..... just a heads up!

Early on Wednesday I have to go to the airport and exit Qatar and fly to Bahrain and then fly back again to renew my visa to stay in Qatar another six months!

Not sure how long I will stay up tonight and hopefully all goes well tomorrow and I will check back in at the RDInn sometime on Wednesday evening!

Subject: About loading ...

..... that Avatar in your Profile!

The Avatar you see of mine in both the D2 and RDInn sites was loaded from the Avatar that was saved in our laptop at home!

I requested the Avatar to be loaded at the RDInn when I first arrived here, but after a few days I went ahead and chose one from the Avatars available from the RDInn!

My Green Avatar just showed up here at the RDInn one day a few weeks later!

So if it is an Avatar of your own choice that you want to load, then it has to be approved by whoever is in control of the Avatars at the RDInn, which may take several days or a few weeks to process!

Does that answer your question?

..... adventure for the long haul and whatever the DM decides is fine with me!

I was allowed to enter the Lantan adventure after the other players had started, so maybe some of the tardy players who have signed on for this game may still have a period of grace to get their information compiled and sent, but that is up to the DM of this particular adventure!

..... your last post you wrote the following:

"On another note, I've nearly gotten the geography of Tiancann thought out, so if you want to specify a starting locale, this hopefully will help."

So does that mean we actually have a choice about where we begin our adventure?

I just figured that you would decide where each character began the adventure, because you would have all the info of each character, plus the knowledge of what is actually going on in your created scenario!

Please elaborate or explain?

[I need to go back to sleep!]

Topic: An Evil in Orlane
Subject: Possibility of Lizardmen

Gunther knew immediately that the smell of the swamp in the cellar could only mean one thing ... Lizardmen!

His mother's father had spoken often of these vile creatures and the many battles that had been fought by his forefathers against such ravagers!

The young Paladin reviewed the tales in his mind as he chose what course of action to take, saying a quick and reverent prayer to his God for the guidance he would need to employ in the ensuing investigation of the cellar.

At Sentinel's request, Gunther passed his torch to Katai to free his left arm and hand to grip his Medium Shield, returning his Battle Axe to its proper carrying place to free his right hand to pass the lantern from Deathstalker down to Oriel, before selecting his BroadSword to brandish at a moments notice in case of a sudden attack, or just to utilize the point of the blade to poke around at the scattered debris in the cellar.

A sudden rush of adrenaline surged through the young Paladin's body as he alertly made his way down the stairs, thankful for the feeling that he was now earning the gold coins he was given by the merchant when Gunther had signed on for this adventure to investigate the Evil in Orlane!

Subject: Handful of Herbs

The mercenary was about to retrieve The Equalizer and follow the sound of the musket shot when the wounded lady called out to him. The look on her face and in her eyes as she handed him the herbs would have haunted his dreams had he chosen to ignore her plea:

"Please," she whispered as she handed him the herbs. "Use them on Shaben first."

She motioned towards the back of the boat and the mercenary responded without any questions or hesitation. As he hurried to find the man she called Shaben, the mercenary clutched the herbs securely in his left hand as if he were gently holding a little kitten. In mere moments he had quickly scooped up The Equalizer with a fluid motion of his battle ready right hand, quickening his pace to close the distance between himself and the man called Shaben as if it were a matter of life or death.

How much time had elapsed since the musket was fired was not clear to the mercenary, but he was ready to either administer aid to the one named Shaben; whether it be by the healing power of the herbs he carried in his left hand, or be it by the swift justice of The Equalizer that thirsted for the crunching sound of combat that he gripped firmly in his right hand.

"Shaben!" the mercenary shouted to the man with the musket as he drew near to the back of the ship, "The lady has given me some herbs to tend to your wounds!"

