Subject: Okay

Archangel, Angelic, Tann and Brundel have sent me PM Messages and I know that Ziklag, Ody and Tuned are pretty much active!

I do realize that Kamina is wrapped up with a busy August and I am NPCing Vincent; just not heard anything from Jozan nor Salvator (am NPCing Bartimeous).

We will see who has posted by the end of the week and I will cobble together an Update, depending upon the responses in the Game Thread and QnA also!

Subject: Important Info Needed

I will need to know where every character is at this point and what each character does!

Any connecting caverns, tunnels etc. are obviously under the surface of the Pool of Water, but you do not know how deep the Pool of Water is!

Mud is undisturbed, but who wants to chance to find out if the Mud has quicksand possibilities ?????

Bartimeous has an extremely heavy large sack of gold to show to Dagger, Captain Crayfish and the Stout Hearts!

So let me know how you Players plan to play your Characters from this point in the adventure ???

Subject: Okay Gang

I took some liberty with NPCing the Cleric and the Knight, but the other characters not mentioned by name in the Game Post were doing whatever exploring or defending they chose to do!

So Brundel and Archangel and anyone else can fill in the blanks whenever they Post in Game!

The area outside 'The Map' would be anywhere from 20 to 30 feet (North, South and West) and the Pool of Water surrounded by Mud is about 50 feet to the East, revealing nothing in the way of hidden staircases, tunnels, traps etc; Meaning that any such connection to any other caverns are Under Water! How far under water is not discernable by any of the Seekers!

This would suggest that the only Survivor was Faldian Misirim, but that is up to the characters to figure out given the current Game Post

Subject: Cautious Exploration

Crow chose to remain in a position of covering his comrades with his bow and arrows, strategically surveying the cavern below from his 'perch' atop the first landing.

He gladly surrendered his large sack to Bartimeous who had decided to make sure that the Seekers returned to Dagger and the Captain of the Toothless Dragon with proof that a treasure truly existed underground.

The Cleric whispered his intentions to his 'shadow' Vincent who gladly followed him to the chests, helping him fill the large sack with a generous helping of Human Round Gold Coins; followed by numerous Dwarf Gold Squares (to which the Cleric was partial from his countless wagers at a variety of Dwarf Gaming Tables throughout the Voralberg Mountains).

For good measure, they added several Orc Gold Plates to their large sack of plunder!

Fortunately, there was No Curse of Any Kind attached to any of the coins!

A somewhat humorous development, since some of the other Seekers had dropped their coins, suspicious of any curse that may have been attached to the coins in their possession, that the Seekers had found strewn upon the steps and cavern floor.

The Knight also took it upon himself to gather up the candles on the table top, before he and his Cleric companion climbed back up the steps to reunite with the Ranger standing guard with his bow and arrows; the labored breathing of the Cleric giving everyone a clue as to the weight of gold loot he was carrying in his borrowed sack.

Crow noted that the number of candles brought to him by Vincent completely replaced those he had used to make the two torches to help light their way below the surface, but the Ranger kept a steady eye on the rest of the Seekers, ready to fire arrow after arrow against any surprise attack from any unknown foe!

Areldor had secured the Fire Wand inside his pouch and was admiring the fit of the Bracers of Armor that Elyra had bequeathed to him as the lone magician of the group!

She began exploring the perimeters of the cavern as the Illusionist gladly surrendered his lantern to Jaufre when the Paladin asked for his light source to better explore the shadowed secrets of the cavern.

Armed with his Club, the Illusionist accompanied the Paladin in a thorough search of the cavern.

Tohmas chose to examine the natural wonders of the river, mud and gazed for long moments into the depths of the pool of water, but the Shaman found no clues!

For over 30 long minutes the Seekers explored the expanse of the cavern, but there were no secret passages or tunnels of any type leading in any direction from the cavern, unless any such passages or tunnels lay well below the surface of the undisturbed pool of water!

Subject: Roll Call Positions Thus Far

Okay Gang

Crow is on the first landing providing cover with his bow and arrows!

