Subject: Lorae

Lorae calls on the Light to heal Brianna, and then does the same for Highnar.

As Cerric pinpoints magical items she goes out and gathers up whatever she can find. She returns with a sack of stuff including a few weapons. "I suggest that we wait to check these things out after we help out with the cleanup."

"Sir, she turns to the Rider, I suggest that after things have settled, the people of the area come here and gather all the common weapons and things, no need to leave them for the enemy to retake."

She turns to Logan. "Logan, What do you want the goblin for?"

"Brianna looks up at Lorae. "Highnar and I could use some of your healing Lorae. We were both hit a couple of times. It is not too bad but it would be better with it if the fighting continues."

"C'mon Highnar let me get you boosted up on your horse." Lorae can take care of us both then."

The group takes off to the north road, hoping to get to the crossroads soon so that Septimus could rejoin them. One on the road there were the usual travelers, and farmers brining their crops to market. At on point a nobleman and his small retinue passed them heading to town.

Villages and farms become fewer and fewer, woods and wildlands become the norm when they drop into a ferile dale where a number of farms cluster about a village set at the crossroads.

"There are a number of points of magic about the field, and there were two magic users among the Orcs. None of it should be left." Lorae looks to the others. "Cerric, can you use you skills to help locate the magic items that are scattered about with the dead?"

Subject: Elessarae

A young Sylvari man walked from the bushes on the side of the road, carrying a bow that was now pointing at the ground. He smiled.

“Elessarae Isiliri of Megilindar Nost will not sleep in the stables in our town. We gladly offer you a room at our inn. The Solanis Paean may be a simple place, but the food is good, and the beds will give you a better rest than the forest ground. I am Aluwego Marrienbark, very honoured to meet you.”

The young archer bade her to follow him, and he brought her to the stables first, where they left Morae and Comrade. He explained that they had received a letter of warning from Sillarion, about the infected trees, and about the heroic deeds of the bladesinger Elessarae Isiliri. He had never thought he would meet such a hero in person. She could see that he was quite thrilled, but also surprised at her age.

They first left the horses at the stable, and a sleeping stable boy roused from his sleep took Morae in hand, though Comrade wore no halter, but he did seem to follow the boy.

“Both have traveled long and hard,” said Elessarae trying to hold her jellied legs together, it would not do for her to collapse on the ground. She was surprised that there was news from Sillarion already, and more surprised that her name had been added. “A good brushing for both, and a light feeding of grain with their hay.”

As they needed the inn and set of hooves moving rapidly brought Aluwego to alert. “Take ease,” she had turned and saw the pale body cantering towards her. Elessarae’s hand went out to stay him from raising his bow. She should have know that Comrade, her shadow, had come to be with her.

As she went to enter the inn her shadow entered with her, bringing a strange look from the archer, and then from the yawning innkeeper who must have been alerted of her coming by someone else.

“I am sorry,” apologized Elessarae, “but he is my ward and does not like to be parted from me. “Could you see he gets food and water?”

The innkeeper allowed him to enter the building but when the young stallion tried to follow her up the s,tairs as he did in the High Druids Tower, the innkeeper would not permit him to go up the stairs, where Elessar received a room with the most comfortable bed she had slept in since she left her home. The innkeeper told her that he would bring her a quick meal before bed, but when he left, she sank on the bed with her clothes on, and left the daily world to enter a state of healing paralysis.

She woke up the following morning, feeling fit again even those few hours of sleep and been a balm to her body. As much as she would have liked more sleep, she had news to relate and questions to ask and now was the time for that, she could sleep later. The day had already begun and a the sun was entering her window. A ewer of water and a large bowl provided for her daily ablutions, and clean clothes help raise her spirits. She hurried for Hunger drove her.

Just as she finished dressing a rap and a voice asking if she were dressed came through the door. She moved to the door and opened it.

"There was a company of travelers downstairs who were looking you," said the innkeeper. "They had asked to see the Lady Bladesinger. I need to know what to tell them.”

“I will be down in a moment, but I ask that you send for you town council, and any druid or sage you might have.”

A moment later he left, after promising her an elaborate breakfast.

When she descended the stairs, she was first greeted by Comrade. The young stallion was looking up at her and neighed softly. She looked him over for running her hands over his sleek body checking for any signs of injury. He had been her shadow through thick and thin, her moonhorse shadow.

Then she noticed the group of people sitting in the common room. They were staring at her, and in their eyes they could see that she was not who they expected.

