Recruitment stage is almost complete people. I will very soon start up a Q/A, and of course an opening post. I can already tell you that most of you will already be together as a group, celebrating your latest victory. For those who wanted to join in later: check your PMs.

I hope everybody will have a little patience. I would like to start right away, but time is not really on my side this weekend. Thanks.

Starting gold is 9.000 GP.

Read this carefully everybody!
- Worshippers of Kharox in this game will receive:
One Craft Skill, +2 on any crafting skill, +1 Hit Point per level.

- Lysora's granted powers remain the same:
All heal spells +1 per die, cast cure light wounds once a day, cast slow poison once a day.

- Any other god's powers that you can't understand or cannot translate, let me know. I'll convert them for you.

Greenleaf: I did not calculate the Self-suficient feat in the heal-skill. Your skill check will remain +14, instead of +12.
Your basic background will do. You must understand that this means that you will be a new member to this party. The rest will start out as companions already.

I would very much like to welcome you to my game, Dragonmistress. I remember your game Peradyse Lost on top of the boards when I had barely arrived at the inn years ago. Thanks for showing interest An elven blade singer is fine by me.

AS OF NOW: This game is full! YAY!
I'll be accepting no more players from now on.

I would like to see characters come in as soon as possible so I can get working on a first post. Your characters shall be transported to the Q/A that I shall create soon, once everybody is in.

I'm very much looking forward to starting this one up!

Wow, another player, and another Khord too. Magnificent!
Welcome Greenleaf.

I looked your sheet over and found that your attack bonuses are reversed, or something like that. The attack bonus for your waraxe should be +8 (3 base attack + 3 strength bonus + 1 magic + 1 weapon focus feat).
Your sling uses your dexterity bonus, but strength for extra damage. Your attack with a sling is +4, and the dmg remains 1d4+3

Also, your heal skill has 10 ranks, and I'm afraid that's 2 more than 5th level allows. You can only put up to 8 ranks in a skill at that level.

Last: your armor class should be 21 instead of 20, since you have a +1 full plate, meaning that you get the normal AC +1.

The rest looks good. Nice having you on board.

Subject: to Vesper

Thanks for showing interest in my game, Vesper.
In my opinion, the Voluntary Poverty is slightly overpowered, but that is when you play it on high level. Since we're starting at level 5 it is alright with me. Another point that plees for it is the fact that it will give great roleplaying opportunities. So I'll be expecting a lot from you, hehe. J/k

I must admit that I do not own the complete mage book yet. I looked on though and found it in an excerpt:ultimate magus

It seems you cannot play this class, since you need 8 ranks in spellcraft. You can put 8 ranks in a skill once you achieve 5th level, so you would have to wait a level to become the prestige class.
Reading through it I also think it is slightly powerful, getting extra spells from both wizard AND sorcerer class. And I'm trying to stay away from too much powerplay. I hope that's no problem.

the teflon is only teflon on one side i suppose.

As for Drakar's planet question..well should read up on that.

animals' voice boxes (or whatever) are only capable of making certain noises, typically. Made that way. I'm sure we can look it up and find a specific answer for that one.

I dunno...those are my answers.
and now a question:

Why doesn't America start using round-a-bouts more often, like europe (specifically Holland). They're quite useful and much less traffic jamming!!

Now the big question is: What do you want to play? I'm not looking for anything specifically so you can pick what you like.

Oh, one thing I forgot: Starting Money.

You'll have 9000 GP to buy stuff from. This can be any kind of gear, but I would like magical gear to be checked by me. Send me a PM and we'll sort things out nicely.

I had hoped for more enthusiastic replies, but we still have time.

Please note that if you don't want to read up on the setting, you don't HAVE to. It is desirable for better roleplaying experience, but not mandatory.

All races are welcome. When the site merges I will surely run a game that involves Khords only (set in the Khordal Kingdom).
But that will come in time. For now I have this adventure in mind, and any race is welcome.

"…through the gate it poured,
an unmerciful flood;
her children slain,
her halls red with blood -
Chakranna weeps."
-- excerpt from "Alas Chakranna" by Torgrim GlyphCarver, Scribe

Dear Members of the Red Dragon Inn,

Very soon the gaming forums will merge with the rest of the community that made up One of the most prominent features for me was the existence of a unique campaign setting called Audalis. Recently I have dug into this setting and worked on an article. It aroused my appetite for the setting and I would very much like to run a game in it.

A long-running campaign is not what I’m looking for right now, though. This will be an adventure that will definitely have an ending and it’s up to the players how soon that ending will be.

The Details:
- This game will be set in Audalis, and so you’ll be playing according to this setting.
- The group will start as 5th level characters, and we shall rule that they have been together as an adventuring party for some time.
- The quest of this group will be to find out what exactly happened to the city of Chakranna and the Chakrandrum race (The only information known is that they were a type of dwarves that were exterminated in the second ogre war, 750 BER.)
- I’m going to need a good group of people. I will not run this adventure if only 2 people join in. Five players would be perfect.
- Posting will go at a rate of one post a week majorly speaking. Posts do not have to be long, but I do want some description if time alows it.

Character Creation
- Edition will be 3.5. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with rules above AD&D 2nd edit. I will gladly help convert any character that you can come up with. You can see this as a fun way of learning the new rules. Note that I am not looking for a power-playing experience, as 3rd edition is often pictured.
- If you intend to use any other books besides the core-books, please contact me. You are very much allowed to, but I would like to know where you found your resources.
- Roll 4d6 for your stats and drop the lowest one.

