"At the end of the corridor ... with a green demon's face ... there was a doorway filled with mist ... that teleported party members into another section of the tomb ... but without any of their equipment ... or clothing!

"Ahh ok these are PAST tales rt?"

Maximus, no coward in the face of many enemies, found himself somewhat embarrassed at the idea of himself naked in front of Finarsil, Lun and Sparrow. Please not a NAKED teleported thing again The big Fighter/Thief could only await Finersil's reply.

Finarsil smiled at Maximus as she replied:

"Yes, Max, these are indeed PAST tales!

"But there were several verified accounts of the mists that filled the doorway at the end of the corridor!

"Verified accounts by survivors at different times by a variety of adventurers!

"The mists still exist friend Maximus!

"This was common knowledge to Galen!

"It would be wise to follow our friend through the Broken Door that leads to a maze of short halls ... and small rooms ... with many secret doors!"

Hey Gang

My Post has been Edited and hopefully it is fully understood that at the end of the corridor is a door that has a mist behind it that teleports people without their clothing or equipment.

The Broken Door (C) is the way Galen went and it leads to a maze of short halls and small rooms with many secret doors!

Subject: Lucky Strike

As you board the plane you realize there is not a lot of room to sit as the cargo bay is rigged with fuel tanks and a snakepit of hoses running from them. A guy in a flight suit gives you a hand with coming on board and the supply container says, "Sorry about the tight fit there mates. We got to spend 12 hours in the air for this mission, give or take so we needed to take on extra fuel." He sniffs the gasoline scented air, "I would recommend no smoking on this flight. Sorry chums but I'd rather not risk the possibility if you caught my meaning. Hope no one is shooting at us along the way because we might just blow up like a roman candle on November 5th. Cheerio then."

Rex 'Rat' Miller smirked as he pulled out a Lucky Strike from his pocket and stuck it in his mouth, looking at each member of Team Ye' Olde with his familiar mischievous grin, knowing how unsettling it was for the others, trying to guess if Rat would light one up and in turn light them all up?

He seemed to have an endless supply of cigarettes, American was his preference, with Chesterfields his main smoke for leisure times.

Rat had a habit of sucking on a Lucky Strike, especially when flying to a new mission drop site.

Since this was a desert destination, the Corporal seemed to have an endless supply of Camel cigarettes packed for this particular mission, along with plenty of the Dunhill Brit brand that he smoked from time to time as a courtesy to his British Allies.

Rat had managed to find plenty of wooden tent stakes and a generous extra supply of salt pills to carry with him, before boarding the plane. Not to mention the Torch (Flashlight) as the Brits called it, along with as much extra ammo that he could manage with the rest of his personal gear that was secreted inside the supply crate.

He stared at his photograph of Betty Grable in a swim suit, when he was not reading the Psalm 91 Scripture torn from a Bible, that had been given to him by his consort, the Lady Pamela, who had made him promise to carry the torn page with him, also making him promise to read it as often as possible for his safety, as well as for her own peace of mind.

Besides, it helped him to sleep in relative peace during the uneventful flight, since Rat refrained from speaking to the others, choosing rather to prepare himself mentally and spiritually for the mission.

[Time Jump]

There is no one around for as far as the eye can see but there is a wisp of smoke coming from the east - the direction of the site.

Corban is the first on to find the tracks in the sand about a quarter mile from your landing site. A truck, and one that passed by recently - probably an hour or two, Rat puts forth based on the track and how little they have erodes in the sand and light wind.

Nothing to do but follow the tracks and see if they were going your way.

Rat pulled out a Camel, lit it, enjoying a few deep drags, before examining the tracks that Corban had found, after gathering their gear and disposing of their chutes.

"Looks like a truck passed this way, about an hour or two ago, judging from the depth of the sand, that seems to be undisturbed by the light wind blowing across this God forsaken waste land. Cap, you got any marching orders?"

Rat had refrained from commenting about the wisp of smoke he had seen on the horizon upon landing in the sand, choosing rather to gather his gear and silently make his way towards their target site.

He paused long enough to light up another Camel, his back towards the horizon, awaiting further orders from Captain Luke Edintore.