The Lady Bladesinger that facved the group was tall for a Sylvari, taller than most males, and slender as a willow, yet as she moved to examine the young white stallion, muscles rippled under her fair skin, where it showed. Her silver hair was braided back and hung down her back to her waist. She was dressed in tones of gray with matching boots. Even among Sylvari she would be considered a beauty, and as she turned to fully look at them they could see her youthfulness, for a Sylvari, she was only a teenager. and that fact did not match up with her calling. Bladesingers were not teenagers they were experience bladesmen and warriors who meet many strignet prerequisites before earning that title.

At her left hip was hung a fine scabbard with an elegantly hilted long sword, which hinted that the blade hidden in it was of the same caliber, and the matching dagger hung at her right hip.

Her silver eyes had dark rings which intensified the look of them, so that when she turned her full attention on the the strangers, each member of the group seated at the table felt they were the object of her silvery stare. In her eyes, there was a look of puzzlement and interest. Behind that there was something more, if someone took the time to figure out what else was hidden within those silvery orbs.

Elessarae moved forward towards the table and Comrade followed, as his hooves drummed on the plank floor she made a note to have leather covers made for his feet when next he entered a building.

“Good morning, I am El...,” Elessarae caught herself before she just gave her name like she had before being made a Bladesinger, “Lady Elessarae Isiliri."

The look of puzzlement suddenly changed to dawning. “Excuse me, the last 4 days have have taken a toll on my mind,” Elessarae adds and as she says that a flash of something crosses her eyes, “I was sent North to join a group of adventurers, I hope you are them.” She did indeed hope that, for what she had experienced while she was alone since leaving Megilindar Nost had had a tremendous impact on her. Being a part of a group would be a relief.

Just then Comrade bumps her arm she smiles, “And this .........” Elessarae pauses as another name fills her mind, it was there all along, from the very beginning, “this is Moon Shadow,” she turns to look at the Moon Horse to see if he agrees with the name, “also called Comrade. He is my ward.”

Alea listens to Billy's words.

"Perhaps it is our smallness and frailness that will work in our favor. Who would imagine that ones such as ourselves would ever dream of standing against a powerful evil. Perhaps the evil one himself will pay us little or no mind; seeing us as no threat to him and his designs."

She lets him finish his speech, "Sorry to disillusion you about the Dark One overlooking us. He sent the Nas'sir to stop us knowing we had arrived and approximately where, and next time he will send more of his minions to stop us."

Unfortunately for us, we are here and what happens here will effect us, for I see no way home, the Voices that spoke to us did not give us the option to go home."

"As a servant of Corellon I see the need to do this thing to keep Evil from overrunning the elves their forests as his armies unlease their war on the island."

"I have placed my faith in Corellon and will hold to it."

"Three weary travelers, replies Elessarae, I am Elessarae Isiliri of Megilindar Nost. "We have traveled far this day and seek shelter and food."

After her first encounter with Flame Tower she wondered if they would allow her in, appearing as she did out of the night, especially after seeing how they they had barricaded themselves. She might had gotten down to seem less threathening, but she could not trust her legs, afraid they would collapse under her. The last couple of hours before arriving she had caught herself nodding off. At first she got off and walked, but the last time she had to hold onto her saddle to not stagger.

"May we please enter and be directed to where I can find stabling for my horses, I would even sleep in the stable with them."

Elessarae was more exhausted than she had even been in her life. What with all the had been happening in the last 3, or was it 4 days, it had to be well passed midnight, but under the thick canopy of trees she could not see the stars and there were only glimmering of the moons so she could not judge it position.

So to the men posted at the barricade and challenging her, all they saw was a slender young female who seemed to young to be riding around at night in such dangerous times.

Young and yet a seasoned warrior might recognize the look in her eyes that mirrored her experiences, eyes that had aged quickly. These last days had taken there toll on the young Bladesinger, a teenager by Sylvari standards, albeit a dedicated one to have achieved Bladesinger statis at her age. These people might even think she was a student there.

"The enemies attack was thwarted," speaks the woman, looking about her. "The warning we got enabled us to set up our defenses. Then somehow the Orc's and Goblins' attack went to Hell in a Handbasket. It seems that the war bands on the left side were under manned. The battle was soon over and we were able to catch a major part of the army and surround them. After that it was an every thightening circle of death until the vast majority were dead. Now we are just running down the stragglers."

"That is because part of the left flank is here," Lorae says pointing about the glade. "We drew them off hoping to lessen the number of attackers."

The woman looks at Lorae and the others now joining the tall female and the Dwarf.

The Rider looks about as it counting, that back to Lorae. "There is over 3 score I can count."

"It was closer to 4 score, but some are wrapped in vegetation."

The Rider look to the 7 comrades, SHe looks around as ifg seaching for others. "Certinaly this is not all of your company?"

