"There y'are Mo! I see you got a friend too! What can I get ya? Our special today is a nice soup with rabbit, beef, and chicken mixed in." The friendly, booming voice of Hector interrupts the cloaked man right before he begins his tale. The young, burly bartender smiles warmly at the two of you. His dark blue eyes gleam with warmth, and his shoulder waist length blond braid is neatly tied behind his back.

"Make it 2 of everything, big bowls of soup, some of your mother’s crusty bread, butter, honey, two mugs of fine ale and some fruit tarts and anything else my companion would like,” Mora orders for them., then turns to the man. "Ok. let's hear the story."

As Hector returns with what you ordered, and the special which the cloaked figure ordered, Hector says, "Look, I'd love to talk to ya Mo, but we're real busy tonight. I'll catch ya some other time. Enjoy!" And with that, he leaves the two of you, helping the other patrons.

After slurping a bit of the soup, the cloaked figure beside you coughs, and begins again. "Alright, so as Oi was sayin', I got a good story for ya. I found this cave out a little ways right? A right big cave, very nice. Oi was feeling kinda tired, so Oi decide to go in and try to sleep right? Nice and sheltered, ya know. So Oi goes in there, and what do I see?"

He stops, his head turning either way, to see if there's any listeners. He leans closer, so close you can feel his breath, and whispers. "Oi sees a dragon. A big dragon. Wings and everything? It blew acid at me - acid! - and Oi decided to run. Oi escaped just in time. Oi had to tell someone. And Oi mean, you seemed like a pretty lass, ya know? Felt like it'd be nice to tell ya. You wanna come and see this dragon? Oi swear that's what it was. Real one. In the flesh. Oi wouldn't lie to ya."

“Now what would a black dragon be doing around here,” she whispers lowly to him, “and why would I want to risk my life to go see it. Even if it was there.” and she doubts it, “then it would be gone now since you found it out.”

“When was the last time you saw it and how far away is it?”

Shadow trying to look upwards is a comic sight to see and horse's eyes were not mean to look up. As Oko untangles Shadow's mane from the back feet of the dragonette it keeps chuckling merrily.

"Teee heee heee heeee, big stud, niiiiiice." Finally free it looks at you as running its swirling gole eyes up and down you body.

"Yu niiiice tooo."

Off to the side Zara appears with her mule in tow, or was that the other way around as Sebastian was leading and Zara was being dragged.

"Hey Oko, Whatch got. Did Alex change again. At least he is a better color."

Suddenly the golden creature latching on to Shadow's Halter and so the it tail was in his eyes and the head snaked down to give the big stallion a draconic kiss on the nose. Then it spun around and climbed onto his head and half lay between his ears.

"Giddyup." it squeaked. Shadow tried shaking his head and neck, but to no avail and the golden dragonette was holding on to his halter with its front feet and his mane with his back feet.

After every attempt to rid itself of this pest Shadow did the only thing he could think of, Go to Oko for help.

WIth a thunder of hooves Shadow cantered back from the creek with the golden Dragonette perched between his flicking ears.

He stopped dead in front of Oko and dropped his head into the Felani's lap.

Subject: Elendil

As others went up to accept their cloaks Elendil stood and excused herself. Elendil was at odds end, so to speak and she had things to attend to, which meant nothing as she had her own worries stemming from the Runner’s use of the title Lady.

She had considered Lord Bartholomew's offer to act as a liaison for the Elves, but she had given her word to do this job and it was not yet done, for that she had to decline the offer. It was a good idea, had the Elves and the humans been more in alliance, this problem might never have come about.

Over her time on the mainland she had come to feel that the Elves retreat to Evermeet was wrong. It allowed evil races to fill in the void. There was word that had come from The Cormanthyr that Drow now held the Old Elven Court. It was a sacrilege for that to have happened. In the old days the Elven cavalry and fighters stanchly held the forest borders against all the evils about them.

She went outside and found the corral with the horses; stables had yet to be built. She had asked Bronwyn for the use of the horse Lord Bartholomew had offered her, but she a good as turned it down, if she decided to stay. So much for that idea. Perhaps there was a mount she could buy, her eyes went over the stock and finally came to a dark silver dun that was heavily dappled.

She held out her hand and called to it in Elven, “Come hither, Pretty One.”

The mare lifted her head and looked over to Elendil.

