Subject: Starfleet and Romulan Lower Ranks

I can find the names of officers for Starfleet and the Romulan Galae (Navy), but nothing on the lesser ranks.

I also noted the Sub Centurion. Here is his name Erie’Arrain (Sub-Centurion) Talon i'Iuruth D’mora, I have already put in some information about him. Also I have added information about Sienae.

Now on another note, I swear you read my mind. I had my post ready to go yesterday, except for editing and then you came up with your bit about the Tal Shiar. You can bet the she has nothing to do with them.

I just love character twists and here is another. Sienae is a throwback to her Vulcan ancestors, height and psionic ability. Her mid brain, the psionic center, is well developed. She can also do a Vulcan nerve pinch.

Romulan Warbird Kalad Near SB 10 - 0930 hours

A knock brought Sienae up from her seat is the sparse, utilitarian cabin she had been assigned for the trip to SB10. An Uhlan smartly saluted her. “Captain requests you presences in his ready room.”

Sienae snapped back a salute, “See that my bags are taken to the transporter,” then she reaches down a picks a long wooden box, 40 inches by 18 in by 5 in.

Sienae quickly moved to the ready room and pressed the door com, Arrain Sienae i’Mhiessan Khnialmnae, retorting as ordered, Sir.”

“Come in, Centurion.” came the Captain’s deep throated reply.

The door opened to her and she stepped in smartly saluting the officer at the table and he saluted back. The door closed behind her and the captain tapped a code into his computer.

“Now we may speak freely.” He stood a came over to clasp Sienae’s shoulders. “Is all well, niece by marriage.”

Sienae looked down into her favorite uncle’s eyes as he was shorter that she, and saw the look of concern there. “All is well, the team is ready and at the transporter with the cloaking devises” She knew he meant something more, but it was still a touchy subject for her.

“I know you were hoping for something better after the Kerknow Incident, but wiser minds thought that out of sight would be out of mind.”

“I understand, sir,” It was useless say anything of the situation, nor did she protest against such a worthless position as escorting pieces of equipment, even if it were 2 cloaking devices that would be installed onto Federation starships. Alliances, she twitched, Diplomats need alliances, not the Romulan Star Navy.

“The Tal Diann has screened your contingent,” went on her uncle, “even to the science tech. No hints of Tal Shiar connections have been found. It is not as though our family has not dealt with them before, but the Centurion who committed suicide after he lost his Mnhei’sahe as a result of the Kerknow Incident was of a noble family and a Tal Shiar operative. It was not the family that demanded the Court Marshal of your cadre, but the Tal Shiar.”

Sienae went tight, her body becoming like a rock. “Centurion S'Tokkr in'Aihai Aieme was a traitor and a coward. He could barely hold his weapon when he shot himself.”

“You were exonerated by the court marshal, but that does not stop the Tal Shiar.”

Sienae let out a soft sigh forcing herself to relax, “But I am posted off to nowhere,”

“Niece, the Praetor himself authorized your posting to the StarFleet’s USS Cerberus. Complete this duty and you will be promoted to erei'riov (Commander) and be able to command your own ship or be First Officer on a major warship. Think of that.”

“Now," he said quickly changing the subject. "we will be decloaking in a few minutes, SB10 already knows we are here. There is time to to get to the transporter before we are in range to teleport you over.”

“May the elements watch over you, Sienae."

Her uncle by marriage meant what he said. The Tal Shiar were known to have operatives inside of StarFleet. She knew she could not let her guard down at anytime.

Sienae salutes, turns smartly on her heals and exits the ready room. She quickly makes her way to the transporter and stands ready with her team. First they send the personal equipment, then she and her Sub Centurion and then the guards/techs for the Cloaking Devices, which were hidden in boxes marked Science Materials and would come in the last load to be teleported to DS10.

Stardate: 2374.08.31
Kalad- Transporter Room – 0950 hours

"Please alert the USS Cerberus," Sienae said while stepping onto the transporter pad and watching the others that followed, "that The Romulan Contingent is ready to beam over, immediately."

