Topic: Star Trek: the Edge of Duty Q&A Subject: Well...
...just because it's technically an "off day" doesn't mean Karri can't work. Maybe she's been so bored that helping with the offload/transfer of the pod would be something she'd volunteer for... *shrugs*
As to entertainment - aboard the ship, there are, of course, the holosuites (wide variety of entertainment possibilities, there, I'm sure); of course, I'd say the ships computer has a wide variety of music, books, holo-vids (films, etc) that could be accessed from personal devices and/or consoles in the crew quarters, etc. There's the Observation lounge, of course, where Karri might go to have a drink, play a game, socialize with other crewfolk, etc... And, heck, we've just docked at a Starbase! The entertainment possibilities there are porbably more vast than what's available aboard the Peregrine... Full sized holodecks, Replimats in which someone might go shopping, etc... The choice is yours, really... Work or play, up to you!

Topic: Star Trek: the Edge of Duty Q&A Subject: Current timeline
We're still on the same date (Sunday, February 7, 2365)... As of our arrival at SB 118, the time is 1719 (5:19 p.m.) Technically, according to the roster, Karri is off today... Also, she's not expected on duty until "tomorrow," 2365.02.08, at 1500 (which would be Monday, Feb 8, 2365 at 3:00 p.m.)

Topic: Star Trek: the Edge of Duty Q&A Subject: Well...
...it's entirely possible that Hebert was aware of/notified of Peregrine's arrival. If he's anxious, I suppose he can go to the ship, request permission to board, and then report to his Chief FCO.
Alternately, he could have already been waiting when Peregrine arrived and, maybe, strikes up a conversation with a crew member who's disembarking before going all "official" as above.
Wide range of possibilities.

Topic: Buried Evil Q&A Subject: Introducing your "guide"
Name: Talcanaiion "Talca" Aldavathar
Race: Sylvari
Class: Ranger (Pathfinder)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Languages:
- Sylvari
- Apononese
- Drannese
Physical Description: Talca is, at a glance, easily identifiable as a Syl; tall, lean muscled, and preternaturally graceful. The golden color of his almond-shaped eyes, too, is almost as readily identifiable a Sylvari trait as are the points of his ears. His hair, colored various shades of brown much like the floor of his native forests, is worn long but pulled back and secured by a smattering of thin braids so as not to interfere with his vision. The intricate, leaf, vine, and arrow toolwork of his well-worn leathers do nothing to obscure his heritage, either; nor do the bows and well-stocked quiver of arrows he carries. The machetes, though, to most folk of any species that have so much as heard tales of the Sylvari, the machetes that Talca carries are, indeed, a curious choice of weapon.
Background: Born and raised in the town of Poldora in Londelirinen, Talca spent his early years playing in and exploring Hith Taure (the Misty Forest) and, in doing so, nurtured a great love of "wandering with a purpose." Seeking out and discovering new and alternate routes to and from various destinations, for him, became less and less a hobby or diversion but, something much more akin to a passion. When he was of age, he eagerly apprenticed himself to a lovely, wandering archer, originally from Alloryen, named Merilwen Gabrinil. Under Merilwen's tutelage, Talca became not only a talented archer in his own right, but, also, was afforded numerous opportunities to hone his pathfinding skills. In fact, before the pair finally parted ways just a handful of years ago, Merilwen had come to defer to her apprentice's judgement when it came to finding and navigating their course during and between adventures, as his skill in doing so was almost uncanny.
Even with those skills taken into consideration, though, Meri and Talca went their separate ways when the she-elf was summoned to Ela-Isthtel by the Sylvari Court. The mission that the kingdoms would have her undertake, Meri had told him the night she left, was not one she would care to see Talca endure, besides, the Court had summoned her, and her alone. So it was that, in order to continue feeding his wanderlust and love for exploring, Talca began hiring himself out as a guide and pathfinder to just about any party that would have him, and so it is that he comes to be with his current companions.
Personality: When Talca is "working" he tends to present as your typical Sylvari - quiet, focused, self-assured, even, perhaps, a bit aloof - but, given his choice of occupation, that would almost be expected of anyone of any race. In those times that he's not blazing and scouting the trail ahead of his compatriots, on the other hand, Talca is a bit of a different case. Depending on the individual perceptions and prejudices of those who have travelled with him, the Syl pathfinder has been alternately described as snarky, arrogant, sarcastic, and, from time to time, funny. In all his years travelling with Meri and, also, in the years that have followed, Talca has been exposed to all types - from the gruff, glowering, never-speak-more-than-a-syllable-to-a-point-ear sort, to those that saw Syls as exotic and exhilarating and would never stop talking if you did - and, as a result, has come to the decision that people weren't much different from paths. Every once in a while you'll encounter part of one that surprises you, but you can't let it change who you are or where you're going, so, you continue being you and find your way over or around that off-putting obstacle and arrive at your destination all the happier for it in the end.

But, if you want, you can always check out "Sal's Outfitters" in the Armoury menu, up above... Pretty nicely laid out "store," there, and has info on just about everything you might want/need.
I'll see what I can find as far as a shareable version, though, and wing it out to you when I dig it up.

