Subject: Sirene's Druid Spells..........

When I checked Sirene's spell list I didn't see it in her spell book.

The Endure only does so much as listed for "unprotected".
If we add some "protection" it will reduce the changes or amount of damage.

Once we figure how to stop the cold we can put the clothing in our bag of holding.

Also if the spell gets cancelled the protection will help until spells get cast again.

Subject: Endure Spells..........

So here's my suggestion, since only the clerics can do the Endure spell we need them to prepare and cast the spells on the party before we open the door again.

We need nine spells because it takes one per character, including Peri. Cor and Rayne have eight level one spells each. Roan and Valene have seven.

We should have a second batch ready just in case, so if Cor and Rayne prepare five each and Roan and Valene do four then we will be covered for a bit.

The mages may want to get an extra Wall of Fire to provide heat if needed.

Being a Cleric maybe this would be a good thing for Cor to say in game.

I had really fallen behind in playing John and it wasn't flowing as well as it should so with T_Catt's blessing (sent him PM to ask his approval) the part of Assistant Chief Tactical Officer John Britt Reid will be played by Duncan74.

He is much better at freeform than I have been and he wants back. So "Loverboy John" will once again be on the prowl.

Sirene seemed to be most prepared with wool clothing.

Layer what you can, if we use the endure spell we won't have to be wrapped up like mummies.

As I said we may need to share or even sew up a bit. Even cutting up tents into tunics as an outer layer will hold heat in because of it being dense.

Alyia and Roan will need the least because of their elemental protections.

Once we figure how the stop the cold we can put the clothing in the bag of holding for later.

Subject: Warmer Clothing..........

Well if I remember Alyia has knitting that could be used to sew up blankets and bedrolls into outer wear. So check your stuff and see what can be converted into outer wear.

I'll try to make some sort jacket thing for Peri from part of my blanket.

Bedrolls are normally thicker than blankets. Cut some arm holes and they could be like robes with rope belts.

I'd say if you wear armor you'd want to insulate under it too.

If you have any spare stuff it might help someone else.

Subject: Now What........

Pulling the gems back Ulthok nearly stumbled from the cold affecting his limbs. Sounds of the stone grinding let the mage know that his choice had proven correct, the door was closing. But the fierce cold froze the hinges and the door hang open still letting the cold escape. Preparing to bolt from the room Ulthok turned just in time to see Sirene's spell leap forth with a wall of fire. Quickly it thawed the hinges letting the door slam shut cutting off the terrible cold.

As the room warmed Ulthok scanned the party. He found Peri first, she looked not too worse for the ordeal. Her reptile scale and blood resisted the worst of the damage but she still stood there shivering a bit. Next he sought out Valene. There she stood wrapped in her bedroll, resourceful as ever.

The rest seemed to have fared the same as he, though Roan seemed to have done well against the cold for a human.

"Well we seemed to have found the passage but how can we traverse it?.......... We are not dressed for such a cold,,. If we leave this room to search for warmer clothing we may not find it again,, I suggest we rest and heal here. ,.We wrap ourselves as Valene has but the clerics can also use the spells of endure cold on us to enable us to travel that passage,,. We prepare several so if they dispel l we can recast quickly. With luck we will find the source of the cold and stop it,,,,.So any other ideas?"

Here is what I had saved on what was found and collected in the flying castle. I had also listed who had claimed things. Items not claimed are in our bag of hold and can be brought out as needed.

Potion of a watery black liquid: Potion of Assassination To use this potion user must add a bit of organic matter from the intended target. When consumed the drinker thinks of the intended target and if target is within 50 miles the potion instantly kills target without any save.)

