After the fight with the Bugbears the last thing Crow wanted was another fight, especially with more undead rodents. So when Gamard stepped up and did his thing the Elf Ranger could not be happier as he watched the foul creatures scamper back to their hiding places.

“Foul creatures! By the Sky-Light of purity, the Heavenly Orb, Father of Morning and Hallowed Circle I banish the darkness pulsing in your veins! I grant you rest eternal!”

Positioning his new backpack on his back, the two long knives hanging to each side, the Ranger watched as the others examined and searched the two bodies and their ‘camp’. Then once again Alôndas, as what has become for the party the norm, acts first without thinking of the possibilities. However this time with different results then expected.

“Dinner”

A flash of light and a loud “PAFFFT” causing Crow to quickly draw his two swords and before the party now were six new table settings at the table as well as a banquet of food. A roasted bird, carved and steaming on a platter. A roast of beef partially carved and surrounded by roasted potatoes, carrots and onions. Two baked fish with pink flesh (trout or salmon). Large mushrooms in a wine sauce in a serving bowl as well as green beans in a butter cream sauce. A salad available in a large silver bowl. Decanters of many different types of wine including, Crow saw with disbelief, the very hard to get Sylvari green wine and even rarer Khordaldrum Mushroom Wine. There are two small kegs with beer mugs next to them as well.

Two large soup tureens are present, one with a clear broth and the other a cream soup of some sort. Apple pie, pastries and assorted chocolate sweets are present. There is a cutting board with several different types of breads and spreads available as well. Crow being Crow was not one to think all this food was not something without a price and was going to have none of it. Staying quiet he watched as Mal tore off a small piece of the fish, ate it then sat down at the table as if a normal dinner. As the Elf Ranger watched the human devour the food on the table before him he waited for the Fighter to die or become poisoned. As Crow waited for some type of calamity to befall him he heard behind him Gamard begin to cast some type of spell over the food clearly checking for any poisons or evil upon the food.

If the Cleric pronounced the food clear of any such things he would wait a bit longer after most had already eaten something to eat last. Then if they were still alive and safe he too would eat from the food on the table.

With nothing really to do in the questioning of the bugbear and taking of its life. Crow tended to checking his new gear over once again to make sure it was usable. The decision to rest here was a welcome one to the Syl Ranger and as his watch was not the first was asleep in minutes.

However upon waking in the morning Crow realized he had not been woken for his watch and was almost immediately seeking the guard before him angrily. It was then, he like the rest, found out that they had all slept through the whole night and it was not by accident. The talk quickly turned to doorways once more.

“Perhaps we should take the one the bugbear's came through,” Alôndas offered, “we can perhaps assume that they took care of any dangers that may lurk in its destination.”

Crow nodded in quiet agreement though he really did not care which way they traveled. He had begun to suspect that where they were was one big maze for whoever this wizard was and he could quite possibly be watching them run it. In the end, live or die Crow thought, right now this small group was in the middle of a game.

Wolf heard the EVA hatches being blown and the sound of two groups of men entering the ship. From behind him he could hear the sounds of the battle in the cargo hold and the heavy reports of Hack n Slashes pistol fire. As he waited for the other 2 flash-bangs to go off he cursed Asher when nothing happened. Either the mercs had seen the wire, somewhat unlikely, or once again the flash-bangs Ash had acquired had malfunctioned.

This is bad, very bad Wolf thought to himself as his well planned defense, at least for the mechanic himself, fell apart. As there was nothing for it Wolf sighing took the last flash-bang from his pocket, popped the lever priming it. A quick look to get his bearings and the flash-bang was on its way to the closet group of mercs. The bright flash of light telling him it had gone off and Wolf was around the corner, the JC on full auto, and firing a full clip into the farthest group of mercs. The magazine ringing empty he quickly flipped the two mags inserting the full one quickly. Turning to the group he had flash-banged he again on full auto emptied the second mag into this group.

Wolf could only hope he had caused enough damage to both groups to hold them at bay for now. Reloading the third of his 4 magazines he readied himself to once more open fire.

Okkkk that is for sure not where I thought I was. As for the flash-bangs I would be somewhere where I could tell they went off so just after they went off I could start firing while the mercs are hopefully stunned. If there is no place for me to do that and be covered from the effects of the grens then I would not have set them up in the first place.

So the question Roger is, did I set them and did they go off or the mercs have not set them off. Or did I not set them and still have all three. My next posted action is based upon what I did with the flash-bangs.

After they go off is when I will open up on the ones affected. Not sure on the mao as you only have 1 EVA hatch listed but are both EVA hatches on the opposite of the bottleneck or is one on my side?

Destiny Galley Day Two of Journey. 9:15 am ST

As JC entered the galley area he took in the Simons, their main passenger Lilianna sitting by Catie, and Seth sitting by himself clearly annoyed. Grabbing a large cup of juice (Or whatever we have) he made his way over and sat down across from the bodyguard.

