Subject: Kas

Kas never even tried to open her mouth, Anything Linnix had to say was to the wind. Kas was not there to listen. There was something about Linnix that bothered her. She seemed so centered on herself, Linnix first and all others last, last night was a perfect example of that. When Kas asked for help to save Artanis, sLinnix quickly and flatly refused, and was uspet because her sleep was disturbed.

Yes, she was upset by Linnix, who was so vociferous in her denying aid to a comrade. Kas never used any words denounce ot belittle Linnix, she passed no judgement on her. The words disloyal, selfish never touched her lips, though they fit Linnix's actions. All Kas did was state the facts of the matter, Perhaps she was wrong in displaying her anger.

~~Tyr, I tried not to judge, but only report what I observed. I believe I let my emotions show. Please help me to make just decisions."

Somewhere in the back of her mind were all sorts of homilies that had been drilled into her as she grew up. Some came from her trainers and teachers, other seemed to come from nowhere.

Kas turned from the others, perhaps it would be better to go, though where she did not know. Kas went to gather her things. She took the time to rebandage herself. The bandage that was put on last night was bloody, she had felt her stitches open while they worked to get the ladders out of the pit and later in helping Awhen she had leaped toher horse and rode out of the cave ready to join in a battle. She dug out bandages and salve, then cleaned and dress her wound and wrapped her middle tightly.

"You just sometime have to tough you way through it," the memory of a voice came to her, but it was a voice out of a void, an emptyness, and that void seemed to be growing, or was it that she was noticing it more and more. She tried not to dwell on it, but it kept popping back up, the idea that something was missing out of her life.

Frontline fighters by definition arr the big fighter types with lots of armor, they are the dedicated fighters and those that are fighter something lke Kass being Paladin too.

Atbest and Loriel are have the intermediate fighters light or no armor, ranged weapons and melee weapons but we were never made to stand on the front line and bear the brunt of battle our hit points are up to there as well, We also have armor restrictions, I cannot wear heavy armor or medium armor by class definition and you cane where medium and light though you are not well armored as of yet. Though we are skilled with weapons, we are not front line fighters. and I haven't seen Aelistaw her using her sword as often as the spelldasting.

There was no slight intended it is just the system that works that way. I think we can agree that Xarus, Artanis and Kas have acted as our front line fighters. Linnis is out backstage fighter, I specialize in ranged weapons and Elesia, and You are spellcasters though I do believe you have fighter skillls as well but I am just not sure I haven't read your character sheet.

A smile returned to Aelistae’s lips, and she felt her spirit’s lift…until Kas decided to advertise her plans to hunt down the bandits that had attacked the night before.

"The common folk have enough problems to face, besides dealing with their own kind preying on them,” she explained, as if her reasoning was infallible.

“The common folk really have a problem if you’re the one looking out for them,” Aelistae found herself quipping in response, her earlier frustration making itself manifest once more. “The reason they attacked was because you ran off in the middle of the night without telling anyone where you had gone. That left the camp unguarded, and disaster nearly struck as a result.”

“If you wish to go chasing after bandits, go. I will not stop you, and nor will I mourn your absence. But do not expect me to follow.”

Kas looked to Aelistae, “I do believe you should know the truth of the matter before assuming as you did, though I find it strange that you accused me of running off and not telling anyone when it was Loriel who announced to everyone, right after we returned here and rejoined the Bart and Elsiaand we had heard there story about what happened outside while we inside. Loriel’s exact words were.”

"I am just going down the center corridor. I plan on jumping the pit and checking the doors out and calling out for the woman, if she is not gagged, then answers, then I will return for help to get her out."

“When no one offered to go with her, I took on myself to lend her what back up, I could.” Kas does not point out the fact of how physically hampered she was by injuries, it was not important. “Artanis, too, made the decision to come help. Loriel checked out the first room went on. Artanis followed behind and went into the room that Loriel backed away from. A fight ensued and then I believe the shield exploded killing the Orcs an almost killing Artanis. I ran back here to get help. Aelistae, you were not here at the time and Linnix flatly refused to stir herself.” You can hear Kas’s outrage as she makes the statement about Linnix. “Only Xaris came, and he helped me get the ladder out of the pit, but then he went off to explore what was behind the door in the pit and did not return until later when the finally went across the bridge to hellp Artanis

Kas pauses to look at Aelistae and all the others. “I find it hard to believe you are the same group of people who banded together to save me, and yet when one of your number rightly went looking for the truth about the possibly captured boy and his mother, most of you sat back and did nothing to help. Teamwork allows a small group to succeed where an army might fail, but you are not a team, not by a long shot.”

