Topic: New Homebrew Class--Martial Artist Subject: Nice!
At first blush, I'd say this is a great alternative to the existing 3.5 Monk which, admittedly, is a bit overpowered... (And I love the monk concept so take that for what it's worth)... Tones the monk down but keeps the cool factor, I think, of the "guy/girl who's not afraid to wade into a room full of heavily armed and armored enemies with little more than a loincloth and a stick he/she found outside and come out, in the end, looking and feeling better than any of those walking tanks".
Not sure that I concur with the Lawful requirement being lifted, though... In my mind, the Lawful element attributed to the Monk class was a nod to following the "Laws of the Order" to which they had committed themselves... without the "laws" of the order (i.e. the regimented discipline imposed on them whilst being instructed in the "ways of the order")... Without the discipline/law, the system isn't truly 'learned', is it? *shrugs* Just my opinion/interpretation, I suppose... I do like the class overall, of course... Very well thought out.

I gave you my feedback via PM, of course, but wanted to throw out some sparkly "public support," anyway. Keep it up, Chessic. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

The same one that keeps chirping on about how sucky of a player I've managed to become of late?
I say we grab yon birdy by the beak and squeeeeeeeeeeeze...
Of course, with my luck, it'd be a zombirdy and I'd wake up a maggot farmer.

Topic: Loaded Dice #63: The Final Battle (Part Three) Subject: Oh, Jhim...
...did you not read CWWLLO and see what happened to Jal when he went charging into combat?
My kinda mage, that Jhim.
Also, kudos Annick and Olan... Annick's 'style' is starting to work itself in more comfortably, it appears... Olan's locking down his colorizing abilities... all in all, the strip seems to be 'settling in' under the auspices of the 'new' creative team and showing it, too. Well done!
Now, someone send me a rum or seven so I can get through the rest of this ridiculous work day and get on to things that are more important... Like posts and such.

Topic: AMC's The Walking Dead Subject: Wait...what???
I thought Secret Window did have a happy ending... Johnny seemed happy, anyway.
And, yeah... hard to pull spoilers from the comics, now, what with the shifting of certain events, introductions of characters that (to my knowledge, anyway) have yet to appear in the graphic novels, etc... Some things you know they're not going to change too much because it'd take too much away from the story to do so and some characters you know are definitely going to become chow before others but, to take a read through of even the issues I've read and try to predict from that what's going to happen next in the series... pretty much not a doable thing at this point... which I'm loving, actually.
EDIT: Also thought the zombie "gang-beating" was awesome (and Meri's joke about it all the more so) and, on a related note, Daryl's "...it's gotta be the brain! Don't you people know anything..." comment was probably the most overlooked bit of hilarity, thus far...

Topic: AMC's The Walking Dead Subject: That's the point, really...
The show's not so much about the zombies as much as it is the people that are still living. Non-stop-action-perpetual-zombie-hordes-assailing-the-characters is great for a 90 minute movie or something but try and make a series that focuses on the zombies as the "important" part of the thing and I'd be willing to bet that it wouldn't last three episodes.
I mean, if you focus on the zombies, all you've really got is a bunch of rotting, flesh eaters staggering around... It might be exciting for a while but, after a few 'victim of the week' installments you're gonna yawn out. To make the series 'mean anything' the focus has got to be on the survivors and how they deal (or not) with what's become of their suddenly and drastically changed world... and what becomes of them as they move through it... The zombies aren't going to change... The survivors are... and that's the whole premise, I think. This last episode is a perfect example, IMO...

Also, gotta agree with Meri, Boondock Saints is MAJORLY EPIC! The rest of Mr Reedus' resume, though... well, lets' just say I can't claim to have seen a lot of the flicks/tv series he's been in.

Topic: AMC's The Walking Dead Subject: Reedus
Most notably, in my opinion, anyway, you might remember him from the Boondock Saints movies. Also Blade 2, Mimic, 8mm, Cadillac Records (I think)... nothing anyone would consider "major" I suppose... *shrugs*

Topic: AMC's The Walking Dead Subject: I wondered that, too...
The only explanation I could come up with was the relatively "late start" of the series and, maybe, the fact that they only went with six just in case it flopped? *shrugs*
Could have something to do with the time involved in getting all those zombies through the make up chairs on shooting days, too... I dunno... maybe next season will stretch out to 12... we can always hope, anyway.

Topic: Corrupt a wish Subject: Granted....
Pyro's karma did, in fact, reverse itself. Unfortunately, it happened as a one time fluke on the dreaded 'Backwards Day' and, whilst it was in effect, it seems, someone applauded him twice... This, of course, had the unfortunate effect of making Pyro 33/3 once Backwards Day was over. On the plus side; straight threes!!!
Ummmmm.... a wish...a wish... hmmmm....
Oh!

Always nice to have another voice to input into these discussions, you know.... not to mention a zombie fan...
You know what I found weird about the "outgoing" traffic from the city? The fact that they were outgoing... wasn't Atlanta supposed to be a "safe haven?" Why were folks leaving? Hmmmmm.....

Entirely possible, Bri...
I get that whole "I love your accent! Where are you from?" thing, quite a bit... and I usually go; "What accent?"
Could be that us Innmates have a dialect/lingo/lexicon all our own and, aside from others commenting on it here and there, we don't even realize it... *shrugs*... stranger things have happened...
But... that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.

Good work, again, O' ye artists and wordsmiths... I particularly like the way Steve looks in that last panel... I've imagined Olan assuming that very posture more than once as he was updating Zombies in Chicago.
Keep it up, folks... and we'll keep following along.
