Exactly how long would it take to free the liquid hydrogen hose and point it at the 4 men and what is the reach of said liquid as a spray??

Newhouse, Beylix Outside Rocinante, 1:50 pm, Day Three

As Wolf twisted the sealant ring on the hose to turn on the vacuum pump he waited for the gauge to show a negative pressure, turning on the flow regulator for the liquid hydrogen, at first slowly because these old units had a tendency at times to spring leaks, and no one liked super cooled liquid gas in the face.

As the liquid slowly started to make its way into the ship before him his thoughts strayed back to the female Dock Master and her eyes.

Tzao gao! I did'nt even ask her, her name But then a cynical smile crossed his face as he realized it did not matter as he would not be staying long enough to investigate the possible promise in her smile.

"Hey!" Wolf heard quite loudly behind him, and turned to see 4 guys watching him all holding work tools in their hands. Judging from the fact that three were large and one small, Fenris knew what they were at once.

How things never change Here before the mechanic was the classic goon squad, the small guy the ‘Boss’, the three large guys his muscle but what did they want with him?, Wolf got his answer quickly.

"Hey you! You don't look like guild. Stacy knows better than to get non-guild workers. they tend to have, you know, accidents."

Oh, ze zhen shi ge kwai le de jing jun... So this was a guild/non-guild worker’s issue huh, maybe those ‘sick’ workers were not really that sick after all.

“Is that her name?, thanks, I had forgot to ask”

Wolf replied as he stood up making sure the 4, now to his front, could clearly see the 2 holstered machine pistols and the handle of the sawed off pump action on his back.

“Look gentlemen I’m no dockie, union or non-union. I’m just trying to get this ship fueled so I can get my ship fueled and get the hell off this rock, Dong ma?”............

Newhouse, Beylix Outside Rocinante, 1:40 pm, Day Three

Wolf was not happy, call him mad at the world, as he made his way out of the Rocinante’s cargo bay having listened to Wyatt say that Pearson was to be left alone.
The Mechanic knew that the Captain was wrong on this one but the Rocinante was his ship and on it his word was law.

However once back on Frisco things would be different and Wolf would deal with Pearson then. His mind in an angry place he looked around for someone to talk to but the dock area seemed almost deserted as there seemed to be very few dock workers around. As he continued to look he finally spotted a pair of legs jutting out of an intake valve manifold on an Elephant class ship not far from Rocinante. Making his way over he addressed the legs.

“Excuse me, where can I find the Dock Master?” Wolf called up to the pair of legs.

Within a minute a grease covered woman in workman's overalls and wearing a sweaty white t-shirt landed next to him. A scarf holding back her brown hair, Wolf was for a brief moment caught in emerald green eyes.

"Yeah yeah partner. I know. Listen - I got three workers out today 'cause they all ate steak at the Dew Drop but didn't ask steak of what. So I'm doing three jobs plus neglecting my own. Do you know how to operate a winch hose?"

She asked with a smile that Wolf found both sincere and mischievous at the same time.
Looking around at the almost vacant dock area, Wolf could once again see the truth of the ladies statement.

“Since birth” He answered smiling back at her.

“Cause I'se got as Fury 6000 ahead of you that takes liquid fuel. You fill'er up and then you'd be next on my list and I'd be eternally grateful."

Having nothing better to do and still somewhat mad at the world, and truth be told finding her smile and eyes interesting, thought why not.

“Ok sure no prob, where’s the hose?”.........

As Romo moved around the small farm house, carefully looking in through various windows, he got the feeling that the farm house was empty, which in and of itself was strange. With the barn the only structure left to investigate the Master Sgt knew to move there would put him out of line of sight from the others and that would not be a good idea.

Slowly moving back to a spot where he could be easily seen by McGuiness he gave the sign for the others to move forward to join him outside of the house. With that done he kept an eye on the barn and a hand on his 1911 as he awaited the arrival of the others..........

“Sgt Romo. Do I remember correctly that you speak German fluently? “

“Yes sir since birth”

“I want you to head out to that farm with as little equipment as possible, and see what you can learn. Lose your jacket. Tell them you’re a private in the German army and that you’ve wrecked your vehicle a little further and got lost. You’re looking for the castle. If the farm is clear, we will follow.”

“Ahh sir even without the jacket I’m not dressed as would a German private but they may not know that being out here and all so be ready to assault the house if needed.“

Romo quickly removed his weapons and other gear including his BDU jacket keeping only 1 .45 pistol tucked behind him with his shirt over it and a extra clip in his pocket.
As he started to move away towards the farm the Captain gave him 1 more piece of advice that being raised by German parents was perhaps a bit trite.

“Oh, and Sergeant, Don’t forget to greet them properly.”

“Yes sir I know the drill”

Romo found himself moving across a field towards a two level brick building, painted beige with a terrace on the south side with a number of chairs. The front of the terrace Romo could see as he got closer was open, but there were no people visible.

Strange an open door, yet no one around? The Master Sgt thought to himself.

Stepping up to the open door of the terrace he stopped and knocked on the doors siding

“Hallo, Hallo, ist gemand hier?”*

As Romo awaited an answer he continued to stand respectfully on the terrace, even taking a step back as to not seem too threatening to whoever would answer his call.....

(*Hello, Hello is anybody here?)

As the rest of the small 5 man unit gathered itself McGuinness moved into position to support Clements, however instead of the carbine he did so carrying his sniper rifle. Before Romo himself could say anything, McGuinness beat him to it.

