Algorithm, shmalgorithm...John was just complaining the security codes were too simple. This could be just the kind of thing he'd gravitate too. He'd probably work in out in his head while tearing out the parts for Roc. He was a med guy too so he might even know something about neuro-implants.
Man could you see him and Grace together, wouldn't nuthin be safe...except their stuff.

Subject: How Techy ........
John and Tess are pretty gadget good. Could John or Tess be able to find the signal used to activate the head bombs?
I'd guess each was separate so only those three would be activated. But that could lead to a spectrum of freq that might help drop the mercs. The computer on board should be able to rapidly cover a spectrum with signal pulses and possibly activate some of the implants.
So Giddy and Al(seeing your NPCing Tess) what'cha think?

Subject: Run Away..............
Tohmas and Jaufre struggled as they lugged the chest up the stairs. It was tough but finally past Crow and made it the narrow section of the stairs. Although it was considered wide enough for three adventurers to walk side by side it was tight quarters for two and chest. Trudging onward they moved further up the narrow passage. The two watched the chest and wall but missed the loose coins steps. As they pushed off their footing gave way slightly and the chest rocked spilling some of the coins. The coins bounded down the stair, some launch off and splashing into the pool. That gold was lost but they continued on making room on the stair for the others to leave the cavern. Straining Tohmas called out to his companions,“We must not stop, that may have awakened whatever had collected this gold and may come to reclaim it. Attack nothing if does not attack you first. We cannot risk starting a fight in this narrow passage”.

Well we need to keep moving and not attack unless we are attacked.
It may not be able to get through the narrow stairway but its head or tail might be able to pock in and get someone. Also if it cast stone to mud on the stairs we could all slide down to it. So let's just keep trucking up and out!!!!!

