Ollie Gory the Bard
Combat First Round

A sense of pride surged through Ollie Gory as he witnessed the drama of his friend ThunnGarr the Mighty striking the first blow of the Emancipation Sand Dance ... knocking the Giant Ant unconscious with one mighty heave of his Dwarven Thrower War Hammer!

But there would be time enough later to compose songs and orations of this momentous feat ... for there were 99 other Giant Ants marching to destroy their prey!

Ollie Gory instinctively reached for the Wand of the Finger of Death in an effort to aid his friends at the South End of the Dark Arena ... there were 50 Charges in the Wand ... and Ollie Gory was determined to do his part to thin the ranks of the Giant Ants as quickly as possible!

Pointing the Wand towards the Giant Ant positioned at the end of the last line on the sands below ... a scant 25 feet away ... representing a possible future threat to the Giant Dwarf who stood a mere 70 feet further away ... the Half-Orc Bard focused his energies to ridding the sands of another potential danger!

"Die Hideous Vermin! Vanish Foul Monstrosity! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"

Whether it was a Roar from the Wand discharging its Death Sentence ... or the Roar of the Dark Arena Spectators ... Ollie Gory could not fathom ... for his entire focus was upon the Giant Ant at the end of the line ... as he witnessed "the end of the line" for his first targeted foe!

Instantly the Giant Ant lay dead upon the sands ... as the Half-Orc vented a victorious blood curdling cry of triumphant joy ... for the First Kill was his ... and his alone!

No the Composite Long Bow has a range of 110 feet and the Heavy Cross Bow that the Fighters are using has a range of 120 feet.

So you could actually fire at one of the Giant Ants attacking the East End Monks, but first things first and Yes You are Able to Fire from where you are standing and hit any target within 110 feet range!

Anyway, I have you noted to target Ant #4 in the second row!

Guess I only have time enough to write up what the Bard does because I am getting sleepy now!

Subject: We Caught a Break in Our Favor for Second Round

Just for the record, we the prisoners caught a break on the Initiative Roll for the Second Combat Round as I am rolling Initiative for the Ants as one group and all 4 Prisoner Types as one group!

I have completed all the Combat Round rolls for the other 3 groups here at the office at the end of the day!

If at all possible I will write up the results for the Bard, the Clerics the Monks and the Fighters if I am not too sleepy after I get home!

I rolled the Initiative for the Ants and then the Prisoners and the Prisoners won the Initiative, so all 4 groups get to attack again a 2nd Time before the Ants make a move!

Once all the PC Players have posted here at the Q&A as to which Ants you are attacking, then I can roll the scenario and write the results by Thursday if possible!

REMEMBER that if YOU Do Not Post Your Target by Wednesday then I will just Choose Your Target for you!

It may facilitate matters if you would also include your 2nd round choice of targets [dependent upon which Ants are still Alive!] and after I write up the results of your first attack I can follow up with the 2nd and by the weekend you will know what dire straights or good fortune your PC Character is facing!

The Game is Afoot My Friends!

Subject: Ollie Gory and Bumble Brew will attack ...

the following Ants!

Ollie Gory will use 1 Charge of his Wand of Finger of Death to Kill the Ant on the 5th row at the far right currently located 6 squares behind the Ant that has fallen!

Both Ants have failed their Saving Throws!

BUMBLE BREW will be advancing 15 feet in a diagonal line or to make it easier to figure out on the map the following move is what she is making:

She will be at the space 3 squares to her left towards the West and then 3 squares forward towards the North which is 3 spaces in a North West diagonal line!

Then she will activate her Rod of Power to Unleash a Fireball that uses up one of her 50 Charges!

The impact of that Charge will strike the First Ant on the Left of the Second Row!

Then the Fire Ball will mushroom out and cover the First 3 Ants on Row 4, the First 4 Ants on Row 3, All 5 Ants on Row 2 and the First 4 Ants on Row 1 which excludes the Fallen Ant that ThunnGarr struck and has fallen!

I am ruling that the Fallen Ant fell to the right side of the square and therefore the Fire Ball just misses contact with that one!

The Fire Ball will Burn Up Any Arrows, so Bumble Brew is unleashing the Fire Ball at the last possible moment after everyone else has fired their Arrow or Arrows!

