We have been doing well with the pacing of this adventure in the light of the Real Life issues that have sprung up from time to time for all of us!

Am looking forward to what the 2 of you have plotted together!

Then we will see what happens in the next Update!

..... You are Most Fortunate that I am not the type of GM/DM or Castle Keeper who tries to get the characters killed off (especially level 1 characters), but you still have to make sure you do not do something that will make a super risk for dying!

In this game, the Knight played by Flirty has taken the charge of protecting the Healer!

So you want to make sure you save a Healing Spell or two (I have to get back with you on your spells!)

You have your Mace ready and Willow the Druid played by Brianna will probably do something to help protect you also as your character develops!

She has spells also, so I have to check on her repertoire also as well as the spells for your character!

[Give me a couple days!]

Hopefully both Riaucard and clockwork demise show back up to post, because I may just leave them behind the wall, at least until I decide how I am going to NPC any PC Characters (especially when active players are chomping at the bit to proceed with the adventure!)

..... I read it that way, but figured I should post the info so others have the info, since Gamard has announced that he is a Knight of Holy Anger (which is why he has initially taken charge, but I trust that as the adventure progresses other players will step up to the plate also!)

I do not expect to be the first to post each time!

..... Gamard the Grim is a Cleric of Solanis.

Inko-mengu is the Khord deity for Solanis (Sky-light)

He belongs to a Fellowship of Solanis that few dwarves belong to which are Knights of Holy Anger.

Hope that helps clarify his class and character ???

Great Opening Post by the way T_O

From Audalis Religion Info: Knights of Aina'rutha: These knights are powerful clerics who seek to end the tyranny and evil of the dark and undead. The Aina'rutha, or Holy Anger, was founded by two clerics: Gilmandrion, priest of Solanis, El'endar, and Amiolia, priestess of Lysora, Coria. The two met in Quevin to answer the aid of the council under attack by dark forces. Together, they worked to banish the darkness and heal the injured. After the terror passed, the two spoke with others and soon a following was formed. Members typically are elven and human, though some dwarves have come to the call.

I trust that is enough for Tuned_Out and Jenna to play off from, especially on Monday when they take a look at what has been Posted on Sunday!

Am figuring that in the morning we can introduce ourselves, unless Kriea goes ahead and offers another post and T_O and Jenna do the same?

Topic: Trail of the Rokash
Subject: Regarding Rokash

Seeing a couple of the strangers step forth to volunteer their aid in searching for the child, the bartender smiled slightly and nodded and raised a hand to forestall the Khord's demands.

"I will tell you," he said and looked about the room, "for I know probably as much of the legend as any here as most people have a tendency to talk to barkeeps while they drink."

"The Rokash is a legend, a beast of demon origins they say, it is man shaped yet larger with long arms ending if huge sharp talons. It sounds like most beast stories, yet they also have a pair of furry tentacle like appendages protruding from beneath it’s arm pits."

He shakes his head as he pauses a moment then continues, "Truly a hell spawned creature, they have been seen before in this area but not in almost a lifetime. In my father's time they were rumored to be under the control of a cult of some kind that would make off with people of this area to be used in foul rights at their temples. I have never seen one before, the legend says that few people have and lived to tell of it. Mostly were witness to abductions such as those of..." he glanced at the man who sat distraught in one of his chairs being consoled by some of his acquaintances, "... loved ones like poor Tal."

Gamard the Grim carefully weighed the words of the Bar Tender, thoughtfully stroking his Emerald Braid as he looked around the room, before once again walking over to the distraught Tal.

He laid his hand upon the head of Tal, then spoke a few reassuring words: "I am a Knight of Holy Anger! Those of our Order seek out the Minions of the Dark and UnDead and Destroy Them! I Promise to Find Your Daughter!"

After attending to the wounds of Tal as best he could, the Cleric of Inko-mengo stepped away to address a challenge to the remaining strangers who had not yet offered to help rescue young Tara.

"Be There Any Other Stout Hearts Among Us ... Or Will Ye' Leave It To This Young Lady To Be The Only Brave Heart To Join Me ... At The First Light Of Dawn?"

