The group cautiously descended the stair two by two. Tohmas carried a torch to help light the way for those that didn’t have sight for the dark. Gold coin littered the steps and the party collected them as they moved down into the craven. They soon came to a landing where they saw the waters gather into a pool. As their eyes adjusted they were able to see more, some a bit unnerving. There were three chests holding gold at the bottom, at table held a wand and guntlets. But what bothered Tohmas was a parchment that was held by four skeletal hands.

As Crow drew his bow to prepare to defend the party Tohmas called out, “Don’t touch that parchment.. those hands may be those of the last to try to claim it. There may be an enchantment upon it. Perhap the text can be copied to study.” Tohmas also drew his bow to assist Crow.

Just a quick thought.

Don't touch the parchment with your hands!

It may be enchanted and that is why there are hands on it. The only way to get away is to cut off your hands. Chewing off thumbs didn't work.

I'd say to copy the text and study that. Use stones or even gold pieces to hold it flat so it can be read.

Seeing that Val posted that she pulled on the guard that moves Asher's target. Asher fired when the guard pushed.

He would have normally sighted mid body (chest)to allow for max target. He would expect the guard to knock back from the impact and would be prepared to follow in the sights for a second shot. Now the tricky part is how Roger decides the action flows. The bullet impact on guard will effect direction of fall as will the Aikido move. The guard would be starting his lean and be in motion which cleared Willow enough for Asher to fire. I'd think that bullet impact and wrist twist happen at about the same instant. This improves Willows leverage on the guard and increases the effect of her move. Holding his arm impedes the backward motion but increases the body spin. That spin / twist should really open up Willow's target area for the pin prick. So that guy goes down and gets knocked out.

The percussion of Asher's shot would likely draw the attention of the prone guard causing him to look up to see where the shot came from. That hesitation giving Havelock a moment to dive on the guy and possibly prevent him from shooting.

Wyatt, your on your own, lol.

Subject: Single shots...

Because Asher was using his scope he'd have to rifle on single shots. I was just wondering if he'd been able to resight and shoot again in the same round?

Picture him hitting the guard (provide the dice let him hit), guard staggers and then is hit again and then maybe again. That would push him away from Willow and draw attention. (who knows might even find a chink in the armor.)

Subject: Miss Willow!!!!!!!!!!!

LV-426, Hunkered down behind the thruster house of Rocinante, 8:21 am PT

When armored guard grabbed Miss Willow the Kid took his aim off the Marshall and sighted on him.

As the crowd became restless a rock was bounced off the Marshall’s head. The man raised his gun yelling, “GORRAM HELL! …………Scrag them. Property damage! NOW!”

The kid heard the Marshall give the order to shoot his friends, “Jien Ta Duh Guay “ (like hell!) rumbled from Asher throat.

The guard holding Willow roughly shoved her the ground. The guard didn’t know hurting Miss Willow was worst move of his life.

As the guard turn his gun on the crown Asher opened fire on him hoping at least to knock him off his pins.

Rage still consumed the Kid as he roared, “Lio Coh Jwei Ji Neong Hur Ho Deh Yung Duh Buhn Jah
J’wohn.” (Stupid son of a drooling whore and monkey)

How many shots from GRZ 1 can Asher get off in that 6 seconds? My description doesn't tell me if it is auto or semi-auto.

This would be a good time for Tess to make her way closer and hurl in the EMP.

Oh Dear..... Shoot the bad guy leader and leave the group in chaos or try to save Miss Willow and bounce a few rounds off the armored lackey???????

Nice map. But I totally thought the Atmo was behind the ASREV and Wolf was flanking the badies.

Just saw Trish too and she's pretty good at covert, she might be able to go around and pitch a EMP.

Subject: Where Is The Water going?

Does it seem odd that the water is flowing into the pool and the pool is not overflowing?

Does it seem odd to hand bone hands and no body?

Does it seem odd to have coin on the stair, are they going up or spilled going down?