NOTE that MOST of the Ants struck by the Fire Ball will still be able to move on their next turn in whatever direction they react to moving!

So Your Second Attacks May or May Not Involve Hand Weapons as they can move farther and Attack than your characters can!

SHADOWDRAGON, NOMAD D2, BRIANNA, DRAGON MISTRESS and CIRROWOLF are to Post which Ant they are Firing Upon with their Arrows!

Meanwhile, I will work out what Ollie Gory, the Clerics, the Monks and the Fighters have done with their First Attack and then proceed to the Second Round of Combat for All Those NPCs while I await your instructions here!

After writing in Land of Xenophobia the results of the First Attack by the NPC Characters then I will Proceed to Write the Results of the Second Attack while hopefully being able to write the results of the PC Characters and their First Attack results!

You All Have Until Wednesday to Pick Your Targets or Else I Will Choose Your Target to Move the Game Along after I Post the NPC Character Results!

Made a Mistake on the BtH for ThunnGarr the Mighty!

I will be Deleting the GRIEVOUSLY WOUNDED addition that I Added to the Edit yesterday!

I mistakenly added his +4 BtH to the Damage Dealt when it actually is used to be added to the roll that determines if his attack makes contact with the intended target victim!

For all Players I am waiving that roll for the first round of attacks!

Therefore the Ant that ThunnGarr the Mighty has attacked has Only Passed Out and it will take another 10 points of Damage to Kill the Ant that is down!

That means that it will take anywhere from 2 to 10 Arrows to Kill the fallen Ant depending upon the rolls I make!

Please Post Here at the Q&A what your Character will do as far as shooting an Arrow (2 Arrows for Cunning Fox and Ullrich by the way!) and which Ant you are shooting!

Your First Shot is Guaranteed to score a hit as I have waived the roll for whether or not your character makes a successful hit against the Ants!

From 2nd attack onward I will apply the dice rolls!

REMEMBER that I am rolling all Dice for All Combat Results!

Just Post Here What Your Character is Attacking and Where!

ABRAXIS is the Only One Who Has Posted Which Ant He is Attacking!

What About Everyone Else?

I will Post Ollie Gory and Bumble Brew sooon!

Subject: Cirro

Hey Cirro

Castles & Crusades uses a Siege Engine with the 12/18 Primes and Non-Primes system!

NO Feats! NO Skills!

Below is a brief description from Wikipedia

Castles & Crusades
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

System Siege Engine
Castles & Crusades is a role-playing game published by Troll Lord Games in 2004.

It was conceived as a reimagining of classic Dungeons & Dragons using streamlined mechanics from third edition Dungeons & Dragons.

The game uses many of the d20 System mechanics, but eliminates skills and feats and expands the number of character classes to 13.

Another feature is the reversion of some rules to the original versions seen in original Dungeons & Dragons (often referred to as "OD&D") or first edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D).

The system that Castles & Crusades uses is called the SIEGE Engine.

A significant new mechanic is the notion of "Primes," often referred to by gamers as the 12/18 system.

Through selection of character class and race, players designate some of their character's attributes as "Prime."

These Prime attributes use a challenge base of 12, while non-Prime attributes use a challenge base of 18.

Tasks based on the Prime attribute are therefore much easier to accomplish than those based on non-Primes.

Primes allow a wider variety of characters to be created because characters of same class may excel at different types of tasks.

Present Day

As the last tones of the Bone Flute echoed eerily throughout the Dark Arena ... the mesmerized crowd began to murmer with expectation ... as Ollie Gory raised his Composite Long Bow in his left hand ... and his Staff of Evocation in his right hand ... to signal that the Emancipation Sand Dance was finally about to begin ...

Positioning himself in the southeast corner of the Crows Nest ... facing his South End friends ... the Half-Orc Bard declared:

"Contestants and Combat Connoisseurs! May I Have Your Attention Please!"

Everyone in the Dark Arena became involuntarily silent as they hung upon the Bard's every utterance!

"By Special Proclamation of the Dark Arena Consortium ... For His 10 Years of Service as the Senior Gladiator ... ThunnGarr the Mighty has been Granted the Distinct Honor of Striking the First Blow Against the First Wave of Opponents to Enter the Dark Arena!"

