has to be at least level 6, for requirements are a base attack bonus of +5 and access to domain spells, so that could be 1 level of cleric, and 5 levels of fighter.

new question:

what is the setting called that is known for its hopping from one plane of existence to another?

yes, a combat ROUND, but not yet a combat. So speaking is free right now, and you can utter more than just 6 words.

About inter-group-quarrels: they happen, and please remember that this is a role-playing game, where players don't feel the same as their characters do. A good roleplaying opportunity is fine.

In no way do I want player-player kills. We're not evil, so quarreling is , killing is and out of the question.

Ormander looked at Kastor in confusion and alarm. For a moment it seemed the keeper of the Orphanage was going to lose his temper, but he simply sighed and sank back in his chair again.

"Yes, Kastor. That would've been a great idea, if we HAD the statue. But as I explained, we were not responsible for the theft. We are being framed, set up, or perhaps unfortunately drawn into this. Pay attention, will you?"

He looked at them appologetically, but it was clear to them that he was struggling with the situation. And who could blame him for feeling edgy?

you would be dead by new year with actions like that, IF I was able to update before that. But I guess I won't be able to do so, since the hollidays took people away from the boards.
Therefore there is only an update for Dragon Mistress, which is not that great either. Oh well... some times it's a novel, other times it's just what's needed.

Have a Happy New Year in advance everybody!

Alloryen Kingdom
Duin Shee Dalnya riverbank
6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:06 pm

When Elessar came closer, there was no longer any doubt in her mind. The fairies were indeed after Comrade’s skin, even though the young horse was not ready to part with it yet.

She entered the battle with her sword high, ready to pulverize the little creatures. Her first swing was an immediate hit, and one of the fairies flickered and fell on the river in two parts. But another one of the fairies dove past the bladesinger and aided her sister in tearing Comrade’s skin. They managed to form a tear with their fingers and ripped off a piece of hide the size of Elessar’s thumb. They held on to it together and dove into the water, only to return a moment later, while Comrade was still screaming.
In the meantime, Elessarae Isiliri, tested warrior, attempted another hack at one of the fairies, but missed widely. Then one of the creatures sprayed a silver fountain of lights over her, and for a second she had to avert her eyes. Fortunately, she was not affected by it in any other way.

When she had adjusted to the darkness once more, she changed her tactics. Flinging around her cloak made it hard for the fairies to come close, but was also as tiring as fighting and did not seem to demoralize the fey creatures. More of them showed up now, their numbers slowly growing to what could be called a swarm. Comrade pranced high on his legs and kicked wildly with his hooves, then bit into Elessar’s sleeve and pulled her away from the swarming fairies.
Showers of lights rained over them as the spirits of the river attempted to stop them, but their enchantments were too weak.

(OOC: ok, new choice: run or fight the fairies as a swarm.)

I'd rather the group didn't split up. It's not only more work, it's just not a good idea in general considering that I'd have to tone down all the encounters.

You knowledge Local reveals that your best shot at speaking with the Councillor in such a short time is catching him in between meetings or social obligations.

List with names will come on later.

Subject: I am Legend

We watched I am Legend on Monday, and it was Fantastic!

Will Smith gives a Great one man/ one dog performance with for most of the movie. His acting really is outstanding. In fact, the whole cast does a good job, in my opinion. This really makes the movie a lot more interesting than your average action vampire/zombie movie.

The direction and art-direction are also very well executed, and the deserted streets of New York never looked better

The downside to this movie has to be the way the vampires are too obviously computer animated. It isn't so bothersome, but in such a production, you would think they'd spend a bit more time/money in making them more realistic. They move like actual people, their expressions are well made, but you can see at any time that they are fake. We all knew Gollum was fake in Lotr, but he looked a bit more real than the turned humans in I am Legend.

All in all, I think this is a must-see for this season. In fact, we watched it again this afternoon, and it was still as good.

PS: I did not read the book or see the other adaptations of this movie, so it's up to other to comment on that

there might be certain precautions you want to make before going into the city. For one, pick where you want to go now. Drefast has all the standard buildings like: courthouse, palace, tempels, all the other things that you can think of in a medievel city.

Also, since it has been dropped by somebody:
if you think one of the former orphans has anything to do with this, Ormander can give you a list of people who recently left his guidance.

You guys have plenty of freedom in how, what and where, but like Ayrn says: we need posts to continue.

Alloryen Kingdom
Duin Shee Dalnya riverbank
6th day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
9:06 pm

The three fairies hovered around Comrade a little longer before turning their attention to Elessarae. She was standing with Morya at the riverbank now, watching the mare drink. Now they came closer and manoeuvred in front of her face. Apparently they had a problem hanging still, and through their constantly tangled patterns it was hard to see them clearly.

From one of the orbs of silver light came a giggle, followed by a sudden rush along the riverbank. A few yards away it stopped, and danced around in one spot. When Elessar came closer, she noted that there was a dry spot between the roots of an immense tree. It was covered in long grass and big enough to host both herself and the horses. The fairies giggled once more, and darted back under the surface of the river without a splash.

Later that night Elessar woke up from a dream filled with goblins cutting Sylvari throats while giggling like fairies. It took her a second to realize that the giggling continued. Looking around, she noticed Morya standing nearby with closed eyes. Comrade was missing.

She saw him where they first met the fairies. The young stallion was surrounded by at least five glowing orbs of silver light. He appeared to be dancing at first, jumping back and forth and kicking his legs around. But the moonlight reflected a glare in his eyes that told the bladesinger enough. Now she looked better she noticed how they dove at his skin and clung to it until he knocked them off. Whenever a fairy released her grip, it seemed to be ripping a part of his glowing skin along.

