Topic: Game of Thrones S8 *SPOILERS*
Subject: Yeah...

...it was a bit of a "lackluster" ending, imo, but the way they wrapped it up did make sense, I suppose.

My favorite bits:

  1. Sansa becoming Queen of the North (and the north keeping it's independence) - Couldn't stand the girl in the first few seasons but, given all she's endured and the way she matured, she totally EARNED her ending.

  2. Jon being sent back to the far north as "punishment" for killing Dany - Total "peacekeeping" manuever, really, but puts him back where he belongs. The Night's Watch (and the Wall) have been rendered pointless so, him heading beyond where the wall used to be with the Wildlings in tow is a nice little wrap up for him. Kind of makes one wonder if he'll become a Mance Rayder sort of "leader" for the Wildlings. Also, I see they found enough $$$ in the budget for him to finally give Ghost the "good boy" pat he deserved.

  3. Arya sailing off on her new "quest" to find out what's west of Westeros -  That's a spin-off I'd be interested in more than the "prequel that takes place thousands of years before GoT," that they've got in the works.

  4. Tyrion becoming "Hand of the King" AGAIN... Where else would he end up? That's been his job for almost the entire series. I mean, he drinks and he knows things, what better job for him?

In regards to this comment, Tann: "Arya Stark, dies. Why: One of the Starks has to die to make the episode that much more intense and as the last season and considering how many fans love her it makes sense. Her dying will be one of the most heart wrenching scenes of the series not since the red wedding."

I refer you back to my post on page 1 of this thread: "... If Arya dies, I'm going Nyx and killing EVERYONE!!!"

Furthermore, I belive Geroge R.R. Martin's wife specifically told him that if Arya dies she's divorcing him... I think "No One" is safe.

Topic: Avengers Endgame
Subject: My predictions

  • Captain America - dead (Bucky becomes the new Cap)

  • Iron Man - Dead or retired (War Machine takes over the Iron Man role... or Pepper becomes Rescue)

  • Captain Marvel - new "Leader" of the Avengers or heads back into Space with GotG

  • Thor and Valkyrie - leave to "rebuild" Asgard

  • Hawkeye/Ronin and Black Widow - retire and/or go off together to start a new life together (or end up dead)

  • Ant Man, The Wasp, and Spidey - become full fledged Avengers

  • Hulk - becomes "The Professor" (Hulk's brawn/Banner's brains)

  • Vision and Scarlet Witch - Same as MoHawkeye and Black Widow (reunite/retire/disappear back to Scotland, perhaps)

  • Thanos -Nearly wins AGAIN but is finally defeated or switches sides when a "new" Big Bad (Galactus or Adam Warlock/The Magus, maybe?) shows up.

Just guesses, here, really... but couuuuuuuuld happen.

...for having an opinion.

Heck, there's plenty of characters I don't care for that seem to be "fan favorites"... Danerys and Jon, for example. I liked them both well enough in the early seasons but, as the show progressed, they started being more irritating than entertaining (same in the books). Tyrion and Arya, though, I've enjoyed since the beginning... Arya because her journey was NEVER the standard for a Westerosi "lady" and Tyrion because... well... he's hysterical!

Feel free to write Thren out or replace him. I've got nothing and/or no time to come up with anything for, at least, the next six weeks.

Oh no! I  me some GoT! That said, though, I was reading the books loooooong before the HBO series was ever a thing and, as such, have been waiting for the last book or tow for as long or longer as the show has been airing. I want the BOOK version of the end before I get the TV version.

I remember, as a kid, the first time I saw "mustaches" used in print (can't remember exactly what I was reading, tbh) I thought the same thing... "how many do they have?" ... then I started running into words like "mustachios" and the like, too, and realised, "hey... it's all the same thing!"

English, man... Friggin' english.

It is difficult not to compare and admire, especially when you come across someone's work that just makes you go ... just don't let the admiration and comaprison ever make you feel "less than."

Subject: What Brom said!

Don't ever judge your art by the work of others. Art/creativity is a very personal thing at it's core... it comes from inside of you and no one else. That's your expression, your idea, and it's GREAT regardless of what the works of other folks look like.

I mean, I get it... I sometimes wish I could crank out a piece as quickly as Brom seems able to, and I envy the man's skill in certain aspects, but there's no way my work will ever look like his (nor that his will look like mine) because we're two different people with different styles, approaches, and experience levels... and I'm okay with that!

You just keep on doing you, Dragon-Soul... and we'll keep looking and going "Oooooooooh! That is COOOOOOLLLL!!!"