A golden stare fell on each of her contingent they would be able to beam over to the Cerberus without on the Star Baseanyone being the wiser of their arrival.

She gave each of her detachment a strong look, it was unnerving to most of those that first met her, golden eyes among the Romulans was almost unknown, the closest color was a light brown. Eyes like a bird of prey, many said behind her back. For now she fixed her stare forward and awaited clearance to teleport to the Cerberus. Her personnel were armed with hand weapons, though they were not drawn, they were at hand.

Subject: Elessarae

Most of all Elessarae kept an eye on the Troll, as it seemed the Goblins were running away in panic. She hoped her ruse kept them running a long way. Elessarae now moved toward the Mage as quickly as she could, but not quick enough. The Troll seemingly confounded by the fire and the panicking Goblins suddenly moved straight at the Mage.

“Run Luronya” she yelled, but even as she spoke the Troll was on her in the three quick steps

“Nooooo!” Elessarae’s heart leaped to her throat cutting off her exclamation as the Troll took up the Mage and turned toward the fire and the inn.

Elessarae dropped the head in her left hand and started toward the Troll while tipping the point of her sword down to shake off the head of the Goblin captain.

Elessarae brought her sword to ready as her heart fell back into place pounding fiercely. This was not the confrontation she wanted, alone, but for the sake of the Mage she had to try to free her. She thought her best chance was to make a strike at the hand holding the Mage. Then the Troll suddenly lowered the Mage to the ground on her feet. Astounded by his act, Elessarae was further surprised when the great creature bowed, turned, and ran off into the woods.

“Goroptk!” Elessarae yelled remembering the name the goblin had called him when he had been chained in the stable and it struck her he had just been the Goblin’s captive and not an ally. “My thanks and blessing!” Then she calls, “Comrade, Gharion!” She has been trying to teach Gharion to respond to his name, though there had been little time except when going into the stables to fetch him and calling his name and feeding him a tidbit, an apple, or a piece of honey cake, that were an inn favorite at breakfast.

Elessarae turned back to the Mage, “Luronya are you uninjured?” This from someone covered with blood, her own and some from the goblins, with her clothing and armor showing rents and cuts. “We need to capture some goblins to find out where the affected tree is. The sun is behind the trees and we might not have time of search it out before dark. I am going to try and find goblins to question. Stay with me as best you can. Oh, would you have a spell to make me faster? And do you know where any of the other horses went?”

Spell or no, when Elessarae sees a Goblin she will to run it down, or she will look for wounded individuals. Unless that are still Goblins running about, she goes to each Goblin body in the village square and checks it for signs of life. Maybe that was a Goblin hiding, or one trying to loot a fallen comrade.

The pressing need to reverse the effects of the poisoned tree that created the terrible mutant animals spurred Elessarae to push herself even though she was not fully healed. (I think) Elessare moves quickly and if the horses do not show up in a few minutes she will call again.

Getting the choice of horses settled was going well as Oko, and Jason and Alex had to find mounts the would tolerate them; Oko because he was Felani and Jason because of his companion; Alex just because he was thinking things over.

As each passes the horses some react strongly. When Oko getse the the Gray at the end of the line, she stands solidly and gives off a couple of snorts, but there is no immediate reaction of aggression. The wolverine was another problem as the horses reacted immediately to it scent by backing away, pawing, shaking their heads, pinning their ears and alike.

Well, a wolverine was not the most pleasant of creatures, in temperment and smell. In fact they had some filthy habits. One of which was urinating, or deficating, or spraying on a suppy of meat, so that other meateaters stayed away from it. Then they were muscilids, have musk glands that produced a smell just a bit less than a skunk. With this they marked their territory and there meat.

"Jason, perhaps I can help. Would you bring you wolverine over here."

When he does come over she will cast clean and fresh on on the wolverine. The second time Jason walks by, some of the horses do not show as much reaction as the first time. The two bright chestnuts are completely unreactive to the wolverine.

"There you go," said the Stableman, "brother and siser they be, and sensible. The mare ambles and really so can the gelding, but he must be prodded to do so, she does it easily and naturally."