If we decide to take the gold out, I'd think we try one chest at a time, with two caarrying and the rest guarding. I bet the cion were spilled by being recovered by it guardian or guardians. Leave two at the top to guard the chest while rest go back for the next. And so on.

Just some thoughts.

Subject: Happy Waters???????

Crow lead the way as he and Tohmas search to find the source of the water sounds. Before long the ranger indicated the sound was under ground. Tohmas placed his ear to the ground and he too heard the rush and fall of water. “This why we do not see the benefit of the waters, it is hidden away. If we ere to find it the way would have been shown.” At that they heard Mylos let out a scream.

Rushing to his aid they saw the Gnome pull his hand from a cleft in the stone to reveal a gold coin. The party gathered and search the rubble, soon more coins were found. As they cleared the debris Tohmas notice that it appeared to be steps leading down toward the sound of the waters.

( using some of the Q&A info from Hammer.)

Stepping forward the Cleric motioned and suddenly the stone blew away revealing passage going down. As the dust settled more coins were on the stairs and soon each of the party had at least one of the coins. Peering into the dark of the passage Tohmas said, “I’ll gather materials to make torches, you continue to clear the steps.” In short order the Shaman had located some long pieces of wood and with Crows help they soon had fashioned two torches.

The party now gathered in preparation to follow the coins and see what may be found along the sounds of the under ground waters. The stair was wide enough that they descend three across but they choose the travel two by two. Caution was the wise way to travel. So with Amur and Crow leading they started.

Subject: Too Far......

LV-426, Hunkered down behind the thruster house of Rocinante, 8:18 am PT

Watching the events unfold Ash knew he was too far away to use smoke or any other grenade. The Marshall showed his true colors when he slapped the lady. If he hadn’t released his trigger the kid could have dropped him then, but now he’d have to wait for another opening. As the crowd reacted the kid held aim. If the Fed hurt any of the crew he’d start shooting to draw their fire. A few well placed rounds off the lackey’s armor could change the momentum. The next move was up to them.

Sheesh.... the point was to use OLD player references. I could have said Otto Graham or Norm Van Brocklin. You kids don't know the real greats of the game. The guys before big salaries and endorsements. These were REAL players.

It would like Tess using a reference to " Scott Crossfield ".
You most likely know Chuck Yeager, but do you know Scott?

Would the pilot port and the visors on the lackey's helmets negate a Optical Bomb?

If it went off above the crowd the Feds would being looking into it while the other would have their backs turned.

I figured Tohmas found some framing wood about 18 - 24 inches long about 2x2 or so. Used a little pot to melt the wax in and used that to soak and coat the binding materials to wrap around and secure to the end to make the torch head.

Let's figure the shot now!

\cos x\cdot \cos y & = \frac{(e^{ix}+e^{-ix})}{2} \cdot \frac{(e^{iy}+e^{-iy})}{2} \\ & = \frac{1}{2}\cdot \frac{e^{i(x+y)}+e^{i(x-y)}+e^{i(-x+y)}+e^{i(-x-y)}}{2} \\ & = \frac{1}{2} \bigg[ \underbrace{ \frac{e^{i(x+y)} + e^{-i(x+y)}}{2} }_{\cos(x+y)} + \underbrace{ \frac{e^{i(x-y)} + e^{-i(x-y)}}{2} }_{\cos(x-y)} \bigg] \ \end{align}
allow for scope!
\cos(nx) & = \mathrm{Re} \{\ e^{inx}\ \} = \mathrm{Re} \{\ e^{i(n-1)x}\cdot e^{ix}\ \} \\ & = \mathrm{Re} \{\ e^{i(n-1)x}\cdot (e^{ix} + e^{-ix} - e^{-ix})\ \} \\ & = \mathrm{Re} \{\ e^{i(n-1)x}\cdot \underbrace{(e^{ix} + e^{-ix})}_{2\cos(x)} - e^{i(n-2)x}\ \} \\ & = \cos[(n-1)x]\cdot 2 \cos(x) - \cos[(n-2)x]

Hmmmm.......... it's close!
