Subject: Amen...

...now if I can just manage to "stay home" more than I roam for a while, I'll be exceedingly happy and content.

Ed Kowalczyck tonight at the Greene, for me... Looking very forward to that concert. If you're in the neighborhood, why not meet me there? We can dance and sing and lick faces and stuff.

Good morning, Innmates!

Topic: Wikipedia Scavenger Hunt
Subject: M'kay... let's see if I've got this...

The 'random article' I started from was Hugh Pugh (fictional character)... "Hugh Pugh is a news reporter for the fictitious Look Out Wales reports featured on comedy sketch show Barry Welsh is Coming. He is played by Welsh comedian, John Sparkes, and his name is a parody of Welsh names in general."

From there I went as follows:

1) Fishguard (a coastal town in SW Wales from which Hugh Pugh reports, apparently)

2) Herring (linked in the section re: Fishguard's Economy, referencing a herring fishery)

3) Trout (from the 'table' at the bottom of the herring article listing "Principal commerical fishery species groups")

Not too bad, I guess... From Hugh Pugh to Trout in 3 clicks... *shrugs*

How about we try "roe" next?

Iiiiii dunno... I suppose the metaphors could be seen that way to a certain extent but, overall, I think there's more of a philosophical turn to them, somehow.

Again, very well done, my friend.

Another heartwrencher from one of our beloved Innmates... I can hardly stand it.

Beautiful work, Princess... Like Chess's recent postings, this one kind of grabbed hold of my heart and squeezed it a bit... I love it when a poem does that. +1

That said, having read all of these poems regarding the pain of loving and/or being loved, here's hoping that, at some point, all of you heartbroken heroes find a love somewhere that is lifting as opposed to lamentable, yes?

If nothing else, Eol loves you all!

Probably not the exact right word, there, but, as others have said already, both pieces were very moving, Chess. Each evoked a bit of "misery" counterbalanced with a touch of "faith," I think... A candle in the dark kind of thing, perhaps?

Keep it up, mate... Always love to see stuff like this and have my emotions stirred by what you other Innmates come up with... well done.

I suppose the Ultimate Newbie deserves the Ultimate Facelick in all actuallity... I'm just not sure that there's a true difference between an ultimate facelick and a normal one... ... I mean... Just look at the way your face is shining, now! Does it get much better?

Welcome aboard, Princess. So very glad to have you in our fold!

I'm sure your lovely wife will tell you that this is long overdue, good sir. You have my apologies for the delay and for the excessive moisture that you're about to experience... *snicker*... Okay... Maybe I'm not exactly sorry about the excessive moisture... That's why they hand out towels these days, right?

I am sorry about the delay in welcoming you, though... With all the dry faces around here, I'm surprised that folk haven't started cracking!

What's the towel for, she asks? Have I been away that long?

Wait... Don't answer that... I feel bad enough about it already...

Anyhoo... Ready with that towel, Jing? Here we go...

Now that that's out of the way (this time, anyway), let me take a moment to say thanks for taking over the artwork on Loaded Dice... Fantastic job... ... here's hoping that you stick around for a while, hmm?

I'd love to stay and chitty-chit-chat but I'm so very behind in my facelicks that I must be off for the moment. (Some folks hereabouts will tell you that I'm "off" all the time... and they wouldn't be wrong I suppose... ) Here's hoping I get to catch up with you later... Until then, I'm always looking forward to the next installment of LD.

Toodle-pip and all that.

Tongue-tied, I'm short of breath, don't even try
Oooh, try a little harder
Something's wrong, you're not naive, you must be strong
Oooh, baby try
Hey girl, move a little closer
You're too Skye, Skye
Hush, hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush

Modern medicine falls short of your complaints
Oooh, try a little harder
You're moving in circles, won't you dilate
Oooh, baby try
Hey girl, move a little closer
Cause, you're too Skye, Skye
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush, eye to eye
Too, Skye, Skye
Hush, hush

You can use that towel, now, Skye.

Forgive my belated welcome, would ya? I might be late but I'm awful happy you're here nonetheless.

~Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
You fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

For the morning sun in all it's glory
Greets that day with hope and comfort too
You fill my life with laughter
And somehow make it better
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
There's a love that's divine
And it's yours and it's mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray
To the one, to the one

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
You fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do~

Thanks for thinking about me, Innmates! For what it's worth, I've missed all of you terribly, as well, and, as of today, will be doing my best to keep the "disappearing acts" to a bare minimum and when/if they do occur (gods forbid), I'll do my very best to keep them super short and do a better job of at least updating my family, here, as to my status.

You guys are all fantastic and I love you all dearly... Hugs all around and, once I've downed a tub or two of 'froth and slosh' and am suitably salivated, the facelicks will commence anew!

Glad to be back!

!!!!

This has got to be my one "must watch" show on TV/Cable/Satellite, these days... (Aside from "The Walking Dead" of course.. still can't stand that I'm actually waiting for Season 2 to come on rather than storming the production company and stealing a watch a la Fanboy...)

I will agree that the series can't hold a candle to the books but that seems to be the case with any "paper to screen" transition. The books just imbue so much more detail and history that can easily go unnoticed in the screen presentation, you know? All that aside, I think that HBOs series has done due justice to the first book, at least. They might have done a better job of alluding to the passage of time between episodes/events and, of course, in the books, a good number of the characters are a bit younger than what they're represented as being "on screen" (a discrepancy, given some of the situations, that I'm honestly grateful for), but, all-in-all, the series is fantastic!!!