Now only Alex and Dae needed a second mount if Jason took the two chestnuts.

Subject: Zara

Zara was brushing the mule when Dae, Septimus, and Oko entered the stable and got to the area where the mounts gathered in the Prince's name were stalled. The mule was as tall as Septimus's stallion, and more heavily build that most mules. He had a long neck, well developed hind quarters, and sturdy bones which was untypical of a mule. His face was straight and not overly long, his nostrils were wide, his eyes large, and his ears.....long. His black and white forelock, mane and tail were thinner than a horses, but uncut as was the fashion with mules, mainly because no one could get near him to cut it.

The stableman was busy telling Zara what she had asked of him. "He allows the farrier to do his feet, and anyone to groom him, but he draws the line at handling his ears, I suspect that previous owners had used twisting his ears as a way to control him. The other thing he does not like is bits. When I bought him he still had the carter's bridle on, and when I finally got it off him I found the carter had twisted wire around it and it had sharp points sticking out from it. His mouth was a mess. I had to feed him mashes for a month before his mouth healed enough so that he could eat grass and hay."

One of the stableboys came out with a saddle and bridle, but the saddle did not fit right, and the mule eyed the bit nervously.

"That is the only mule saddle I have, and he is too big for it."

"Never mind, I have a solution for both problems." Zara opens her haversack and pulls out four pieces of Elven Tack. It was made of red leather tooled with intricate (celtic-like) knotwork. with slight accents of purple. Elven "saddles" are treeless, having no wooden tree that formed the base shape of the saddle. No tree meant it could bend to fit the back of any mount, unless it was winged. The bridle was bitless, as all Elven bridles were, in respect of their mounts.

Zara did use the pad that the stableman provided, it was a heavily woven wool blanket, folded and stitched to a partially sheared sheepskin with the wool about 5 to 6 inches long. She then lifted the saddle high onto his back and lightly cinched it. Next she fastened on a matching breast collar and breeching, and finally a she gathered up the bridle. Other than it was bitless it also had a browband that unbuckled. That allowed Zara to open up the bridle and buckle the crown piece over to the cheek piece on the other side without dragging the bridle over the mule' ears to position it and then buckling the browband, and throat latch

"Now, why the browband buckles," the Stableman inquired of Zara, "I mean it makes sense for a mule, but why would Elves make a bridle for a mule."

"Its made for Unicorns and Quorn," replied Zara.

"Oh," was the Stableman's reply

Finally Zara tightened the cinch slowly watching the male as she did, then unhooked the stirrups that were strapped up to the front of the pad. She is now ready with the mule and one of the stableboys has brought up Sunny, wearing a halter for now.

"Dae can you bag all the extra mounts and the pack animals. that way we will look less like we're are going on a long trip."

She hopes the others have choosen their two mounts, so they could get going. She was ready.

Caught in a dilemma of her own making Zara unlatched the gate and opened it wide. The mule stood where she had left him. Then she began to close the gate with a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately the mule began to trot toward the gate while Zara began to shut it. You could hear his hooves hitting the hard dirt of the corral, but he had moved too late to get through the gate as it closed, only he did not stop.

He broke into a canter and then a gallop seemingly to ram the gate, because the fence of the corral was a good 5 feet high. Zara stepped to the side not wanting to be in the way when the mule hit the gate. Two strides from the gate the great beast launched himself into the air, clearing the fence with a foot to spare, his forefeet tucked up to his belly and back feet well out of the way. He landed about 2 strides out from the outside of the fence. Then the loudly colored mule spun on his rear and trotted up to Zara and stuck his nose down into her chest.

Standing at the door of the stable was the stableman, he was shaking his head in disbelief.

"What in the name of the One, did you do to him."

Zara look about, realizing the beast had made his choice, albeit a bit late to walk through the gate. He had choosen her.

"I gave him some choices," replied Zara slipping the halter over his muzzle and starting to put the strap behind the ears.

"Careful my Lady, he looks all innocent until someone tries to halter him then he explodes, he hates his ears being handled."

