Topic: Hidden Corruption Q&A Subject: My pleasure, Butterfly!
I've gotten a start on the updates. Creeping up on the end of the first page, so far.
I've been changing Arancon to Aranwen and updating pronouns as I go.
P.S. Since Olan's already started on the name replacement, I may hold off a bit until he runs it on the game thread... then I'll only need to do the pronouns.

Way ahead of you on the "manual updates," good sir. Looking through the document, now, and finding instances where pronouns might need to be swapped out and will edit posts accordingly as I get the opportunity.

Topic: Hidden Corruption Q&A Subject: FWIW
Captain Backup just performed a find/replace on the word document and, to this point in the game, there are 289 instances of Aranwen. Only 15 instances of Khan (two of which appeared in the word backhanded and two more not relating to Aranwen, at all).

...the only thing it will influnce where Ch'dau is concerned is in the way Aranwen is addressed... Khatun as opposed to Khan and such.

Looking forward to watching this and hoping it does the books justice.
Really wish they'd give a release date, though! I keep looking but haven't seen anything other than "Fall of 2019."
Speaking of the books, I might need to go and find them, again... Get, at least, Blood of Elves read before the show hits.

Let me get the "RDINN Mini-van" painted, first, though... it's current color-scheme doesn't exactly scream "Adventure Awaits," does it?

Upsetting but understandable, I suppose. Blackthorn was an awesome player and his absence won't go unnoticed. Here's hoping that RL smoothes out for him and that we get to see him play again.

Topic: The Corruption Hidden Beneath the Surface... Subject: Onward, kazari soldiers!!!
As Aranwen did her part as khatun and discussed recent and future happenings with Davena, Ch’dau simply sat at Kith’s side, resting and listening as he could. The bladesinger’s obvious eagerness to accompany the strange pair in their exploration of the caves drew little more than a nod of assent from the kazari and, once that decision had been made, the Silver Cat helped his friend to her feet and the troupe made their way to the spot where their most recent battle had been joined. The recovery of discarded weapons and gear had been relatively easy save for the fact that Ch’dau’s falcata was more than a bit stubborn in loosing itself from the tree to which, in his rage, it had been embedded. The blade did come free, though, after more than one snarled curse and an instance of falling back on his own tail in the effort to unstick the thing.
Following the recovery of dropped and discarded gear, Ch’dau aided in the stacking and burning of the bodies of the twice-dead while sharper and more analytical minds examined the corpse of Dh’urgen’s priest. His ears twitched and, some may have noticed, a rather skeptical expression crawled across his features several times during the conversations held over the death-monkey’s cadaver but, through it all, the cat-man saw fit to hold his tongue and, instead, trained his quiet attentions on the words and actions of their unexpected benefactors. In the end, with the corpses burnt to ash and little left to do but wait for the dawn of a new day, Ch’dau gathered Kith up and slept for all the good it did, waking only to serve his watch before mornings light broke over the corrupted forest. Come the dawn, the kazari sat in his place about the fire, eating his breakfast and tending to the care and honing of his blades as the leaders of their recently expanded group talked.
"We will scout the area near the caves, look for signs of travel," Garn curtly explained at one point, "That will give us ideas for the best route to approach, perhaps helps us estimate numbers and the like. I have no desire to walk into some undergorund fortress unawares."
“Nor do I, rrow’ka,” the kazari chuffed, not bothering, at first, to look up from the stone he ground purposefully over the edge of his worn falcata. He spat on the blade’s edge, then, and, running a thumb over the keen edge, at last, looked up from his work, fixing the big human with an even eye, “If you intend to scout, I would offer my assistance.”
"This sounds reasonable." Davena nodded, her eyes skimming the faces around the campfire. "So, will you be joining us?"
Ch’dau’s gaze ticked to Aranwen, first, then to Gib and, given their sanction, the Silver Cat added his own. Nodding as he returned his blade to its sheath and getting to his feet, he swallowed the last of his morning meal. “Let us be to it, then,” he rumbled, his blue-green eyes settling meaningfully on Garn, “Daylight is short enough, here, and the depths of a cave are all the less friendly in the night. I would see this done soon, Khr’a willing and Rrowl at our side.”
((OOC: A few assumptions made, here, of course. If there are any objections to following along with Garn and Davena’s plan and/or if there are any RP opportunities with discussion and such that take place, I will happily edit or add additional post(s) to address.))

Topic: Hidden Corruption Q&A Subject: Additional question...
...regarding Garn's scouting suggestion. Would Ch'dau's "hunting" NWP (or even "battle experience" ) be of any use, here, in determining numbers, etc? Also, does the cut on the throat of D'hurgen's priest give any idea as to whom might have inflicted the wound (I'm assuming Garn, of course, as Davena seems more the mana-slinging sort but, in the same breath, I'm thinking that Garn, given his build and obvious ferocity, might've taken the guy's head clean off)?

...le SQUEEEEEEE!
As soon as I ice my shoulder down, I'll get to work on a post (ol' Frank decided that chasing a squirrel was a good idea on our walk and darn near tore my arm off... ). I am, of course, assuming that we'll join Darling Davena and Grim Garn on their venture.
Also... Kazari are never undignified... sloppy and savage, sure.