Almost as one entity, the Dark Arena audience turned their gaze towards the Giant Dwarf at the South End of the Dark Arena, who had become a well respected Living Legend among most of the Nefaria populace.

Even the Human Fighters from the Free Booters Society raised their weapons in a respectful salute to the Giant Dwarf ... as they too Roared Their Approval in Unison with the Raucous Revelers!

In spite of all their Pride and Arrogance ... the Fighters were well aware of the popularity the Giant Dwarf had gained for Refusing to Exterminate His Own People ... who had Despised and Rejected the Giant Dwarf Barbarian those Many Long Years Ago!

To the Free Booters Society, ThunnGarr the Mighty was a Kindred Spirit ... worthy of their Respect and Honor!

Raising his weapons once again, the crowd quieted down to a Dull Roar as Ollie Gory continued his oration:

"Every Great Historical Moment is Marked by the Spectacle of the Occasion!"

"The Emancipation Sand Dance Has No Difference!"

"Every Great Occasion Should Be Celebrated With A Parade!"

"So the Dark Arena Consortium Gives You the Parade You Will All Remember for Countless Generations!"

"The Parade of the Giant Worker Ants!"

The Dark Arena onlookers gasped in collective awe as a Small Army of Giant Ants began climbing their way out from the Elevator Shaft ... marching in all 4 directions!

ThunnGarr the Mighty tensed his muscles as he gripped his Dwarven Thrower War Hammer in anticipation of the First Strike to begin their Battle for Survival on the Dark Arena Sands!

The Giant Ants advanced in companies of 5 ... standing 3 feet high, 2 feet long and 1 foot wide.

The first line advanced 50 feet ... a mere 40 feet away from the competitors at the East, West, North and South Ends ... but ThunnGarr the Mighty stayed his hand to observe how many ants would march in all 4 directions ... and especially where they would position themselves!

In mere moments the Giant Ants were grouped in lines of 5 "side-by-side" so to speak in each adjacent 5 foot square ... with a 5 foot square space between each of the 5 lines that marched relentlessly towards each of the 4 groups of combatants!

A total of 25 Giant Worker Ants were advancing towards each group of gladiators ... Meaning that a Grand Total of 100 Giant Worker Ants would have to Be Eliminated ... Before the Second Wave of Opponents would be Allowed to Enter the Dark Arena battle area!

ThunnGarr the Mighty secured his Large Shield of Bashing on his left arm ... as he began swinging his Dwarven Thrower War Hammer with his right hand ... quickly moving forward 10 feet ... Suddenly ... with a Great Grunt ... the Giant Dwarf Barbarian hurled his Dwarven Thrower at the Giant Worker Ant directly in front of him!

The Dark Arena spectators erupted with a Roar of Blood Thirsty Approval as the Giant Ant absorbed the shock of the full force of the Dwarven Thrower!

Time seemed to stand still as the Giant Ant wobbled unsteadily ... seemingly shuddered uncontrollably ... then fell to the Dark Arena sands ... twitching as it lost consciousness ... But Very Much Alive!

As ThunnGarr's Dwarven Thrower boomeranged back into his waiting hand ... the rest of his teammates ... along with the Clerics, Monks and Fighters to the West, East and North Ends of the Dark Arena ... sprang into action in response to ThunnGarr's signal ... as their Fight for Survival and Freedom had begun!

Dark Arena March of the Giant Ants">

NOTE from the Castle Keeper
ThunnGarr the Mighty is 2 squares in front of the #5 position square.

The Giant Ant that is 6 squares in front of ThunnGarr has been knocked unconscious by the force of the blow, but is Very Much Alive!

I am ruling that both Cunning Fox and Ullrich have the ability to fire 2 Arrows per Combat Round due to their Backgrounds and Primes!

Sir Yder, Sirae Amberlyn Foxfire, Shandra and Ariane Avendre can shoot Only 1 Arrow!

Bumble Brew will have to rely upon her Staff of Power to take 1 shot at the Giant Ants with whatever Spell unleashed from her Staff of Power that she chooses!