"He won't explode," said Zara matter of factly, I warned him what would happed to him if he misbehaved."

"And what was that My Lady?" The Stableman was curious to know what had transformed the bane of his existence into a tractible creature.

"I told him I would eat him alive, starting at his tail and ending with his.....ears."

The man started to laugh and did not stop as Zara marched the mule passed him and into the stable. By the time Zara got the mule to where the other horses were the stableman had stopped laughing.

"I must say my Lady that you have gotten yourself one of the best bred mules in the world, and the most troublesome. Can't say that it was all his fault. His dam was one of the finest heavy warhorse in Wexton, she was a Leapard Spotted horse owned by the Earl Marshal of Wexton. After he retired her from fighting she had a number of outstanding foals, then she went barren. He put her out in pasture. Seems his mammoth spotted jack jumped into her pasture and bred her. Lo and behold, the next summer she produced a mule colt.

As soon as he was weaned The Earl Marshal had his chief equerry sell the colt and the poor thing went from one owner to another. His last owner was a carter who overloaded his carts, and when Stomper could not move it, he beat him. At which point the beast kicked apart the cart and spread the contents of it over a 1/2 mile. Then I got him I paid the hacker, meat money for him."

"Well I'm not going to overload him, or never beat him. So now I will ask you for a saddle and bridle for him, and a nice thick saddlepad. And if you have some red barding I want that for him. If you do not have red, plain leather will do."

Zara, turned at the sound of the voice, "Oh, its you." She paused, "I heard what he said, but I have a ring of animal communication, so I can talk to the beast. See he is eating peacefully and I will just speak calming words to him and walk up and halter him."

Indeed the animal's head was down where the bucket was spilled out. Other animals tried to get close, but a threatening rear leg kept them back.

Without heed to danger Zara walked up to the side of the animal, seemingly in communication with it. It continued to eat even as Zara put a hand on its shoulder. The big beast pinned his ears back and suddenly curled his body and move his rump to cow kick at Zara, but as he lifted his foot and held it up seemingly daring her to halter him, he half staggered and put it down with a thump. His head came up and he turned his head to Zara and fixed blue eyes on her small form. And his ears came forward with a snap, ears the went on forever.

The great white and black beast was a mule. His long ears that started out black and ended in white around the upper edge of his ears and the tips.

Zara was stunned when her dream mount had ears a long as her forearm, almost. All her fantasies suddenly came to an abrupt end as her eyes followed those ears up from their black base to the white tops.

The long earred beast was standing stock still now and staring down at Zara, and much to her chagrin she was staring up at it. Finally she took her hand from its shoulder. She fought to keep from looking around to see who might be watching other than Septimus.

She took a deep breath and remembered one of her mother's many homelies, "Don't let your imagination run wild, or you will find reality slapping you in the face." and it did.

[[Well, I picked you]] she communicated to the beast via the ring, [[The Light gives all choices, so you can choose to stay here and who knows who will buy you, and how they will treat you, or you can follow me out of this corral and have a different and better life with me.]]

With that Zara turned and walked back passed Septimus to the gate with the halter still in her hand.

Zara jumps off the fence and trots over to the others. She leans close to the Stableman.

"There are some mounts you have for us." She shows him the ring.

"Yes my lady, they are inside all groomed and saddled. enough for two apeice and pack mules."

"But I want the black and white one in the corral."

The man looks at her oddly. "That is not a proper mount for a lady. He is totally unsuitable, he is unpredictable, he kicks and bites, he is nothing but a trouble maker."

"Perfect," pipes Zara as she wanted a trained war horse.

"My choice," she said with a bit of steel edge to her voice. She had made up her mind that the black and white stallion was to be hers.

"Send one of your boys out to get him, and let's look at the rest of the mounts."

The man looks up to the adults of the group with a sort of pained expression on his face.

"Gentle Ladies, sirs please follow me."

The stableman leads the group inside the stable and down a corridor to the right. As they pass a stable boy and the Stableman says nothing, Zara pauses.

