Dagger yelled ”Unleash the Fury of the Fire Stick!” … while simultaneously motioning with his left hand towards Tohmas to Hold Steady with His Bow!

Areldor raised his wand and once again let the fire ball fly. First one then two then three the huge birds dropped from the sky. As the fourth and final Orc Rider guided his mount within range, Areldor again raised the wand, but this time there was just a puff of cloudy smoke emanating from the tip of the 'Fire Wand', followed by a hollow sounding
PFFFffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.

Arm still out stretched, staring thru the disappering smoke he saw the Orc and great bird still approaching. The hollow sound seemed to go beyond his ears and reach into his stomach making him a little queasey. Then he lowered his arm and as the foe got closer he prayed again to his goddess “Minerva be merciful”, then the expession of the illusionist face changed as a small smile appeared and spoke with some confidence "Tohmas your turn."

The last of the great birds swooped into range. Hoping if he could knock the rider from the the back of the giant bird. Without the Orc to cammad it the Roc might just fly away.

Raising the White compound bow the Shaman drew the Slaying Arrow to his ear, the bow whispered, "Swift defeat to my enemies". Tohmas Called out so all would know the Shaman sword loath against the Orc rider, “Death to the Orc rider, it is mine.” In response as the arrow loosed the bow shouted, "Swift death to those who have wronged me."

Ok, got my little post up. Was just a last thought to help get Catie establish and what I was thinking about the Simons.

This should be open enough to move on now. MMV can post to talking to Jon and Tess, but it shouldn't prevent us leaving to start. I added an opening for Grace to talk to Jon and Tess.

It was getting late last night and wanted to just get that out.

Van, I'm still trying to get my head around dealing with Angela without driving any character actions. So when you think I push too far let me know and we can correct it. I haven't used any of the "command" phrases yet because I feel Jon still doesn't know how and when to us them. Do you want me to give you heads up when I think it's a time for him to use it so you can perpare or we can change it?

The crew gave their reports..more or less. Even with all the good connections there just wasn’t much to be learned. “I thank you all for trying but we don’t know much more than we did before. This here job is ricky, but it’s our job now, so we’ll see it through. ….Sounds like Catie might have kept my foot out of my mouth if we’d known you were good with the deal.. Angela did a good job of saving me from making things worse, but it would have been nice to not have to go down that way…. Catie, I want you ready if these folk try to add the deal. If they add more we should get more…and when this is done I’ll count on you to be sure we get paid right. If things go well enough and you decide to stay then you’ll earn a share.” Jon wasn’t sure if Angela realized she was earning a share, but he had left that to Grace to handle for her. JC and Stephanie were both getting a share too. Tess, Grace and him had agreed a long time ago that they got two shares each after they had got Destiny flying the first time, sort of the finder’s fee or owns share. Jon usually kept most of his back or made sure Grace had what she needed to keep Destiny in the sky.

"As for them Simon brothers, to me it looked more like they had been assigned the Badger instead of him just hiring them. I don’t think he has to remind the rest of his lackeys that he’s the boss and them two didn’t seem to worried when Badger had to remind them. That would go along with them not seeming to exist….There is more maneuvering to this operation than is up front, folks playing folks for power and position. JC, like I said before you need to keep an eye on them, …..Angela you are pretty good sensing when things are Ma Fuhn (trouble) so make yourself a note about them Simons and help JC watch them boys”……. Jon looked around the room to see if anyone had more to say.. no one spoke up, “Well I guess that’s about it..Let’s do this job.”

When most of the crew had headed off Grace stopped Jon and Tess, “Can I have a word with you?”

Tess won't change what he has to because it mostly deals with the brothers.

BTW Roger to bad I'm not staying in Toronto for the night we have gone to dinner. I googled you and you're not too far from where I'm going. But we are going over to Ingersoll to spend the night so we can go into GM CAMI Tuesday.

Maybe next time, maybe Cathy would be able to come too.

Ulthok turned back into the room after cast cone of cold down the hall from his wand. Before him appeared a tall armor clad, yellow skinned creature. It swung its glowing silver sword with the skill of trained Knight. Luckily Ulthok’s own armor and nimbleness prevented the attacker from inflicting much damage.

While dodging and weaving in defense as the creature struck the mage was able to hide his wand away and then draw his (+3) Sword of Lighting Quickness. The strange creature loomed over the Halfling and prepared to attack again. The mage relied on the magic of the sword to grant him the ability to return the attack with the haste he needs to strike twice and with the gantlets of giant strength to drive the attacks deeply and painfully into this over confident grinning foe.

Ok, so I get it right.

We need to NOT plant the bombs in the hills?

Asher does not need to fly with Tess to use the missle?

We are going to attack the ASRV, but we don't know it might the good guys?

We are not sending out picture to draw them away.

We may or may not be going to the cave to defend it.

We may or may not be staying to defend Roc.

Sure I got it, just tell me who to kill.

“Now that’s not fair….”, the little dragon watched as several of the yellow creature vanished from the target area of her spell. When they reappeared one stepped in to surprise attack her Ulthok. But her companion though struck was able to dodge and defend himself. She felt him planning his response and so glance to see if she might help the others.