“I hope you don’t mind me saying this but you look a little, what’s the word, ahh maybe bored, possibly annoyed? You know we have an exercise room here if you’d like to get a work out in? I could spot you if you’d like. Traveling the Black can get boring at times so I use it to keep in shape and pass the time”

Seth smiled sincerely back at JC at his offer, “That would be most welcome, thank you. Unfortunately I must see to the security of ...”

Out of freaking nowhere it seemed, came Asante’s voice as she sat down across from the gunslinger. JC found himself almost on reflex popping the quick release on the Neo-tech Derringer hidden up his sleeve but stopped himself just in time.

“Oh Seth! The princess wants some girl alone time! Take a gorram hint” Asante said as she drank her coffee. She smiled at JC and asked, “Mind if I join you? I could use a good workout.”

JC took a hard appraising look at the women before him, making no secret of it to Asante, for several minutes without saying anything. Remembering what Jon had said about her recent attempt to seduce him and having had the feeling there was more to her then just a plain wedding planner he thought it might be a good idea to see how in shape she was. From her physique JC could maybe get an idea of just what she could be capable of just like he was trying to do with Seth. On top of that he could get lucky and get laid seeing just what other ‘skills’ she possessed.

Looking to Seth and seeing no real objection though no real warmth at the idea he turned back to her.

“Sure why not though we will be using some heavy weights, if at anytime you feel out of your depth feel free to let me know” JC could not help but smile mischievously as he put the challenge out there.

As the three moved down the hall the head of ship security could tell that the two travelers did not really like each other by the distance they kept between them and the glance they gave each other’s back. A quick stop at JC’s room to remove the hidden derringer, no need for Seth or Asante to know he carried it. A quick change into a set of workout shorts and shirt, allowing the wedding planner a few choice views of his upper and lower body through a now partly opened door and it was off to the exercise room.

Reaching the exercise room JC played the gentleman and allowed Asante to enter first. Within minutes Seth took off his shirt to reveal a white under-vest beneath took off the gun from his side to place it on a shelf nearby. JC watched as he began putting the heaviest weights onto the bar. Then his attention was captured by Asante as she stripped off her business jacket and trousers to reveal a black Lycra mesh body suit underneath.

“Is this okay gentlemen or should I go change?”

“No I think that will do” JC replied as he loosened up, once again smiling his approval of the ‘Wedding Planners’ body. As they started to work out, the weights heavier with each cycle, JC attempted to engage both in conversation.

“So tell me Asante what you got planned for the Ladies wedding? Anything special or unique?

(Assume some type of answer)

“Ok that’s different and the after wedding reception?”

(Again assuming something)

“So is this the first time you have worked with Seth here?”

“Seth if I may ask, how long you been running sec for Lilianna?

(Gonna leave it here in case they ask questions I would assume about me. Looking forward to a few good convo posts)>/I>

Crow, as he quietly watched Dudley and Wembly pull Gamard out of the pool, had also applied a bandage to his wound to help stop the bleeding. In minutes the Khord is up on his feet sputtering water out of mouth and eyes. Then just as quickly Crow watched as Gamard healed himself took a look at him and surprisingly approached.

“Here, let me shine Solanis’ blessing on your wounds.”

For a moment the Ranger said nothing, having not been the most social of companions to this point, he was honestly surprised at the Khords willingness to part with such a valuable spell. Smiling Crow was nonetheless thankful for the offer.

“Yes thank you, Gamard, it is appreciated.” A hand held out to Gamard’s Crow shock the Khords hand as he was healed fully of the wound. Then wanting no part of any torture of the bugbear sat back and awaited the word to move from this room..........

With his three set flash bangs gone Wolf had only three left to him. Moving quickly to the bottleneck between the EVA hatch and the interior he quickly set up two of the three Flashbangs there keeping the third and last one with him. Knowing that time would be in short supply in a firefight Wolf took two of the four clips and using tape affixed them so that the open ends were opposite. With one clip in the rifle the other clip would be ready to quickly be flipped over and inserted into the assault rifles chamber, thus saving valuable reloading time.

With the JC assault weapon ready he set himself up with a clear line of fire and a usable pattern of retreat. With Slash and Hack holding the cargo bay, and now Wolf’s path of retreat he could only hope that luck would be his lady tonight.

Now it was a quick waiting game as the sounds of heavy booted feet rapidly headed the mechanics way.

OOC: I hope I have enough time to do what I posted but most likely not

For JC the next two days were a combination of cleaning his guns, working his metal arm with Grace and Angela and trying to talk to Seth as suggested by Tess. However though it had not really been stated, one way or the other, to stay near or away. The gunfighter when not doing other needed things always seemed to find himself to be around the wedding planner and so he attempted conversation with her. Successful or not still he kept being around, if nothing else then to keep her away from the captain.

The battle was over, the Bugbear creatures dead, yet Gamard one of the parties Cleric’s was possibly dead and Crow himself was hurt.

