Maybe this is the end for me and my association with the Inn ???

Somebody hacked my original FaceBook acct and I had to abandon it and I also deleted my Yahoo Email acct that is currently listed here at the Inn.

So I have a decision to make in the next few days as to whether or not to participate on this new horizon ?????

I support the move, but not sure if I will be moving there with the rest of my InnMate Friends ???

Topic: LC Avengers QnA
Subject: This Should Be Enough Info

Okay Gang

The surrounding terrain of the forest are mainly oak trees and cedar trees, plus a lot of shrubs and some scattered briars that afford some concealment all around the clearing.

The terrain slopes down into a miniature valley of sorts that has plenty of grass and moss and rocks all along the length and width of the clearing.

There is a spring of natural water to the far right of the treasure wagon inside the clearing.

Part of your view is blocked by the treasure wagon, so you do not see who is leading the goblins. There are nearly 100 goblins encircling the wagon in a semi circle all around the clearing and then the almost 40 more threatening the Halflings (without you being able to see who the leader of the goblin band is because the wagon is blocking the view!

There is clearly a wagon trail that has led from the outskirts of the Forest of Frie through the densely wooded area and into the clearing. The trail goes off into the trees beyond where the Halflings are encircled by the goblins.

The clearing is about 150 feet wide and 50 feet across which makes for a natural place for the goblins to gather and spread out when breaking off into hunting parties or attack squads.

All these goblins are male, so the main goblin habitat where the females and children and other males are located is actually far from this area (you do not need to know where!)

There are enough spaces between the trees at certain points where horses can ride through and certainly most humanoids can run through between the trees.

There are No Rocks or Boulders in the immediate area!

These Goblins have caused most signs of life (birds, animals etc) to have fled the surrounding area or were hunted and killed off if they had not escaped.

Although the goblins are supposed to have some guards posted, they have become lax in their assumption that no one would dare venture this far into the Forest of Frie.

They are more focused on their celebration and all eyes are on the plight of the Halflings, who both hold each other, but have curiously calm smiles as the threatening goblins advance upon them!

Okay Guys

You also have to bring the treasure wagon back intact, so if an Entangle spell was cast you probably would not be able to move the wagon!

Out of that many Goblins there certainly has to be some bows and arrows among them!

I have some things to do today, but will see about answering your terrain questions later today (within the next 12 hours as it is a bit after 10am where I am!)

Subject: Yeah ...

..... it is for down the road, so there is plenty of time to get it developed.

It is from an idea that I had for the title to a book or story that I was thinking about writing a few years ago, so I would modify it a bit.

Players not only have to deal with Zombie outbreak, but a Vampire or more are also lurking around feeding!

Main thing is I have to find a suitable vehicle (D20 or C&C or whatever) to make this work, once I have the setting fleshed out and an interesting game for players to play!

Currently I have 2 games going and have been kicking around an idea for a Vampires & Zombies game, but I have a lot of developing to do for the setting!

Maybe later this year I will be able to set up a recruitment for this idea after I get some things figured out for the setting etc

The tunnel is dimly lit and about 30 foot long to where the bend to the left leads to ..... ?????

My apologies for having taken so long to get things jump started again!

By the way, the areas to the right and the left of the cavernous tunnel are shadowed and not clearly defined as to what (if anything) is hidden in the shadows.

There is enough room overhead for everyone to stand up and walk the length of the tunnel to the bend to the left, but no guarantees as to how much head room there is beyond the bend where their quarry has disappeared from view!

You will probably have to break out some of the wall for Vord and Qempar to squeeze through into the cavern!

The air is quite breathable, not too dank or wet or musty!

That should give you enough info to proceed and decide what you want to do from here!

Subject: Behind the Crate

The Scarlet Tankard Storage Area
Quevin, Coria
Spring
Day 1
Evening

As the adventurers moved towards the crates at the far end of the wall, each in his or her own way noticed that a variety of food stuffs had been pillaged.

There was no evidence of any traps or any type of ambushments. It was now quite evident that the six adventurers and the wolf were the only living beings roaming around the storage area.

The crates and wall were carefully examined, but again, no trace of physical or magical traps were detected. It had only been the keen eyes of those who saw the hand disappear behind the crate that pointed to any direction of a fleeing foe.

That and the nose of Smoke. He obeyed Willow, but impatiently pawed at the area in front of the crates, where Willow had boldly spoken to help her move them out of the way.

Revlan had been excited, surveying the area and bounding forward, that is until the sight of Smoke sent him into a momentary trip down memory lane, that he did not look forward to reliving anytime soon!

Thankfully, the sound of Willow's voice asking for help to remove the crates brought him back to the safety of his fellow adventurers and their immediate quest to find the four mysterious humans.

He did his part as did Peryl, in response to the request for help, gravitating towards Willow and thankful that Amariel was close enough behind her to protect the healer from any unexpected danger.

Content that no danger was lurking about, the elf knight gracefully moved to the crates to help her companions discover what was on the other side of the wall.

There was only so much room for moving crates, so Vord chose to cover his companions, especially Qempar, with his loaded crossbow. Nothing seemed to be amiss on this side of the wall, other than the various food stuffs that had been hastily pillaged mere minutes before the adventurers had descended into the storage area beneath The Scarlet Tankard.