[Gamard waits a few minutes for any of the other Strangers to come forward to Pledge their Hearts and Weapons to follow the trail of the Rokash and help rescue the young child Tara]

Finally, the Knight of Holy Anger makes another bold declaration to the townsfolk: "We Be Needing Proper Transportation for Hunting the Rokash and Its Captive! We Also Be Needing Bandages and Healing Herbs! Have What Provisions You May Have to Offer Waiting for Us Here When We Awake Before Dawn!"

"Upon Our Successful Return! Be Prepared To Reward Us!"

Gamard looked each patron in the eye with his uncovered purple eye, before returning to his bar stool to have another round of Bitter Root Beer and another plate full of Bar Stool Blues

The ranger sat quietly; listened and watched as other strangers addressed the Dwarve and offer their assistants.

Roger would not let this go to the hands of outsiders alone.

When the Dwarve was alone, Roger approached him. In a low whisper he said," You will need a tracker, I will find you at the edge of town. If we must ride, then bring me a good horse." With that Roger left the Inn.

Gamard the Grim snorted his reply with an affirmative nod, thoughtfully chewing the remainder of his Bar Stool Blues, while slowly draining the contents of his Tankard.

He conferred with the Bar Tender to make sure the details of his request were fully understood, before going upstairs to his rented room to commune with his deity Inko-mengo, as he prepared his various belongings for the new quest.

Gamard the Grim slept quite soundly, before awakening 2 hours before dawn to spend time praying to his deity Inko-mengo. His prayers were for guidance, as well as the proper spells that may be needed during the course of the journey that day.

Satisfied that Inko-mengo was pleased with his prayers, the Knight of Holy Anger gathered up his belongings and went downstairs to meet with his new allies, curious to know what provisions the townsfolk had been willing to contribute for their journey ???

..... I figured that most everyone had to sheathe their weapons to help move the crates!

You 4 have time to draw weapons (Willow has hers already drawn) before engaging the enemy!

Willow can summon Smoke, but unless there are posts by Riaucard and clockwork demise, then the 4 of you are on your own right now!

Topic: Once in a Lifetime [Questions and Answers]
Subject: Explanations for New Post

Obviously the deadline passed and both Riaucard and clockwork demise have failed to contact me or post anything either in the QnA or the 'Once in a Lifetime' game thread to help provide info for the adventure.

So they are stuck on the other side of the wall, because the hole is too small for either of them to squeeze through to join in the chase!

Brianna did not mention what Smoke was doing, so her Wolf Companion is also waiting on the other side of the wall for Willow to call for help!

Flirty did not mention drawing a weapon, so Amariel is giving chase without any drawn weapons!

It is necessary to include such things when posting for me to include in Updates, but the 4 of you seem to be a bit occupied with more pressing matters now!

Revlan gave a quick glimpse back over his shoulder at his companions.

"Well come on," He snorted "we can't lose them now!"

Without much further thought the Cidal was through the opening and darting off in the direction of the men he'd seen, not even taking the time to draw forth a weapon.

Peryl had been trying to recall a light spell that would be helpful, but only fragments of the spell could be recalled, as she rehearsed the spell in her mind before Revlan disappeared from view.

Peryl looked at her companions with a blank stare, and then back to the tunnel entrance again... "c'mon Willow!" and ducked behind the crates. "Revlan... wait up!" she screaled as she funbled for her mace. The cidal was quickly darting down the tunnel, Peryl could hear the sound of her companions behind her, but could not tell if they were close on her heels.

As she pursued the fleet footed Cidal, trying to keep up, but falling further behind, her deity Lysora rewarded her as the small rose shaped pendant began to glow, a soft radiant light invading the dim light, but Peryl was not sure if the light was helping or hindering her natural sight abilities, as she ran the thirty foot length straight towards the bend in the tunnel.

Amariel had decided after the altercation upstairs, that her knightly duty would be to protect the healer from danger. So as soon as Peryl hastily followed after Revlan, the Knight did not hesitate to follow her through the small opening behind the crate.

Without a word, with no weapon drawn, the Knight calmly followed after Peryl, noting that Willow was the next adventurer to squeeze through the hole in the wall.

Willow was a bit more cool headed, drawing her sword before giving chase. There was something elusive to her senses, as the smell of earth and stone invaded her sensitive nostrils. She was not sure what it was, but it gnawed at her subconscious.

The Druid was determined to keep pace with her companions, not paying much attention to the shadowed walls on either side of the cavernous tunnel. She was unaware of any immediate danger from the shadows, so she hastened towards the bend in the tunnel.