Topic: Hidden Corruption Q&A Subject: Update
I've asked Olan to post by Saturday. If he can't, I'll NPC the DM and bump the story.
Spoiler alert: We destroy the section of the Ertain/Sendria border in the process of eliminating the undead menace and, in the aftermath, establish a new Kazari Khanate in the region, sparking a major war across Antaron. Aranwen and Davena get married, much to the chagrin of Garn. Gib and Cedric become the high priests of the Temple of the Tidy Cat. Kith is assigned as Mistress of Whispers and Princess of the Realm, first in line for the throne. Midge is granted an estate and towers in the newly formed country of Catalonia where he will eventually rise to Bug-Master of the Khanate, Feeder of the Slaa'kar.

.
.
.
I'm kidding, of course! Ch'dau wouldn't know what to do as Khan!

Topic: Capasha - Audalis Campaign Setting Subject: Notable Kazari
- Rrowl and Keziri - Believed among the clans to be the first of the Kazari people and progenitors of all those that came after. Legend has it that Khr’a anthropomorphized them from simple tigers shortly after she raised Capasha from the seas. Keziri was created first and Rrowl shortly thereafter to serve as her mate. It is possible that Rrowl and Keziri were not truly the first of the kazari and may not have actually existed, at all (at least under those names); given the reverence bestowed upon their names and memories, though, it would be impossible to convince a Capashan of this.
- Khan Fa’ur’qan - The first Kazari to unite several clans in a common cause. Fa’ur’qan is credited with leading these united clans in a campaign against the Slaa’kar, driving the lizard folk from the jungles and containing them in the Gabon’saa Marshes. The union of these clans, too, is thought to be the first true establishment of a khanate, thus making Fa’ur’qan the first Strakhan on Capasha. His legacy, in “modern” times, is the Ch’mbui Khanate.
- Bhak’chu - Bhak’chu, like Fa’ur’qan, is a legendary Kazari warrior of old; in fact, there are many legends that place him among the khans who committed their clans to Fa’ur’qan’s campaign against the Slaa’kar. If those legends are to be believed, however, one must also believe that, following the containment of the lizard folk in the marshes of Gabon’saa, Bhak’chu became jealous of Fa’ur’qan’s success and, on more than one occasion, challenged Fa’ur’qan for the position of Strakhan of the first khanate resultant of that campaign. Having challenged and lost to Fa’ur’qan on three separate occasions, Bhak’chu was figuratively emasculated and literally banished from the proto-Ch’mbui khanate. Humiliated, Bhak’chu, along with the few kazari who were still willing to follow him, migrated as far as he could from the Rashiik Wilds and established ranges for his clan in the Twilight Forest. While he is revered to this day as a great warrior among the kazari (underscored by the fact that an entire khanate still uses his name), his defeat at Fa’ur’qan’s hands is also the source of the common kazari expletive “T’ak Bhak’chu” (or “Bhak’chu’s Balls” ).
- Khr’dun N’ghali - A shaman of the Notched Ear Clan. Credited with the creation of the written Kazari language.
- Khatun Kalani - Current khatun of the Blessed Claw clan. Kalani is notable in that she is one of the very few Kazari to ever channel and utilize “arcane” magic (as opposed to the more druidic/divine sort utilized by most cat-folk shamans). She was the "runt of the litter," so to speak. Born last, small and physically weak as compared to her littermate(s). As such, she wasn't even expected to survive her youth, let alone thrive and advance through clan hierarchy as she did. Her lack of "physical prowess/presence" is more than made up for by her intelligence, cunning, and charisma. While she's not much of a toe-to-toe fighter, herself, she's a brilliant tactician/strategist and has been able to utilize these traits to defeat any opponents she's ever had to actually fight despite being physically outmatched. Again, despite her size, she's a very attractive and charming thing, capable of winning battles with words as opposed to weapons in many cases. This, combined with her other "exotic" traits have, thus far, landed her four "consorts," the support of her clan's shaman from an early age, and, of course, the position of khatun.
- Kh’ur Ch’dau - Ch’dau was a young warrior of the Stalking Ghost clan who, through circumstances that have yet to be revealed or explained, was taken from Capasha and found himself on Antaron’s shores. He was found, near death, on a beach in Coria by members of the Silver Wyvern mercenary company. He was nursed back to health by the company’s healers and befriended by Roddric Cliff, a ranking lieutenant. With no known way of returning to Capasha, Ch’dau joined and served in many campaigns with the Silver Wyverns and became known to many (friend and foe alike) as The Silver Cat of Coria. In his last campaigns with the Wyverns, Ch’dau was captured by Sendrian forces and held in a dungeon in Davnor for a time before being “rescued” by a half-sylvari thief named Kithran Aldeath. Ch’dau and Kithran became fast friends (if somewhat uneasily, at first) and have adventured together since their escape from Sendria. Sometime after their exploits in and outside of Sendria, the pair were recruited into a party led by Arancon Galandel, a Sylvari Bladesinger, and Moreno “Gib” Enderedre, a cleric of Therassor.
((Compiling a list of kazari who are notable in the history of Capasha and/or Antaron. "Sourcebook" updated, as well.))
