Added the first bit of my post to the "Onward and Upward" section in the collab doc... Seemed to fit or lead in nicely to what the two of you already have there, so I figured why not. Going to take a little break and tend to some work related business, now, before I get into the next "ambush." If either of you want to write that up, feel free, otherwise, I'll do so once I get work sorted.

...I haven't checked the collab doc, yet, this morning. I'll take a peek in a few.

They're Morganaquinns!!!
Back isn't feeling a whole lot better, today, but I am at least able to hobble around without feeling like I'll snap in two. I'll do my best to get some posts going, soon.

Topic: Learning Irish Subject: I'll be fine
Threw my back out with a sneeze, this morning... Geezerhood, you know?
Daughter came by after she got off work and took me over. Got the once over, a shot, and a prescription for Flexoril. Back home and sprawled on the couch, now.

Yes, indeed. Wasn't much to do in the waiting room at urgent Care so I figured why not practice some Swahili.

Topic: D&D with horror themes, revisited Subject: Groovy!
I think, given how we got our collective ass handed to us by Davena last time, a larger party makes great sense.
Looking forward to meeting Einar (and whomever else may join us).

Yeah, and then there's the big dumb Kazari who has a tendancy to just throw himself directly in front of whatever lies ahead, as well.
The Hunt awaits, t'mbili!

Nixelated pipples and all!
Yep, yep... Olan's got the PHB and such available and, I'm sure, will link you. That said, though, with the way he runs things, the most you'll ever really need to concern yourself with the rules/mechanics is during character creation... most everything where the rolling of dice and such is concerned happens behind the scenes and all we have to do is play our characters. It's rather awesome!
Edit: A ranger would be a nifty addition, IMO.

Welcome to the asylum!
Soo glad to took the bait... er... I mean... accepted the invitation!
Yeah... that's it...
No worries about being a noob, either. I think you'll find that we're all pretty helpful and available if you have any questions or whatever. Just drop a post or shoot a PM and we'll come a-runnin'.
@ "normal stuff"
Mmmm-hmmm... completely normal. As normal as talking tigers and blister sticks.

Yeah... knowing what I know, now, I feel kind of bad for Morgana... or, at least understand her motivations a bit better, anyway.
That said, Ch'dau knows none of it and would just as soon kill her if given the opportunity.
Kind of hoping Morgana just poofs away and doesn't offer the chance, tbh.

Topic: D&D with horror themes, revisited Subject: World info
Most everything you might need where the world is concerned can be found under the Audalis menu at the top of the page dragon_soul. Lots of maps, articles, and the like that outline everything from the continent and countries to races and religions. You can also get there by hiting this link Audalis Campaign Setting

... especially if it might have any bearing on post HC events. *nods*
I mean, Ch'dau and Ara probably knew each other fairly well at the time HC was happening but likely came to know muuuuch more about one another during their time together in Aftermath, right?

...and I've gotta say, I'm digging this app, already.
Seems very intuitive.
Also, Swahili isn't terribly difficult, so far.

Topic: Kith, the Cat, and the Khatun Q&A Subject: Great post!!!
Formation going forward sounds good to me, too... and, in addition to those sneak-attacks, I can see some potential for Kith and Ch'dau to "practice" some of that DFA business, as well.
As to resistance, I imagine we might encounter some of whatever remains of Adedre's guardsmen (not sure exactly how many of those might be left, tbh, but I'll give it some thought), possibly a skeleton or six, and, if things go really bad for the slitch, we may even face an alcolyte or two... and, of course, Adedre, herself.
Got to go and help the wife with some things at her work, here, shortly, but I'll keep this stuff in mind and see if I can't get a few more details sketched out when I get home.

Topic: D&D with horror themes, revisited Subject: There's still an opening (maybe two) available...
...per the first post in this thread: "The party is pretty balanced as is; I see a need for a rogue, but another caster would be welcomed. A warrior type could work with the right story."
If you want in, give some thought to the classes above - (I'll re-stress that we really could use a rogue as our last one got brainwashed, abducted, and forced to carry and undead baby) - then come up with a concept and possibly something of a backstory for your proposed character and PM it to t_catt11.
Also note that we've got a pretty writing intensive group, here, and, in most cases, posts are expected to be a good two or three paragraphs in length (some of us get quite a bit more wordy, though) and the DM is looking for at least one post maybe even two per week.