Never had she fought like this and in the depths of her being she knew it was wrong, not wrong in killing those trying to kill you, but the killing for entertainment. This had to be stopped the whole practice of injustice, slavery, and intolerance was wrong, morally and spiritually.

"Light grant that I live to see the day when these games are put to an end and those who perpetrated them are punished. Under thy Light there can be no Xenophobia."

As the lights dim Shandra prepares for the next battle.

I had written most of the post up to adding the poem and the battle hymn from Chakran Portal with bits a pieces of the story in verse. Then the computer hiccuped and I lost it. In time I will replace some of the story parts with actual verses of the song.

Will be working on the last part this week.

Almerin--I need to know some stuff about the Chakran Khords, I had a feeling that they were being enslaved and forced to work the mines. But I need it to finish my ending and to know if the Portals where useable, as I have it that the Khords used the portals to bring troops to free the Chakran Khords and then that army would move to attack the goblins with a elven army coming over the hills to trap the remnants of the Demon's armies in the valley.

I also figured that knowing that the trees and animal were infected by the essence of the Demon then killing him might cure them, and if not a banishment spell could also work--I would think.

It had been since before leaving the Goddess's Grove that she had the time or the need to be one with a tree. Her heart slowed, her body slowed and her mind slowed. It took time to listen to a tree, but it was just as good as meditation to relax the body into a state.

She could feel the flow of liquids up and down the tree, this was the peak season for growing, precious nutrients were making their way to the leaves and the food to sustain itself during the winter, soon the time of sunlight would be lessening.

After coaxing Alex from the tree, and helping his change back to his own form, Zara roams about the campsite getting the lay of the land. Should anything happen in the night she wanted to have an idea of where things were, not that she would not be able to see, her night sight was just as good as her day sight, and that was excellent.

She then goes to get Sebastian to take him down to get a drink of water at the creek. Half way down the bank Sebastian snorts and bolts for the water. Zara was jerked of her feet and went flying after him as her literally jumped into the water. Splash went Sebastian and splash went Zara. By the time she got her feet under her and was spluttering out water the spotted mule was rolling merrily in the creek.

Zara let go of the rope and worked her way to the bank with a string of curses coming from her mouth that would have cause a dockworker to blush. She quickly shut her mouth and looked about hoping no one heard.

With a pass of her hand she was dry.

Meanwhile Sebastian was not standing and pawing the water making big splashes. Zara scrambled up the bank to a rock to watch as Sebastian then dropped down on his other side and rolled aroung in the sandy bottom.

Subject: Tamuril

As others discuss the merits of one of the monestary's own joining them Tamuril unpacks her harp a tunes it. It is a double stringed harp of great beauty, its golden wood shined to a mirror finish.

She took out her copy of the epic song in common, she had one also in Elven, but doubted those that lived so far from Sylvari lands would know the language.

Once the decision is many for the man to join them, she invites all to come a listen.

"Please Brother, let all come to listen, it has been long since I could play and sing, the desert is not the best place for such, it dries the wood and the voice."

She took a long drink and set out the musical sheets, she had written herself. she had copied them to a scroll so that they could never be mixed up, if dropped, and it was easier to turn to the next section.

When others came and settled theselves she began with a series of melodies as an introduction.

“This tale I tell is very new,
the story is known by very few
Outsides the Realms of the Sylvari
Hear now the Song of Elessarae, Lady Blade Dancer

A cadet of Megilindar Nost, was called for by the elder host
For a testing, a testing, to go aquesting.”

Testings are secret, but blood was drawn.
Yet the young Bladesinger passed on the power of her song.

Tamuril goes on to sing of Elessarae’s journey to Sillarion to say goodbye toher parent befor retuning to Megilindar Nost, the Bladesingers Keep to get her assignment. Then came her first meeting with the Demonic Owls and her defense of the Moonhorse. She tsings of the stricken mare leaving her colt in Elessarae’s care. The young Bladesinger went on the the Capital going to see the High Druid, and another battle with the Mutated Animals of Unusual Size, and her return to Megilindar Nost and then being sent off to join a group going into the Chakran Mountains to delve into the mystery of the Chakran Khords disappearance while she was to scout out the Goblin problem.