Post your thoughts on the Q&A and in the next few days I will post the outcome of how Ollie Gory the Bard ... plus the Clerics, Monks and Fighters ... fare with their first shots!

Ollie Gory is watching your backs this First Combat Round as he will fire 1 shot at the Giant Ant on the back row on the right end 8 squares behind the Giant Ant that ThunnGarr knocked unconscious!

REMEMBER
The Giant Worker Ants are able to move 50 feet at a time [10 squares] or can move up to 25 feet [5 squares] and then Attack an Opponent by Biting!

Each PC Character may move 30 feet [6 squares] or up to 15 feet [3 squares] and then attack the Opponent of their choice!

There are instances where you can Charge and Attack an Opponent between 30 to 60 feet away with a penalty to your Armor defense!

You can also Jog twice your 30 foot movement rate [up to 60 feet] or run 4 times your 30 foot movement rate [up to 120 feet] but you must declare such action!

Castle Keeper's NOTE:

DOH
I Deleted the Note due to a mistake from adding +4 BtH to Damage Dealt instead of to the roll to determine if the target was a Hit or a Miss!

The Fallen Giant Ant has Only Passed Out and Needs to Be Dealt 10 More Points of Damage to Die!

Your Arrows Only Deal 1d8 points of Damage so it will take from 2 to 10 Arrows for the Ant to Die Instantly depending upon the Damage Roll that I make for Your Characters Attacks!

It is currently at 0 and when it reaches -7 it will Bleed to Death after 3 Rounds!

ANOTHER NOTE:
Something to keep in mind about your Movements is that once the 100 Giant Ants are Slain ... the Second Wave of Opponents will Emerge & quite possibly attack depending upon the location of the NPC & PC Characters!

ONE MORE THING:
Note that I have adjusted the Size of the Giant Worker Ants to 3 feet high, 2 feet long and 1 foot wide!

Just in case some Giant Soldier Ants show up at some point in the adventure!

Giant Worker Ants Only Bite!

Giant Soldier Ants Bite and have an Acid Sting & are Larger than the Workers!

Emancipation Sand Dance
Opening Ceremony Introductions
Present Day

Ollie Gory ascended to the "Crows Nest" as the standing room only crowd stood to their feet with thunderous applause from beyond the magical barrier Dark Arena Dome that surrounded the 220 foot square Dark Arena battle sands area.

The Dark Arena Dome had the effect of a twilight atmosphere where no direct sunlight was able to penetrate, allowing for gladiator opponents possessing night vision to have a distinct advantage of not being impaired with their night vision, or for those "Rare Occasions" when Undead Opponents would roam freely within the Dark Arena wreaking their unnerving brand of terror against the unsuspecting gladiators who had the misfortune of drawing the Undead as Surprise Opponents in their Battle for Freedom.

Slowly, the 20 foot square portion of the center of the Dark Arena Sands that served as the Elevator for transporting gladiators and their opponents [from their chambers far below the Dark Arena to the Battle Sands above] ... ever slowly for maximum effect ... the Elevator bearing Ollie Gory made its ascent to the 15 foot high Crows Nest.

The Crows Nest was a 5 foot wide Runway Area immediately encircling the 20 foot square Elevator area where the Fight Announcer could walk around observing the progress of the battles while describing the action to the surrounding spectators, by means of a Magically Amplified System that caused the Announcer's voice to be heard over the din of battle and the riotous cheers of the revelers viewing the fights.

After a lengthy dissertation from the Half-Ogre Bard embelllishing the generosity and virtues of the Dark Arena Consortium for hosting such an unprecedented awesome spectacle in the Dark Arena ... and then went into a rather lengthy and humorous diatribe ... extolling the benefits of the innumerable amusements, refreshments and wagering stalls provided for the enjoyment of each and every Dark Arena spectator, customer and consumer.

Ollie Gory then raised his Composite Long Bow in his left hand and his Staff of Evocation in his right hand to further dramatize the importance and rarity of this much anticipated Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance that was declared to be a Battle to the Death and officially sanctioned by the Dark Arena Consortium.

Ollie Gory had brought his own small arsenal of weapons to the gala event including a Finger of Death Wand [50 Charges], Staff of Evocation, Composite Long Bow, Quiver of 20 Arrows and a Javelin.