"Please bring me the black and white animal from the corral."

The boys mouth drops open, "Master Brodel, you want Stomper?"

"I want him," says Zara looking somewhat pleased with herself. "And what sort of name is Stomper, I shall call him Sebastion."

The Stableman pauses also and looks back to the groom, "Do as the lady says. Take a bucket of grain with you." The boy takese up a halter and moves off muttering something under his breath.

Moving on they come to some standing stalls where a number of horse stand saddled and haltered, with bridles waiting on hooks to be put on later.

"All of them are of high quality breeding and they are well trained in battle. Three of them can carry heavy riders with ease, and he points to the three on the end. A dark bay stallion with a white star and no other white, a dappled gray gelding with white mane and tail, and a dark red chestnut mare with 4 white stocking up to her knees and hocks, and a wide white blaze. Then there were 8 slightly lighter mounts, 2 bright chestnuts with no white-a gelding and a mare, a deep red blood bay stallion with a white face and 2 with socks in front, there was a ivory buckskin gelding, a palomino mare with a odd star on her head, a red dun gelding, a grulla stallion, and a blue roan mare.

He expounds on the traits of each mount, and they are all pretty equal, except for 4 of the lighter mounts were amblers, with smooth fast walks, the palomino, the buckskin, bright chestnut gelding and the blue roan mare.

Once again, Zara immediately asks for the palomino. "I want her, what's her name."

"She's called Sunny, my Lady."

"A fitting name," said Zara walking up to the mare and rubbing her head and nose. On a closer look, her star was exactly that, well more like how people depict the sun with rays coming out of it.

Just then the boy return with halter in hand but no horse. "Ol' Stomper got the bucket and the back of me pants," to prove that he turned about and pointed to the missing section of his pants.

"Never mind, I'll get him and with the Zara grabbed the halter from his hand and jogged back outside and immediately climbed the fence and jumped into the corral.

(OOC: Ok, I was not entirely wrong, both Jason's player and Alex's player had computer troubles. Jason is back up and running, so far no word from Alex. I have edited my previous posts to reflect that both of them were with me.)

Zara sprints up to the stable and sees a group of horses out in a corral to the side to the Stable building. She half climbs the fence and looks out over the horses. She wanted first choice of the best. Off to the back side of the corral stood a knot of horses, but one stood out more than any of them. He or she was taller than all the animals in the corral, as tall as Septimus’s big stallion, and loudly marked. The front half of the horse was black, what she could see of it because its head was down in a watering trough, the back end was mainly white. Then on the white rump were big black splash marks and on the black were smaller white coin sized spots.

“That one’s mine,” she pointed and turned to the others with a proud look, “the spotty one.” She would look magnificent on the back of that horse. She could see it now returning in triumph from The Barren’s with her seated on her prancing war horse, ears pricked forward, neck arched, tail high like a banner in beautiful scarlet-red leather barding accented with sculptured gold rondels, and she sitting straight and tall in the saddle, humbly nodding to the boistress acolades being heaped on the intrepid band of adventurers.

As she is making her choice an older man comes out to greet Alex and Jason,

“Good day, sirs. How can I help you?”

"I learned from my mother, Mother loves Terrani crafts and such, she also loves bright jewel tones, just like they do and so do I."

Zara skips a step or so, "One of her homilies is--A soft voice and politeness can get one further than shouting and a sword."

Subject: Zara with Alex and Jason Continued

Zara watches as the diminutive woman's eyes clear of cataracts and bright sky blue irises are revealed and the pupils contract as the eyes gather light and focus on the face of the girl before her. Her gnarled hands and fingers straightened, and sigh of profound relief comes from her as the pain of her infirmatives disappears. Tears coursed down her wrinkled cheeks as she lifts her hands to look at them.

When she begings to speak, Zara holds a hand to her lips. "Your tears are far more eloquent than words. Savor this before you alert the others. We have a duty elsewhere and cannot be detained by the cerebration that will come."

The woman looked to the young girl and nodded. "There is something I would give you."

"No need, Little Mother."