Topic: Star Trek: the Edge of Duty Q&A Subject: Bridge watch...
Typically, while docked at a Starfleet/Federation facility, it's not 100% necessary to have a crew presence on the bridge - in a lot of cases, the crew of ships (especially those the size of Peregrine) might take this brief stop at the Starbase as an opportunity to get in some "off ship" R&R - Starbase personnel (i.e a Starfleet Security attachment posted to the base) can easily and readily be "substituted in" to relieve the ship's crew. On the other hand, each ship's TAC/SEC officer likely has their own methods and, quite possibly, would dictate that at least one ship-side security officer man/guard the bridge.
That said, I don't think that we're really going to be at SB118 for too long. So I doubt we see a full scale exodus for shore leave. You'd have to talk to the TAC Chief to be sure about watches.
Also... no, in the instance you refer to, "Mister" was not an insult. Perfectly fine and acceptable use of the term.

Stardate 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine, Bridge - 1719
From the time of Thorson's unexpected ‘malfunction' in the Obs Lounge until the time, just seconds ago, that he had disengaged Peregrine's warp engines, Tochi had actively thought of little else aside from that strange, cup-crushing glitch. The cybernetics in the CEO's arm were, Tochi knew, top of the line and not prone to the sort of random failings as had been exhibited in the Lounge just a short while ago and that event, coupled with the oddities surrounding the Hekaran escape pod which led up to it, had the Trill just a little more than concerned. Concerned for his friend, concerned for his ship, and, now, as they drew within minutes of Starbase 118, concerned, too, for whomsoever would be taking charge of the errant Hekaran lifeboat,
"Starbase 118 detected, Captain", Lieutenant Commander Chell reported, "Approximately twelve million kilometers away, bearing one seven point four, mark one one six. I register one Federation vessel near the starbase... it is the Coronado, sir."
,Tochi made note of the bearing and adjusted course accordingly,
"Thank you, Commander," Drake replied. "Open a channel and inform the starbase of our arrival."
"Aye, sir."
"Lieutenant Zai," Drake ordered, then, take us into the starbase, please; half impulse."
"Half impulse," Zai answered, his fingers gliding over the Impulse Engine controls as SB 118 panned into the center of the viewscreen, "Aye, sir."
Recent glitches and oddities aside, the Peregrine's approach to the Starbase was as smooth a sail as the little ship had ever seen and, with the base now in sight, Tochi found himself actually starting to feel a bit better about docking with the thing and, shortly thereafter, offloading the pod that had so troubled him these last few hours. That sense of ease was relatively short-lived, though, as, just minutes into their approach, Chell advised that the Coronado was hailing them,
"I take it Sarah was waiting for us, then," Tochi could hear the expectant smile where it touched the Captain's voice, "Put it onscreen."
,And, when the viewer resolved to show the pinched visage of a Captain who was decidedly not the Sarah whom Drake had expected, Tochi almost felt that smile melt away from Silas' demeanor.
Wonderful, Tochi sighed inwardly as the Coronado's commanding officer addressed Drake, pushing the line between condescension and outright insult to it's limit, Someone's gone to a lot of effort to stack the deck against, you Silas. Play your game; not theirs,
Of course, Lt Zai had a spot of trouble of his own in following that bit of unspoken advice as Captain Jacobs continued his not so subtle haranguing. Silas, though, seemed to be managing it well enough, so Tochi made sure to keep his attentions to the controls and, when necessary, bit his tongue to keep from interjecting. Mercifully, it was over soon enough,
",You will meet with us on Starbase 118 to welcome them, as they have requested to meet all commanding officers... such as they are. Jacobs out."
"Prick," Tochi muttered under his breath as Jacobs disappeared from the viewer.
Behind him, Drake cleared his throat - likely to keep from voicing his own commentary - and said; "Take us in carefully, Tochi. By the book, if you please."
"Aye aye, sir," the Trill answered aloud, "by the book, it is," Even if we'd really love to buzz the Coronado's bridge, right now, he added for no one but himself to hear.
He tapped the console to his right, connecting to the Starbase's Approach Control Center; "Starbase 118 Approach Control; USS Peregrine requesting lock-on."
=/=Affirmative, Peregrine=/= came the reply, =/=Systems locked. Proceed to Docking Bay Four.=/=
"Acknowledged," Zai said, further drawing down power from the impulse engines as he maneuvered the ship toward the specified bay, "On final approach, Bay Four." Once aligned with the spacedoors, Tochi killed the impulse engines all together, and brought the Reaction Control Systems online.
=/=Final approach, aye,=/= the ACC intoned as Bay Four's spacedoors yawned open, =/=Ready to receive you, Peregrine.=/=
Using only the aft thrusters, Tochi eased the ship into the docking bay in a little less than a minute. As the spacedoor closed in Peregrine's wake, he tapped the console again; "Approach Control; stand by gravitational and umbilical support systems."
=/=Standing by.=/=
Zai nudged the RCS thrusters, aligning the Peregrine to accept the awaiting support umbilicals, and, then, cued the appropriate ports open. "Peregrine is in the roost, Control," he said after a moment, keying the appropriate systems over to the starbase's control center.
=/=Confirmed,=/= came the response, =/=We've got you, Peregrine. Welcome to Starbase 118.=/=
