Topic: An Evil in Orlane
Subject: Moments of Reflection

Gunther bowed graciously and thanked Mayor Ormond for his kindness and hospitality, vowing to do everything in his power to assist the people of Orlane by helping to locate and eliminate the obvious Evil that was plaguing the countryside.

Once outside the young Paladin secured his Medium Shield in his left arm and began following his companions as they made their way to The Flowing Mug Inn. Gunther chose to walk on the left side of the wagon at a distance of about roughly 15 feet away so he could silently commune with his God and contemplate the day’s events.

He was pleased at the outcome of his flamboyant conduct when Mayor Ormond had first greeted the young Paladin and his companions. It was a trick that his maternal grandfather had taught him to employ when wanting to quickly figure out what was behind the façade presented by people in authority in a strange town.

Especially with the laying down of his Medium Shield and then suddenly brandishing his Broad Sword and quickly presenting it with a reverent bow and deftly placing it on top of his Medium Shield. That action had revealed that Mayor Ormond was a warrior at heart and not just some weak and soft politician. Gunther respected that response and prayed to his God for the ability to help Mayor Ormond bring true peace to the people of Orlane.

This action had also provided the opportunity for Oriel Blackmoon to step forward in a leadership capacity which the other companions would find to be more comfortable in dealing with than the unexpected approach of the young Paladin; which suited Gunther just fine as it would enable the young Paladin the opportunity to withdraw from the leadership role for a season, whereby Gunther would be able to watch and pray and blend in with the party as they made their way to The Foaming Mug Inn.

Gunther utilized this time of reflection to study his companions and watch how they interacted with one another. He kept his Medium Shield raised at a comfortable defensive level and he held the hilt of his Broad Sword with his right hand [although the weapon was not drawn, Gunther liked to grip the handle while he thought and prayed to his God] while he watched the progress of their march, noting every building and landmark as they steadily made their way to their destination.

Gunther will immediately close ranks at any hint of confrontation or danger on the way to The Foaming Mug Inn. He will get as close to the wagon as possible to allow his 10 foot wall of protection ability to cover as many of the party as possible, while allowing enough room for himself and his companions to utilize the space they need to employ their own special talents in dealing with whatever danger or confrontation presents itself either on the way to The Foaming Mug Inn or while they are there searching for clues amid the ruins of the battle that Mayor Ormond had previously spoken to them about.

Topic: The Return of the Prodigal Son
Subject: A Matter of Time

Panon Panaw was lost in thought, allowing his heart and mind to traverse the various time streams of contemplative prayer avenues that were available to the diligent servants of Khoronus.

The Cleric half elf had felt no sudden compulsion to visit the Temple of Khoronus at this very hour, no urgency of destiny to make haste to the Temple where he could ascertain what pursuit to follow. No more than eating an apple or swallowing cool water from a mountain spring for the mere pleasure of the experience [rather than to appease a perceived hunger or to quench a nagging thirst] would have driven a man to eat or drink out of necessity to preserve his own life. Nothing of that sort had pressured Panon Panaw to visit the Temple.

No, this impromptu visit had been merely for some precious moments of enjoyment to bask in the atmosphere within the Temple, to reflect upon the good fortune that had befallen upon Panon Panaw in the past recent weeks as a faithful servant of Khoronus.

Time seemed to stand still in the Temple and the half elf Cleric always looked forward to bathing in the presence of an atmosphere that only Khoronus could impart to his faithful, much like a hot bath filled with exotic fragrances blended in a deep tub with soap and crystal clear water, after a long and dusty journey would invariably seem to refresh the natural needs of a weary traveler.

This is what Panon Panaw had looked forward to this day. A time of spiritual refreshing in the Temple of Khoronus [with no demands upon his talents as a Cleric from the outside world] is exactly what seemed to be in order for such a day as this.

Now the half elf Cleric was confronted with a need for his talents, by those having no means to raise themselves from the social entrapments interwoven throughout the very fabric of Axetown. Troublesome times indeed.

Panon Panaw searched for a sign that Khoronus would weave his time with his in service to those less fortunate than himself. Less fortunate by poor choices or less fortunate by victimizing circumstances, who was Panon Panaw to judge?

He could feel the weight of despair filtering through the corridors of time and into his consciousness, a vision of beauty formulating in his mind’s eye from the garbage of the refuse of humanity who were silently crying out in fear to be spared this further torment.

Then he noticed her. A Paladin of Coellon, escorted by a Cleric, greeting the two Clerics who had left Panon Panaw to his prayers and meditation. Time was swiftly flowing as streams forming a mighty river. No need for any sign today.

Panon Panaw waits patiently and quietly for the two Clerics to bid him to come meet the Paladin of Coellon. He treasures these remaining refreshing moments of reflection in the Temple of Khoronus, knowing full well it may be a long time before he has the pleasure of enjoying such moments of solitude; what with the lost souls of Axetown silently whispering for help down the corridors of time!

..... since you have created your own adventure ... will you still be using your Hawk Lady character for a new adventure any time soon?

Auguries of Destruction: The Linsemptus - Recruitment was posted the other day and I am curious if you are considering using your Hawk Lady to join this one ... or are you at your limit Flirty?

Am not sure now whether or not a Druid character is what I would create to join your Hawk Lady in any upcoming adventure and especially this new one that posted for recruits ... which is a Level 10 character adventure by the way ... I am pondering joining, but I will have to decide after I get things going with your Prodigal adventure later today!

Just let me know if you are joining Auguries of Destruction while DMing your first game!

The Auguries of Destruction DM is a first time DM also!

The trail is getting cold at The Flowing Mug Inn and Ancient One can post his character informing us about what he discovered while he was on his solo journey!

Gunther was equipped with plenty of rations and knows it is vital to look for clues at that inn where the battle took place ... plus it is high time to start earning our bag of Gold we were given without letting the trail get another day colder!