He also brought 16 more Javelins and 6 more Quivers of Arrows which he placed facing the South End of the Dark Arena to signify that he was indeed covering the backs of ThunnGarr the Mighty and his South End team of gladiators!

The Bard chose to wear Soft Boots and was clad in Studded Leather Armor and a Leater Coif Helm.

"Citizens of Nefaria and Those from Beyond the Borders of the Roxas Isla Realm! I Too Shall Aid These Gladiators in Their Fight for Freedom and Thus Obtain My Own!"

The crowd went wild at this unsuspected news!

After several minutes had passed as the roar of the exuberant crowd finally subsided, Ollie Gory pointed with his Staff of Evocation to the arena sands below where the first team of gladiators had emerged.

Walking in a complete circle a few yards from the center of the arena sands, for all the spectators around the Dark Arena to get a good view of the participants ... and place their bets on this group's chances for survival ... while carrying their individual burden of extra weapons as the crowd roared its collective approval before the first group proceeded to take their positions at the East End of the Dark Arena.

Introducing the Halfling Monks from the Order of the Golden Dawn!"

The Halfling Monks each deposited their Extra Weapons ... including 16 Javelins and 4 Quivers of 20 Arrows ... at the base of the Dark Arena Wall 10 feet behind their assigned positions.

Then they stood at attention in their Bare Feet, wearing nothing but Fighting Trousers ... armed with a Composite Long Bow, a Quiver of 20 Arrows, a Javelin, a Club, a Hand/Throwing Axe plus a Dagger ... as the second group of gladiators made their entrance upon the Dark Arena sands.

"Introducing the Gnome Clerics from the Clan of the Copper Caverns!"

The Gnome Clerics also walked in a complete circle with their burden of extra weapons as the crowd again roared its collective approval ... while wagering more on bets ... as the Gnome Clerics made their way to the West End of the Dark Arena to deposit their Extra Weapons ... including a Quarterstaff, War Hammer, 2 Clubs, 6 Quivers of 20 Arrows plus 20 Daggers.

Equipped with their inherited Gnome Illusion Spells of Dancing Lights, Ghost Sound and Prestidigitation ...their deity had also bestowed upon them the following Cleric Spells: Create Water, First Aid, Light, Purify Food & Drink, Cure Light Wounds, Shield of Faith, Sound Burst, Consecrate and Spiritual Weapon!

Then they too stood at attention at their assigned positions in their Bare Feet ... wearing Scale Mail Armor and a Leather Coif Helm ... armed with a Composite Long Bow, a Quiver of 20 Arrows plus a Club ... as the third group of gladiators made their rather boisterous way onto the Dark Arena sands.

"Introducing the Human Fighters from the Free Booters Society!"

The Human Fighters raised their weapons with menacing looks towards the cheering throngs as they marched boldy in the same circle as the other two groups of gladiators had done previously.

While passing in front of the Clerics and later the Monks, they looked with disdain and voiced their derision at the piles of Extra Weapons the Clerics and Monks had brought with them to the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance.

These were a Proud and Arrogant Group of Fighters who thought of themselves more highly as a Fighting Unit than any of the other groups of participants could ever hope to become.

They were the Heavy Favorites and when the crowd saw that the Human Fighters of the Free Booters Society only carried Heavy Cross Bows, a Quiver of 12 Bolts, a Two-Handed Axe, a Hand/Throwing Axe plus a Dagger ... while wearing Soft Boots with Plate Mail Armor and a Normal Helm ... and had NO Extra Weapons to place in a pile 10 feet behind them as the other two groups of gladiators had previously done ... the wagering frenzy increased as multitudes placed their bets on the Human Fighters who bore NO Extra Weapons!

There were those who wagered against the odds of the Human Fighters failing to gain their freedom ... for surely the most astute of Dark Arena Historians had either read, heard or witnessed in their youth the accounts from years past that led them to believe that the Dark Arena Consortium must have some sort of Nasty Surprise in store for those Fighters who had defied their orders and refused to hunt and enslave other intelligent creatures and exotic prisoners for the Dark Arena gladiator rosters ... not to mention those Clerics and Monks who had refused to reveal the whereabouts of the fabled Dragon Treasures that the Dark Arena Consortium and many others had so desperately coveted to fill their coffers with unspeakable wealth and treasured magical items!

