Dude, that sucks... I know the anxiety that a missing pet can cause. My own cat had a habit of disappearing quite regularly but, he was born a 'barn cat' and that wasn't unusual... when he was gone for more than 2 days without checking in for food or a nap, though, I still got antsy about where he might have gotten to.

Anyway, I hope yours comes home soon and in good shape. Keeping out the good vibes for ya.

That last one was perfect... gave me a little bit to work with for Sam.

Mentioned elsewhere that it's been a busy week for me at both work and home, hence my delay in posting anything other than the quick snippet here and there, should have a chance to catch up soon, I hope.

Been a busy week at work and at home for me, folks, sorry for the slow down in my posting. Brain fried and good posts don't often go together in the same bundle, do they? I'll get something out there as soon as I can.

Concurred that Blammm does, in deed, rock the house character-wise. Addition to the party... yup... he'd be fantastic!

Character? Looks as if he's going the healer route so... yay for healing... what we really need, though, is a character who's a mana-fountain!

Hooo boy... ummmm... how many 'armor type' spells are there and can I stack the dickens out of 'em maybe? Won't be much use in combat other than to LIVE THRU IT!

Just PMd the new character sheet, in progress, your way for review Roger. Still got some stuff to flesh out but stats and such are mostly done...

Subject: Have you stay?

Absolutely, Ye Olde. Without a doubt or question, I'd love to keep you on board... I've played with you in a handful of games, already, and have always thought that your posts were top notch and that you're quite the gamer. Talon did what Talon has been known to do... and perhaps crossed the line due to the stress or 'scent of impending combat' or what have you... and so, ended up in the pokey. It happens... Happened to Mac a lot in his own career as has been mentioned... and for much the same reason.

Listen, folks, none of what's been said or done in game or here in the Q&A has been intended to hurt anyone's feelings, get your characters killed off, or anything of that sort, and if any of you, for one second, took it as such you have my sincere and humble apologies. All that was intended here was to nudge the game back on course as we were starting to wander off to a point that might have been a major plot buster... and the "Starfleet decorum" I was expecting from the IC nudges didn't quite pan out... The fault is as much mine as anyone elses for not keeping a 'better handle' on things. I'll be better about 'behind the scenes' communications from here on out.

Peace?

Friends?

Ahead; Warp 6?

Thanks all,
Eol

Topic: Star Trek: Operation:Persephone - Q&A
Subject: Clarification.

Bri - do I mind that Stan tried to close the MACOs out of the pod? No... you made a good assumption and whatnot there... Stan would want to be alone.

Do I mind that MSgt McQueen wants to report him? Not at all... I wouldn't expect otherwise in a situation like that. Now, of course, given the situation, the report may be 'reviewed' and a determination made that Stan simply acted in a panic and wasn't thinking clearly when he was closing the pod up (human instinct for self preservation, etc, etc... happens all the time in RL disaster situations)... Stan would get a reprimand on his record, for sure, and possible other disciplinary action... no sweat.

Does it bother me that, with as implicitly stealthy as Stan was in his sabotage of the Cerberus, within 36 hours of the explosion that all of the sudden this nondescript and scarcely noticable engineer is suddenly under the microscope and is being all but directly accused of the sabotage and, as such, we've got military/starfleet personnel flying in the face of orders and just itching to crawl up Stan's keester to make sure that he doesn't go anywhere, ever, without somebody eyeballing him with overblown suspicion... Absolutley.

Does it bother me that we've got military/starfleet personnel behaving in a decidedly unmilitary/non starfleet manner? You bet yer bippy it does... I dare anyone to join up with any branch of the service in real life and try something like the out and out insubordination that we;ve been seeing here and think they'd get away with it... I did my own time in the Corps, folks, and I can tell you with no degree of uncertainty, that you'd be out on your keester muy rapido. A Marine ordered to return to the cargo bay and stand by had damn well better return to the cargo bay and stand by if they want to keep rank and freedom... not run to the cargo bay to make an appearnance and then decide that okay, stand by means that I can stand by where ever I please after I've returned to the cargo bay... ooo... there's the cargo bay... okay... off to sick bay I go. Won't fly in the real life military and won't fly in our 'make believe military' either.

Can you proceed with the 'hover around Stan' angle? Sure, but the consequences for that are far worse than anything the UCMJ would visit upon you for insubordination - can't say much more than that without blowing the whole plot and having to shut the game down all together, so we'll leave it there... Let's just say that, yes, Stan trying t shut the MACOs out of the pod was a 'bad thing' to do and, yes, there deserves to be some sort of formal complaint, etc, lodged against the man for it... however, that should be the extent of it... he doesn't need to be guarded by half a dozen MACO, Security, and/or TAC personnel... he's on an itty bitty starship (which is most likely on Yellow Alert anyway), currently stuck in sick bay where he's being monitored, etc... he's not going anywhere whether he's surrounded by Jarheads, Security, or anyone else for that matter.

