Topic: Garayon - Reign of Darkness
Subject: Alea

"Tell my family," says Alea, "I wish them well, and I am serving Corellon elsewhere."

There was not much else to say, She had left home to serve Corellon and she had, just not in her own world, and yet...it was from her world she was called to come here, to this world she now called her own. What was in store, where there remnants of the evil still to be dealt with? And what about the reclusive Elves of this island, and was it the same on the mainland?

Alea then turns to thank Corellon for his support and his intervention. The auras of her arrows was his gift.

"Soronuume, we can stay near the hill, but it would not be a good idea to camp on top of it, a fire up here will be like a beacon. There may be no people near here, but there may be things we do not want to draw the attention of."

"There in that small group of trees partway to the river, It would give us shelter and there is grass all about it so that we can see all about us, but others will have trouble seeing us."

Tamuril opens her hands to show she bears no weapon and no ill will.

"We come with gifts and bearing you no ill will. We come to speak to you about the humans above and to learn of you here below. But before we do this I apologize for us all as we did not wish to disturb your ceremony to Gubulondil. We would be honored to view the completion of the ceremony, and then, as the gods will, we can speak of other things."

Edited by Almerin: As you very well know, all in-game rolling is done by me. To prevent players from claiming they roll high in dire situations. Not saying that this is the case right now, but it has happened in the past. Therefore I deleted your roll-results.

Tamuril takes the things she is offered. "Be ready to cover me, if things go bad." She moves to the place appointed, lays out the blanket and than sets the p[ieces out. She purposefully set the dagger to the far side of the blanket with the handle closer to where the Lizards would come from.

Then she sits down and waits. If a long time goes by without anyone appearing, she will take out her recorder and play a slow, low melody.

"Well it is better than camping in the open, and if we go in far enough, we can build a fire that others outside can not see."

She dismounts Sebastian and goes to lead him over a fallen wall into the outer bailey of the tumbled down castle.

There is a feeling, almost tangible, as they cross into the Barrens. thoughtout their ride the wilderness becomes less hospitable, the vegetation more twisted and changed. A covey of four winged ground birds scatters into the air before them out of the thick grasses that grown in clumps.

By the evening the group searches out a campsite, and sees in the distance a ruin of what seems to have been a castle.
On closer examination they find tha it was indeed a castle and about it the crumbled mounds of what had bee a good sized town. Now thet walls have fallen in and only two of the towers still stand.

The wind howls and whistles over the rocks, and are filled with the calls of the wildlife. It was the only shelter available to them.

As each of the riders follow the dragonettes into the vortex each of the horses will slow as the mists obscur the ground. the red mare that Devon galloped into the vortex drops to a walk. Ahead of him the shadowy forms of the dragonettes swirl the mists with their flapping wings, this is what Devon follows into the light. Each of the others who enter can see the mist enschrouded form of the one who entered before them.

Devon is the first to break out of the mists, as suddenly bright daylight fills his eyes. Each of the others do the same. Precious is dancing in the skies doing aerial acrobatics and trilling a song of delight. Flames hovers in mid air looking about in wonder. The horses stopped soon after coming through, their eyes needing time to adjust to the brightness, as do their riders. It had been twilight when they rode into the mists, and now the sun was high overhead.

The five riders now stand on a low rise above a shallow valley a fews miles wide and it slanted off to their right as the small river that ran through it headed off in that direction. Behind them rose a range of white headed mountains and all about the rim of the valley were verdant forests of evergreens and decidious trees. A scattering of trees and bushes also dotted along the meandering river course.

A pair of hawks circled in the bright blue sky searching for a meal. Rabbits, whose warrens were scattered about the hill top, popped up to see who was disturbing them. The warm sun beats down on them and a crisp light breeze blows down the valley.

"I concur, I do not want to use violence when diplomacy will do. It brings to mind part of the epic of the Lady Bladesinger, Elessarae. She had gone to a village to destroy an Ogre that was being controlled by some goblins and she ended up helping to set him free, later he did the same thing for her and her companions."

"Does someone have a blanket, I want to put some things on it as an offering."

Subject: Alea

Alea felt the pain in Siliwen’s words. “Siliwen, I have had the same feelings as you many times in the past weeks, since Corellon sent us here. At first I silently rage and wondered why all this was happening to us. Bit by bit I accepted the reasoning that Corellon had called us for a purpose, then we learned from the Mage just what we were here for. After that all I wanted to do was finish quickly so I could go back to my world, back to my people and family, my forests, and my home.”

“Up until the fight, even through it, at the very last desperate stand we made as the gem shattered, had I been given the option to go home then and there I would have taken it. So many things flew through my mind as the darkness enveloped me. I thought of all the things I had not yet done, like continue to serve Corellon, improve my fighting skills, and improve my skill with the harp, paint and write poetry, and there were things I had wanted to do while on this world, to find out about our people here and their reclusiveness.”

“It may sound strange, but at the moment when we were given the choice to stay or go, I thought of the first time I left home. The pang of leaving family and friends and the forests I knew was difficult, but then there was a greater world open before me. Many of those who leave home never return, because they find something beyond that part of their life to fill the void. I will miss my family and friends, my home and my world, but I have the almost contented feeling that Corellon’s choice in sending me here was more that to just to take care of one problem. So when it came to the moment of choice I had no qualms in saying I wanted to stay, even though I will miss my family and friends. Maybe it was easier to me to say stay because I have put my trust in Corellon and her has answered me.” Alea thought of the glowing of her arrows and knew that Corellon had indeed answered her prayers.

She paused and looked to her friend. “I understand your pain, and I will miss you if you choose to go home.”

Alea lapses into her more familiar silent self, after delivering the longest speech she had given since coming here.

Mora took the RAing of Protection. "Trillion, you can choose next, though I am not sure this man should have anything as he seems to have questionable morals. He was disguised this morning as an old man when Ninian and I meet him. He also followed me in a surreptitious manner. And given the fact that he absconded with valuables that belong to my family, whether my parents knew of their existence or not, leads me to not trust him, on top of that he seems a bit deranged."

The mists were magical, or the area was, the telltale pink glow of magic was all about them. As they waited, after Nimu's winds began to swirl the mists, the vortex deepened, creating a sort of tunnel as their end darkened the other seemed to show a glow of light.

Precious, who had been clinging to Alexandria's neck and shoulder suddenly stirred.

"That way!" She cried out, "That way, to get home!"

She took to the air with Flame beside her. She fluttered in front of the group. Flame was sort of looking at her as she stared down the tunnel into the faint glow of light.