The Human Fighters of the Free Booters Society took their assigned positions at the North End of the Dark Arena battle sands with Exceeding Arrogance and Pride in Regards to their own Legendary Ferocity and Ability as Mercenary Fighters ... Convinced that the ONLY Weapons Needed were the Weapons that they Carried into Battle during the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance!

Finally ... the Most Popular of the Dark Arena Gladiators among the Population began making their way into the Dark Arena.

"Introduuucing Those Who Need No Introduction! ThunnGarr the Mighty and His Band of Other World Wonders!"

"Bumble Brew the Elf Wizard ... Cunning Fox the Human Cleric ... Sir Yder the Human Knight ... Ullrich Uppsdrada the Human Ranger ..."

Then pausing once more for the greatest effect as the Dark Arena crowd rose to their feet as One Great Gleeful Assembly ... as their hero from the past 10 years of Dark Arena Glory made his Last Grand Entrance to the Battle Arena Sands in His Quest for Freedom ... the Bard waited as long as he dared before declaring ...

"ThunnGarr the Mighty!"

The place went wild as the Dark Arena shook with excitement ... and Ollie Gory waited patiently before continuing ... for this was a Grand Historical Moment Indeed ... the Final Fight Featuring the Fabled Giant Dwarf ... who had defied his captors all these many long years of captivity ... for refusing to exterminate his own people!

Finally ... the Bard Announcer was able to continue and complete his introduction of the immensely popular South End gladiators ...

"Sirae Amberlyn Foxfire the Human Knight ... Shandra the Elf Monk ... and Last ... But Certainly NOT Least ... Ariane Arvendre the Human Paladin!"

As the Final and Most Popular Group of Gladiators made their way around the circle ... they absorbed the adulation of the Blood Thirsty Crowd ... and nodded their acknowledgements of appreciation to the crowd ... as best as they could do while bearing the burden of carrying their Extra Weapons ... as well as nodding to their fellow gladiators who were already assembled in their assigned positions ... awaiting the festivities to subside and give way to their anticipation of the inevitable Battle for Survival ... and their Promised Freedom!

The Halfling Monks bowed as the South Enders filed past them ... only to be greeted with disdain and derision as the South Enders passed by the Proud and Arrogant Human Fighters who taunted them unmercifully for bringing Extra Weapons to the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance Battle Sands!

But as they passed by the West End group of Gnome Clerics ... each of the South Enders could sense a confident reassurance from the Cleric Competitors that bringing the Extra Weapons would prove to be their Key to Survival ... as a Stark Contrast to the Inevitable Downfall of the Proud and Arrogant Human Fighters ... who had refused to do so!

ThunnGarr the Mighty and his group resolutely made their way to the South End ... depositing their Extra Weapons at the Base of the Wall 10 feet behind their assigned positions ... then pausing ... and solemnly saluting the crowd immediately behind them in the South End section ... before standing at attention in their assigned positions ... awaiting the First Wave of Opponents to Emerge!

Bumble Brew deposited 10 Clubs, 20 Daggers plus 2 Quivers of 20 Arrows each for one of her teammates to use if they needed the Extra Arrows!

Well I am about 12 hours behind on posting the introduction to our adventure!

I walked to work yesterday morning and then walked home and after eating something I fell asleep!

At least I have the Intro and Opening hand written so that should diminish the time it takes to write it and I will be assigning backup weapons as I write!

Hopefully I will get the Opening written later tonight as for now I will start typing the Intro!

I am looking for something different and this may be just the thing!

Character choice would be a Khord who is a mushroom munching hallucinogenic mad man!

The thought sparked when I went to the Audalis info and ran across a reference to hallucinogetic mushrooms and even other bizarre references to lost tunnels!

Perhaps a Cleric, but his mad behvavior induced by mushroom consumption may possibly negate that opportunity?

If this is something workable in your adventure then please PM me any further guidelines and I will consider the possibilities!

The opportunity to play in one of your games is the drawing card here!

..... the rough draft to the Opening Introduction to our Land of Xenophobia adventure this morning with a pen and legal pad of paper before going to the office!

