Don't panic... I was just kidding about having a post ready, anyway.

I've got the start of one, of course (likely to be a 'backpost' part following Flirty's update), but it's nowhere near 8 pages... Maybe a half a page at best, right now.

p.s. I blame DA for my impatience... it was she who 'seeded the idea' for the Spider character in the first place... thanks DA.

Last time I took that route (if I remember correctly, anyway) we went Ohio>Michigan>Canada....looooong drive through Canada...>and back into the states near Ogdensburg, NY. Much longer drive than the usual Ohio>Pennsylvania>NY jaunt but fun all the same.

P.S. Once I've pinched Roger and Cathy, I may even tweak Will and Miss V, as well.

"Do the monkey with me, momma! C'mon!"

Loved that cartoon for some reason.

Anyway, it does appear that there's a slot for Chief Engineer aboard the Cerberus available... and, since we are Federation Starships here, I'm sure that there are other slots we could slip you in to if ENG isn't your thing.

Of course, I still need to get off my butt and get a post for Mac in so we can get this thing moving again... Trying to motivate, I swear... just ahven't had much success yet. *sigh*

Sent the finalized sheet to Flirty just moments ago and, as long as she's good with it, I'm officially ready to get Spider into some trouble... one way or another.

Game wise, just waiting for another post or so before i get Spider running of at the mouth, again... if the group at the table is 'comfortable' with Spider turning in all their names to Needlemire, he'll be hapy to do so...

My favorite part of any game, I must say.

Looks like there's plenty of material to work with where that's concerned, too... good stuff thus far, folks... let's keep it going.

Now... I heard something about a lame bard limping towards Needlemire's with a tree lodged in his hand, didn't I? *grins at Kae* I reckon he could sing for his supper there and, as drunk as we're all apt to be, we wouldn't even notice the ouchie!

As long as we're (meaning the people in the tavern) are within earshot of each other, I guess it all works. That's the assumption I'm going on since it appears that we've all spoken to each other (one way or another) to this point... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Topic: The Return of the Prodigal Son
Subject: Oh shoot... I was here on a job wasn't I?

I love you, Tristan. Always you and only you.

Had he died, right there and then, it would have been as a happy man, even though the moment, to him, still seemed as if it had been plucked from a dream. He lingered in that kiss for a long moment and, when he could finally convince himself to pull away even in the slightest, Tristan still found himself lost in the exploration of her face, content in allowing himself to drown in those liquid emerald eyes. “I love you, too, Darlthenia,” he whispered, smiling softly as his fingertips drifted across her cheek, “as I always have.”

For a long while, it seemed, Tristan could do little more than smile and look at Darli – there were thousands of questions to ask her, thousands of things to tell her, thousands of lost kisses to return, and all of them seemed to be colliding in a chaotic jumble in the very center of his mind. Where have you been, was the first question that he thought might have fashioned itself into some sort of vocalization, Why couldn’t I find you? Before the words could form, though, he heard a somewhat amused chuckle and a voice from very close by…

“I’ll have what he’s having,” the voice snickered.

“I don’t think there is anymore of that,” a female voice chuckled softly in reply, “not exactly, that is.”

Dammit! The job!

Spider had let the moment sweep him away, take him far from the professionalism – such as it was – of his trade and wash him up on the shores of some far away paradise. He had completely forgotten the job and where he was and what it was he was supposed to be doing here. A very dangerous thing to let happen in your line of work… Spider, he chastised himself.

He didn’t release his grip on Darli, however. No, he had waited far too long to hold her again, and that wasn’t something he was keen on doing at the moment. Instead, he turned his eyes, once again, to the table and offered a somewhat apologetic smile to the group. “Excuse me,” he grinned, “it’s just been a long time since I’ve seen this lovely lady…” his eyes flicked back to Darlthenia for a second and his smile brightened all the more; “…a lifetime, it seems, but… I suppose… our reunion will be long in the making, won’t it?” He kissed her quickly on the lips, again, pulled her close, and turned his gaze back to the table.

“This conversation,” he said, forcing himself to focus on the job at hand, “before it was so pleasantly interrupted, had to do with…ah… business, shall we say?

