It was a fun scene to write... and the waking moments, though they've just begun, are just as entertaining.

P.S. @ "Wild Saranwen!" She just might be wild when she walks in to see her husband bleeding all over himself with a viking tied up across the table. Get ready for the spray-bottle, sea-monkey!

...so, I decided to keep it short for this bit, in order to let the two of you post your own actions/reactions, etc, as you see fit.

Ch'dau, of course, will be attempting to tear his way through whatever guards might be trying to cover Adedre's retreat/spell-slinging (I'm almost imagining bone spike being lauched, for some reason, tbh), but weeeeeeeee'll see.

Topic: The Adventures of Kith, the Cat, and the Khatun
Subject: Do I look like a cat with a plan?

“…What’s the plan,” Kithran murmured the question as the party approached Adedre’s chambers.

“Well, we have nothing to go on. So we must be open to adapt as things happen around us,” Aranwen answered as they came within a few feet of the doorway, “She will still be protected, one way or another, by spell or guard. If we should rush her, we may be able to keep her from wielding her magic. If she's there, that is. It wouldn't be impossible for her to have fled.”

A muffled rasp and thunk sounded from the other side of the doors, causing Ch’dau to hold up a paw, calling the troupe to a momentary halt. He sniffed the air, and snorted softly. “She is there,” he rumbled, nodding an affirmation to the bladesinger, “I can smell the rotten slitch... as well as the m’kojo running down her guards’ legs.”

That savage, sharp-toothed smile split the kazari’s lips as he glanced back at the others, sheathing one of his falcata as his fingers flexed firmly around the hilt of the other. “The plan, Little Kitten,” he chuffed, moving to position himself in front of the entryway, “is to tear these doors off and then kill everything on the other side, hm?” Ch’dau took a breath, carefully aligning his blade to the seam where the two door-panels met, then, with a quick glance at the others, asked; “Ready?”

Aranwen nodded, her blade relaxed but ready in her hand.

Mosic looked more than a bit concerned but made the sign of his god, readied his mace, and nodded as well.

Kithran was crouched low, her weight shifting on the balls of her feet. “You already owe me a cloak, cat-beast,” she muttered with a quick bob of her own head, “don’t make me take the price of this book from your hide because of your vengeance, too.”

“Hm,” Ch’dau grunted, his gaze returning to the door as he brought the falcata over his head, “I will do my best, kibibi.”

Then, with a roar that seemed to summon all of his strength, the kazari brought the blade down in a swift, savage arc. The only thing that gave any indication that it had met any resistance at all was the sound of splintering wood and the sparks that flew as the result of latches being hewn through. It didn’t even seem that the blade’s arc was fully completed before a snarling Ch’dau charged forward, literally barreling through the doors as shrieks of pain and fear erupted from inside.

"ADEDRE!!!" The kazari roared, standing atop a sundered door under which at least one guard was pinned, "Come and bleed me, now, witch!!!"

...a bladesinger with two blades? That could turn into a whirlwind of whoopass, PDQ!

Ch'dau's going through the doors with only one blade in hand, so there's a spare falcata available... Juuuuuust sayin.

I'm reading these Saeranwen posts and thinking... Yeah... That's kind of what it's like in Tochi's head, just add about four more voices. I can totally sympathise.

Good stuff, Rer!

Should have a post for Ch'dau ready to go in a little while.

Subject: Random thought

At this point, I'm almost thinking that the fire thing with the combat puppet will be somehow unintentional... the fire from the study on the floor below rekindling/spreading up to this floor or, maybe, a toppled candle/lamp sparking a second blaze much closer. *shrugs*

Not quite close to the point where the rook comes into play, at this point, but, it struck me that an "accidental" kindling of the rook might make the most sense... unless Ara or Kith (or even Mosic) have a sudden insight or idea, of course. Ch'dau's enough of a meathead that he'd likely try and hack and slash the thing to bits without giving active consideration to flames.

Now... off to read the "Morgana for Dummies" user manual before I get too far into this post.

  • Resistant to precision based damage due to the strength of the magical threads employed in the construction of the mannequin

How do they hold up to fire?

Yes, I got the link to the PDFs. I haven't downloaded them, yet, but I did give them a look over and I think they look great! Thank you.

As far as setting goes; I'm good with whatever works for everyone else. I'm not sure if there are maps and such available for New Camelot or not but I can do some looking and see. If nothing else I can reach out to Skari-dono and see if he has them available.

Aaaand power levels - from what I'm seeing, Mr Nobody and CC are both PL 10. Might be easier for me to bump Samael up to that level than it would for the others to roll theirs back, I think. Again, I'm totally flexible on this, too.

Re: Power levels - I'm perfectly fine to play at whatever PL you decide.

Re: Setting/Patrol areas - Freedom City works for me, as well, but I'm not particular if others would prefer a different setting. As to patrol areas, I kind of imagine Samael's base of operations being at the top of a church... In the New Camelot setting for which he was originally created, he spent alot of his downtime on the roof of the Our Lady of Victory church among the sculptures of angels there. Seemed a fitting place for him, I think and, if possible, I'd like to do a similar thing for him in this game - the church being at the "center" of his typical patrol zone.

As I said, though, I'm flexible where all of this is concerned.

I was hoping to get some posting done, myself, but came down with a case of the yucks. Those flu shots don't work half the time, I guess. Feeling a bit better today but still not 100%... at least I can force myself upright this morning without getting the wah-wahs or puking on my shoes. Yay progress.

Very good, kibibi!

Si'taku m'jusi translates roughly as "Cry to the lizards." Basically the Kazari approximation of "Tell someone who cares." K'tombat'u can be translated as "f***er" or "a**hole."

Just saw that little snarly face and it reminded me of the Cub'dau scene where he and Rrow'cus have their little tussle... And that was the line Ch'dau delivered when the other cub threatened to kill him.