2) 2 Dark red potions the fluid as thick as blood: Potions of Basilisk's Blood x2 Can be used in 2 ways. When brushed on any non-stone object will turn object to stone permanently. When thrown as a missile, on a successful hit will turn creature or object to stone, Creatures gain a saving throw, objects do not. Contains 4 doses.) Lothor

A pair of jeweled Anklets of Walking when locked this anklet allows the wearer to walk upon any fluid ~Water, Oil, Acid, etc~ without actually touching it. One anklet can support 500pds 2 anklets can support 1000pds.) Ulthok,

A set of Bone & Marble Dice of Wagering The dice will roll whatever result the roller desires. In the hands of a thief 8th lvl or higher can undo 1 action in a combat turn. Uses 1 charge for normal roll, 3 charges to change action. Has 21 charges, cannot be recharged.) Ulthok

A wand crafted of bone: Wand of Animation This bone grows into an extra large human skeleton on command. If given a weapon skeleton is AC:4 has 40 hit points and moves normally. Skeleton can be damaged by any sort of weapon and disappears back into bone if ‘slain'. Can carry up to 600pds but moves at half speed. If turned skeleton disappears for 3 rds then reappears and continues to fight. Any Dispel Magic spell automatically causes paralysis for 6 rds. Bone can create a skeleton once per day that stays for up to 8hrs.) Ulthok

A fancy hat with a matching cloak: Clothes of Alteration Cloak and hat can be magically customized to any known piece of clothing to match a city or country's latest rage in clothing. Has 32 charges and can be recharged) Aliya

While wearing it bearer need never eat or breath.
Grants 20 hit points to wearers total for 2 turns (20rds) twice per day. These hit points are lost first when taking damage in combat.
Wearer can cast Burning Hands at 16th LvL 2x per day
Wearer can cast Magic Missile at 16th lvl 3x times a day. Cor

Pin of Vampiric Energy Drain. On command pin will attempt to drain the life-force of any creature targeted killing them instantly and restoring the wearer to full health. Creatures that gain a saving throw do so at -3 to roll.) Ulthok

1) Increased Venom II ( +4 Dagger that on a successful hit injects target with a fatal poison. Target must make TWO saving throws vs poison to stay alive. If successfully saving target still takes 20 points of damage.

2) Fang of the Nosferatu ( +4 Dagger of hardened steel with strange flowing symbols etched into the blade. Groves filled with crushed ruby dust giving the appearance of having been written in blood. The handle is wrapped in old pebbled black hide. On command wearer can shapechange into a wolf or a bat gaining each creatures abilities while retaining AC and HP‘s)

Tann,can the spells Endure Cold and Resist Cold stack?

If they were both cast on the party would they support each other?

Level: 2 Sphere: Protection [Alteration]
Range: Touch Components: V, S, M
Duration: 1 rd./level Casting Time: 5
Area of Effect: 1 creature Saving Throw: None

When this spell is placed upon a creature by a priest, the creature's body is toughened to withstand heat or cold, as chosen by the caster. The spell grants the creature complete immunity to mild conditions (standing naked in the snow or reaching into an ordinary fire to pluck out a note). The recipient can somewhat resist intense heat or cold (whether natural or magical in origin), such as red-hot charcoal, a large amount of burning oil, flaming swords, fire storms, fireballs, meteor swarms, red dragon's breath, frostbrand swords, ice storms, wands of frost, or white dragon's breath. In all of these cases, the temperature affects the creature to some extent. The recipient of the spell gains a bonus of +3 to saving throws against such attack forms and all damage sustained is reduced by 50%; therefore, if the saving throw is failed, the creature sustains one-half damage, and if the saving throw is successful, the creature sustains only one-quarter damage. Resistance to fire lasts for one round for each experience level of the priest placing the spell.

Subject: Warning, warning...Danager, danger....

Lum watched as a piece of trash sailed to land upon the pile of fallen equipment. It nudged another piece of trash and quickly a cascade of the pieces slide down the opposite side of the pile.


The blare of a klaxon comes from above and the sound of hydraulics moving above fills the air. The alarm sounds for only a few seconds and a speaker makes a hissing noise and goes quiet. There is the hiss of a machine releasing and two robots hit the floor about 10 feet behind the party. Lum turns to see two small silver creatures, resembling cats but armed with blasters and sharp blades talons. Then there is more hissing from above but further down the corridor suggesting that more have been dropped and are coming your way.

He drew his heavy blaster as the security bots do not waste time and move to attack.

Lum felt the tingle of Máiréad's spell as she stepped behind him. Once again Lum stood as Guardian of his little party and leveled his Heavy blaster on the Cat to his right.

Squeezing off a surge of energy he hoped it would destroy the creature or at least stop its attack.

(O.O.C.,Got a little more specific on which Cat he was attacking.)