When Asher had finished telling about the Black Dragons the musician seemed shook,“This is not the case.” ……….”I need my case back! It holds a Stradivarius! ……….It is a violin from a supreme craftsman from Earth-that-was.…….. There are only two in existence………. It is so valuable that people would have killed for it back on Earth, making it worth. …….More than all our lives together……… By Buddha, they are after the Stradivarius and I don't know where it is now!"
Matherson cleared his throat, “Well these men seem to be looking for a fiddle of some value to be going through all this trouble and I can guarantee you it is not in that case. …..Captain, My men and myself will offer whatever aid you wish, but I demand my case be returned to me, and you better talk to this pretty lady about where the other case is.”
The crowded turned to look at the lovely young lady in the evening gown.
“What? …………Don’t look at me; Do you see a violin? …………………..How do we know it isn’t in that case after all? ……….You seem awfully concerned with that case and getting it back. How do we know your aren’t involved in this conspiracy?………Think about it people, that Merc ship got here awfully fast, it had to have been in the area. Hell it could have been what caused the ship’s distress. Of course, attack the ship and cause an evacuation knowing that the crew would try and get the musicians off the ship with the violin. ..I think I read, in a brochure or something back on ship, that the Violin was on loan for this special Cruise performance. I bet the owner of such a priceless artifact would have loads of insurance on it. What better way to collect the insurance and ensure the return of his precious violin than to send a ship of Mercs to hijack it en route, then destroy the ship and all survivors once the violin was recovered?"
Wyatt interrupted the lady, “I say we open that case, if you can Sir, and show everyone here if it is the thing putting their lives in danger.”
With a wave of his shotgun he turned back to the woman and motioned her inside Roc. “You there. We’re gonna have a talk in a bit, an’ we’ll get to the bottom of this whole case luh suh in due time, that I promise.” Turning his attention to Mr. Matheson “You sir…….An’ yer men, …..might come in handy here in a bit, but as with the young miss here, there appears to be somethin’ of an interestin’ connection between y’all an’ that which has brought such distress t’ me an’ mine. So, if’n ya want t’ be helpful, you’ll take up temporary quarters inside my ship an’ be ready t’ converse when the time comes. An’ you, musician, you’ll be doin’ the same. Asher, see to it they’re all comfortable in different quarters fer the time being.”
“Yes, Capt’n”’ Ash responded to Wyatt. The GRZ rested slung over his shoulder but the kid laid his hand obviously on the Python strapped to his thigh. Nodding toward the Roc, “If ya all would be so kind as to come back inside,” he drawled with the polite authority he’d been practicing since the survivors were brought on board. The musician was starting to get a look of panic as he was being separated from his group. “It’ll be fine”, the kid said his as let the grim look go and smiled. “Capt’n just wants to sort out the facts……and it’s a lot more comfortable inside.” Asher walked next to the musician following Matheson and the Courier.
Before Jessy turned to follow Ash, she looked like she was about to say something to Wyatt, possibly a denial, but then she nodded and simply said, "I'm Sorry; it was not my intention to endanger your crew or ship."
She joined Ash and the others, stepping in front so that Ash could keep an eye on all of them. She was a little worried about where this was all headed but she still walked proudly with her chin up and her shoulders squared.
The kid knew that they were in the middle of a fine mess and that he needed to keep to business…. but that Courier sure knew how to walk.
Before they could reach the cargo ramp those helping Haverlock hustled past them as they rushed the wounded man to the infirmary. Watching them Ash said, “Just follow them…the quarters you’ll be staying in are just past the medical room.” They walked through the passenger common room and past the infirmary. Going up a few steps they entered the passenger quarters gangway. Stopping Ash said, “Mr. Matheson, you take the first room down there to the left,” as he point to the room next to Sifu’s. “Please go on and make yourself comfortable,” he watch as the man in White climbed into the cabin and closed the hatch.
Turning to the other two he led them down to corridor to the right. “You can wait in there”, Asher told the musician as he point the cabin on the left. The scared man nodded and climbed in pulling the hatch closed behind him. Asher heard the lock clink.
“Miss, that’ll be your cabin there,” as he pointed to the one across the corridor to the right. The young lady turned to enter the cabin. Hesitantly Ash spoke up. “If you don’t mind… I’d like to talk with you a bit afore Capt’n Wyatt gets here,….....It could be very useful for all of us.… We could go back to the settin room if’n you’d like?”
Jessy looked at the young man, remembering him from earlier as being one of the first crew members she had spoken to directly. She remembered that he didn't buy her courier story; she was sure he wanted to talk to her about the case.
She nodded and moved into the Lounge area; she moved to the chairs just inside the door to the left and sat down. She cast a glance at the Infirmary and a worried expression briefly flashed across her beautiful face and then she sighed and turned to him."Ok, what do you wish to talk about?"
The Courier was still dressed in the revealing ripped golden lame gown that accented her figure and as she leaned slightly forward. The cool tone of her voice didn’t match her body language. She sure was looking nice but Asher decided to keep his distance and leaned against the bulkhead.
“When you tried too hard to tell me that storey in the cargo bay about being a courier I thought it smelled then. I told ya I really didn’t care about the case cuz it could just be salvage. Well now that salvage has got us in one Ta Ma Duh mess. We all know now that that salvage is worth a whole lot of credits……Now what you done before you got here is pretty much your concern…and we aren’t all angels here either…but there comes the time when you gotta decide if the….salvage…is worth the risk.”
Asher shifted his weight and removed his hat. “Now I’m just saying, that if a person were do something to help save a bunch of well heeled folk that could vouch for her…… and to help someone like Capt’n Wyatt…. who might know some folk that were…say…lesser upstanding folk that might be alook’n for pretty lady what done things not so upstanding……and convince them to forget her past foolishness…….. Well that could be worth a whole lot more than a few credits.” Pausing to give her a knowing smile he continued,….“Besides..it’ll be mighty hard to stay alive while trying to find someone willing to buy a too famous,.. really old… fiddle.”
The gunslinger straightened putting his hat back on, “There I had my say and I hope you really think about it. Wyatt will be here soon so you’d best get to your cabin for a bit.”
Jessy noticed how the young man looked at her body; she was used to such attention and if the situation were different she might play on that and use it to her advantage but she sensed that this time it just might get her into more trouble.
She listened quietly to the young gun totting kid and when he was done he could see a contemplative look upon her face. After a few long seconds she nodded and then rose to her feet, as she headed to her cabin she spoke just before entering.
"I appreciate your concern and I will consider what you said," she entered the room and as the door closed he could hear her add, "thanks!"
Once the door was closed, Jessy plopped down on the bed and sighed; what a pickle this was turning out to be. There was no way she would be able to keep this violin; she knew some fences, in her line of work it was necessary, but she doubted any of them would want to touch that item as it would be too hot.
She was also feeling guilt at her part in this situation; she wasn't a bad sort, not really, she just had a string of bad luck it seemed and this time it had brought this ship and it's crew into it. None of this had been her fault really, but now she had a choice to make, she just hoped it wasn’t too late.

Tohmas was growing concerned about the commitment of some of the party. They had all taken the Inn Keepers money in return for their service to bring him back treasure. Now that their duty was at hand there were some that would leave it only return with a storey of treasure.
As Tohmas prepared the chest of human gold so it could be carried up the stair Jaufre stepped up to help. With a grunt of effort the two of them lifted the crest and started up the stair behind the Cleric. The going would be slow but the two would see it through.

Subject: Skills...........
Back a ways I'd posted that Ash or someone was getting a list of the passengers and any skills they had that might help the crew. Now would be a good time to see if we have anyone to help route cables and do metal work on the doors.
Asher could head the work crews for cables and doors as Wolf and John find the right stuff. Tess is most likely skilled enough to help too. All good pilots know a bunch about boats systems so they can switch things around to keep flying.
Wyatt, Ma and Sifu on crowd control and maybe moving some to the barracks in the Atmo Processor to keep them out from underfoot, the Lord could manage them. Keep the four geeks busy and away from the Atmo processor so they don't start messing things up there, like make them parts runners back and forth.
Use the bodyguard as Muscle to help Wolf and John with the BIG parts. I'd say just give Mr. Whitecoat his case so he lets his men help. That might make him more of and allie.
The other case is still safe as Jessie is the only one who knows where it is. That'll keep others from trying to steal it to bargain a way off the planet with Black Dragons.
As desperate move could a shuttle or both working together act as the other thruster to inch the Roc into hiding?
Just some ideas.