Tamuril sings of a night spent in the swamps between the River of Light and the River of Floating Flowers and of the story told of the Lotus of Light and that it grew when the waters of the two river mingled. Along the way the Bladesinger came across more evidence of the MAOUS killing and doing damage to the forest; squirrels as big as ponies attacking people. Elessarae was turned from Flame Keep when Comrade, the Moonhorse colt followed her into the tower and a Sage getting most annoyed. She was sent to a village a bit away.

Once getting to the village Elessarae found it taken over by Goblins, with a big Troll under their control. Worst was news of some tree that had been poisoned by them that was the cause of the MAOUS. She rides back to the Keep and Sages say they must have a Lotus of Light to made a antidote for the tree. The Gods move in mysterious ways and that night in the swamp Elessarae had poured water from the River of Light into the ground sodden by the River of Floating Flowers. With a hard ride back to the swamp with a guard, they searched for it, most of the night, but it was Comrade who found it in the morning.

After a potion was made the young Bladesinger, a young Mage and two guards were sent to find the tree and use the potion on it. The Goblins alerted the first time she had been there were ready now and a fight ensued. Elessarae took out the Goblin's best fighter and their captain and she stuck his head on her sword to intimidate the Goblin horde along with the Mage's Wall of Fire. The two guards were killed, by the Troll and then the Troll grabbed up the Mage. Just when Elessarae thought she would have to fight him the Troll handed the Mage to her and went off to kill Goblins, he had been enthralled to the Goblin Captain and once the Captain died the Troll had was free. With his limited intelligence Goroptk reasoned, Goblin hurt and taunted him, Elf set him free. Help Elf. Kill Goblins.

“Hear now the very Words of Elessarae at Runya Nost, Flame Keep after returning and before leaving for the North.” Tamuril still the harp and her voice rang out, as she thought young Elessarae and spoken,

“This is for those who risked all to save you. You know we faced a Troll, and thought him to be the greatest danger, and for Hivalus and Mirnando he was, but he was only a captive driven by the Goblins to do their bidding. Once free he saved the life of Luronya, bringing her safely to me. If you see a Troll about and he answers to the name of Goroptk, then salute him and let him continue to hunt goblins.”

“Now this is for those that died and well as for those that remain.”

“For the Sake of the Sylvari

For the Sake of the Sylvari four set out, to put an enemy to route,
A mage and two guards with her, and a newly made Bladesinger.
To fight a foe and heal a tree.

And to the village they came, the village without a name,
For those who lived there had died and no one cried
As all were dead.

To face an overwhelming force, two guards went out of course,
It was their duty and they died and one cried out,
For the shame of it.

Scores of Goblins and a Troll, did take their toll.
The guards had little chance, so great was the enemies’ advance.
They gave their lives for the Sylvari.

Their sacrifice helped to save the day, helped keep the enemy at bay
For Bladesinger and Mage, had their own battles to wage,
Until the day was won.

By the Grace of the Deities of Good, at the end of the day two still stood
To see the poisoned tree set right, with a Potion of the Lotus of Light,
For the sake of the Sylvari.

The day was done, the battle won, with the setting of the sun.
Time to return, time to rest, having passed another test.
Two went back where four had come.

Say their names with pride, the two guards that died,
For the Sylvari they did save, Hivalus the Bold and Mirnando the Brave.
Salute them, all Sylvari.

And forget not Luronya the still standing Mage who singly faced a Troll enraged.
Her magics helped to save the day and cause the Goblins to run away.
She, too, saved the Sylvari.

And Gharion who carried me from the start, his loss broke my heart
Valiant steed that he was, died for the cause
Leaving Comrade and I alone.

Oh, I lament for those that died, I am the one who for them cried.
Oh, why did they die alone, so far from their home?
Oh, where were the Sylvari?

Rise up Sylvari, defend you land, the enemy is now at hand
Take sword and bow, hunt them high and low.
The Sylvari are under attack.”

Tamuril paused from her recitation, “Next is Lady Elessarae’s Battle Hymn.” She takes up her Harp again and begins to play a must martial tune.

(To hear the music go to http://www.contemplator.com/wales/harlech2.html the first little bit in an introduction and then the song starts.)

Rise, Sylvari, guard your Forests!
War has come both Dread and Glorious.
We must Stand and be Victorious,
Warriors of the Light.

Rise, Sylvari, to Defend us
Least the Enemy do Rend us
Doing all that is Horrendous
In this, they must Fail.