"Of course they must learn to defend themselves. Farmers already have weapons they know how to use scythes, hoes, pitchforks and axes. Then there are nets and gaffs the fishermen use, with those spurs on the Na'sir's legs, a weighted net could really tangle them up. Barricades of sharp pointed sticks could be made easily, and trip ropes. There are all manner of things the common folk have they could use. Even teens with slings could be of help."

She looks to Billy as he was the most against an army. "The army is not first and foremost, but it will be needed if the Dark One is to be completely routed."

Looking back to the others, "From this map I can see that happening in a way the Dark one would never suspect."

"If, as you said, Anya, the it seems the Dark One is preparing to move into the Lowlands, then in the long run we need to vacate the people closest to where they will come out and leave the land stripped. I believe they need the food the Lowlands provide. Without the needed food they will be weakened. Then we bring in whatever we can get from the Elves and posssibly Dwarves the come in behind The Dark Ones army not only cutting off their supply routes but that they are caught between two armies."

Siliwen just sat back and thought for a bit. She listened to both BIlly and Alea speak. SHe now figured out the the sun traveled backwards from what they knew they were not in their home world. "You both have brought up valid points therer are things we must consider. We are not an army, I do not think we can raise and army but as Alea said the sommon folk can be taught to defend themselves better." She would ask Anya later but the first most important was to think this through.

"If the armyies will not come out to protect them then perhaps we can find some allies. also. I can think of two possibilitesm one to see if we can find the dwarves that may still be hidden in the Grey Peaks somewhere perhaps deep undergrownd, and make contact with the elves if possible. We will need supplies and a plan of action."

"We are not an army but we might be able to bring to = hope to these people and some practical plans that they can implimrnt to protect themselves. If we teach a village how to helpprotect themselves then they can send someone to the next village to teach them. it could spread quickly that way to as many villages as possible. But we must start it. They must be inspired to protect themselves.

"I need to know about these other monsters of the Dark One. I have a few ideas already that would slow the Na'sir. down or perhaps even stop them. What I need to know Anya is the nature of the other beasts so that we can make plans that would help the people stop them too. So now I need paper and pen and whatever information you have on those minions. Do they walk, crawl, run or fly? How big? how small?"

"Sit Billy," Alea says flatly. "Anya, there is more that one god and goddess involved in our being here, so take heart. Unfortunately the Na'sir leader said tha the Master knew of our coming. That puts us on their hit list and it will be harder to work in secret.

"We are not an army, and an army is what we need. Until we locate an army we will need to find out who our allies will be in this. We need information about numbers of fighters on both sides. And we need to draw on the people themselves."

"It is time for the common folk to prepare for war. barricade their towns and villages, gather stores, and weapons. Men and women and even children can all do their part, must do their part if they wish to continue their lives as their ancestors did before the coming of the Dark One."

If I rode late into the evening, going as far as I could that first day and then rode hard from the time I woke fight the fairies and than hurry to get to the town in the dark of the morning--I would think that it would be close to dawn.

Leave it to a guy to change the hours in a day and days in a week and days in a month- etc.

Now I have go go back to redo hours of sleep to hours to no sleep. In trying to figure out how Elessarae would be physically at this point I have been counting the hours of sleep compared to the hours of being awake.

So far it is staggering, By 5:30 am on the 7th day it has four days of 26 hours. In that 104 hours Elessarae has had 23-24 hours sleep, the rest of the time was hard riding and fighting, nor has she had a good hot meal in that time, she must be near exhausted.

Subject: Timing on the Fairie Incident

Because you usually start you post with the time of the beginning of the period of time of the post, I am a little confused on timing for the event with the fairies.

Londelirinen Kingdom
Sylvari village this is where I got the Idea I was at a village It should had been Duin Shee Dalnya
riverbank
6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
7:26 pm

Morya proved a fine horse, but not as special as Gharion had been. She took the terrain with power, but it was hard here at the borders of the Chakran Mountains. The forest sloped up and down, grew thin at times, wilder a moment later. The ground was mushy, saturated with water from the nearby river. It was impossible to keep the black mare at high speed and not wear her out.

In the evening of the same day she arrived at the bank of the Duin Shee Dalnya, the River of the Fairy Footprints. The story of this river’s naming was one Elessarae could not recall, but she had heard of the reputation of these waters. It appeared a calm river, looking shallow and undeep. But it was false to believe so.

The next crossing was a few miles westward, and the bladesinger followed the path along the river. She crossed the bridge over the river when the moon had already begun to rise, and it was then that she noted a glitter across the water. Comrade had noticed it as well, and he stepped closer in curiosity.

Suddenly three silver glowing orbs sprang from the surface, like inverted drops of rain reflecting the light

of the moon a dozen times stronger. They were fairies of the river, and they showed a remarkable interest in Comrade’s skin, light as it was in the moon's glow.

6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:06 pm This seems to be the time of the attack, at the end of the post.