The battle raged and the magical fey noted that Sirene’s targets, though hit they were turning to join forces against the Enchantress. “Three against one… that’s not fair either.” Then with a slight flip of her wrist Peri cast Confusion over the three hide wearing yellow faced creatures…and with any luck perhaps it would catch the three Illithids too.

Turning the galley serving window he beakoned out,"Igor... a plate of fresh figure sandwiches for our guest." From behind the wall came a mumbled response and the then the terrified shouts of the young dish washer. " No Igor... not those figures.. we need the lad to able to hold the dishes or they will never get clean.... make them from the cold cuts in the meat locker." Turning back to the guest, "sorry about that.. the poor fellow can be so literal at times."

From behind the bar in the Red Dragon Inn Chat Room and Lounge the fuzzy werebear bartender heard the Inn door open and the voice of long missing adventurer chime through the halls.

"May the Gods breath some life into this fine establishment. Amen"

To that the Ody chimmed out," In here friend... Come warm yourself and share in the comfort of the Inn." The smiling bear stepped out from behind the bar and waved the visitor into the Lounge. The vaguely familiar figure casualy strolled in. "Fear not for quiet of the Inn..tis only the Winter Dulls. The adventures have gather at home and harth with family and friends and the younglings are concerned with new studies, but soon they will be drifting back." Drawing a frosty mug of Good Old Froth-n-Slosh...."I'll check you and help you settle, soon the Inn will be filling and lounge will be the place of Legendary tale, stories, poems and the forming of new parties." Sliding the mug to the visitor the bartender asked, "Do you want some finger sandwiches?"

Good to see return players.

Tann has given you the basics and I see you now have a towel so you are set. Now relax and get comfortable again.

As the current acting Bartender here at the Inn here's a new frosty mug of "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh" our stale pale ale that's so light it has the foam on the bottom. As you travel know that your mug will have its place of honor and will be waiting for you when you return, so enjoy your time at the Inn.

(O.O.C., If Grim is standing close enough Dudley will tap him also so they both vanish.)

I don't want to seem like a wet blanket but the what killed Dillon and the guards sounds like a implant in their skull, not in the helmet. If it popped it was very likely destroyed as it discharged. It would take surgery to open the skull and see what it was. And each went off separately so each is tuned to its own trigger. So it sounds more like we will be bluffing.

If we had a way that may have recorded the triggering pulses frequency then with the three pulses we might find the range. A device that would send out a continual pulse across a tunable broadcast range could hit the correct triggers as it was dialed up and down.

I could have Asher bring this up.

Subject: Don't Know About The Fever, But.......

THE CEDAR TREE

I understand why the People
in the Northwest
say the canoe is sacred,
that the canoe has a spirit.

We know that a cedar tree
can tell us by its rings
when salmon runs were big,

when bears and eagles

and wolves feasted on salmon,
and left the carcasses
near the trees,

and the carcasses decayed, and
the nutrients went into the soil,
and into the roots of the trees.

And what else do we know, but perhaps
this tree grew where an Ancestor
had been buried,

that the Ancestor fed the tree, that
the Ancestor’s flesh became the tree’s
flesh, that the Ancestor’s blood
became the tree’s sap?

And what else do we know, but that
This tree continued the life,
growing to great heights,
providing shelter for birds and
other animals,

providing bark fiber for clothing,
and for fishing nets,

providing bark fiber for baskets
in which to collect berries or cook shellfish,
fine woven baskets that are passed from
mother to daughter, and from grandmother
to granddaughter?

And when the tree’s time was done,
it was felled,
and became a canoe,

a seagoing canoe that carried the People
on waters the Ancestor knew,

carried the People to gatherings and
sacred ceremonies.

And what else do we know, but perhaps the
song that comes out on the water to a puller
in the canoe
is a song from the Ancestor,

a song of thanks for continuing the
circle of life,
and respecting the interconnectedness
of all living things,

a song of thanks for respecting
the sacredness of life?

The Halfling Mage had determined that there were no traps on the door and started to push it open. Peering down the length of the hall there charging toward him were perhaps twenty of the large Orcs and even larger Ogre Orcs. He turned to warn the other to fall back and saw four Illithids appear and dozen more creatures.

Ulthok could see they were caught between two advance menace. With the party between him and the Illithids Ulthok decided to slow the advancing Orcs. While using the door to shield himself he pulling out his wand of frost a cone of cold down the hall, filling the passage with a freezing force that washed over the Orcs and Ogre Orcs. When the blast had left the wand Ulthok slammed the door shut and turned to aid his companions.

While Ulthok was looking down the hall Peri turned to see the yellow skinned creatures appear. They seemed to be really enthralled with their glowing swords, so much so that they secured their grib as they prepared to charge. “Well we’ll just have to see about that, maybe those shinney swords should slip from their grip.” With that the little faerie dragon cast “grease” on the swords of the six charging creatures.

(O.O.C., Those would be C1,2,3,4,5,6)
