Silent...if you go look at the Destiny game there was female Doc as a npc. It might give you a base to build a character. In our WW2 horror game there was a cool female fighter that might spark some ideas.

This is coming at a good time. My health is getting better and my job stress has really gotten better with my job change. I feel I am starting to be able to story think again. Playing Jon was interesting, it was a challenging stretch for me. You were such a help by giving me good stuff to build on.

I've had two thoughts...I liked the idea a "Jon" character but as the co- captain / pilot. Never really thought of him as the "face" but it could work. An ex- officer / pilot, a new build and background.

The other thought was sort of building a "Doc" framing from our WW2 horror game character. A healer that's not afraid to kill.

I like the two week posting time. Gives me time to over think everything..lol.

Memorial Day 2019:

Saturday I attended the 20th grave decorating day at Western Reserve National Cemetery to honor and respect the final resting place for many of those that have served in this nation's Armed Forces. As I have said before I am now one of only two people (the last volunteer, the other is an American Legion member that helps organize the event) that have attended every memorial decoration ceremony since the cemetery was opened in 2000. I am blessed to still be able to attend and honor those who have served. This includes my father who had served in WWII and was interred here in 2003.

This year as a thank you to the volenteers a special gold pin was issued to commerate this 20th annual event.

As in the past after the memorial service the group of several hundred volunteers made up of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and civic groups placed flags on about 40,000 grave sites.

A while back after I had posted I was reminded by some that Memorial Day is to remeber those that died in combat; that Veteren's Day is for honoring all who served and that Armed Forces Day is for those currently active.

I believe that given the chance we owe showing our gratitude to all who serve or served on this National day of recognition, including those of other countries that stand with and by us in times of great need.

I hope many of you will take a moment to remember and say "Thank You" to all those that served.

"Thank You."

Hey..I noticed that Tann is on staff again.

Glad to see you back in the saddle.

The illnesses, surgeries and other not so fun RL stiff  had the T-Man away on the side lines.

Glad to see you were able to get back on staff.

Well now you can weed out  them phoney folks and help the real new folks.

I had started playing AD&D with our Scouts on campouts. We used the game to keep the boys from bringing hand held electronics.

Well that lead my interest in Web Comics. So in 2010 while looking for some I came across Loaded Dice. I started lurking and began to look over the rest of the site. Eol, PitFriend and others were so welocoming that I stayed. The word games and such was what I used to get use to the site. Kibitsing, puns and jokes in Common Room sites got me my "title" of Pundit. It hard to believe I've been here nearly nine years.

As for Tann, his game is more old school and 2.0 rules not 5.0, but it is still D&D roll playing.

Thought I'd pop in here and add the Ody welcome.

A really good place to start here is “Pit F(r)iend's epic guide to getting started for newbies.”  That helps you figure out how to navigate the halls of the Inn.

To meet folk in real time pop into the DragonChat where I act as current resident bartender. We offer our very own "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh", the stale pale ale that is so light it has the foam on the bottom.

Just grab a mug off the mantel and draw a cold frosty one.

My assistant Igor is usually lurking around if I'm not there.

He never says anything, must have something to do with having his tongue cut out by his last boss, that nasty bartender over at the Orc Bar & Grill.

I'll have him put out a plate of "Lady Fingers" in your honor.

Reminds me we need to have another "Ladies Night" and restock.

Anyway the Posting Games are great place to get to know folks and of course the DragonChat is our favorite lounge.

And here’s a soft fluffy towel.  You will find the use for it later.

So lurk or play, welcome to the Inn

Topic: How to add pictures to posts?
Subject:

I can load my photos to Google Photo. To add to the post I go to the photo album, open the picture I want, right click on it and choose “Copy Image Location”. Then in the post I move the curser (the blinking vertical line in the text area) where I want the picture like I was going to type text. I then move the curser/arrow to click on the "Insert/Edit image" button in the menu bar, paste the location into the “Source” field. Click ‘OK” and the picture will be inserted where the text curser was. Now I click on the picture to select it. For me this shows an outline around the picture and the four corners have a small square. I grab a square at a corner and drag the corner in or out to resize it as I want.