Not a good outcome in any type of fight. Moving as best he could, one hand applying pressure to his wound, he made his way to the slowly red colored pool to offer any aid he could.

Looking at your map compared to the one in the character section I see I totally misunderstood the interior of the ship and the distances between the EVA hatch and cargo bay.
At this point it looks like the EVA hatch is rt up the stairs from we are in the cargo bay?

Roger I would have set the flash-bangs in the best way to cover our retreat from the cargo bay to the EVA hatch as it looked on the other map. With the EVA actually that close I have no clue. I would have in all honesty not taken as many if I had seen this map first.

Tann - Can you give me an idea of where you'd like Wolf to be beyond "hopefully out of sight". You got people on the roof so they can access through the shuttle bay doors the easiest, or use the upper EVA entrance by the kitchen. So .. Catwalk egress to the shuttles, maybe a few stairs down so if they blow the doors you won't be in the way? See picture below

Ok I had Hack and Slash on both sides of the upper ledge behind as best of a barracade as we could create for each of them.
Until the alert of Mercs on the roof I would have been on the lower center ledge. Now I am at whichever of the farthest flashbangs that did not go off to give me a way to fight and retreat.

Also don't forget the two suits of armor set up to look as if another pair of defenders. They should due to them being low on the cargo bay the first 'enemy' the mercs should see as the enter the hold.

The corvette did not stop and as it passed over Rocinante eleven more jumped out. The heavy impact of men in boots and armour clattered in the roof of the ship and echoed within. “We’ve got company Wolf!” John called out sardonically.

Having heard the echo of such himself Johns warning was already useless as Wolf had begun to move before hand at the first sound of the boots.

“Wolf… Wolf…Tess got the Cargo Lifter but she went down too… She knocked into ASREV as she fell. They both crash landed…..You got a couple hand full of Mercs on the hull and couple hand full more on the ground outside… we’ll do what we can” Though he already assumed that he was still great full for the warning.

“Hack, Slash hold the cargo area I’ll try to hold the rest of the ship” Moving fast, as fast as the mechanic could, Wolf moved quickly back to his first still in tact flash bang and connected it. Taking a position out of sight he waited for the company from the roof.

(Ok hopefully out of sight and ready with the JC)

“I’m going to need you folks to give me some real good reasons why we should get mixed up deeper in this mess. If this rich girl don’t want to marry this fella, well that ain’t our business, our business is to deliver her safe and sound. We get paid when she steps foot on the liner. Subject: Its Longer then 3-4 seconds

the 3-4 secs I believe your thinking of is the count of how long till you throw it.

They taught my training platoon, at least what I remember, that once you pull the pin and pop the handle you count
1 thousand 1
1 thousand 2
1 thousand 3

And then you threw it. Flight time included I believe it was 20-30 second. However I may very well may be wrong on the 'fuse' time as it has been quite some time and a brain surgery later.

Here is what I found on wiki........

Once the soldier throws the grenade, the safety lever releases, the striker throws the safety lever away from the grenade body as it rotates to detonate the primer. The primer explodes and ignites the fuse (sometimes called the delay element). The fuse burns down to the detonator, which explodes the main charge.

That whole process takes easily longer then 3-4 seconds weather it takes 30 that I am unsure of.

Subject: Roger sorry

On this as an ex soldier I have to disagree.

A grenade is designed that if it falls and lands on a hard service it will not go off. Unless the pin is pulled by roughly two pounds of pressure releasing the handle which then causes a reaction that after 30 seconds will cause the grenade to explode. Those 30 seconds gives the person pulling the pin enough time to throw it. See the pic below.

As to rigging it that's relevantly easy also you just take a small thin metal wire, connect it to the grenade, and place the grenade and wire, the wire pulled very tight, at roughly ankle lvl. Low enough not to be readily seen yet high enough to cause the person tripping the wire to pull the pin with his body weight. 30 seconds later, boom. In this regard per my post the metal wire had yet to be attached to the pin so in Reality the grenades would not have fallen far enough or had their pins pulled. Plus they were low enough that the impact from dropping would have not been very much.

As for facing you just place the fat part opposite the pin and handle facing the general direction you want the blast to go. With a flash bang it explodes like a fireball in all directions so facing is not a problem. I seen kids do it better then some career soldiers. It’s not that hard.

Ok enough said lets move on. I'll try to get a post up by Sat once again but I have a lot going on so I maybe late so don't hate me if I am.

Ok Roger those 3 Flashbangs could not have gone off as all but 1 were unprimed. Here is the line from my post that specifies that.

With all six flash bangs positioned he only set the third to fire. The other five he would wire to blow as they passed.

The third Flash-Bang was set on the rear stairwell leading up from common area into the Aft Passageway.

Also they were taped to the wall with the pins facing out so the chances of them falling even with the shaking of the ship would have been very very slim.