You have approximately until Saturday afternoon September 27th at 2pm Eastern Time [which is 9pm my time overseas!] to submit your requests for Extra Weapons with your remaining EV points.

Otherwise when I type up the Opening Intro on Saturday night [before I go to sleep!] your PC Character will be assigned an armful of Weapons so that we can move the adventure along without any further delays!

Hopefully within 24 hours later [on Sunday the 28th of September] the Emancipation Sand Dance will begin with the First Wave of Opponents making their entrance upon the Dark Arena sands!

As the Senior Gladiator our own teammate ThunnGarr the Mighty has the Distinct Honor to give the signal to begin the Emancipation Sand Dance Battle for Survival by striking the first blow!

Okay Sports Fans! I have just finished scribbling the rough draft for the Entry of the First Wave of Opponents to Begin the Emancipation Sand Dance!

Get Ready for Plenty of Excitement and High Adventure!

Subject: Benefits from Team Training is ...

..... now posted with the BUMBLE BREW imprint which means that I can now focus some more attention on getting the Weapons EV for each character settled so I can get this adventure launched properly!

Remember that I am also awarding Experience Points along the way for the Role Play writing from each character!

Currently each character has 1500 Experience Points going into the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance!

There is a Dark Arena Enhancement Factor to All Experience Points and the PC Characters have received 200 Experience Points each of the first 5 months of their imprisonment training for a total of 1000.

Another 200 Experience Points was received in the 6th month to increase the total to 1200.

Because of the Team Training and the Special Gifts received, including the Tomes and Manuals that our characters are studying in the final 2 weeks of the 6th month, I have awarded an additional 300 Experience Points to each PC Character for a running total of 1500.

That Does NOT Include Any Experience Points beign awarded for Role Play writing!

Shandra the Monk is now only 251 Experience Points Away from being a 2nd Level PC Character!

While in Contrast the Paladin is 1,201 Experience Points away from being a 2nd Level PC Character and everyone else falls somewhere in between those numbers!

Dark Arena Experience Points Enhancement will be accumulated and multiplied after the Final Wave of Opponents have been defeated.

The Number of Survivors will determine how many of the Multiplied Experience Points that Each Survivor receives!

Experience Points for each wave of opponents from the Dark Arena are multiplied and then divided by the total number of survivors!

Your PC Characters get an additional 100 Experience Points to your personal XP for each Wave of Opponents that you survive!

Plus whatever number of XP is arbitrarily awarded for your Role Play writing in the Land of Xenophobia threads!

When a PC Character attains another level in XP it usually takes that number of weeks for the PC Character to train and adjust to the New Level of Experience!

[2nd Level = 2 weeks; 3rd Level = 3 weeks etc]

However ... in the Dark Arena ... each PC Character will Automatically Adjust to the Number of Levels Increased by the Multiplied Experience Points and ADDITIONAL XP awarded by the Castle Keeper after the Final Foe is Slain!

So if a PC Character has enough XP to advance from 1st to 3rd Level it would take 2 weeks + another 3 weeks for a total of 5 weeks for the adjustment to take place!

But in the Dark Arena that Adjustment Time only takes about 30 Minutes after the Accumulated Multiplied XP is factored in from Slaying the Final Foe to Enhance the PC Character!

For Example ... Shandra will probably have enough XP for a 2nd Level Monk before the First Wave of Opponents is Exterminated ... [on the Strength of the Role Play Writing that Dragon Mistress has Demonstrated in Various Adventures where she plays at the Red Dragon Inn!] ... but Shandra will NOT be able to Increase Levels until the Final Foe from the Final Wave is Slain!

So Get Your Writing Tools Ready and Prepare for an Awesome Adventure!

Not to Mention Your Choice of Extra Weapons to Make Sure You Survive the Dark Arena Experience!

Subject: BUMBLE BREW Benefits from Team Training

Secluded Meeting Room
Deep within the Bowels of the Dark Arena
Two Weeks Ago

Bumble Brew proved to be a quick learner as she observed her fellow prisoners and how they approached training and fighting with their particular styles and weapons.