Vord and Qempar were left behind, unable to squeeze through the small opening in the wall to gain entrance to the cavernous tunnel beyond.

Smoke stood guard at the entrance, awaiting the call of Willow, should she need the assistance of her wolf companion.

Meanwhile, the impulsive Revlan (followed by Peryl, Amariel and Willow) had lost sight of his quarry after making the sharp turn to the left at the far end of the tunnel they had first entered.

The tunnel to the left was approximately the same dimensions, but the length was about 40 feet and made a sharp turn to the right. Fortunately, there was enough light in the tunnel for all 4 adventurers to continue chasing the 4 small humans they had been observing earlier that evening in The Scarlet Tankard, without encountering any hidden traps along the now rocky tunnel floor.

Revlan and the other 3 adventurers ran another 50 feet, before the tunnel made another sharp turn to the left. They traversed another 30 feet along a rocky floored tunnel of similar dimensions as the other previous tunnel corridors, before ending in a large cavernous room.

This room measured about 100 feet in width and a matching 100 feet in length. The ceiling sparkled with a mysterious blue hued glow, measuring about 25 feet in height. The surface of the floor was made of inlaid stones that seamlessly fit together throughout the entire length and breadth of the room.

At the far end of the room a closed double door was flush with the smooth surface of the walls. The height of the double door was approximately 15 feet high and 10 feet across.

About 20 feet forward and to either side of the double door, stood 2 statues standing upon a solid rock base about 5 feet high, 5 feet long and probably 5 feet in length.

Each of the statues rose to a height of 10 feet above the 5 foot high bases. Both the statues and the bases were somehow carved from solid marble.

As the adventurers cautiously approached the double door, they saw four large sacks, but no evidence of the whereabouts of the 4 small humans they had been pursuing.

To the far left wall there did not seem to be any openings or doors, but to the far right (about 75 feet from the far wall) there was a small opening that obviously led to somewhere outside, judging from the draft the 4 adventurers could feel blowing in from the outside, in addition to a fresher atmosphere of air that had replaced the mustier smell of earth and stone inside the tunnels.

As for the 10 foot tall statues, the one on the left was an attractive nude sculpture of a beautiful human maiden, while the one on the right was an even more breathtakingly beautiful nude sculpture of a Sylvari maiden.

When the other 3 adventurers finally caught up with Revlan, the Cidal was standing speechless and staring inquisitively at the nude statues, but did not seem to be under any type of enthrall spell. He was about 40 feet from the statues when his companions arrived at his side.

Before the adventurers could decide to examine the small opening to the far right (that they had passed by as they rushed in to catch up with Revlan) or go inspect the large sacks in front of the double door; their quarry stepped out from behind each statue, each brandishing a longsword.

But instead of 4 small humans standing on each side of the 2 nude statues, the adventurers were astonished to see 4 Were Rats, defying them to come any closer!

Then, before the 4 adventurers could formulate a plan of attack, the sound of Rats entering the room from the small opening (about 15 feet behind them and about 40 feet to the right of the adventurers) greeted their ears, having been summoned telepathically by the 4 Were Rats!

"If Gamard the Grim will allow me to join him of course,"

Gamard looked in the direction of the young woman with the soft voice, who had just promised Tal that she would assist in locating his abducted daughter, if the Khord had no objections to her company.

There would be time enough for introductions later, so Gamard merely nodded his assent to the young woman, after quickly determining that she would probably be useful, rather than a hindrance, in tracking Tara and this 'Rokash' as the townsfolk had whispered in hushed tones mere moments ago.

Then the Knight of Holy Anger looked intently upon the gathered crowd and asked once again, more forcefully this time: "Tell Me ... About These ... Rokash ... If You Truly Seek My Help!"

The Broken Rock Inn
Vala'Lia, Drannon
Evening

It had been a bittersweet reunion for Gamard the Grim when he had been summoned to Kharolis by the Khord Elders to be awarded the Emerald Braid for rescuing a kidnapped Khord child.

The Khord Elders had not realized that Gamard the Grim, or Brother Gamard as his fellow Knights of Holy Anger addressed the Khord, was in reality the same Gamard that had been banished by those same Khord Elders 39 years ago (at the young age of 20 years) for challenging their ruling against his disgraced parents.