Mylos is on the second landing, unless Brundel indicates he moves down to the Treasure Chests and whatever else he may be doing?

Amur is at the Table having called to Elyra!

Elyra is at the Table and has called to Areldor!

Areldor should be at the Table trying on his new Bracers and hopefully Not Playing with his new Wand and accidently shooting someone!

So where is everyone else and what are you doing?

I will NPC Bartimeous and Vincent accordingly!

I figure you probably used up 2 bundles of Candles (maybe 2 bundles per Torch) and probably at least 5 feet of rope and your bandages!

So give me a reasonable amount of what you used regarding Candles, Rope and Bandages and I will make the adjustments accordingly!

I have to leave soon for the morning meeting and will be gone the rest of the day and evening, so just post your answers here and I will make the adjustments!

Subject: Great Posts Angelic

Hey Gang

I had given Angelic and Archangel a 'Heads Up' about the Bracers and Wand, to make sure they were distributed to the intended character!

On rare occasions I will alert certain players and give them some insight regarding something they may discover, so that they can go ahead and Post In Game to keep things running smoothly!

Possible Future Example: I may alert Crow via PM to certain facts while he is tracking or alert Tohmas to give him some insight regarding the state of a forest etc.

At the moment I do not have any other Alerts to pass on to any Players, as I am waiting to see what actions some characters may take in the Cavern!

I gave the info to Angelic, rather than Mylos, because her character Elyra had spent a number of years in a Bard Academy; whereas, Mylos background was much different than hers, so he would probably not know what she does from her Bard Academy Training!

Currently NPCing:
Bartimeous the Cleric [played by Salvator]
Vincent the Knight [played by Kamina]

Kamina posted a notice earlier Sunday regarding a busy summer schedule, especially in August, so we will proceed once everyone else has had a chance to Post In Game what their character is doing!

[Also Helps when you mention it in the QnA]

The Black Market gunpowder bags cost 1 Gold each and for Game Purposes they are measured to provide 50 Shots!

So if you buy 100 Silver Laced Lead Balls and 20 Regular Lead Balls for a Flintlock Pistol, then you will need to buy 3 Bags of Gunpowder!

Also, the Enchanted Grenades inflict Damage upon the Undead (There Will Be Undead in This Game!) and Regular Grenades Do Not Damage Undead but Do Spoil a Humanoid's Day!

An Enchanted Pistol or Musket can fire a Regular Lead Ball and Because it is Enchanted, it will Damage Undead also with a Regular Lead Ball (But Keep in Mind the Prices!)

You are to Spend the Entire 5,000 Gold because these Items will Not Be Available once you leave Haven!

Topic: A Single Stone...
Subject: In Pursuit

Adelror could not envision allowing these scum to escape without further vengeance, especially if it meant endangering other innocents at a time in the not-too-distant future, if they were allowed to flee with their worthless lives!

He had made a promise; albeit, to some type of unknown entity who was not what she said she was, but the honor of the War Cleric was at stake; so he ran off in pursuit of the fleeing vermin, as fast as his short legs could close the distance!

The sword of the Dareen War Cleric was thirsty for the shedding of blood, whether or not Bailox or anyone else was wont to do the same!

"Cowards! Filth! Vermin!"

OOC: Adelror hastens after the fleeing men, ready to spill their blood with his Long Sword at the ready!

If they manage to outrun him, the Duskarn War Cleric will turn his attention to one or more of the brigands that Bailox manages to subdue with a well aimed arrow!

He is ready to play 'Good Cop, Bad Cop'; desiring to question them about where they are from, where they are going, who they serve in whose employ and why they ambushed the wagon, killed one of the men and what they intended to do with the other captives?

If there are two injured and unable to move, the War Cleric is ready, willing and able to run one of them through with his sword, to get the other one to talk freely!

He will also debate with Bailox or anyone else about holding one or more of them prisoner, willing rather to run his sword through their dark hearts for their evil deeds!

