Lorae turns to look at Cerric, "Indeed it is a fine mount, and could be very useful, but what of the mare that you summoned. She came to you, and not becuase of your spell. I am not sure why she came, since I have not had time to converse with her, but such a mount is for more than the stone horse before you. She is intelligent, and like Moon Horses she can work her own magics."

(OOC to Highnar--it is morning and you have no rooms the inn with crowded with refugees. Highnar probably went to the bar to nurse a mug in silence.)

(OOC TO DM: Ok I will edit my post first chance I get.)

"Loda, it is not that simple, we must neutralize what wass used to cause it to be infected. I felt the same way as you when I saw the the tree near Flame Tower."

Elessarae looks to the Khord druidess.

"Flame Tower told me that when they they made the potion from the Lotus of Light, and Lady Quilanday had said the same thing."

She looks to the tree and a slsigt shiver goes through her. Foremost on her mind to to deal with the problem of the trees once and for all, and that would mean going to the source, the Charkhan Mountins.

Watches the man leave, and when the question is asked of Karl, and hears it and Thor's assessment, she is still in a quantry.

Something about the man drew her trust from the moment that he entered the room.

She goes outside to see if she can see hime but by that time he is gone. She knew the others were very skeptical of him, she had heard their words and felt their emotions on the subject of the inigmatice personage. Maybe, becuase she was so used to taking thing on faith, that she felt this way about the man, maybe she was being still being fooled.

Alea spot a big old chestnut tree and goes to it and sits leaning against its ancient bark base. Taking up her holy symbol again she beseeches Corellon to aid her to divine the true nature of Alacran.

Elessarae pauses at the mention a another way to deliever the potion to the tree. Even thought she had finished preparing to deliver it personally, she paused and waited for more infornmation.

For something to say as they waited she spoke of her first time with a MAOUS. "The first creatures I met that had been changed by a poisoned tree were these Demonic Owls. They spoke in some jibberish that was demoralizing and they used it to weaken their opponents. That is how I came to have Comrade, his mother had taken the brunt of their verbal and physical attack for some time before I came upon her with the foot stuck in the roots of a tree, that were underwater."

"It seems the silent scream of the lizard acted in a simular manner, in this case paralyzing us. Hopefully, when we return to the village, some of the people might have recovered from the effects."

It might be good to question Karl about Alacran, how long he has know him etc, For it seemed the people knew him and he did know Karl's name."

Alea looks to the man who called himself Alacran, "My friends are right in this, you could be of the Dark and disguised."

Alea takes up her holy symbol, and simply circled of read oak that she had lovingly carved herself. She prays for an answere to their conundrum concerning Alacran

When the battle ended, sound returned and she could finally move, Elessare went to Lady Quilanday and uses her Bardic heal spells on the senior Bladesinger, not wanting to drain her wand any further. She will then reaccess if the wand is need, though she knew the male Khord was a cleric. If more healing is needed for Quilanday.

"Geim, would you please use you healing on Lady Quilanday?"

As the group reforms, "I am sorry I could not help," there was a wealth of emotion in that simple statement. Elessarae was chagrin at being unable to help her comrades or, Sylvaria.

"Have any of you considered that some of those that seemed dead might have been paralyzed as we were. I pray that that is true and that they ran for cover as soon as they were able."

Elessarae hiked her pack up and followed Wulf as they make the trip to the tree. Elessarae notices how the closer they get the slower that Wulf had become. As they stand before the infected willow, Elessarae watches Wulf, while she unloads the extra cloaks and things she brought so that one might be able to travers the soggy ground to the tree with some reasonable protection. Since she had done it before she prepares to put on the oiled boots and the extra cloaks. Elessare moves up to where Wulf stands.

"What troubles you?"

Subject: Zara

Like a kid in a candy shop, Zara was all over the common room watching the people drinking, gambling, or just talking. After a bit she went to speak to the innkeeper and then came back and brought out her harp.