"You deny your need, but it is what I need to do."

"Leanara," bring me my little chest."

A minute or so later a middle aged Terrai woman comes bearing a small chest. The chest was carved of a brilliant golden red wood. An intricate carved design of fantastic animals were intertwined about its sides, top and bottom, some had enlays of other colors of woods in them and others were made of enlaid wood(like Celtic Knotwork) and box was also chased in gold. This she hands it to Zara

"Grandmother?" exclaims the woman. "That is your treasured work and grandfather's box."

"And mine to give." admonishes the Eldest. "You will know why soon." She looks back to Zara.

"Inside is a piece I did many years ago when my hands were swift and and my fingers deft. Then I tatted and this I give to you, for the gift you gave to me. Think of me when you wear it, for I will be thinking of you as I revel in my gift."

That said the Eldest gives them a signal to depart and they head out the entrance under the brightly colored canopy. About 50 from it they hear and great commotion of cheering. Zara grabs Jason's sleeve and waves Alex to close in as she weeds her way through the growing crowd. Soon they are at the fountain, but there is no sight of the Felani. A quarter hour goes by, both peering into the crowd looking for the Felani and finally Zara rises.

Just as they are ready to go Septimus rides up on his big black.

She waves at him to catch his attention. As he gets close she whispers up to him

"I do believe the Felani may be at the stable." Off she goes with Jason and Alex following and Septimus behind them.

(OOC Jason's Player's computer is "broken" so I will be NPCing him til he is back up and running.)

"No, I have not had the priviledge," replies the Druid.

"Well watch and I will let you in on a bit of a secret when dealing with them."

Zara then walks up to the first table and nods to the woman displaying scarves and woven trims.

"My name is Zara and I would deal with the Children of Earth Mother, but first we wish to ask permission to pay our respects to your Elders."

The tiny women, yet a full adult stands and nods to Zara and steps out from behind her goods and walks toward the old Terrani basking in the sun motioning Zara and Jason to follow. She leaves them once they are before the elders.

"Good Day, Honored Elders, I am Zara, and I am here to pay my respects to you."

"Ah," said one of the old men, "it is good to hear the proper pleasantries from a youngling."

"Yes, indeed," added the wizen woman seated with the elders busy knitting a pair of gloves she looked up to speak to them and her hands never stopped moving, knitting by feel and long experience. "It is not often heard among the Talls." She looks up and smiles and Zara.

The old woman then turns her eyes on Jason.

The Druid had enough practice with diplomacy that he followed "Zara's lead. "I am Jason Windspyre." and he nods in deference to the aged Terrani.

"You may deal with our children with our blessing," says the old man, "But you must show your respects to The Eldest." He points to the third of the elders seated here. "She can neither see or hear well, but touch her left hand and slightly kneel and she will know that you pay your respects."

The old woman in question was seated in the sun with a beautiful muticolored blanet over her legs. As Zara and Jason approached she looked up from the cap she was crocheting with gnarled fingers. Her eyes were opaque white. She was obviously blind

Zara did just as she was indicated to Jason to follow suit.

They then left to make the rounds of the tables and their wears. Zara quickly chose pieces of clothing, ribbons, scarves, two beautiful shawls decorated with fringe and beads. At each wagon they stopped and she selected her purchases, the Terrani named a price and she paid it.

All the Terrani workmanship was exquisite, the design, decoration, color, shape and form. It was evident that loving care and attention to detail was seen in every piece of arts, and crafts, or clothing.

Zara finally stops at a leather worker's table. "I need 2 quivers that will blend into forest and plain. A pair of men's boots for riding and walking with firm soles and soft uppers, that only partically lace in dark brown. Size does not matter. A sword belt and scabard for a scimaber. That can be in browns and greens. Oh, and the headband in leather with all the decorative scrolling knot work like the belt, it is quite exquisite."

"Thank you Gentle Miss, that is my son's work."

Zara nods to the boy, "Well done, you learned well from your father."

