Topic: Helloooooo Subject: 4d2?
Hmmm... I rolled a six... (or, I guess I should say I flipped a six since I don't think that 2 sided dice actually roll, do they? I mean, unless you put 'em on edge and roll 'em kind of like a tire, right? But that's just assuming that when you say "two sided dice" you're referring to coins of the roundish variety... I mean, what happens if you live in a country where the coins are square or triangular?)... So, yeah... I flipped a six... *nods* Does that mean you get six facelicks? *griiiiiiiins... ka-sproing, ka-pounce*
Welcome to the Inn, 4d2... be you either a coin or 'not the droid I'm looking for' matters very little... we hope to see you around for a long time to come.

Welcome to the Inn, Redrat! Since all these others have covered most everything else, I guess I can let ya get to putting one of those towels to use, eh?
Glad to have you aboard... Here's hoping that you stick around.

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: How to explain this?
It's not an easy thing to pin down, really, and I wrestled with the decision quite a bit, myself, before making it...
A good part of the reasoning behind my decision can be attributed to the fact that I've been far from "reliable" in my posting over the course of the past several months (starting even before work and other RL concerns swept me off into oblivion for a while) and that has made me feel horrible. Loving Rocinante the way I do - I can honestly say it's been one of the most enjoyable games I've ever been in - I can't let myself be responsible for dragging its progress down, any longer.
Another part of the puzzle is that I've rather "lost track" of Sam, I'm afraid... This last bout of RL wrestling kicked my creativity directly in the cajones and jostled quite a few of my characters out of my head (or me out of theirs, as the case may be) and, try as I might (and I have tried, I promise) I just can't seem to write for any of them to my satisfaction, recently... and if I'm not content with the posts I write, I can almost guarantee that no one else concerned would enjoy the reading of them much more.
I guess what it comes down to is that I need to defrag and reboot my brain, in a manner of speaking... Knock of the rust, brush off the dust, sort out the clutter, and put everything back in its place so that I can find it again... I've just recently started to have a little success with that, actually, but it's still sort of a slow, creeping process. Until I can be quicker about translating thought to paper/post, though, I'd prefer to just step back and let things flow without Roger (or any of the rest of you) having to wonder if/when I'm going to post.
I do apologize for stepping aside but I can't, in good conscience, keep hanging on only to drag things down for the rest of you.

Topic: RPG Myth Breakers #6 - Crouching Tiger, Creeping Undies Subject: Fantabulous!
I almost gave myself a wedgie from laughing so hard! The names of the moves - "Salesman Jumps the Fence," "Dr Scholl's Special" - the anguished look on poor Al's face, and the request for a crowbar and skin cream... Haven't laughed that hard in I don't know how long.
Thanks, Al, Brom, and Olan. Great to see Mythbreakers go "full time".

...I think having a ninja name would be a conflict of interests.
If it wasn't, though, I'd be Riki-Tiki-Tavi of the Mongoose Clan.

Topic: Debate: Spell Immunities Subject: Gotta agree... with all of the above
I've always valued the overall story, with all its plot-twists and shock moments and such, over strict adherence to the rules, myself... they're not so much rules as guidelines, anyway...
If it was my paladin in the situation described above (given the presumed foreshadowing and whatnot) I don't think I'd decide to go all "rules lawyer" about him being possessed by this particular book because, hey, what a great story that turned out to be, right?
(Hack and slashers might feel differently, of course)
So, yeah... Use the book!!!
By the same token, though, things like this shouldn't be common place by any means... that's just mean.

Yup, yup... we're back up and running. Just a little server hiccup that the boss was quick to reset for us. Everyone can let the panic go, now.
Coffee's on, I've got my toeses in it, and it should be green within the next few minutes. Help yourselves, Innmates.
Happy Tuesday!

Topic: Chronicles Role-Playing System Subject: Finally...
...managed to work my way through everything you've got here, Skari, and I have to agree that it's definitely an interesting system (and the setting looks to be promising, as well)...
The one small (almost microscopic) issue that I might have with any of it is the "Traits" vs "traits" bit. I get the concept, of course, just think that distinguishing between the two with a capital T vs a lowercase t might get confusing somewhere along the line. Maybe identifiers such as "Prime Traits" and "Lesser/Minor Traits" would be a tad clearer?
My opinion only, of course, and, as I said, it's just a very tiny nit-pick. Otherwise, fantastic work! I'd love to see this play-tested.

Finally got some of the wet stuff here in Ohio, yesterday. It was a welcome respite from the oppressive heat and humidity we've been broiling under these last weeks. Here's hoping that the rest of you who could use a drop or two get it very soon.
Article on Audalis' aquatic elves is coming along quite nicely... with any luck, I'll have it all but done before the day is over.

Topic: Legends of Audalis Subject: Wow!
I can see where the judges would have had a difficult time choosing just one winner from that batch of submissions! Great... no... FANTASTIC work from everyone who participated. I greatly enjoyed and was aptly fascinated by each and every article....
Soooo... congratulations to Celeste for the winning article, of course, and congratulations to the rest of you for the spectacular submissions that, undoubtedly, will become Audalis cannon right along side that winning entry. Beyond congratulations let me also offer thanks for all of your hard work and sensational expansion of the Inn's signature setting! You're all worthy of a win and a prize in my books.