Zara began to play and the others continued with what they were doing, for now keeping her playing to simple background music. While she played with her head over her harp, she was watching inn's patrons under her eyelashes, which were long and curved upward. She too read with she say and heard, for her acute hearing allowed her to hear those in the back of the common room speaking normally, even as she played. She could have used other natural talents to perceive other interesting bits of interesting information about the patrons, but she wanted to extend her abilities, so she watched and listened and learned a few things in the process.

When it seemed that most of the patrons had finished eating, Zara began to intensify the music she played, switching to quick lively tunes interspaced with some common tunes she had picked up that might best be called drinking songs, the words were simple and the chorus was repeated after every two verses, and a few rounds it allowed for patrons to supply their own words for the song.

Some actually did, and soon the common room was full of thirsty singers. Partway through the night she did a rousing rendition of The Nearsighted Knight and the Old Whore, which had the place rocking with laughter and song, except for a tight group of three that she had noticed earlier. Throughout her performance they remained detached and very quiet, whispering while all others about spoke openly.

The local farmers headed home first, and then travelers who had to rise early headed for their rooms on the second floor. Zara finally put her harp away and picked up her feather cap with the coins that had been tossed into it by the patrons.

The Innkeeper came over to her. "Tripled my take tonight," he announced happily. "Your room and breakfast are on me. You wouldn't, perchance, be staying over? Tomorrow is a big day for me, all the people coming in for the celebration of the Duke's birthday. I was given a heads up by my brother who learned about it while traveling in from the north, he passes a number of caravans headed to the city, and the fastest of them will reach here tomorrow. You could make a deal more in coins and if you raise the bar proceeds, I will give you 10 percent."

"I doubt it," says Zara as she packed away her harp, "though it depends on how one of our traveling companions is feeling tomorrow. Your offer of money is a good reason to stay."

"Think it over," said the Innkeeper.

"I will," replied Zara.

Zara looks over to the three men with a second sight. It was as she thought; these men were here not for any legal purpose. The intensity of their dark and muddied auras was palpable.

Kas leaves her dagger and then looks down into the pit where the non-fighters had fallen. "Are you oke down there?"

If they say yes she will look for a way to get to where the Orcs are.

If they indicate there is a problem she will look for a way of getting down there to help them. She gauges if she can scramble down into the pit with out danger of breaking a leg or arm, if there is enough rubble that she canh climb down there on.

If not she will look for a place to tie a rope so she can lower herself down there.

Kas looks for a way around the swining blade, or if there is a way of stopping its swing by jamming a dagger into the area where the blade was attached to the ceiling.

She will even try to kick it ans it passes by, making sure to kick only after it makes it downward sweep so that if she misses she will pass behind the forward movement of the blade. She hopes that the kick will cause it to slow down so that the others could pass by.

Alea quickly, yet succintly begins at the very beginning of them being whisped here by their deities and then quickly and carefully related everything that had happened to them from waking in the ridge overlooking the ocean to this moment.

"Unfortunately Silwen has been targeted from the beginning with twisted nightmares and the like. Last night the Wolves that attacked us were after her and when the failed, this elaborate scheme was contrived to get rid of her."

Elessarae is bereft that she can do nothing to help her friends and defend Sylvaria. She had made an oath to do just that, calling on the deities of Light and Good to hear her vow. Now she was paralyzed as her comrades were under attack by the foul beast that had decimated the village of Hith Elee

"Aina'Vakha (Holy Guardian)” her mind cries out in fervored and heartfilled prayer, “aid me to break that which causes me to break my vow to my land and my people.

Ghardan Aglar (Stalwart Blade) allow me the freedom to join my embattled comrades in just battle against this foul beast.

Adaron (Lord of Trees) Patraon of the Sylvari, allow me to add my abilities to my comrades to destroy this abomination of one of your creatures, so that we might heal the trees that were poisoned.

Elessarae spoke from the heart as always. There was nothing in her pleas born of vanity, so that others would come to view her as some hero. Even if there were some, like Auwego, who had come to think of her in that light, it was not her way. Her pleas came from her soul and that was now tied to the soul of Sylvaria.

Not for me, but Thee. It was the basis of all that she did even before being made a Bladesinger.

She was surprised at what this cave had turned out to be, and wondered if there was not something more to this, the elaborate settings in the first two alcoves was far more complicated in makeup than what a bestial mind of an Ogre could come up with.