Her golden eyes sweep the group, assaying each of them, weighing their actions and words so far. It was time for another home truth, when she speaks, her words are justly biting. “I suggest you all apologize to Bart and go home; you will never succeed in his quest as you are right now.”

Subject: Asheera

Asheera stepped out side the temple of Khoronus and moved down the steps so gracefully it was as if she was floating. At the bottom of the steps waited what could only be a War Horse, a dark palomino with silvery-white mane and tail and a odd cresent shapped face marking, very much like the silver cresent moon that adorned Asheera’s deep green tabard, with the thin, ornated cresent moon of Corellon emblazoned on it. The stallion was taller that any Panon Panaw had ever seen. He was broad chested, short backed, with a long arched necked and a powerful set of hindquarters, and most strange of all there was a horn set in his forehead, just above his big violet eyes.

Next to the horse was an equally big cat, like none Panon had ever seen before, it was the size of a large pony, it that the ears of a lynx, the cheek hair of a tiger and an oddly colored coat. A silver taupe faintly spotted with deep green and brown roan spots (A mixture of the base color (Weimaraner dog color) and the deep green hairs and brown hairs. His coat was of medium length with slightly longer hairs about his ears, around his neck, on the back of all his legs and on his long tail. There was also another horse, wearing packs, who was also of excellent quality and size.

Asheers take him right up the to the animals. “This is Isili’lamar, Moon Dancer in common,” at the sound of his name the big stallion dropped his small muzzle into her hands to receive a caress on his velvety nose, “and this is Andoran, a beggar of food, a moocher, It translates to Moochie”

The cat looks to Panon expectantly, Panon could almost swear Moochie was smiling, as the cat eyed him with his deep green eyes.

Okay, Kas,” said Loriel, “now what are we going to do with these two men and how many got away. We have to sleep and they will have to be watched over unless you have another plan. I can and will set Moonshadow to guard them but I would like to know what your plans are.” Turning to the man she looks at him flatly, “Woe to you if you try anything other than roll over and sleep. Moonshadow is entirely capable of taking you down.” The huge wolf-Cooshee cross is a massive creature standing almost 4 ft to the shoulder weighing is at almost 275 pounds. Moonshadow hearing her name looks up expectantly to Loriel her mouth open wide in a wolfish grin white fangs glitter against the deep pink of her cavernous mouth and she yawns wide and then snaps her mouth shut hard. The sounds of crunching bones could be imagined very easily.

“We will tie them and I can also set my warhorse to guard them. Then we must sleep.”

Turning to the man as she gets out a length of rope to bind him, “Where would your comrades go, do you have a camp in the area?”

[[Reply]]

As everyone else settles to sleep, Kas finds a place off to the side. She unsheathes her sword and holds it out before her.

“Tyr, today you have graced me with your divine power, for this I am deeply grateful. Your have filled my mind and body with your beneficence. You have aided me in my quest to see that right is done in the name of Good. I promise to uphold Justice, reveal the truth, punish the guilty, right the wrong and I will be always true and just in my actions. I will seek to learn the laws of all lands and keep a record of all that I do so that I can learn from my mistakes. I will be vigilant and observant to better identify those that would seek to do injustices before their actions threaten law and order. And I will deliver retribution to the guilty for those that can not do it for themselves.”

The prayer goes on unvoiced and Kas pours forth her heart to her new god. In her mind’s eye she sees Tyr as he first appeared to her, a figure glowing with divine power, a tall and mighty, ageing warrior, blind and missing his right hand.

Once her prayer is done she leans against a tree and pulls her cloak about her, sitting up put less strain on her stitches. In the morning, she rises before dawn and prepares to travel. She sees to the prisoner's natural needs and then reties him to the horn of Sunfire's saddle.

As the other rise she greets them, and when assemble she tells them she wants to hunt down those men who ram off last night.

[[This will be depend on whether the brigands have a camp nearby, or a place where they holdup between raids.]]

"The common folk have enough problems to face, besides dealing with their own kind preying on them."

Cross is too large proportionally than the text below it which should be raise closer to the top banner I would prefer you drop the cross because what you want people to focus on is to read the text below "Jessus saves" bit. drop the cross.

IF you do use the cross made it smaller and perhaps more elaborate than simple one you had. A maore elaborate cross graphic would be more in keeping with the theme that really has nothing to do with christianity at all. Also cross is not propotioned correctly itself. Top of verticle line should be equal to the two arms and the lower one twice the distance or less.

