Subject: A Song

BrewStirr Hammer continued washing the dishes while quietly observing the other three laborers that had been thrown together with him by the captain ... or possibly by some bored deities that had nothing better to do with their celestial time ... but ... whatever the case may be ... BrewStirr Hammer had been around the ship's other occupants long enough to realize that these three were potentially the best of the group of treasure seekers aboard ship to company with him to the land of the Elves.

He continued washing the dishes while intently studying his companions ... finally reaching a decision ... that he could do much worse being teamed with any of the others aboard the ship.

So he breaks forth into a short, spontaneous song:

"Scrub ... scrub ... scrub ...
In a dirty tub ...
Splish ... splash ... splish ...
Rinse that soapy dish ...
Rub ... rub ... rub ...
Clean off all that grub ...
Wipe ... wipe ... wipe ...
Please try not to gripe ...

Subject: Guarding the Left Flank

Manuhol the Monk used his Skills to ascertain the situation before making a decision as he remained hidden [Hide +6] and listened from afar [Listen +6] to digest the information before making a commitment one way or another.

There were times when a Mercenary did not take action until a price had been agreed upon for his services ... then there are times like these ... when proper payment will be freely given ... after the frightened populace has been delivered from their fears!

Manuhol had heard enough and made his way silently[Move Silently +5] along the left flank to provide protection for the other pursuers ... plus provide a vantage point to attack the bright blue vermin kobald ... should they make a move against the other pursuers from their hideous hive.

"Seifu ... this is for you!"

Manuhol the Monk continues to make his way along the left flank of the path where the other pursuers are following the kobald vermin. His purpose is to act as an unseen protector on the pursuers' left flank in case they are surprised by a trap or a sneak attack from the kobald minions. Otherwise, he is prepared to take an offensive action if he discovers a war party or uncovers a hidden stronghold of kobald vermin! He will reveal himself to the other pursuers when it becomes the most advantageous in removing the kobald presence from SodGrove!

This leaves it open for Septimus to role play and hopefully Evani will be able to communicate before TRSG updates!

I will just wait until we reach port, but I thought about asking the captain about the port where we are going, but decided to just leave things as they are for now!

"So ... my friend ... Septimus ... my family ... was ripped ... from my life ... my heart ... but never from my mind ...

"They were so innocent ... so trusting ... so forgiving ... so ... helpless ... defenseless ...

"Left me ... empty inside ... but yearning for family ... but could not bring myself ... to loving ... and losing ... and jeapardizing another family ... defenseless ... innocent ...

"There were opportunities ... but I could not bring myself ... to putting someone I love ... in danger again ... defenseless ... innocent ... would not do it ...

"But I found a family ... who can defend themselves ... not so innocent ... not defenseless ... who can strike back ... or strike first ... if need be ...

"The truth is ... friend Septimus ... I have not found the right woman ... mayhap one day ... but for now ... this is my family ... thirsting for blood ... not defenseless ... not innocent ...

"But you ... friend Septimus ... are a tortured soul ... much like me ... but you have a chance ... to embrace life once again ... to remind you ... of the things most worth fighting for ...

"Go to her ... friend Septimus ... she is a rare lady ... willing to face the dangers ... but not alone ... neither you ... nor her ... should face the future trouble ... alone ...

"Enjoy your time together ... I have my family ... we will keep watch ... embrace life ... friend Septimus ... go to her ... and bare your soul ... for she will fight ... to the death ... but she needs something in life ... worth fighting for ..."

Subject: Congratulations to Your Son

I love baseball and always enjoy hearing true life baseball stories, whether professional, semi-pro, college, high school or even T-ball stories as well as the leagues in between!

Sounds like you are the type of daddy who is instilling and reinforcing a great work ethic in your son!

Hopefully he is also learning some important character influences from you so that when he enters high school that he does not blow away all his hard earned progress by falling into the alcohol and drug traps that some athletes have done in the high school party scene and then burned their college potential by doing those things!

When I was a Sports Editor in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, there were a lot of athletes who were able to get a scholarship to some of the smaller colleges because of their hard work as baseball, football and basketball players [including young ladies who received softball, basketball and even track scholarships to help pay expenses for them to earn a degree in their chosen career after sports!]

Congratulations Again and Hopefully for Continued Success Season After Season!

