Subject: Ulthok knows it exists...

You can't just cast the spell in an area and hope something opens. Ulthok is casting it on the stand. If the stand is not a container as the cleaver theif suspects then nothing happens.

Someone can yell "wait" and then cast a seeing spell if they doubt the "Thief".

Hehehehe.... Ulthok has two knock spells ready!!!!

The theif would seem to beleive in hiding something where others may think it was already found.

Subject: Right Under Our Nose????

The determined charge of the mage had proved successful as all four of his arrows make their mark. The blue shielded enemy turned its head to stare back at the mage in the eye as if in disbelief. Ulthok started to grin as the body dropped to the floor. Still moving to try to get to Althena the mage saw the helmet bounce away from the minions revealing a hideous face. As the life or evil passed out of the creature the face changed to that of a young female elf child. As Ulthok passed the child he felt no pity, but knew he had served this one as he had his brother and set to poor thing free from its torment.

As he raced to reach the Valar he saw Sirene land and gather Althena in her arms to comfort. Straining to hear he could barely make out the words, “Here, yet not, I still feel it, but it’s gone, but here yet?, why do I feel it, not right, not right………….All this way… All the friends lost…. lies told to each of us by our king and my father… all of it was for nothing.... NOTHING!! Then she screamed, “The sword Alasdair took, the one that so many died for, was a FAKE!!”........

“A fake!! “Ulthok echoed back. “Well that’s really going to serve Alisdair well when he presents it to his Master.” Then Ulthok nearly roared with laughter.

Ulthok listened as Maggot approach and expounded as only the bard could. He was always so good with colorful words. The Halfling waited and when the Bard was finished he turned to the Valar.

“My Lady, then your sword is still here, we have not failed quite yet.” He then turned to the stand that had so temptingly held the fake for all to see. “The case is more than it appears, the sword may still be there.” Raising his hand he commands out to the stand “Open” as he cast a spell of “Knock” to out any locks or magic that may be confining the object of their quest.

I was working on the idea, but wanted to sure the group was on board. I wish I have my shatter spell ready.

Tann how long would it take to prepare just one spell?

Yo, wait, Ulthok has "Knock" ready. It opens secret doors and boxes. If he casts it on the stand and it is a secret holding box it should open. But someone has to examine the stand and determine it could be a "box" holding the sword.

OK, I posed it to Tann, if that one was fake, is the real sword still hidden there?

Do we quit or keep searching?

If Althena is just stunned from the mental attack, she may recover quickly, sence it and we can find the sword and start back.

Could it still be hidden inside the stand?

Subject: Drannon, land of Humans...........and Wyrms.....

Well seeing we are in Drannon, I can't think of a good connection or reason for a Half-Sil ranger to be there. But there are a lot human story lines.

So the range will be human.

I have the basic character sheet scores, just don't have his "stuff" yet. I'll try to get the RDI sheet filled in and sent off.

Subject: A Race to the Race.....

Ok, I've decided on a Range to fill out the party, but now I need some help on selecting a race.

Option 1.
So just for spice and that odd story twist, how about a Kazari Cat man, ranger? He just might take on the adventure for the "Honor" of the fight and to take down something that would steal a "Female Child".

He would fit the build I have so far.

Gray fur and green eyes. In most towns his wears a black hooded cloak. Just think of him as "Puss-in-Boot's" bigger cousin, lol. Sort of a "Worf" from Star Trek.

Option 2:

Standard human ranger, a bit of loner, not overly heroic, but a good workman at his trade. Still working on the motivation to join this party. What's in it for him? I'm invisioning a "Nicolas Cage" type character.

Option 3:

Half-Sil ranger, born to the forrest. Doesn't like anything evil that could harm Elve or Human. A wannabe hero type, still young and idealistic. Tries to be more Elve than Human, still has not accepted himself for who he is.

Ok, you guys let me know who you want.

Subject: “Take that BlueBoy.”

Ulthok grinned as his arrows found their mark. The strange attacker had evaded two of the iron tipped missiles by luckily positioning the glowing shield to catch them in their flight. But the other two were now resting nicely in its side. At last something helped the first time.

The enemy was now withdrawing. Kenji could recover but it wasn’t time for Ulthok to let up. Continuing forward the halfling followed the creature with the strange blue glowing shield. The first set of iron tipped arrows had hurt it so now it needed more. If these enemies could be destroyed they won’t have to be faced again.

Pursuing the retreat of the blue shield Ulthok once again used the speed of his bow to place four more iron tipped arrows in flight to drop this invader in its tracks.

It doesn't matter if there is too much good or too evil the ranger returns the balance.

Ok, I'll work on a ranger.

Ok, a non Druid Range it is. I was really getting some good ideas for the Druid though. The only show up when the balance of Good and Evil needs to be returned.

Well Ulthok will like the fact that there is a beautiful women in the party that he can look in the eye without having to stand on a chair.

The others may see her as a small child figure, but Ulthok knows the strength and passion that pluses so vibrently in the heart and soul of those glorious creatures know as the women of "The Folk." It is after all a goddess that watches over them and a bit of that goddess is in each of them.

Also Cor had better watch it, the halfling women are better drinkers than many Dwarves too, lol.

And Halflings do what they must to survive. They may seems "Cute and Adorable, but that is one there better weapons.

Welcome to the game.

I'm just wondering what Tann has in mind to get us all together!

Nothing like a hidden portal to wisk you away. The giants may be the guardians of the secrect enterance and don't know it.

A small tunnel behind a loose bolder, a strange rune, by chance touched, a shiny glow, "flash" and there you are in the temple room fighting minions!

Well if you can give me a couple of more days, I'll build a Ranger. That should help round out the party. It will be a compatable race to your guide. Because of the Holiday weekend I may not get much time to build a back story.

Would you be open to a Druid Ranger? That could fit the story line with an unknown evil starting to rise and shifting the balance in this area. The party would have another Half Elve.

Are you open to a breachgnome fighter? They are an odd bread of Gnomes, they are the trained guards of the burrowes, sort of single minded fighters like a dwarve. I have one from a table top game I play that I might be able to fit here. Or just regular Gnome fighter from one Jozan1's games that folded. He lost his memory so he is trying to find out about his past too.

I'm more comfortable with 2nd Ed.

Subject: Old Dogs and New Tricks..........

One of the joys of the Inn is that it was built around fantasy. It is a quiet place safely tucked away from the constant hussle and bussle of everyday life. You had to find this treasure, which meant you had to be the type of person that would look for this type of treasure.

The safety in being anonymous to the casual viewer could be gone. I fear on facebook there will be those that look for trouble or like to cause it. The peace of mind that comes with this place may be gone. I have not joined facebook and had not planned to do so. I had all I needed here and could reveal myself to those here with trust.

If is indeed true, it will take some deep thought as to whether this Old Dog tries a new trick. The Red Dragon Inn filled a missing part in my life, but Facebook does not.