The three fairies hovered around Comrade a little longer before turning their attention to Elessarae. She was standing with Morya at the riverbank now, watching the mare drink. Now they came closer and manoeuvred in front of her face. Apparently they had a problem hanging still, and through their constantly tangled patterns it was hard to see them clearly.

From one of the orbs of silver light came a giggle, followed by a sudden rush along the riverbank. A few yards away it stopped, and danced around in one spot. When Elessar came closer, she noted that there was a dry spot between the roots of an immense tree. It was covered in long grass and big enough to host both herself and the horses. The fairies giggled once more, and darted back under the surface of the river without a splash.

Later that night Elessar woke up from a dream filled with goblins cutting Sylvari throats while giggling like fairies. It took her a second to realize that the giggling continued. Looking around, she noticed Morya standing nearby with closed eyes. Comrade was missing.

She saw him where they first met the fairies. The young stallion was surrounded by at least five glowing orbs of silver light. He appeared to be dancing at first, jumping back and forth and kicking his legs around. But the moonlight reflected a glare in his eyes that told the bladesinger enough. Now she looked better she noticed how they dove at his skin and clung to it until he knocked them off. Whenever a fairy released her grip, it seemed to be ripping a part of his glowing skin along.

NEXT:

Alloryen Kingdom
Duin Shee Dalnya riverbank
6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:06 pm

When Elessar came closer, there was no longer any doubt in her mind. The fairies were indeed after Comrade’s skin, even though the young horse was not ready to part with it yet.

She entered the battle with her sword high, ready to pulverize the little creatures. Her first swing was an immediate hit, and one of the fairies flickered and fell on the river in two parts. But another one of the fairies dove past the bladesinger and aided her sister in tearing Comrade’s skin. They managed to form a tear with their fingers and ripped off a piece of hide the size of Elessar’s thumb. They held on to it together and dove into the water, only to return a moment later, while Comrade was still screaming.
In the meantime, Elessarae Isiliri, tested warrior, attempted another hack at one of the fairies, but missed widely. Then one of the creatures sprayed a silver fountain of lights over her, and for a second she had to avert her eyes. Fortunately, she was not affected by it in any other way.

When she had adjusted to the darkness once more, she changed her tactics. Flinging around her cloak made it hard for the fairies to come close, but was also as tiring as fighting and did not seem to demoralize the fey creatures. More of them showed up now, their numbers slowly growing to what could be called a swarm. Comrade pranced high on his legs and kicked wildly with his hooves, then bit into Elessar’s sleeve and pulled her away from the swarming fairies.
Showers of lights rained over them as the spirits of the river attempted to stop them, but their enchantments were too weak.

(OOC: ok, new choice: run or fight the fairies as a swarm.)

NEXT:

Alloryen Kingdom
Duin Shee Dalnya riverbank
6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
12:43 pm

Midnight was drawing close, and so far Elessar had only gotten three hours of sleep. Now she was sitting on Morya’s back, pursued by silver fairies. She urged the mare to go faster still, but the flying fey came closer every second.
Then, all of a sudden, they stopped, and shrunk into a memory as Elessar heightened the distance between them. Soon, all she could see was a faint glitter, and when the road bent eastwards, she had lost sight of them.

She slowed down, eventually stopped, and beckoned Comrade to let her inspect his wounds. She took out the vial, ready to rub several drops over the ripped skin of her protégé but when she removed her cloak, his skin was whole, as if it had never been ripped. She examined it closely, but could not find any indication that there had ever been a wound at all. Comrade himself peered over his shoulder, at the place where a piece of his skin had been taken by the fairies, and his eyes got big as he too noted that there was nothing wrong.

Since they were up, the journey was continued, and Elessar followed the path north now. Very soon they would get to Hith Elee.

It was deep in the night when she arrived at the town. No lights shone from the windows, and even the moon did not penetrate the high trees that protected the houses and their inhabitants. As she drew closer in slow pace, a male voice called from the darkness in the Sylvari tongue. It could’ve come from any direction, like an echo without the reverberating multiplicity.

“Who goes there at such an hour?”

======================
First question if I meet the fairies a 7:26 pm and the attack happened at 9:06. You posted I slept about 3 hours, but by your post the only amount of sleep I could have gotten was 1 hour, from about 8:00pm to 9:06 PM after taking 34 minutes to get to the site, untack the horses, build a fire, eat, and then go to sleep.

Then after fleeing down the road I get to 12:43 pm (Supposed to be AM as it is Midnight)the fairies have stopped chasing me and that is when I checkout Comrade.

What time is it when I get to the town of Hith Elee?
Because it was to be another days ride. It is hard to go fast at night, though with fairies chasing her, she went faster that was safe in the dark.