Topic: The Legacy of the Shade Lord
Subject: Manuhol the Monk in SodGrove

The sound of men shouting and the clashing of weapons from the east end of town drew upon the senses of Manuhol the Monk as if he were a fragment of metal being lured by a powerful magnet.

He was aware that the screams had gone silent and the lesser sounds carried on the wind mingled with the smell of burning wood let him know that whatever alarm had been sounded must have been equally and effectively answered.

Manuhol stood 5'11" and weighed 180lbs when dry, but the steady drizzle had added some slight weight to the backpack encasing his bedding and other possessions that he was carrying.

"Seifu ... guide me ... silently ... swiftly ... alertly ..."

Were anyone to notice, Manuhol was 25-years-young, but had the appearance and manner of being much older. He was human, but green scales were readily visible on his chest, stomach and back. He was proud of the fact that he bore the scale markings of the Green Dragon Seifu the Enlightened, who had been killed when Manuhol was 13-years-younger. Having no parents and being raised in a dojo since before he could remember, Manuhol was a natural for becoming a Mercenary ... for even his very name means "To hire, to engage one's service for fee."

He fled the desecrated dojo in the company of a few elder Monks who continued training Manuhol in the deep enchanted forest of Norcross ... ever learning what he would need to know to follow his destined path as prophesied by the elder Monks.

Manuhol had undergone a ceremony of consecration to avenge Seifu the Enlightened ... whereby the light brown hairs of his beard and his head were plucked from him by the root ... in symbolic agony of how the dojos of Seifu had been plucked away by the Shade Lord.

Thus Manuhol was without beard, hair or eyebrows ... and when he would close his eyes ... the green scales on his eyelids made him appear a bit more draconic than others. His Emerald Green Eyes flashed with a burning fire deep within to fulfill his destiny and avenge the death of the green dragon Seifu.

His skin was a golden tan from his endless hours in the elements over the years preceding ... and following ... the demise of the Seifu dojos. His ears were nearly flattened against the sides of his head and they had been filed during another ritual to take on the semblance of pointy Elven Dragon Ears ... but the rigors of training and battle had worn the points roughly ... although the Elven kind took kindly to his appearance.

Manuhol was proud of his green scales and over time had chosen not to hide his dragon heritage markings. They served to mark him for friendship ... or adversity ... but as was his custom on this day ... even in the rain ... Manuhol was stripped to the waist ... unmindful of the elements ... even welcoming the caress of the cool water upon his golden hued tanned skin [like the soft color of a waffle cone enhanced by scoops of French Vanilla ice cream in another world] ... as though he were one with the habitat of the dragons.

His head and ruggedly handsome square jawed face [replete with broken nose evidence from early training times] bore the markings of forgotten battles that had made him the Mercenary Monk that he had become unto this very day ... and as Manuhol the Monk gripped his QuarterStaff in his right hand ... while checking that his Dagger +1 was secured in his belt on the left side [with his left hand] ... Manuhol prayed once more ...

"Give me Wisdom ... oh Seifu ... to recognize who to offer my fighting talents to this day ... and who to wreak vengeance upon ... for the desecration ... and dispersing ... of your dojos!"

As Manuhol moved silently and listened for any further sounds of combat, he spoke thus to the Lord of the Gods: Io, "Oh Swallower of Shades ... the Ninefold Dragon ... grant me your strength and favor as a green dragon ... to avenge your child Seifu ... oh creator of dragonkind ... enlighten me ... who to attack ... who to defend ... who to lend my services to ... in service to you ... and Seifu ..."

As he continues praying, Manuhol the Monk uses whatever cover is available to get a closeup view of the conflict, so that he can quickly study and decide which side or cause to lend his services to [if need be] should he determine what course of action to take before the conflict of combat is resolved by others.

Subject: Manuhol the Monk is ...

..... now posted at Shade Lord, but with several reservations on my part for doing so!

Since I do not have any of the books available, I did a google search and ended up at Wikepedia(sp?) and the only info on the particular dragon deity I opened with was that he was basically a watcher of dragons and had statues of them and watched them die, but did not do anything one way or another other than that [my loose translation!]

So I went ahead and posted because the adventure is moving onward and my character needs to get involved with the party, but I still have a few things to work out about his character descriptions before I can get more involved in posting the storyline!

So I need someone to Please Post a listing of dragon deitys along with a brief description of each one so I can make some decisions about fleshing out my character!

Thanks!