All that the Khord Elders knew about him now, was that a fellow Khord, who had the rare distinction among Khords of being a member of the Knights of Holy Anger, had single handedly rescued a kidnapped Khord child from a band of Shroom Raiders rumored to have been sacrificing innocent children of various backgrounds to some dark god.

So the Khord Elders had sent messengers to a Temple of Solanis on the border of Sendria and Ertain, requesting that the Khord of the Fellowship of Solanis known as the Knights of Holy Anger, be summoned with their blessing, to Khoralis to receive the highest distinction among Khords for his brave deed.

Brother Gamard had humbly, but grimly, accompanied the messengers back to Khoralis, where he was lauded as a hero. The Khord Elders awarded him the Honor of The Emerald Braid, with much pomp and ceremony, attaching a sparkling Emerald of great value to a braid in his silver beard, as promised.

They had recognized the banished Khord midway through the ceremony, but made no mention of his banishment, nor did they restore him or his family name for his bravery in rescuing the Khord child.

His parents were dead, having died 10 years previously in a battle in one of the underground Shroom Fields at the hands of invading Goblins, so there was no point in Gamard's mind for insisting upon the restoration of his family name and position. Besides, he was now a hired mercenary in service to his god Inko-mengo (Sky-light) and he had a new path to walk upon the continent of Antaron.

The Knights of Aina'rutha or Knights of Holy Anger were known as powerful clerics who seek to end the tyranny and evil of the dark and undead. Gamard the Grim was known to hire his services as a mercenary or bounty hunter, but always answered the call without any charge as a Knight of Holy Anger, when dark evil or undead stalked the innocents of the land.

As soon as it was politely possible, Gamard the Grim excused himself from the festivities, hiring on to guard a Shroom wagon transporting a shipment of rare Shrooms along the far eastern border of Sendria, along the border of Ertain and on into Drannon, where Gamard the Grim parted company in Vala'Lia and secured a room at The Broken Rock Inn.

During the past 10 days, Gamard the Grim had kept to himself, choosing to spend a few days in consecration to his deity Inko-mengo, seeking direction to fulfill his call as a Knight of Holy Anger. Earlier that evening, Gamard had decided to journey into Sendria to root out any dark evil or undead that may prove to be a future threat to any unsuspecting Khord Shroom transporters.

About 3 hours earlier, Gamard had taken his now customary seat at the far end of the bar, ordering a hearty plate full of venison and vegetables, which he enjoyed in relative silence. He was politely, but nervously, interrupted every so often by the Bar Tender, who refilled his Tankard with Bitter Root Beer, or re-piled his plate with generous helpings of the venison and vegetables.

For the past 30 minutes, the Khord Cleric had been feasting upon several plate fulls of Blue Shrooms, which he affectionately described as Bar Stool Blues when ordering. They were just the right dessert to munch on as the Khord thoughtfully drained the contents of his Tankard of Bitter Root Beer.

Suddenly the door to The Broken Rock Inn burst open with a gust of wind, followed by a scream from the Bar Maid. Gamard the Grim slowly turned to see what the commotion was all about, before setting his Tankard aside and descending from his bar stool for a closer look.

Gamard listened intently to the tale told by the man named Tal and the abduction of his 7 year old daughter named Tara. The Knight of Holy Anger felt a tug at his battle tested heart, as the mysterious word 'Rokash' was repeated in terrified whispers by the local townsfolk.

"Is there anything you folks can do?" The Bar Tender was expectantly addressing the strangers in his establishment. The local townsfolk were simple people. There were no warriors or adventurers among them.

Gamard made his way towards the man named Tal. Leaning his 4 foot, 5 inch, 143 pound frame (clad in Chain Mail) closer so Tal could look into the purple hued right eye of the silver haired, silver bearded Khord with the yellow sun emblazoned upon his protective black eye patch covering his battle scarred left eye.

Gamard the Grim thrust his Emerald Braid towards the frightened face of the victim laying on the floor before him.

"I Be Gamard the Grim! Brother Gamard of the Knights of Holy Anger! This Emerald Braid is My Khord Badge of Honor for Rescuing a Kidnapped Khord Child a Few Months Ago! I Will Find Your Daughter!"

Then turning away from Tal, the Khord Cleric softened his countenance, as best as he could, mimicking the terrified townsfolk, asking in his own hushed whisper, "So tell me ... Who ... or What ... is a Rokash ... my friends?"