If you have any questions feel free to post them here or send me a private message. Here are links to some valuable information:

For all information about races, locations and the pantheon you should look at the Audalis Mainpage
I suggest you all read the article about The Chakrandrum Race. It might prove helpful.

Hoping to receive many interested gamers,

This was an exiting find indeed! But this hole was too dark to see anything, and Elandor desperately needed to find out what it was. The echo took a long time to respond, and Elandor couldn't resist to yell loudly into the hole:

"How many people have been here before... fore... fore... four... What did they do here to make this smell so crappy ... pee ... pee ... pee."

The kender bopped his head around the corner, shielding his eyes from the bright light.

"Hey Teros Lightshield-bearer! Come over here and shine your shield into this hole!"

Those are some nice examples! Wow, a DM-leagued character gone bad. I'm glad that never happened to me before, haha.

I did have a league with a player once. He had died in a Ravenloft campaign by stupidity of another player. Of course I had him come back as a helf-vampire (since they failed to properly burry him). They didn't take the hints either (couldn't bare sunlight well, suddenly wore gloves to hide his claws, had to be invited before entering a building etc). Then one evening he started attacking them in their sleep. They had not seen it coming, but the reactions were like Ryst just described. Lol.

Topic: **Noldaria*Final War**
Subject: The Diamond of Spring! Oops… wrong forum.

Climbing down the rope the small kender regretted setting his feet on the stone ground again. The view from up there was magnificent. No wonder statues of gods were always that big. High up on the rope, adjusting the shield, Elandor felt godly. His perspective was normally one from the low side of things. Not to say that’s a bad thing. From down low things can only go up, right? At least, that’s what the kender always told himself.

After descending to his own height, Elandor soon forgot his issues with altitude. Teros’ trick with the shield worked a second time, only this time not to stop a dark army. The beauty it created was mind-stiffening. It was breath-stopping. No, Elandor thought, this beauty should be named jaw-breaking. For it made you want to look at it with your mouth hanging open as far as possible, so far that you’d have to break your jaw in order to reach the amount of dropping that would equal the beauty of this… hey a gem!

The distraction saved him from attempts at prying his mouth open. When Marie held up the star-shaped diamond and held it before Teros’ shield Elandor jumped up and down, reaching for the gem.

“Wow! Let me see, let me see! Can I hold it? Just until we’ve reached the statue? Besides… it’s not really HIS shield. He can only borrow it until we’re down the hall. Then it’s the statue’s shield. And we will all be sorry if we don’t give the statue the shield, you know. That’s like giving up our quest. Hey, what was with that black hole, anyway?”

Elandor leaves the others in the room to check out the black hole in the hallway. It looked like it wasn’t supposed to be there, so it was surely interesting.
(OOC: He’s going to check out the hole. Look at it, listen for a while, and then search it. If need be, he’ll even try to crawl in it to see what it’s all about.)

wow, no reaction at all so far. Do you guys have nothing note-worthy in all your gaming days? Surely not all of you play dnd just online... right?

I have another example for you:

One time I was dm-ing an adventure set in a city. The players were hunting a guild of assassins. New as they were in the city they found themselves a city-map. I had actually made a map for them and prepared it specially. At a certain point in the adventure the players had to storm into the royal castle because they thought something bad was going to happen.
The guards questioned them and upon showing the map the guards held it in front of a torch. I actually took a lighter under the real map and on it appeared the image that was the symbol of the assassin guild. (I had drawn it in lemon juice... that really worked.) The effect this had on the players, plus the principle of carrying the map for half an adventure, when it was their biggest lead on how to find the guild, are unforgettable.

I'm not answering Fantasy's tune, because we would like to know if anybody else knows it. Since we live together, it would be cheating (really BAD cheating). haha

Yay for google... I would never have guessed... maybe it's a cross-atlantic thing?

A wave came crushing like a fist to the jaw,
delivered him wings - hey look at me now!
Arms wide open with the sea as his floor,
oh power, oh, oh.
he's ... flying

I don't know if anybody will know that one, but if they cheat (like me) then that will do I suppose. Don't want to take the pace out of the game.

Tell us all about the coolest, most memorable and soon to be legendary game-sessions. What made it unforgettable? Was it the players' reaction to a plot-twist, your pre-fun about what was coming up, spontaneous improvising from players or DM, or special settings?

Let me start with an example:

In the town I used to live in there were several groups that played DnD frequently. A friend and I decided to make a special DnD day, where we would combine the majority of the 3 groups of players.
We wrote a special adventure that would put 2 groups of adventurers on an island. Both groups would go through the same series of places on the island, but in different time-zones. So in one there would be a dragon that one group slayed, in the other time-zone there was a dragon-cemetary where the other group had to save the soul of a good dragon.
In short, the two groups would influence eachother's adventure and sometimes get hints at eachother's existense. After several hints came actual switches, where the groups would switch tables, and DM. This would lead to interesting situations, since one group could be in the middle of a fight, and the other would have just ended one. The consequenses of switching became more drastic each time.

The climax of this adventure (which lasted about 12-13 hours in a row), was a gigantic battle with 13 players combining their strength to kill a high level wizard. It was massive fun! Really great to DM. I will never forget the reactions from the players on the first switch. Priceless.

I'm sure you've had some experiences like this, or other great moments. Share them!

(the other post messed up, so post to this one)