Ashlands, Slith Sagonissra
Spiregate, Palace of the Gold Dragon Spirelords
Febre, Dawn

Draygo'Solarr took an instant liking to this Berodiman. He was sharp witted to catch on to playing the part of the lowly servant to the superior Skoarn. To the learned eye, mind and heart of the young Gold Dragon Shaman, this was obviously far from the case. But his adopted father Eskalios had been studying this Cyrus of the Brynth family for quite some time now; and he was totally convinced that this was another key player from the forgotten prophecies, who would tip the scales of power in favor of the Gold Dragon Shamans in the political chambers of the great city of spires.

Draygo'Solaar greeted the four guards who had come to escort the adventurers to the southern road as Eskalios' words reverberated in his recent memory: "Take the sorcerer with you, and be well. I will have four guards escort you to the southern road. Stay on it. The Ashlands are dangerous to even the most experienced shaman. You shall reach the Tar lakes by midday of the morrow."

"Lead us to the least desired path of dirty servitude that is beneath the life calling of all true blooded Skoarn!" bellowed the young Gold Dragon Shaman as he gave a comical bow to the two foremost guards. He motioned Cyrus to fall in step slightly behind him as the guards began their menial journey of escorting the two youths to the start of their destination that few knew held the balance of power in the hands of their destiny.

A slight smirk crossed the lips of Draygo'Solarr as he noticed how Eskalios purposely made the two rear guards wait for their leader to depart the chamber, allowing a comfortable space that spoke of respectful prominence for the young Berodiman and the Sucurion Elf as they were escorted through the populace.

As they left the chamber and proceeded down the stairs before walking outside, loyal servants of the Gold Dragon Shamans presented Draygo'Solarr and Cyrus with the equipment and weapons they would need for their journey to the mysterious and dangerous Tar lakes.

The woman was fearless in the heat of battle and amazingly she was possessed with a tremendous strength as she carried the load of her companion up the gangplank with seeming ease. This allowed the mercenary to guard their retreat as the three quickly boarded the ship in the nick of time, as the man with the musket kicked the gangplank away from the ship to prevent their pursuers from following, while the woman sank to the deck with her burden.

Moments before she had spoken to the man with the musket, but he seemed oblivious to everything except the task at hand, as he ran to the back of the ship with musket in hand and a sense of urgency that there may yet be danger lurking nearby.

The mercenary started to follow, but took pause as the woman held her fallen companion in her arms. There was no mistake from the look in her eyes and the expression on her face that the man meant more to her at that moment than anything else, even the bolt shaft protruding from the wound in her body.

He froze in his tracks momentarily, deciding which course of action to take, then swiftly knelt beside the woman and her stricken companion, tossing The Equalizer towards the rear of the ship with his right hand, while grasping a hidden holy symbol with his left hand.

The mercenary breathed a quick prayer to his God and then gently laid his hands upon the fallen man, imparting a small gift of life to his battle ravaged body. Now satisfied that his action had imparted the desired effect, the mercenary turned from the lady and her man to locate The Equalizer, as the sound of a musket ripped the calm sea air.

Subject: Group 1 Gunther says ...

..... that Sentinel should probably continue searching and that Gunther will be close by holding the torch for light and to also provide that 10 foot protection aura!

Gunther also has his BattleAxe drawn and held in his right hand as soon as Oriel mentions the smell of swamp, which Gunther remembers Mayor Ormond mentioning Swamp Lizard folk raiding Orlane from time to time!

Obviously carrying a torch Gunther is unable to weild his Medium Shield, but the Torch in his left hand and the Battle Axe in his right hand will serve him well for now!

If there are any type of candles or torches in the cellar that Gunther can ignite with his torch to provide more light, then he will do so!

I will leave it up to Sentinel to write the first post and then write my role play if there is time before Trip updates the Orlane storyline!

..... smelling the swamp is definitely onto something!

The steps are sturdy and the two smallish doors appear to lead to pantries is what Trip posted, but since we already have been informed by Mayor Ormond that Lizard Men sometimes attack Orlane, then we may be able to locate a hidden passageway from whence those scaley culprits have entered the premises!

Perhaps Oriel can direct us to where the Swamp smell seems to be leading or coming from and we better be ready to call out to our comrades to come down if Sentinel is able to detect a hidden doorway!

Thoughts anyone?