Hope this works for you.

This was posted by Eol.....

Posting images works pretty much the same as it always has only it's been "simplified" a bit. Here's how it works:

  • Just as in the past, you'll need to upload/save your images on your own hosting site (i.e. Photobucket, Freewebs, whatever).

  • Once your image is uploaded and you're ready to post it here, you simply start your post and, when you get to the point where you want your picture placed, you click on the "Insert/Edit image" button in the menu bar.

  • The url for your image's location goes in the "Source" field (instead of using the html tag [img src="http:blahblahblah"] tag as you did in the past... the code behind the "Source" field adds this tag for you so all you need is the url).

  • In the "Image Description" field, you enter a brief description of the image (i.e. Tann's Picture). This is purely optional, of course.

  • If you'd like to specify the dimensions of the image, you do so in the "Dimensions" field(s). This is also optional. Leaving this section blank will display your image at it's default size.

  • Once you're done, you click "OK" and, BOOM, your pic is magically in your post!!!

  • Super-facelickity-groovalicious, right?

Aaaaaaaand that's all there is to it, Innmates! No muss, no fuss!

Now, if none of the above made sense to you, feel free to say so and I'll see what I can do about making the instructions simpler... and then make fun of you! (Contact Eol)

I just looked to when I started playing Ulthok. Back on page 138, January 17th, 2011.
How time flies. I really wish there was an easy to way to search through the story.

I write my posts in Word and then copy paste them into the post, then edit. I really should have been dating them.
There has been some roleplay too that I wish I could easily find. It could help get back in character.

Subject: uLTHOK THE 4TH...........

Hi Dragon,

I'm about the fouth person to play the character Ulthok. I took over about the end of the second adventure.
I changed him some when I started and he has changed more since then. He was CN when I started him but through my play Tann and I agreed he was now NG, that let him get a familure. Getting Peri as a familure was a suprise.
Peri has been a PC and a NPC. I have played both at times. Because they had a psyche link it was easier to coordinate them.
She we killed in the last adventure and Ulthok will be trying to raise her.

Ulthok has got a little darker in character which reflects some of my personality shift over the last few years. As life got stressful my writing lost some of Ulthok's humor. I truly hope to bring some of that back. So I too have go back and reread some stories to get that back.

Subject: A Little Background on Ulthok.....but not all of it.....

Ulthok stands at 3ft. 4in and weighs in at 38lbs.His face is little more oval then round and although somewhat rugged looking he projects an air of innocence. His hair is jet black and quite long and he keeps it back in a pony tail he has thick long sideburns on each cheek.
His skin is deeply bronzed from the elements and this sets off his deep hazel eyes. He is good at making people see him the way he wants them to. He uses his eyes to appear innocent and harmless or to give you a dark piercing stare that makes you feel like his is looking into your soul. He appears never to wear armor only a skin tight body suit with normal clothing over it.

Ulthok does not remember his parents or where he born. For as long he could recall he was raised in the capital city of Cormilin by a rogue Halfling known as Trapspringer. Ulthok just referred to him as Uncle. So his early schooling was most in the thieves’ guild where he showed great ability, which some thought mystic.  Ulthok achieved the status of “Master Thief” before he reached his age of maturity. Shortly after Ulthok found himself placed in the servitude of a local Wizard when he had been caught picking his pocket. That servitude turned to an apprenticeship and Ulthok learned to wield magic as no Halfling had been able to do before him.

This unique combination of skills was quickly recognized by the local court and Ulthok was recruited “Special” missions. But what he had learned to love were the random adventures he picked up at the local Inns . It was in one of the Inns he heard that the King of Shanntara was looking for adventures to serve as a reaction force for the King and his allies. Little did Ulthok know what adventures awaited?

Ayrn, for starters there is a brief discription of each character at the end of their character sheets on the Trilogy Characters Page.
But it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to reflect a bit and add some more.

I'll flesh out Ulthok a bit as I see him and play him.