I would like to see the red dragon logo in place of the cross That would carry the message that I think we want to give otherwise it is to religious looking and a lot of people wont get dow to the bottom where the real message is

On a less Christian notw you could also have

God is Eternal (or something like that)
RDInn logo
All other roll for damage.

She was very happy Oko remembered to use the alias that they had given Septimus. In fact she liked the name far better than his true one.

"By the way I have already ordered the horses groomed and saddled.

Zara will then tuck into the plate she had piled with food. Even to Oko's view it was a substantial amount. Partway through the meal she will take two pieced of toast. slather them with butter and jelly, pile on some scrambled eggs, sausages sliced the long way, bacon, and some cheese. Folding it up she wraps it in a small cloth. Seeing Oko's eyes on her she smiles.

"My morning snack," and she tucks it into her haversack hanging on her side.

Yes Elessarae did warn everyone to avoid contact with the goo. That was why she was stripping you and was going to wash off your body with water from her waterskin. If you had not been unconscious and then sequestered from the group by Alyssia you would have found that those of us who were under the tree have removed pieces of clothing that had been contaminated by the goo and they were burned.

Elessarae saw Alyssia come toward her, and she knew she come for the sword.

"I would like to hold Draven's sword please. He requested I bring him his sword" she fell silent and smiled to her friend.

In that moment she spoke up "I also wanted to thank you for trying to save him. But you had done so much that I had to do my share" she offered and explanation. Yet her mind was forming the real words she wished to speak. Did you see anything? Will Draven still be able to travel with us? Thousands of questions raced through her mind, yet she did not voice them.

Elessarae took the sword hilt across the back of her right hand and brought and lifted the blade on her left forearm, extending the hilt to Alyssia. “His blade wants him,” she said as Alyssia grasped the hilt.

Alyssia accepted the sword that had been given to her and she thanked Elessarae anew and returned to where she and Draven were hidden from the rest of their company.

Elessarae watched her return to her hidden spot. An unusual sword, she thought, for an unusual man.

Once she is gone Elessarae turns back to the others awaiting their next move.

Alea spent some time in deep thought after leaving Alacran. She questioned herself and berated herself for not sensing that the old woman was Evil. What sort of cleric was she that Evil could trick her so easily? Cold quiet camps at night at the end of each day’s ride gave her too much time to dwell on her failures and she had no solution for the problem.. Each night she spent time in prayer to Corellon, asking the same questions. She feared that she was unequal to the task they had been sent on. She was not the fighter that Billy, Thordinsl or Riddle were, and she had already proved to herself that she lacked as a cleric.

After a lengthy time in prayer and reflection and then preparing her spells for the day, Alea would fall into an exhausted sleep, waking only for her turn to stand watch.

This night she slept as Alacran's portended companion arrived.

Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: Elessarae

Elessarae, in the mean time, wandered around the battle field, helping where she could. She had taken Draven’s sword from the ground where Alyssia had snatched him from her well intended handling. It was a strange weapon, crafted in a form she had never seen before; long, flat and only slightly curved. It was like a breed between a long sword and a rapier, but still different. And there seemed to be an unbalance in it that pulled it to one side. But when she turned she could feel the unbalance shift in her hand. Going back and forth with the katana, made her realize that it was pulling towards the bushes that were covering Alyssia and Draven from her gaze. Stepping closer she knew for sure that the weapon was longing for its master.

Elessarae started for the brush that hide Draven and Alyssia from her view to return the magic sword to its master, but something distracted her from this discovery. She had passed the place where Wolf had been kneeling, clutching his head. Now, the sylvari warrior was gone. The screaming had stopped at some point, but none of them had noticed. She flashed her eyes over the grass field, and finally caught him, standing next to the willow. He was in a trance it seemed, gazing at the tree like it was a long lost lover. Red goo dripped from the branches onto his helmed head and shoulders, staining his bright, long hair. His longsword and shield hung loosely at his side as he took in every detail.

Immediately Elessarae moved that way, for the tree was not entire cleansed and the goo that was dripping on the warrior could do him harm. Only Elessarae’s move to Wulf was paused as the man began to hum to the tree. She had thought at the beginning that somehow Wulf was connected to the tree. Not only did he lead them directly to it, but she not believed that his sudden collapse to his knees and his screams were not due to the lizards, but more probably to his connection to the tree. IT made some sense. His voice seemed to voice the screams of the tree.

As she watched Thondrek, Malius and Quilanday finished chopping the lizards into pieces big enough to burn. Casting them into the fire one by one they were distracted by a sudden humming. They turned towards the tree, where the sound originated. They could see how Elessarae was also staring at the willow.