Stand we now with Fervor
In this great Endeavor
Weapons ready, warriors steady,
We face the gruesome foe now before us

Sylvari Warriors, on to glory
See Battle Standards famed in story
Waves these buring words before ye,
"Sylvaria shall not Yield!

Rise, Sylvari, take your Stand,
Cast out the Evil from our Land,
With Sword and Bow now in Hand,
Warriors of the Light.

Come we now before the Foe
Gathered now to bring them woe
With sword and spear and full bent bow,
The enemy shall not stand.

From the trees resounding,
Now our war cry sounding.
Summon all at Sylvaria’s call
The haughty foe now surrounding

Onward! Now Sylvari warriors,
We are here to be Victorious,
Doing all that is Good and Glorious,
Warriors of the Light.

Tamuril let the harp go quiet, the story was not yet done, but her voice needed to rest and she needed more to drink.

"After I rest I will finish the story, and tell you how Lady Elessarae got her new last name."

But the time she finished it was well into the afternoon. Such ios the way of Epics.

There would have been a time when the sight of a Drow in a city was an immediate death warrant, but 600 years after the Dragon Wars, the breech between Light and Dark Elves had been closed as both sides found themselves together fighting for a common victory with Humans and Dwarves and other neutral to good humanoids.

She took in a long cool breath of sea air. 600 years ago Badon was a inland town, then when the continent broke as the dragons shrine split off from the mainland at the end of the war, Badon became a seaport and a major transport hub. Morasennarion loved the many strange people that came through, though they never caused the city any trouble. She loved to listen to their tales of other places, of epic battles, of heroes and heroines, of dangerous quests, and lovers.

Nearing the tavern she hurried, least one of her sibs finds her. She was supposed to be home, either helping her father or her mother, she was their daughter, but she was nothing like them. Not for her the duties of faith, her full Drow mother was a Priestess of Eilistraee and though she had taken Eilistree as her Goddess, it was not to serve her as her mother did. Morasennarion had taken to the sword like a fish takes to water, She learned all the forms and dances that were used to honor the Goddess, but she wanted to use the forms in a completely different way. Drathir An'ar Kenlyl (Moon Dancer Sworn to the Blade) her mother and her Drow and Gold Dragon father Zekaun Linath (Dragon Song, of the Noble Line of Dragons) often argued about Morasennarion, who seemed not to follow her mother or her father’s occupations.

“I would be pleased if she did follow me, I have more than enough patrons who pay well for my instruments,” Zekaun said one late night a few years back, thinking Mora was asleep. “The girl has a love of music, an excellent voice and a talent with harp and recorder, but it is not in her to make musical instruments, though she could easily take up the profession of Bard. Dear Heart, we must let her find her own way.”

Mora was on her way to to take up the training of a warrior the next day. It took a bit of time to to find esactly what he wanted, but in time she did. To repay her parents for the price of her training she would train hard in the morning and then go to help her mother at the temple and her father at his shop. Her only free teime was when she went to the local taverns and pubs to gather stories and tunes to play. She found that hse could make a far amount of coin by singing and playing in the evenings at the pubs.

Morasennarion was on her way to the local pub. It had been a hard day at work, and she was in need of a nice drink to ease her muscles and relax her. Walking in to a pub called the Hopping Fish, she walked right up to the bar and sat down. The bartender, Hector, gave her a knowing smile and mouthed One second. I'll be right there to her, as he turned back to the patron whom he was currently serving.

Morasenarion sat down, right as the door chimed again as it opened, and a cloaked figure walked in. Looking around, the figure shuffles along the bar floor, making no audible sound amongst the cheer and mirth of the pub, and sits down right next to you. From within the cloak, a thin, dry voice comes out:

"Eh, you. You wanna hear about what Oi found the other day? I''s a really good find, and you can be the first to know about it. Eh? Whaddaya say? It'll only cost you a beer and a good meal. Which is far less than it's worth Oi tell ya. Oi be givin' you a bargain. Eh? Whaddaya say eh?"

She stretched and concentrating on relaxing her muscles as she gauged the voice that issued out from under the hood.
“Tis natha bwael tangi whol natha statha. Tis a good day for a story,” she says in Drow and the again in Common just to watch for added reactions. She had been carefully watching his body even under the cloak, tell tale signs that gave her information about the old man.
