures who did not come home.

It is easy to see what the occupation of the village is by the hides stretched on racks and the tanning pits off to the side and downwind of the village. The center of the village was like many others, main buildings about a open area. It was there they found the inn/tavern that served the villagers as a main meeting place and a general store. The inn boasted the name of "The Green Stag" and the sign sported a fairly well done painting of a 20 pointed green stag.

Also around the village green was a blacksmith's shop, and Bowyer, a Fletcher, trap maker, and a fur trader. A number of older children were playing on the green, but the smallest children were not far from there parents. It would seem that had been warned of the unrest in the Cormanthor.

Elendil stops and turns glaring at the tiny human female, though she doubted the young woman could see her face she had a coif of the camo dyed cloth over her face with only a small opening for her eyes.

"First," She whispers with a slight hiss, "we have to skirt the Keep so we have to go south, but the gobs went southwest so we will go west until we pass their camp and then head south and find the road."

"I WILL be stopping and have Talon scout the camp, If there is any chance to save the human they speak of then I will."

"Think of being in his or her position, waiting to be eaten. If I can do anything to aid in their escape, I will do it, but I will see that you are safe before I do that."

Elendil sighed and turned back south west to parallel the direction of the Goblins at a safe distance, far enough away from them that should Bronwyn or the pony misstep then it would not be easily heard.

She was here for many reasons, least of which was Bronwyn’s payment for acting as her guide and for another the Elven Council, where she had been working as a Ranger, had wanted some direct intelligence about what was happening in the south, and lastly, because she had the feeling that she had been recognized by those sent out by her family to find her and bring her home. So here she was, hunkered down by a rock, ready to trail her favored enemy.

Elendil moved keeping Bronwyn under her cloak to help her hide. One of the things she had done before they set out was to have the small human buy a gray set of clothes for travel. Then she made up some natural dyes from walnut and oak, and blueberries. She took the clothes and wet some areas and splattered water on other areas, then she poured and splashed the clothes with the different colors of dye. Where the cloth was wet, the colors were diluted and in other places, they blended, making other shades. Where it was not wet, the colors remained more intense. In the end, what Elendil made for Bronwyn, was a set of camouflage clothes, much like what she wore under her cloak.

“We will move their way,” she whispers, but away from the keep. I fear it is not in the hands of the human inhabitants of this land. We will go further west and then south. First things first, she stands and goes over to Bronwyn’s pony and takes up a strap that was hanging around its nose, having been threaded through the rings in the ponies bridle. She tightened the strap so that the pony could not open her mouth and give them away. She had done it before on their long trip over the Starspires, so the pony was used to it, though she did not like it. Next she got out four leather padded hoof covers, to soften the pony’s footfall. The first time the pony wore them she picked up her feet like a trick horse, now she wore them without a problem.

She walked to the back of the pony where she had built a perch for Talon, her Eagle Owl. (Looks like a Great Horned Owl, but bigger with massive talons) She put out her gauntleted left hand and took the great bird onto her forearm. Calmly she stroked his chest and then swung her right hand about her signaling the big bird to circle around them as they moved to keep an eye out for trouble. With a lift of her arm Talon took to the air flying silently through the trees.

“Follow me, and be careful to step where I do.”

She moves with extreme care, and when she has to, she will move a branch or deadfall to keep Bronwyn and the pony from stepping on it, though Bronwyn was learning to be as quiet as she could.

"Come on people lets get to getting on with this. ANd evereyone keep a look out for bubbles. I Bet if we break them while they are high in the sky the occupants will fall out and go BOOM," and for effect Zara threw her hands up into the air.

She mounts her mule and Looks back to the rest. Moraglin was going to be fun, more fun than Dae who acted like her mother. Alex was a fount of knowledge, Oko was neat and so was the new man, Clint, and the bear was going to be fun too.

The days starteed out easily, with a low ground fog as the rode down the hill and into the scrub oaks the clunped about the grassy low rolling hills. Lazy streams were crossed here and there, giving them the chance to water the horses. The sun beat down on them from a bright blue sky. Ground birds were startled up as the horse disturbed their coveys. Crows fly over head hoping to see something to scavenge. Higher up a pair of eagles circled lazily on the thermals also in search of food. Rabbits darted in and out of their warrens and squirrel scampered up trees to chitter at them as they passed.

By noon the group come upon a fair sized creek running by a gigantic old live oak.

"Look," Pointed Zara pointing to a far off three of good size, "shade and water. Time for food."

"Last on ther has to make lunch." Zara kicked her mule into a run, and that took a bit of side thumping. She shook her reins at him.

"Run!"

As Elessarae untied each of her group, she left the ropes lightly tied on each person's off hand, so that they could quickly wrap the loose end around their primary hand in case someone came to check on their bindings. She tells each in whispers, that they could use the ropes as garrots.