At its base stood Wolf, and from his body flowed a song that was both as pure as a refreshing waterfall, but also as rugged as the roots of an ancient forest. The tune caught them all, even Loda, Geim and Gothard; possibly even Draven and Alyssia who still remained unseen.

Through their bodies flowed slow waves of relaxation, but it also made them very aware of how heavy their arms and heads were. Their vision blurred, and vaguely they perceived Wolf stretching out his hand towards the tree-trunk, going through the bark as if it didn’t exist. Then the warrior stepped forward, and they tumbled onto the ground, rolling forward and landing on the soft earth.

When they woke up, the sun was already casting long shadows over the field, and the fire had been reduced to embers that smoked softly in the wind. In the distance they could hear the song of a bird praising the beauty of day passing into evening.

They felt as new, like a week of nursing comfort had passed over them. Refreshed and confident they rose, to find the white willow showering the field with glory. It had healed like they had, and undergone a transformation as if it had been a ghastly cocoon opening up for a rebirth of beauty. Its bark shone like mithril, its leaves almost radiated health. Gone were the tears and the twisted branches. They had grown into lush bearers of life. Gone was the goo that dripped down in overflowing pollution. And at the base of the tree lay a helmet, a shield and a longsword.

Elessarae continued to the tree and reached out to reverently touch it. “Be at peace,” she said simply.
The young Bladesinger reached down and picked up the shield and the helmet, lastly she reached for the hilt of the sword. “Wolf, I would honor you by taking up your sword. It is my quest to rid Sylvaria of this threat and all others.”

She was not sure what connection the willow and Wulf had, but the effect of their merging was miraculous. Slow tears fell from her eyes, for the those that had died before they knew of the danger about them. It hurt to think they sat eating breakfast while hundreds of Hith Elee’s citizens were being killed. She also wept for her mother, tears that she had held back when Lady Quilanday had inform her of her mother’s death, having died protecting others in an attack by MAOUS in Sillarion. Her wonderful adoring mother who had taught her all her initial swordsmanship which made it possible for her to enter the Bladesingers academy and a very young age.

The new Bladesinger added a private prayer to Adaron (Kith-Jora) thanking him with all her heart for his aid in healing the tree and them and request a boon of him, to be there at her mother’s funeral in her stead. As she wiped away her tears she let them fall from her fingers onto the roots of the willow.

“Adaron’s blessing on you,” she added touching the willow one more time. Finally she turned to the others and walked back carrying Wulf’s armor and weapon.

“We do need to see if there are people still alive, that survived the attacks and roars of the lizards........and take care of the dead.”

Only then does she remember Comrade and she whistles to him. He also need healing and she is not sure if the range of the healing that had taken place would have reached him wherever he had gone to.

Elessarae's crisp clear whistle sounds out through the nearby woods.

Subject: Alea

Alea looks back and sees that the Dark wedge seems to swallow up all the light around it making it look like a blot of disease upon the land; the wedge is headed straight for the Inn. As it moves across the grassland it leaves a burned looking scar behind it as if the tread of their feet sucks the live from the very ground upon which they trod. The sight of the wedge sends shivers down Alea’s spine.

Suddenly the wedge stops and they can see a lone robed figure standing in front of the wedge barring its path. They can not hear anything except the wind and the galloping of their horses but it seems as if some kind of conversation is happening. Then without warning the Shelnak at the apex of the wedge draws a 7’ long triangular metal rod and wielding it like a weapon lashes out at the smaller man before it.
Gouts of red power are flung at Alacran from the metal rod of the Shelnak leader only to be batted aside with gestures of the man’s staff.

Alea grasps her Holy symbol and prays to Corellon to aid Alacran in this battle against the Dark One

The sight of Alacran fighting alone against such a powerful opponent so that the party can retreat causes some hesitation in the group; but even as the thought occurred they all heard the mage’s voice as clearly as if he were standing in front of them.

“Do not turn from your path,” Alacran’s voice said, “this foe is beyond your power. Flee and stay on your mission… never fear.. I will survive this as this Master is not so formidable… I will send you another ‘companion’ later whose purpose may not be clear but he will aid you I am sure … for I have been preparing him for this mission while waiting for your arrival…. Good luck my friends… keep heart and never doubt your ability.”

The thunderclaps from the lightning and the clash of powers can be heard above the noise of their pursuit as the party crested the rise and then rode over it leaving the battle behind them.