Highnar is given the stone horse and they troop outside so the he could set in on the ground and give the command word to activate it, no doubt the innkeeper would not like it if the beast materailized into his commonroom.

As Highnar set the small stone horse on the ground and says the command wood, instantly there is a great deestrier, (biggest of all war horses, something a fully armored knight would ride.

The great gray war stallion, fully barded in plate has such a broad back that Highnar would litterally be doing the splits on the seat of the saddle.

The horse turns to Highnar recognizing the one who gave the command word and snorted.

Lorae does her best to conceal the laughter that was to escape her lips at the sight of the stone horse.

"I truly magnificent animal," she gets out and looks about to the others to see their reactions, hoping to hide the quivering of her lips.

Before leaving the inn she will gather an extra cloaks, and take the boots from the dead innkeeper, who had a big foot, and then rub them all over with oil or lard.

Having fought the Demonic Owls, Elessarae knew some of what the MAOUS were capable of and when the malaise came over her body, she instinctively fought it. But it was not a physical fight at first. The silent roar had paralyzed her, almost, but her mine was clear and with that came a flood of thought. First was that she could possible still sing, with the she could inspire her comrades. From deep in the well of her mind came words that she had once read.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn't be done and he did it.

Elessar brought to mind a simple round that had been used by a music teacher she had taken lessons with, She was try to teach a group of children how to sing their part of the song while other were singing a different part. For that a special concentration was needed, though having to listen to the other singers to start on cue and then to keep the rhythm and tempo, one also had to keep mind of their own part of the song and sing it while others sang theirs.

So it was she began that song, first in her mind.

"Heaven and Earth may cease to exist, but the musician, but the musician, but the musician always persists."

While she sings she will delve deep to bring her muscles into control, first by trying hand gestures that had been taught to her to go with the song. Over and over she built the song until she pushed it into her throat, and with that she hopes to regain control of her body.

If she can sing it aloud, she will then switch to her battle song and use it to inspire courage.

If she can sing aloud:

(to the chorus of Men of Harlech If you want to hear what it is like go to http://www.contemplator.com/wales/harlech2.html there is a quick intro)

Rise Sylvari, guard your Forests!
War has come both Dread and Glorious.
We must stand and be Victorious,
Warriors of the Light.

Rise Sylvari, to defend us
Least the enemy do rend us
Doing all that is horrendous
In this, they must fail.

Stand we now with Fervor
In this great Endeavor
Weapons ready, warriors steady,
We face the gruesome foe now before us

Sylvari Warriors, on to glory
See your battle standards famed in story
Waves these buring words before ye,
"Sylvaria shall not yield!

Rise Sylvari, take your Stand,
Cast out the Evil from our Land,
With Sword and Bow now in Hand,
Warriors of the Light.

If she can control her body she will join the fight against the creature. If she does not have enough control to be an effective fighter, she will go to the tree and use the vial on it; protecting her self by putting on the extra cloak and the oiled/larded boots.

Judging the character of the man from the moment he entered the room, the powers he displayed, the immediate effect he had on the angry crowd, that even his simple garb that only seemed to add to his presence. Alea stepped forward.

"No, Good Sir,, we were brought to these lands to deal with a problem. We were on our way to do that when things began to happen to my friend, she looked to Siliwen." Alea careful stresses words and knew this man niught well catch the hidden meaning of them. No more than that would she say until she was sure no outsider, but Alacan would hear them.

"I, for one, wish to thank you for your timely intervention. Now, I will let the others thank you. I believe, if we are to get breakfast the Gentle Wife of the Innkeeper is going to need help in the kitchen." As with most roadside inns the wife was the cook and she would be too distraught to do so. Though Alea knew, work was a balm for grief and she would try to get the woman involved in breakfast as soon as she could.

"Riddle, Billy, will one of you escort Siliwen up to our room so she can wash and change?" By which she also meant for whomever went with her to guard her.

Alea sets herself the task of seeing to the kitchen, "She turns to the room of travelers, "Is there one of you who would help me in the kitchen to see that all get a breakfast before they travel on this day."