Qempar stood ready with his sword drawn, anticipating someone or something to leap out and attack the group, once the crates were fully removed.

Impetuously, it was Revlan who first stuck his head into the gaping maw of the hole in the wall behind the crate. Just in time he noticed two small humans with sacks on their backs disappear around a bend in a deceptively large cavernous tunnel.

The last figure stopped momentarily to glare back at the inquisitive Revlan, making the impetuous one draw back involuntarily and exclaim:

"They are getting away with sacks on their backs!"

Topic: The Leather Coats Avengers
Subject: Into the Forest of Frie

To Rescue Drog and Seg
Early Morning on Thursday
March 15, 212awd (After Winter Dark)

As much as the four hired guards had wanted to rush to the rescue of Drognaz and Segdra Kargaraganil; their combined experience and expertise in such matters prevailed over their emotions. The four Leather Coat Avengers wisely chose to rest and refresh themselves in the comforts of the Dragon Claw Inn, before setting out before the break of dawn to rescue Drog and Seg Kargar.

Fortunately, the rain had ceased well before midnight, so only the predawn chill of the rain soaked terrain greeted the LC Avengers as they set out alone on foot before the break of day.

Sentries had been posted outside the walls of the City of Lasch, but there were no patrols to assist the adventurers. The news shared by Fredrico and Lars with the authorities regarding the attacks from the Goblins and Kobalds, not to mention the hooded figure commanding the Skeletons, had brought a sense of urgency to garrison the city with every available soldier and warrior in the area.

Setting out alone suited the foursome just as well from their own individual perspectives, surmising that the experienced few may have a better chance of locating and rescuing Drog and Seg, without alerting any foes that a rescue party was penetrating the Forest of Frie that morning.

Dannamar noted, as did his companions, that the wagon tracks leading into the forest showed no signs of a war party or bandits forcing the treasure wagon to divorce itself from following Fredrico and Lars into the City of Lasch.

But it was soon evident that an innumerable company of Goblins and other booted vermin had made the interior of the Forest of Frie their uncontested territory, judging from the band of tracks that criss crossed themselves in various directions, the further they penetrated inside the forest.

Cautiously the foursome pushed forward into the interior of the Forest of Frie, but fortunately there were no signs of immediate danger to challenge their search for Drog and Seg Kargar.

The first mile in the atmosphere of the forest was strangely silent, the canopy of trees closing in upon the adventurers with a stifling embrace that seemed to cut them off from any trace of civilization in the direction of the City of Lasch.

They searched further into the interior until they could hear off in the distance through the denseness of the trees the muffled sounds of a grisly celebration of sorts.

Huddling together to draw up a plan of strategies, the four Avengers nodded their silent agreement as to a plan of action, before cautiously proceeding any further into the interior of the Forest of Frie.

The muffled sounds drew ever clearer, as did the tell tale stench of butchered horse flesh that invaded their nostrils, but there were no signs of any Goblin sentries.

Pushing onward for another quarter mile, the Avengers paused to regroup and refine their plan of action, as it was determined that a large company of Goblins were within a half mile of where the Avengers were stalking their unsuspecting prey.

The foursome nodded their agreement once again, then pressed on as silently as they were able, until they came to the outskirts of a deceptively enormous clearing, where dozens of Goblin Raiders encircled the treasure wagon, boasting to one another and gorging themselves with horse flesh.

A few moments later the Avengers breathed a collective (but momentary) sigh of relief, as they spotted Drog and Seg Kargar at the furthest point of the clearing, holding each other close with calm smiles on their faces, as another 3 dozen Goblins surrounded them, threatening to eat them alive!

Subject: Bringing Up the Rear

Gamard the Grim had risen early to pack his things and make ready for the journey to seek out and expunge the threat of the Cruniak.

It had been a long hard ride, but the Knight of Aina'rutha had become accustomed to such inconveniences during his years of seeking and slaying the various enemies of light and life that his duties as a Cleric of the Holy Avenger required him to fulfill in service to Solanis.

Gamard had saddled his horse and packed his things as comfortably as possible for his mount, before taking a stroll to commune with Solanis, preparing himself for whatever unexpected challenges would unfold during the course of their journey.

This also allowed for the Khord to decide where best to ride in the company of his fellow adventurers. After a short season of prayer, he decided that protecting the backs of his companions would prove to be the best choice of strategy against any unknown evil they may encounter.

Once the road had funneled itself into a thin dirt path shrouded by the thick canopy of the forest, his companions Talon and Crow had taken the initiative to search for any signs of the Cruniak.

Gamard dismounted, thoughtfully drumming his fingers upon the head of his warhammer, silently surveying the area to either side, before facing the direction from whence they had come, prepared for any surprise attack from the rear.

He methodically placed the first of 40 bullets into his sling, then crouched low and away from his mount, steadying himself with his quarterstaff as he listened for any sound out of the ordinary.

Gamard the Grim waited for his comrades to apprise him of the situation up ahead, while he secured their safety from the rear of the procession.

Gamard is crouching a bit off the path facing the direction they have just come from (which would be to his right with his back to his companions, but on their left side of the path facing forward).

He is relying upon his keen instincts of vision and hearing to react to any threat in any direction, taking note of where his companions are gathered and how he may aid them should an attack come from any direction while they explore the surrounding area!