Languages have always kind of fascinated me, too, and, after reading your blog post and tradig comments with you on FB, I've downloaded the app and am going to see what I can do about actually learning a new language or two, myself.

Topic: Kith, the Cat, and the Khatun Q&A Subject: Right?
I don't think that one got past more than five posts or so before the "GM" vanished on us, though... The premise was pretty awesome but we'd barely begun to explore our characters before it fizzled.
Aha! Here it is: The Flight of the Dawn Falcon
LMAO - Just read through the history and bios of the crew... Man, Sully was an odd one!
P.S. If someone had kidnapped Ellie, I'm sure Sully would have loaded some shells in that scattergun and come looking for her.

Topic: The Adventures of Kith, the Cat, and the Khatun Subject: A Trap Unsprung and Puppets Unstrung
Still aching from his injuries but soothed somewhat by Mosic’s pleas to Falloes for healing, Ch’dau worked alongside the priest and Kithran to clear the pile of charred bones from where they blocked the door. As they made their way through the mound, Kithran paused when she came upon a few scraps of charred black cloth.
“Was this my very expensive cloak,” she demanded, “Which I graciously lent to you and was going to sell once we were free of this hell?”
Ch’dau felt her disapproving glare on him but was too busy untangling the heap of bones to bother meeting her gaze. “Not now, kibibi,” he chuffed, lobbing half a ribcage over his shoulder, “we need to get through this door.”
The half-Syl sneakthief sighed in annoyance; “Remind me to yell at you later then, yes?”
“Hmm,” the kazari rumbled, “I can hardly wait, Little Kitten.”
Between the three of them, it didn’t take much longer for the carnage to be cleared from the crumpled casing of the door and, after that, only a few more seconds for Kith to cut the threads that bound the handles. The hinges creaked and the slabs splintered even more as Ch’dau wrenched the doors open but Kithran’s shocked gasp rose above either of those sounds at the sight that awaited them. Aranwen stood with her back to them, seemingly transfixed by a masked, almost shadowy figure just beyond her.
“Aranwen, move!” Kith shouted, a thrown dagger punctuating the words even before Ch’dau could growl and pull a blade free. As Kithran’s blade sliced into the apparition’s shoulder, the thing shrieked causing the kazari’s ears to flatten against his head. As the blood-curdling scream dissipated, so, too, did the shade, causing Aranwen’s sudden strike to split little more than shadow.
As the unholy apparition discorporated, Kith’s dagger and yet another doll fell to the floor and the Bladesinger swooned, stumbling backward. Ch’dau abandoned his grip on the hilt of his falcata, reaching out his paw to steady the bladesinger, instead, as she sought to get her wits about her once more.
“Wh-what happened in there?” Aranwen asked, “Are you alright?”
“A trap,” Ch’dau snorted, his paw still resting on the Syl woman’s arm, though she seemed to be steadying up well enough on her own, now. “We are fine, my khatun,” he said, his head tilting curiously as he regarded her, “How are you?”
((Anything from Ara or the rest, here… ))
The kazari nodded, his hand finally falling from her arm as he turned his eyes to Kithran. “Did you find what you were looking for in there, kibibi,” he asked, gesturing vaguely to the ravaged room behind them.

Yeah... Sullivan O'Shea, aka Sully Star-eyes... he was one I wish I'd gotten to play a bit more, actually. Had potential to be a lot of fun! Especially with the "eccentricities" of the rest of the Dawn Falcon considered.
Almost done with my next post, btw... Should have it tacked up in just a few minutes.

Topic: D&D with horror themes, revisited Subject: Hunks of dynamite
I've reached out to Celeste and Finn in regards to this. No guarantees, of course, as they both seem to be busy in other areas of their lives, but, when I think of dynamite players, these two both come to mind.
Got a couple of other folks I might try to convince to, at least, give us a look, as well. We'll see what comes of it.