This should loosen their tongues with the needed information!

Subject: Next Update Time Lag

I have some Real Life obligations that will need my attention during the coming week, so I will not be posting any updates and may not be answering any questions in the QnA, depending upon my time constraints!

Beginning Sunday night, I will be in Ministry Meetings 3 times a day from Monday thru Friday!

This is a good time for some Role Play and also allows us to find out how many of the 10 Players are actually still with us at the present time!

I understand that Tann was injured in a car wreck (knee) and we hope for a speedy recovery to the man behind Crow!

As you can read from the Post, the steps and Chests are free from any traps or cursed spells!

That includes the Gold Coins! (Also includes the Orc and Dwarf Coins!)

You can all start discussing what you are going to do now!

Subject: Word Clues

Crow drew his bow, ever vigilant against an unexpected attack, while his friend Tohmas did the same, after shouting out a warning that the parchment may have some type of curse or trap!

However, the two Bards, Elyra and Mylos did not seem to pay any attention to the shout from above!

Disregarding the warning from the cautious Shaman, the two Bards first examined the skeletal remains of what had been a left hand; obviously bitten off below the fingertips and above the middle knuckles, with no trace of the missing left thumb!

They eagerly grabbed the parchment, puzzling over its contents, as they unrolled it to its full length; although there were no cursed repercussions from touching the parchment, as the Shaman had feared, both Bards soon discovered that the contents read like the ramblings of a mad man, written in several archaic and unknown or forgotten languages and scripts!

Amur had passed them by, moments before they had reached for the parchment, searching the area for traps. The boy Rogue was disregarding the gold coins; while considering that some people may have to learn the hard way; when it comes to hidden treasures, mysterious parchments and the possibility of life threatening traps!

Fortunately for the Seekers, no traps were laying in wait along the steps, nor were there any traps associated with the three treasure chests on the stone floor below!

There were no markings indicating to whom the treasure chests belonged, not one trace of an etching of a Toothless Dragon, so they did not seem to be the forgotten property of their employer, Mad Dog Muldoon; nor was their any other seal to indicate they belonged to any type of royalty or city treasury!

However, the chest on the left was filled to the brim with Orc Gold Plates, (10 Plates = 50 Human Round Gold Coins). The middle chest contained an equally brimming cache of Dwarf Gold Squares, (10 Dwarf Gold Squares = 30 Human Round Gold Coins).

The chest on the right was filled to over flowing with Human Round Gold Coins, that were spilled all round about the three chests and all along the steps the Rogue had traversed.

He had noticed on the way down, that the gold coins on the final flight of stairs had been pushed to either side of the steps, but there were no traps along the way.

The coins were also pushed aside against the two walls and the treasure chest on the far right (*when looking at the Map*) and as the boy Rogue carefully examined each treasure chest, he concluded that each weighed several hundred pounds, more weight than any two of the Seekers together, would be able to carry up the narrow flight of stairs between the two landings!

Meanwhile, the inquisitive Illusionist named Areldor got as close to the two Bards as he dared, silently praying to Minerva for protection, while the two Seekers together slowly deciphered a few random words:

"Beware
Giants
Forbidden
Mountains
Stay Away
South Village
Orcs
Magic
Danger
Dragons
Protect City
Destroy Forest
Curse Pirates
Hid Treasure
Doomed City
Took Refuge
River
Caverns
Stay Hidden
Ring of Sustenance
Arcane Magic
Forbidden Spells
Terrible Mistake
My Fault

Faldian Misirim
Junrero 23, 97awd"

The above 'Word Clues' give you a somewhat ambiguous picture of why the city is a pile of rubble!

You may Edit your game post to include your observation that the partial fingers with no thumb are from the left hand and that the remaining portions of the skeletal fingers were bitten!

You may also Edit to ask Mylos and Amur to help Elyra to decipher the text written on the parchment she is holding!

Also, that Mylos tapped Elyra on the left knee (short Gnome that he is!) and not on her shoulder!

Game is Progressing!