The poster, m’lady,” he said to Amiri as he settled himself into an empty chair at their table, pulling Darli onto his lap as he did so, “says little more than to ask the bartender should you be interested in undertaking this investigation into the missing beggars, hereabout. Now,” the Shadowblade smiled, his lithe fingertips feathering the small of Darli’s back as he leaned forward, “by way of saving you a chat with old Needlemire, he’ll tell you that there’s quite the reward being offered and, should you be interested, provisions and some supplies can be provided, along with accommodations at this fine establishment until such time as a sufficient party has been put together.”

His roguish gaze danced from face to face and one corner of his mouth curled into an almost wolfish grin; “Sounds to me like quite the opportunity to make a bit of profit and perhaps some notoriety, eh? I’d say we’ve got, at least the starts of a decent party, right here… What say, ladies and gents? Shall we pool our resources… I’ll take all of our names to the barkeep, myself, and secure us our lodgings, right now…”

((OOC: A little nudge forward, I suppose… Spider is still more interested in Darli than anything else, of course, but he does have a job to do (don’t we all?) and, so, is trying to bring this group together, so to speak… for the mission or for his own designs, though, hmmmmm? ))

Topic: What is your Favorite Character Class and Why?
Subject: Awwww make me choose why don't ya!

If I had to pick just one, I guess I'd have to go with the rogue (thief) classes in any edition. Partially because of the reasons Grugg spelled out but primarily because the rogue types are just so freakin' fun to play.

My first D&D character ever was a thief, in fact... his name, etc, don't really matter since it was my first character and first game ever, you see, he died a quick and admittedly stupid death... always,ALWAYS take the time to check for traps.

Rangers and monks follow very closely behind... again, in any edition.

Subject: Kay-o!

Glad I read all of that, I might've been confused...

Brianna - Yes Tristan (Spider) is the one who approached the table and was/is being smooched by the 'barmaid' (Darlthenia). As far as I'm aware, Amiri, Khalessian, Ulfgar, and Velkyn (???) are at the table... Tristan and Darli and standing right by the table having their 'reunion'... everyone else - Asheera, Pannon, Vaskar, and Jharven - have yet to arrive at the tavern (Needlemire's Nest (?)). That should bring us up to speed... if I missed anything or put someone out of place, lemme know.

Posting soon...

Topic: Q&A: The Return Of The Prodigal Son
Subject: Based on the 'location updates'...

...The other female elf in the tavern (aside from Darlthenia and Amiri) would be Velkyn Moonshine (Silent One). Fellow 'at the bar' might either be Khalessian or maybe Ulfgar... I think Ulfgar is at a table, though, being hovered over by a pair of thieves what's smoochin' on each other.

"Gol-ding point-ears," the Firedancer grumbled, "Take your hanky panky elsewhere... You're slobbering on my food!"

Based on the initial posts, I kind of thought that most everybody was already in the tavern and gathered (at least 'loosely') in the same area; hence my references to the 'group at the other table'. *shrugs* Guess I just misperceived where everyone was... my fault.

P.S. Just some random thoughts as far as a name for the tavern... "The Rusty Nail," "The Randy Ogre," "Needlemire's Nest," "The Sullied Swan"... Just thoughts... use as you will.

Good posts all around, people... we've hardly gotten started and already I'm wondering what might happen next.

One thing though... Having just read DMs latest, I'm starting to think that there aren't as many of us in the Tavern as I originally thought/posted. Are Panon and Asheera still at the Temple?

Just checking... maybe Spider is going crazy and imagining people.

Tann buddy,

Not to make an issue of it or anything but I didn't say a thing about anybody's posts being too graphic, thank you merry vuch sssssiiiiir!

What I said - in reply to a comment about who might be the first to backpost a gratuitous sex scene - was; Not I. (Paraphrasing, of course.) Did I profess to never get graphic? Nope. Did I say that I don't swear or perhaps post hints and allegations? Nope. Never said that I wouldn't write on an 'adult' level and/or hint at what might happen next or might've happened last night, at all. What I said was that I wasn't going to post a 'gratuitous sex scene' on the forums, is all...

Dash's post, while maybe a bit crude (it's in the character traits, y'know), is far from what I'd define as gratuitous sex.
