Hmmm.... I figure I can work up a Khord rogue for ya, O Toady type King dude! Dwarves I haven't done much but rogues are a 'stand by' for me... probably help in pulling the character together faster, as well... Have a sheet for you in the next day or so.

Topic: A Cold Day in Hell Q&A Subject: A better Kane?
I'm flattered that you think so, Tann but, hey, I thought you made a perfectly fine SSgt... My big problem is going to be keeping Kane acting like a Ranger and not a Jarhead.
Anyhoo... I think I've 'caught up' and have a handle on our current situation... gonna hang back and let one or two others post before I jump in with both booted feet, though. El-Tee said take a fiver and that's what Kane's doin' as of now... chillin' with the SAW and hopin' nothin' flinches.

BTW 'Detective' Alex Sharpe is all but done, just need to write up a nifty little narrative to 'get into the guy's head' and I'll be ready to roll... no pun intended.

Topic: Witchcraft rpg Subject: Meri
The Necromancy Skill is bought at a cost of 2 points per level until level 5, and 5 points per level thereafter.
Each Necromantic element is purchased as a separate power, at the cost of 3 points per level until level 5, and
6 points thereafter. This price must be paid for each power; it is perfectly possible to have Death Speech at
level 5 and Death Control at level 2, for example. Beginning characters can choose between buying relatively
low power levels in all four Necromantic elements, or specializing in one or two of them at high levels.
This is on pg 237 of the rulebook... basically if you want 2 levels of the Necromancy skill (which seems to be a pre-req for the other necro skills) it'll cost you 4 points at character creation... post CC it'll cost 5 points per level.
Does that help?

Topic: Witchcraft rpg Subject: You remember that one, too?
Good ol' Alejandro... *smiles*... that was a fun character and game, too. You're right that this has the same kind of feel to it... and my brain's been churning it over since I saw the recruitment. And then you read through the rulebook and all those short stories and such... *shudders*...
Soooo,I've been playing with a character idea already...

Heck! If I've read these rules correctly, you can be one! The Bast "class" or character type is pretty much exactly that.
Now how cool would it be to play an alley cat character? *grins*

Topic: Witchcraft rpg Subject: There's also a generator of sorts...
Found a program called the Uniforge which supports character creation for Witchcraft and other Unisystem RPGs.
If you want to read up on it before you download, check out the UniForge website
For those who want to 'skip to the download'...
You can find the Macintosh version of UniForge here:
http://www.devermore.net/UniForge/UniForge.sit
The Windows version is here:
http://www.devermore.net/UniForge/UniForge.zip
Still helps to download and read the rules before using it to create a character (makes much more sense that way )but it does seem to keep nice track of things... Nice, tidy character sheet.

Good stuff, Skari! Do keep us posted as to progress would ya?
Quick question... do you pencil and paper your characters and scan them in, then add color, backgrounds, and effects in photoshop (or whatever)? Or is all of that done in photoshop from start to finish?

You're still without power? Geez-o-lou! What are they waiting for? Wednesday?
I figured they'd have power back to your area PDQ, to be honest, what with you being so close to downtown and such. Surprising that your area seems to be one of the last hereabouts. You guys need anything? A hot meal? A hot shower? Whatever? Let me know... you're always welcome at my place.

Topic: Generic Game Give-and-Take Subject: Hmmmm...
...so what you're suggesting is what exactly? A 'repository thread' of some sort where general rules and resources are listed, maintained, tracked, etc or am I missing a point or two somewhere in there?
Granted, a thread with links, references, write-ups, and such might be quite useful but could also grow quite lenghty and possibly out of control in a relatively short amount of time. There was a point where you said "Information posted here would (and should) be applicable to most, if not all, games here at the inn, whether meant for DMs/GMs or players."
With that statement/thought in mind, I don't see where it would be possible to consolidate even 'general' info that would be applicable to ALL the games here at the Inn... There are at least three different versions of just the D&D rules being played (2.5, 3, and 3.5), then you've got house rules that the individual DMs/GMs, gaming groups may use, not to mention completely home grown systems or some 'frankensteining' of systems that kind of defy applying 'general' rules/resources/references where these kind of systems may be concerned.
Now, havign said that, the Inn does have a plethora of resources, references, and other things of that nature available... they're just not consolidated in a single thread. There's the DMs Corner, for example, where DMs might go to find information they might need, and the Player's Guild in which Players can browse through all sorts of things that they might find relevent... both of these corners of the Inn are always open to accepting new article submissions from anyone out there who'd care to submit... Also, there are teh Q&A threads for the individual games, and the General Forums (particualrly the Common Room) where questions the like of those you mentioned should be able to be asked and addressed without fear of being made to feel silly, etc.
As you noted, some folks may have an abundance of gaming info at hand and available to share, some have 'just enough' to carry them through the games/systems they're interested in, and others have absolutey nothing but a vivid imagination and a willingness to play. With that range of resources and experience, it's not too uncommon that you get groups consisting of players and GMs representative of alllllll three and, in cases like those, you're bound to get 'silly questions' whether you're a DM or a player.
Anyway... as I said, I'm not sure I'm 100% clear on exactly what you're suggesting here, so I might have gone off on a completely unrelated tangent... my apologies if so. Sooooo, feel free to jump in and clarify or turn me in the right direction.

Honestly, I'm a big fan of this adventure, myself, and would love to continue... I just think it'll take more commitment and time than I've got to give at the moment, sad as that is to say.