Anyway, as I said, no fault with the whole Stan tries to shut MACO out of the pod bit... perfectly fine and good RP fodder, IMO... the insubordination and 'metagaming' stuff, however, is on a fast track to making this whole thing pointless and we kind of need to get back on track and play our military types as military types, not maverick gunslingers in the wild west.

Skin Jal? You are an imperial! of course, if anyone was gonna do it, I guess Dr Bob is the best choice.

BBQ Jal? Not much meat on those bones, Max... and what's there probably tastes alot like rat and gutter sludge...

Dudes! I thought we were friends!

Anyway, yes, I'll be back... and I'll even take a whack at another magic user just for you... Got a warlock in the works and, with the bits of info that Roger has provided, he should be lots of fun... this makes the second mage/wizard/whatever I've ever tried, maybe he'll do better than Jal.

Seriously, folks. The point of the 'command staff' orders (aside from the need for the command staff to be present on the ship, of course) is to 'steer' the story along it's plot line. If your character is ordered to do a,b, or c, there's probably a plot-driven reason for it...

Sooo, I say one more time - "consequences schmonsequences" aside - be careful of what your characters do 'in defiance' of orders, folks... I can count at least 3 PCs that are coming very close to being victims as opposed to the vindicators that they're trying to be.

P.S. Just so there's absolutely no doubt - and I really hate to be a hard-arse but kind of have no choice since we're coming very close to this whole thing being de-railed, thank you - "victim" = NPCd or dead, folks.

Yeah, that'd work out well... "Hmmm... I see that the last mage to accompany you died a horrible death..." *divine, divine, scry, scry* "I don't foresee myself falling to that same fate... primarily because I'm staying right here in Freegate where there are no bugs and the women don't try to kill you!"

FYI... working on character concepts for both the Savage Wizard and the Warlock... still haven't decided which one I like better... *shrugs*... Not going to be Jal, either way, but should still be an interesting sort... just less Spooky.

...or what?

Ignoring direct orders from superior officers? Doing what we want to anyway despite orders that have been given? Starting to feel like a regualr mutiny in the making hereabouts isn't it?

I appreciate that everyone is so enthusiastic about posting and that we all have our own ideas as to what our characters would/should do, etc, but, WOW! Just a friendly reminder to all concerned: each and everyone of our characters are Starfleet personnel or representatives of the Romulan Star Empire/Navy and, as such, should rightly be expected to conform to and comply with a cetain set of ethics and regulations... In other words, behave like military personel on a mission together and not runamok star pirates fighting for control of the ship and a bigger cut of the booty.

Now, having said that... Feel free to fly in the face of orders and/or crawl up Stan's keester just to make sure he doesn't do anything else if you like... just keep in mind that there will be consequences for such actions... icky, vile, nasty, and probably unexpected consequences, at that.

Also, I'm almost caught up with everything, now, and should have a post ready to go in the very near future.

However, with Talon having his knickers in a twist about security and Romulans in general, I'd almost be surprised if he didn't implement security lockdowns on the replicators that specified 'bread and water' only.

My point here is that you had half the length of a standard television commercial to get the CD and your crew from the centurion's quarters to an escape pod before the ship went boom...I seriously doubt that anyone would have even thought about saving the swords, let alone attempting it (when it's your life vs some antique which would you choose?)... we're lucky the cloak made it, to be honest.

...however, I'd guess the swords and S'Talon would have only made it as far as the first security detail that spotted a Romulan running down the corridor carrying a couple of swords. I would imagine that, given the level of suspicion towards teh Romulans, anyway, if a Sec detail had seen S'Talon hauling arse for an ASRV with some sharp pointy things that weren't his ears, the Romulan would've been phaser-ized and the swords would have clattered to the floor. End result's the same.

Here's a real world analogy... you're teaching a class full of six year olds and the fire alarm goes off, there's no drill scheduled for the day so, it's quite possible that the school is on fire and everyone needs to get out right-freaking-now! Do you let little Johnny make a trip to his book bag to grab his favorite Hot Wheels car before you hurry him outside to safety? Probably not... life before stuff and all that... how's it gonna fly with Johnny's mom and dad when they find out that their son's a cinder because he wanted to grab a 99 cent Hot Wheel, right?

Sorry.