Alloryen Kingdom
The Exaulted Tower
2nd day of the 8th month: Temoth Ore
5:45 pm

They had spent the evening at the tower’s lowest layer, taking turns in keeping a watchful eye. The spirit of death had not released its grasp over the building yet, and though it would scare off wild animals, it might attract more dreadful things.

Still, the evening past without incidents, and when the morning came, bleak and damp, they raised their stiff bodies for another day of travelling.

Searches from the evening before had not brought them any further clues, but lady Quilanday was set on having the strange drawings and maps from the library examined by expert at the Emperor’s court. Shortly after rising she announced her departure.

“You are a brave band of adventurers, lending your aid when it is not profitable. It is this fact that lifts you to the status of heroes. Continue your quest, knowing that the Sylvari are grateful!”

With these last words she mounted her horse and rode of into the woods.

For the companions, there was nothing more to do than continue their journey towards the Chakran Mountains. They were halfway the Alloryen Kingdom already, and their goal was getting closer.

The forest seemed peaceful at first, but Loda perceived the small hints that something was terribly wrong. Soon the others started noticing it too. It started with spots on the ground, stains of dried blood but no corpses to justify them. Then there were uprooted bushes and later trees that were knocked over as if a large creature had made its path there. They saw trees with leaves brown and mouldy, as if they were decomposing before released from their bearers. On closer inspection, these trees had all been gnawed on by something with long teeth, and their opened bark displayed an orange green resin.

Later they stumbled upon an abandoned village, very similar to Birch-Root. The villagers had left in a hurry, leaving belongings and a trail of hasty prints. In the immediate surroundings they found more blood stains and the bodies of two Sylvari men ripped to pieces, but left to decay. A few minutes later they found a similar body, a female this time, on the bank of the Glittering Maiden River.

They crossed the river, and moved with growing caution. The sun went down again, and night impregnated the forest with an even creepier atmosphere. It was too quiet and misty. Every now and then their camp was stalked by unseen creatures. They could hear breathing or panting in the fog, but there were never any tracks. Still, they got safely through the night.

The next day brought them no relief either. The forest was glum, and no other travellers walked the paths any more. At midday they were startled when a boar suddenly jumped from the bushes and onto the path. Its leap was more like a frog’s, and it landed on legs that were too long. Dark eyes glared at them for a minute, and a mouth with twisted tusks opened. The creature retched and a red cloud of gas fogged from its throat. Then the creature jumped from the path, and disappeared into the forest. The cloud of red mist grew and spread over the ground, gliding in every direction. Very soon it would reach the companions too.

First ever Adnd Character was an elf named Goldin, who of course was the only survivor of an orc raid. I made a background for the character, because my DM read that this was a good thing to do to enhance role-playing.

Before this we played a Dutch game (originally German but translated into dutch) called Oog des Meesters, which translates into Eye of the Master. It was a similar kind of game, but I can't remember any special characters I played in it. Probably because I didn't make them myself.

The Scorpion King is also refered to as Mummy 3, since it's from the same studio and involves a character from Mummy 2. And yes, it was bad.

There is only one person who should play Bilbo: Ian Holm. I think so because he was already shown as a younger Bilbo finding the ring in the Trilogy, and because he did such a good job and has the right size .
With the new computer technology they'll be able to make him look even younger. They'll use that one on the Magneto movie that will be coming out, and they also used that in X-men III.

Ormander’s Orphanage
West Gutterfallstreet
Drefast, Drannon

Alexandro was the first one to respond.

“Ormander, I think you know that you can count on our help. But we need to know, are you certain that no one from the orphanage could have taken it? Has anyone left or gone missing since the theft?”

The old man nodded.

“Of course you have questions, and I’m glad that you agree to help me. I have already asked… no, interrogated any of the orphans who could be capable of doing such a deed, but I am certain none of them are involved. And yes, people leave, we’ve said goodbye to several children before the accusation. I don’t believe they would be involved either.”

Pio was quick to continue the questions after Ormander paused.

“Who has accused you, father? Councillor Velch himself? Has he threatened you? Have those in authority”

“Well, threatened….” It was clear that Ormander didn’t like that word, “I have been summoned by a representative for the Councillor, and he was very clear. Velch has set his mind to believe the Orphanage is responsible. He desires we repay him for the trouble, and of course for the lost statue. I have six days left to gather 20.000 Guain, or they will send me to jail for a number of days equal to the amount left to pay.”

He suddenly grew white, and tears started forming in his eyes. Trembling, he sat down and stared at them all.

Percifeer now spoke, and it was

"Father, there would be no need for you to hide from us if one of the children had taken it. Whether that is the issue, or it is truly a plot against you, the group sitting here with me, either would be a cause within our power to deal with. But if we are to pursue the cause, then we me must be certain, of which all we truly need is your word Father, that this is a set up, and not a streak of stupidity on the part of one of our brethren." She took a sip of her tea, before finishing her statement. "If that is the case, then we will go to whatever lengths necessary to protect our home, of this I have no doubts."

Ormander smiled, but it was a forced bending of his lips, and his voice followed in incompetence.

“I do not know. I try to give every orphan here a better childhood than the streets could offer. Never has anyone left on bad terms. IF this is not a set up, but simply an unfortunate event by one of my older children, then we are still facing the same consequences.”

At that point Kastor got up from his seat to cry out: “I shan't have it no-one will disgrace my father. Just tell me where to start looking and i will not rest until these low-life scum is found.”

“Thanks for your enthusiasm, Kastor. I am glad you came to my aid. Is there ANYthing else I can do for you all?”

I found that two more films will be made set in Middle Earth: one would be the hobbit, and another one would be made to fill in the time space between hobbit and LotR.

I also know that Sam Raimi is jumping up and down for the roll of director on these movies, but it's nowhere sure that he's going to be the one.