In 4 weeks time she had improved considerably with her Quarterstaff under the watchful eye of ThunnGarr the Mighty as he instructed her how to develop her limited battle talents with the additional use of the Club and Dagger weapons.

The young Wizard soon caught the knack of how to throw both weapons at targets 10 feet away with accuracy and damaging authority.

She would heed the advice of her teammates and make sure she carried plenty of Clubs and Daggers into the Dark Arena for the upcoming Emancipation Sand Dance!

But now Bumble Brew was enjoying a secret battle strategy session with ThunnGarr and the rest of her teammates.

Especially since she was able to relax a bit and recuperate from the countless aches and pains acquired from her rigorous training sessions.

She was especially pleased to have won a couple of fights in the past month and had fought another opponent to a crowd-pleasing Draw in her Final Saturday Night Fight before being granted a 2-week reprieve to better prepare for the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance.

Even the Black Hooded Guards had paid for their insolence in recent days as Bumble Brew put into practice what she had observed from Shandra the Monk; utilizing her blunted Club to knock a couple of Black Hooded Guards down, then punishing them with her new-found prowess with the blunted Quarterstaff, teaching them some hard lessons of her own for subjecting Bumble Brew to their sadistic brand of humiliation these past months.

At the end of the current strategy session, Bumble Brew and her teammates received their Surprise Gifts that were sent from the mysterious Merchant.

They had all pledged to assist this unknown Merchant, if they managed to survive the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance, in exchange for his offered Treasure Items to give each of them a much better chance of surviving the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance experience.

Ollie Gory the Half-Orc Bard had briefly explained the importance of such rare gifts and artifacts as each item was carefully presented to its proper recipient.

Bumble Brew was quite pleased with what she had received, especially when Ollie Gory took plenty of time to instruct her in the use of the Staff of Power and the Wand of Cure Critical Wounds.

The young Wizard made sure that she did not accidentally set off one of the Charges prematurely; especially after the constant reminders that these items were presented as an advance-payment and would serve as survival tools, both in the Dark Arena as well as wherever their next assigned adventure took her and her companions should they emerge from the Dark Area as victors!

As for the Ring of Fire Elemental Command, Bumble Brew was quite fascinated by its seemingly harmless beauty, plus its potential for Great Power.

Wearing this particular Ring while possessing the other Special Items gave her a considerable boost of confidence of her chances for survival as the date of the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance drew ever closer.

Her instructions were to use these Special Gifts wisely. She intended to use these items with her newly acquired Wisdom and Intelligence to help her survive and mature to New Levels along the path of Wizardry that would set her family free once and for all from the Bumble Brew Curse!

But most of all she treasured the Tome of Clear Thought and the Tome of Understanding as she spent the next 2 weeks studying one volume from cover to cover in the expanse of 48 hours in 6 days and then repeating the discipline for another 48 hours in 6 days to Transform and Increase her Wisdom and Intelligence abilities Permanently!

Bumble Brew also took great comfort and solace in the reassurances from both Ollie Gory and ThunnGarr the Mighty that during the Dark Arena Emancipation Sand Dance the young Wizard would have her Spell Casting Abilities available to assist her and her teammates in their fight for survival and promised freedom!

The God of Greater Hope had proven many times over that Bumble Brew was not abandoned in her quest to free her loved ones from the Curse of Bumble Brew!

Subject: Cirro you forgot ...

..... to list the Composite Longbow and Quiver of 20 Arrows 4 EV + 2 EV to go with the Small Shield 2 EV and 2 Daggers 2 EV

Carry-wise you hit the jackpot when you were gifted with the Elven Chain and Chain Mail Coif Helm which is 1 EV(w) which is 0 EV when worn and the +2(+5)Holy Avenger Longsword is 3 EV which gives you your 13 EV without a Carry Penalty.

Plus your Soft Boots are 0 EV

I am allowing that your armor has sufficient areas for carrying all your accoutrements into the battle!

Sling for your Longsword is no extra EV charge!

There is a place to tuck the Wand, so just be inventive!

NOTE that your 13 Encumbrance rating allows you a maximum of 65 EV (5 x 13 = 65) to carry as Over Burdened into the Dark Arena, so you have 52 EV (65 - 13 = 52) that you can deposit in a pile 10 feet behind you!
