Romo without a moments hesitation brought up the .45 and double tapped two rounds into the guards face.....

Only to watch his first round graze the ear of the guard, and his second take the guard in his shoulder. As he was wondering how his aim could be so bad from a non moving sitting position he watched quietly as the guard in a semi-reflex action pulled the trigger of the MP-40. Micro seconds later the Sergeant felt a pain in his side telling him somehow one of the guards submachine gun rounds had found a place in his side.

As Romo moved quickly to stop the flow of blood he did not see Clements finish off the guard and jump out of the car on his way to engage the rest...............

For the kind words and thoughts Mom sends her thanks also.

For the moment Mom is home once more but facing two surgeries in the upcoming next 2 months. One for her back and one for her blander that I mistakenly thought was for her hip . As such I will try to get posts into the games where they are needed by the weekend.

Again thank you.

But actually we do have contests at various times its just rt now Olan and most of the staff, including myself, have been real busy with RL. Don’t you worry once RL slows down we will once more have a contest or two. Now as for debates well that’s a touchy area at times and all debate type questions would have to be submitted for staff approval first.

So yeah those idea’s are possible in the near future.

Hello Jen Welcome...........

Let me be another of the Inn’s Staff member’s to welcome you to our site. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn.

The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.

So again welcome its always nice to have new people come to us and I hope you’ll feel quite at home here and though this is the greeting I post to all newcomers do not feel that I am not glad to see a new person come to our home, far from it. Its just easier and quicker this way as we do get a lot of newcomers at times. So then If you have any questions about the site feel free, as Alacrity has already stated to PM myself or any other Staff member as needed.

Also here’s a towel, always keep it handy as Eol WILL lick you, however he sometimes forgets who he has licked and then licks again.

Subject: Jesus now your attacking us with BOOKS!!! LOL

As Maximus waited for Arien to pick which way the party would travel, the newest member of the party, the bard Flynn drew a pack of cards from a pouch at his side. Explaining their use of predicting the future, Flynn shuffled and placed the cards 1 by 1 until he had placed in all a crossed group of 7.

“That is very clear for a reading.” The bard remarked as he stood once more, “Wisdom and knowledge lies to the south while destruction and chaos await us to the east.”

“I’ll take Wisdom then over the chaos.” Arien finally spoke to all, “Dapple, check the door our host is leading us toward. Maximus – stand ready to open the door.”

With a nod of his head to the Knight Maximus did as he was asked and stood ready as the boy thief scanned and checked the door for traps. At his nod that the door was clear the big ex-gladiator stepped forward and quickly opened the door to reveal nothing more dangerous then row upon row of books. After a few minutes he felt very relaxed, in truth a feeling as he had not felt in remembered days, and was perhaps a little wary of the truth of such feelings. His vorpal held a little tighter, his shield ready before him, he intensified his awareness of his surroundings.

Now the big ex-arena fighter was not stupid, far from it, but he had never really had the chance to learn to read. Staying alive vs. foes seeking his death at least 3 times a week had taken priority. One day perhaps in his retirement, if he lived so long, he would learn however for the moment he had no real use for it.

It was these thoughts that were in his head as suddenly one of the books on the main desk opened, the pages flipped violently and the cover making a loud crash as it settled. The book now opened to about three quarters through it’s content. With no wind to cause it to do such and no one, at least visibly, close enough to touch the book it was clear to Maximus magic or spirits were involved.

Clearly he was not alone as Char thought so also as the ranger couldn't repress the startled jerk he made at the sound of the flipping pages, nor his involuntarily stepping back and away from the books resting place. With both of his swords raised up and ready he brought the matter to the dwarf Kilgim’s attention.

"Uh," Char mumbled apprehensively. "I tink i' be fer you, Kilgim."

However before Kilgim could reply or make a move forward the Bard Flynn beat him to it. Speaking and stepping towards the desk.

“No need for the blades, friend Char, tis only a book… Knowledge and wisdom as opposed to destruction and chaos, hm? Someone...or something... is trying to tell us something, I think…”

Maximus at first wanted to stop the Bard as Char had shortly before stopped him but something inside told him to let Flynn continue forward. Watching as the Bard showed his Thief side, Maximus continued to scan the places he could see for any lurking danger.........

Being someone who played Magic from its start at the Gen Con in MD, I had a great love of the game and cards and still own enough rare, super rare, full sets, and "oldie" cards to have a nice nest egg. At last count I think it was $4,000+ but I would have to check the newst mag .

Though I would still love to play I stopped buying the cards back around the late 90's so I am way out of date . However if I was still playing there a few cards labaled here I would love to have in my Heaven and Hell themed deck.

Keep them coming gentlemen

"By all means, man mountain, do go first, That blade of yours may save you for a time, and serve as the distraction we need to flank this thing we face. I, for one, agree with Char, though, we should at least verify what lies behind the door of our visions."

Maximus heard the boy’s words and though he knew the young lad spoke seriously could not help but smile at the under lying sarcastic tone. Turning to face him, Maximus gave the boy a nod of acknowledgement, seeing that once more Dapple seemed to be coming back to his old/young self.

The memories of wounds so recently sustained perhaps in the back of the boys mind for the moment........

I have sent him a few emails asking of him but have not had a reply so far so we may have go on without him.

Subject: Some added thoughts and a few questions

OK my first question is who is Meteor Sam as until now I was confused by which Sam you were talking about in relation to Kora. Does Wolf know him or of him?

Also about putting Bowmen down planet side don’t the people who went with us to get their new sheriff know that he took flight with us, what if they happen to mention him in passing. Putting him on planet could be dangerous if the Bitch has any knowledge of him.

Also we need to think about Ash as she knows he is a crewmate she could try to use him or kill him to stop him from helping us. We need to get a message to him and as he does not know Bowmen it would have to be another one of us.

Also as far as getting someone into the Mines that might be a job for me as I worked with them fixing their compressors and I’m sure Bailey, my former employer, could hide me and get me access to the mines themselves.

That also brings up a question or two of my own AL. What was the miner’s general feelings towards Bridgette and the way she treated them? Good, Bad, neutral could we maybe use them against her in some way. Also how did they feel about Wolf, would they be willing to hide him once he was in the mine itself.

Just some thoughts to help get us on our way......

Maximus listened to the talk of caution from Kilgim and Adrian but having not been touched in the last combat and angry over the spider creatures use of Jal’s image so uncaringly had no use for it.

“Bah let us just move forward and kill the evil thing, and if it be a trap we will make it a trap not for us, but for it, and any foe it may call to come before us!”

The huge ex-glad was more then willing to shed the creatures blood in gallons for daring to try and trick him with the image of his dead friend, a friend greatly missed.
Your time draws near creature I will bath in your blood this next eve.!

Maximus was sure he had just seen his dead friend Jal move from doorway to doorway and was moving to catch up when he found Char’s bow blocking his path.
For a moment the big ex-gladiator was of a mind to take the bow and snap it in half, but then Adrian’s words finally reached his brain.

"It appears something in this area has the ability to read our minds or at least peer into our memories. I know the man I saw to be dead, barring some unholy and extremely potent magical abilities. But yet he was one of the few Imperials I wholly and fully trusted. This appears to be a trap, or a bait of some kind. We should exercise extreme caution." The Mage declared.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself he nodded his thanks to the Ranger and resumed his place in front of the party......