Alea has never ridden this hard before in her life. With a constant prayer in her heart for Alacran she leans close to her horse and become one with her saddle. Every second they rode put them further from the terrible threat of the minions of the Dark. She breathes a sigh of relief as they make it to the forest and the shelter of the trees. They are forced to slow down for the sake of the horses, to keep them from tripping on tree roots. Finally sensing the exhaustion of all their horses they slow to a walk until they find a place to rest the horses and themselves.

Alea tends to her mount pulling the saddle and blanket and when the horse cools, she brushes it, remembering a lesson on the chief Equerry of the Temple, never brush a hot horse. Once cooled and brushed she take her stallion to drink, only allowing him little water now and then later letting him drink more. A foundered horse would slow them down and thus endanger all.

“Now what?”

Draven was unmoving when Elessarae got to him, and she could tell that he was dying. What had happened in the fight? Elessarae did not know this man but she had heard enough about him to know he was greatly renowned for his prowess in battle. And she could see in his golden eyes, that he was a being that never accepted defeat. Grabbing him and dragging his heavy corpse away from the tree and onto solid ground, she took a moment to inspect the damage. He was pale as wet snow and tendrils of blood were running from his mouth. He wasn’t breathing, but his heart was beating faintly.

He needed to be healed and to be cleansed of the plague that festered at the foot of the tree. Without hesitation, the Knight began unfastening his black, leather armor. Beneath his equally black clothing were soaked with the vile stuff. Withdrawing her dagger, she began to cut away his tunic, from the collar…

His chest was pale and well shaped from years of physical conditioning. Scrawled across his pecks and spiraling down under his clothing, black, knot work tattoos marred his smooth skin. This however, was not where her shock lay. The jagged mark ran from beneath his right collar, and down across his chest was astonishing. A scar? It smoldered like hot coals, but it was not hot to the touch. If it indeed was the result of a scar being healed, it was unlike any seen before. Scars weren’t supposed to burn…And moreso, they would have been utterly fatal…

Within moments her world was unraveling, perhaps their enemies were defeat but now she had an obstacle to overcome. Draven had confided in her to keep a secret of what troubled him long ago in their journey. Her love for this man was what kept her from turning a cold shoulder to him after hearing his secret. He had confided in her, and together they hid his secret from the rest of the group and now they would see his scar. Thankfully he had hidden the mark that showed his secret. When she noticed Elessarae start peeling off his clothes she threw herself over his body but her frame was smaller than his and a portion of his scar was visible to the woman who had begun undressing him.

Without thinking Alyssia covered his body and dragged him away from the party to where she would clean him. Surely the party would think that she simply wanted Draven for herself, more for the reason of infatuation than the reason for which was true.

For Elessarae the act of stripping Draven of the offensive apparel was none without any maidenly qualms. The naked body was a thing of beauty, only Draven’s beauty was marred by a smoldering scar that went across his body. Elessarae did not even blink at the sight, she could not be slowed in the tasks of saving Draven from the accumulating effects to the tree’s poisons.

With a desperate cry, Alyssia landed on his body, covering the scar. Throwing the cloth back over it, she pleaded with Elessarae to let her handle this…. Some may have been stunned at the suddenness of Alyssia’s actions and her cry of distinct agitation. Elessarae stood and backed away leaving the warrior to her

Hoping to keep him concealed she had dragged him away from the party simply saying "allow me, I feel as if I owe it to the party to take care of him." she had spoken hastily.

“He needs healing,” comment Elessarae without reaction to Alyssia’s actions, “I have a wand of Cure Light Wounds if needed. You will also have to strip and burn your clothes since you just polluted them.”

As Alyssia did not ask for Elessarae to heal him, she assumed that she had the power to cast healing spells, or that she had potions for such. Nor did Alyssia give an excuse for her display. Since she knew very little of these people she did not judge or question.

Elessarae had been going to help with the lizards, but Lady Quilanday and Thondrek were already hacking at their necks. Immediately Elessarae turned back to see if Loda needed help with Geim. If she is needed to help get Geim free she will do that first, donning her oiled boots and gloves and putting on the extra cloak, and entering the soggy ground under the tree.

If she is not needed her gaze in that direction, and back along the path plowed into the soggy ground by Draven’s heels will reveal a lone sword. Rather that donning her boots again to traipse across the tainted ground she wove the spell Mage Hand, and then reached for the sword to bring it back to solid ground. (I am within the proper distance and if it is just a long sword, or bastard sword I can lift it.) Once she has it she brings it to her and lays it down on the good grass.

Elessarae will finally looked to where Wulf had been left crouching, assailed by some unknown force that left him incapacitated and she will go to him.