Subject: Tales of the Tomb

Finarsil sheathed Dark Reaver and called forth her Ye' Cind Flute, placing it to her lips, while thoughtfully humming an olden High Elf tune to herself, as she moved to the head of the group, staring intently down the corridor that stretched out before the Party.

After a few moments of deep contemplation, drawing upon the tales stored within her memories of songs and stories of the tomb, she slowly addressed the group:

"According to the tales ... this corridor ... was filled ... with complex traps!

"There was no mention of frozen skeletons ... in the songs ... and stories ... of this tomb , but the pit traps ... were filled ... with gelatinous cubes ... and spikes ... that would slowly dissolve you ... into nothingness ... so watch your step ... if you plan to stay with us ... to help rescue Galen ... and the Triplets!

"The tales tell that the corridor ends ... with a green demon's face ... that had a sphere of annihilation ... in its mouth. It took the arm off the thief ... who checked for traps ... according to the Songs of Sadness!

"At the end of the corridor ... with a green demon's face ... there was a doorway filled with mist ... that teleported party members into another section of the tomb ... but without any of their equipment ... or clothing!

"This corridor we see ... with the broken door ... leads to a maze of short halls ... and small rooms ... with many secret doors!

"Knowing how Galen would act ... and think ... from our past adventures ... this is the route he and his party would take ... that we must follow!

"Your Call ... Arien!"

Subject: Knock Knock

12th Sempore (Fallday), 453 E.R.
The Nicked Shill Inn, village of Crandel

Galardil made his way to his room and selected the straw pallet closest to the far wall, allowing the Half Syl Cleric of Kith-jora the opportunity for the next hour to face the wall, bowing upon his bedroll in prayers to his deity, preparing himself for whatever the morrow may bring.

Satisfied that he had spent enough time to reenergize his spells, plus recuperate from the battle and weary travel of the day, the Cleric of Kith-jora undressed and passed out in a deep slumber inside his bedroll upon the straw pallet.

An hour or two after midnight, En'Aranthea is awoken by a banging noise from downstairs. Less than a minute later, Blair - in the other room - is awoken by the same. Then, there is a scream.

The others quickly awake. There are fearful voices downstairs, and the banging continues - as if someone is trying to force their way into the inn.

Now who could that be knock knock knocking at our door at this hour of the night?

Galardil stirred in his deep sleep, a bit oblivious as to where he actually was!

Soon the fearful voices, combined with the persistent sounds of a door being battered mercilessly, drew the Half Syl from his deep slumber, back to his present location at The Nicked Shill in the village of Crandel as he sat upright from his deep sleep!

Galardil did not panic, as he reached for his clothes and began dressing with methodical determination!

Once he had secured his Leather Armor underneath his Elven War Tunic, the Cleric of Kith-jora secured his weapons and made his way out of his room, breathing a Prayer of Clarity to clear his senses from his all too brief deep sleep, as he made his way towards the fearful voices and clamoring din of the incessant battering upon the inn door!

(((Galardil has his Khord War Club at the ready, but chooses to survey the scene below the stairs, before blindly running headlong into this unknown situation; especially noting how his comrades have chosen to respond to this unexpected situation!)))

Subject: Flaming Rats

Although the pungent odor of the charred Were Rats was by far not the worst smell to have ever assailed the nostrils of Finarsil the Flaming Raven, the High Elf Bard was grateful for the fire unleashed by her comrades that eliminated the numbers advantage of their evil foes!

Glancing once again at her Dark Reaver blade, ready to sound an alarm should her blade begin emanating a tell-tale Blue Glow as a warning of nearby Undead foes, she raised her bow to let loose another volley of arrows against any Were Rats that escaped death from the flames!

((OOC: The High Elf Bard continues firing Arrows (she gets one extra attack per round with the bow!) until any Were Rats are in Melee Range; whereupon, she will use Dark Reaver to eliminate her foes!))

It is an Amorous play off Betty Grable.

Yes the Lieutenant is badly scarred, but it is Rat's feeble attempt at suggesting there is a beauty about her as a woman, no matter her disfigurements!

From Wikipedia
Throughout her career, Grable was celebrated for having the most beautiful legs in Hollywood and studio publicity often photographed her featuring them. Her iconic bathing suit poster made her the number one pin-up girl of World War II, surpassing Rita Hayworth. It was later included in the Life magazine project "100 Photographs that Changed the World".