Zara continues to point and the pile of equipment grows and two older children hurry to fetch whatever is asked for. Again she pays the named price and this time she pulls out a large duffle bag that is packed with her purchases and it too disappears into her haversack.

She then visit the coppersmith and buys some pots and pans and a good size kettle. Despite going to every table Zara finishes with time to spare to get to the fountain, but before they leave she goes to the elders and thanks them for allowing her to own such fine wares. Finally she goes to the Eldest and holds her hands for a few minutes, "May the Blessings of the Light and of Mother Earth come to you."

More to come

Lorae first attacks Orc 11 who has Logan flanked. She will concentrate on him until he falls, before turning her attacks on others around her. Her greenwood blade is glowing brightly causing the orcs and goblins around her to squint and that reduced their chances to hit, not that any had done so far.

She keeps an eye on the field and sees Shadowbane and Moon Dancer trampling their share of the enemy. Far off in the area of the entangles, she has noticed that many of the vegetation covered bumps are not moving, especially the smaller ones-the goblins.

Subject: Zara Goes Shopping

Zara start to flit from place to place in the sprawling market, one of the first stops was a spice merchant. She orders a number of spices and then asks for 2 lbs of pepper.

“2 lbs!” exclaims the man, “that is all I have to sell for the rest of the week and I have regular customers.”

“So how much can you sell me?” Zara asks.

“About 12 oz and that will leave me enough for my regulars.”

“Done,” says Zara paying the man for the spices. She hands the package to Jason, “Would you please carry this for now?”

“If you need more pepper, there is a purveyor of spices in the brown district.” The man hands Zara her change. “He is fair with his prices, tell him Hiram sent you.”

“Thank you good sir,” Zara nods to him and waves good bye. Turning one corner Zara asks Jason for the package of spices and puts it away in her haversack.

Next they travel to a clothes merchant, where she buys a number of shirts, pants, socks and loin cloths for a male of Septimus’s size and some for females. Once again she asks Alex to carry the package until she stows it away into her haversack. Finally they come to a boot maker and she looks over his wears, but does not buy any. A bit later she stops in an area that had a bright decorated canopy leading into a circle of brightly painted wagons.

“Ah, just what I wanted, Terrani.

Terrani were a small human-like folk no more than 4.5 feet for tall males. (OOC: think of a Hobbit, Kender, Gnome cross. They look like petite humans.) They were noted craftsmen and seamstresses. Inside the circle of about 8 wagons were canopies that extended from the side of the wagons and tables that fold down from the sides facing inward. All manner of items were displayed for sale. Copper pots and pans, jewelry of copper, silver, and gold, leather goods of every sort, small woven, knitted, and crocheted goods, brightly dyed and painted scarves, and innumerable other goods including racks of clothing.

And all around them were the lively, joyous Terrani selling or bartering their goods for things they could not make. There were at least a dozen or so Littles playing about with the caravan’s dogs while their older siblings worked with their parents. About 3 aged Terrani kept tabs on the Littles while soaking up the sun. Every so often there would come quiet admonishment from one of the Elders if things got too boistress.

“Have you ever dealt with the Terrani, Alex? Jason?”

"Zara is fine, its easy to say, better not knowing the whole name. Then when you are angery with me and you can't use my whole name like my mother does."

Staff in hand Zara bounces out the door half a step ahead of Dae and Jason.

"What a day for...shopping," she declares aloud. "This is going to be a glorious day.

Partway down the street, mostly deserted except for the early risers, Zara slows to join Dae and Jason.

"I told the Felani to meet us at the fountain in the center of the market, or at the stable. So I am not sure where he is now, but I'd say in 40 to 60 minutes we should check the fountain first."

"But I do want to go shopping. I want to get, you know who another cloak because his old one is tattered, and boots, he is wearing are a dead give away. Maybe even a hat or a headband instead of his scarf,"

She looks to Dae and Jason, "We don't need to have those looking for him following us."

She looks back to Dae. "And we have to replace some of the stuff that was lost when you did not cinch down the packs tight enough."

"I have the list your mother gave us before we set out and I have gone though what we still have, so you will know what you have to buy."