"Sure thing Sarge.. though I wouldn't call my girl here a one shot wonder, she may be a bolt action but I can empty a five round clip in a three and a half inch grouping at six hundred yards, and in less then fifteen seconds I might add. Besides, that carbine would be more useful as a paperweight or a club then as a rifle considering that it has a bent firing pin.. falling out of a plane during a firefight is as hard on gear as it is on soldiers Sarge."

Now Romo was no fool having been in the army for many years more then the private standing before him and had witnessed all forms of lollygagging as it was called. As the carbine had been in working order when handed to McGuinness it was highly unlikely that it had all of a sudden become broken on its own.

“Hand me the weapon Private”

Once in his hands Romo proceeded to do a quick weapons check............

(OOC: Ok need a DM call on this, now though I’m not sure about a World War II carbine I do know from my time inservice that to get to a Assault Rifles firing pin it has to be somewhat disassembled. Now if the firing pin on the carbine is indeed ‘broken’ after it was initially checked out as ok then its clear to Romo that McGuinness did it himself.
However from the time I handed out the weapons till now I do not think he would have had the time to do so WITHOUT being seen as the time lag is only minutes from handing out the gear to marching.)

“We can still do this. There is no way we will see those Nazis succeed, ok? Let’s move. And keep it quiet. We may need our ears to pick up on approaching enemies. Sgt Romo will assign your positions.”

With the Captain leaving the order of march to him Romo set to work at once. Seeing that Clements had already semi-positioned himself as point Romo decided to leave him there with 1 exception.

“Ok listen up Clements your on point, but use the Thompson instead of your carbine as it has a better rate of fire. Spray and pray in the dark is better with a faster firing weapon. McGuinness your next and I want you carrying that carbine I gave you instead of your 1 shot snipe weapon. Captain your after him, then Stewart, and with the 2nd Thompson I’ll bring up the rear. That way we are covered front and back with faster firing weapons then the carbines or .45’s. Ready whenever you are Captain”..........

Newhouse, Beylix, Inside Rocinante’s Cargo Bay, 1.40 pm, Day Three

With his concerns about the “new Sheriff” relayed to the Captain, Fenris found himself at a loss of purpose. With nothing else to do then sit around and wait for Sam to return so they could get off this planet, he decided to find the port’s maintenance/refuel people and try to see if he could speed them up.

After all the faster off this rock, the faster he could get his first pay as crew............

As Maximus stood on the defensive, his shield covering Kilgim and his sword ready to slash at any dissected body part to come close enough, the dwarf completed his spell. Maximus watched as hands with weapons within the protection circle stopped moving and the few remaining attacking ones as they passed through the shield become inert and tumbled to the ground.

"FINE!" The girl sounding voice screamed in a tantrum, "BE THAT WAY!" Suddenly the bodies and body parts of the priests and hobgoblins were airborne above the party, then released from the magical threads to fall upon the big gladiator and the rest from the height of the ceiling.

His shield up to protect both himself and Kilgim, Maximus rode out the rain of body parts to stand ready to chase after their “female” adversary upon Arien‘s command.....

As Sgt Romo surveyed the recovered equipment he did a fast inventory in his head and started handing out the gear to the rest of the small unit

To Edintore he handed the extra M1911 and two clips for it, along with a second frag grenade and 2 clips for the Captains carbine. As an afterthought he also gave him the compass as he would know best where they needed to go.
To Brutal, seeing him with his normal issue carbine, he gave the 2nd Thompson and 1 of the 50 round drum’s for it along with another of the extra frag’s and 2 of the 6 K-Rations.

To McGuinness seeing him armed only with his sniper rifle and a .45 Romo handed him 1 of the two carbines, along with 3 clips for it, an extra clip for the Corporals .45 a frag and 2 of the 6 K-Rations
To Stewart he gave the two extra First Aid kits, 3 extra rifle clips for his carbine, the last 2 extra pistol clips and the musette bag to carry them.

Lastly to himself he took the 2nd carbine, the last 2 clips, the 2nd 50 round Thompson drum, the last frag and the last 2 K-rats.

With the handed out gear secured the Master Sgt waited only the Captains order to move out and to where.........

(OOC: Ok please add the gear to the characters Al. Also I noticed that Brutal does not have a listed inventory on the gear he currently has.
And what do Brutal and Stewart look like??)

Romo turned to Clements “You heard him Corporal lets get those chutes”

“You think we can still pull this mission off Sgt? I mean, there are only 5 of us and the Capt…. Well .. he doesn’t strike me as being the right man for the job.. you know what I mean.”

With Clements words spoken Romo stopped dead in his tracks and whirled on the corporal.

“I’ll have none of that Corporal, the Captain’s in charge and that’s it. If he says we continue the op, we continue the op and let me be clear on this you will follow his orders to the letter or you will deal with me. Trust me CORPORAL Clements you don’t want to go there with me. Now lets finish up so we can get gone from here as the Captain wants.”.................

It was just one of those things, Romo thought as the first of the ME-109’s strafed the transport, that again gave truth to the old saying ‘no plan survives contact with the enemy‘. Quickly moving from his position of Jump Master at the front of the string of parachute equiped men his voice was loud as he opened the aircraft’s side door.

“OUT! JUMP NOW!”

However before most of the men still alive could do so the pilot took the Douglas C-47 Dakota into a hard dive to get away from the attacking German aircraft and Sgt Romo found himself out the planes door..........

His main rip cord having not been rigged to be pulled once he was away and behind the C-47 he tried as best he could to gauge his position in the sky, and doing so then pulled his secondary rip cord and was happily jerked upward as the chute fully deployed. As he slowly drifted to the ground he watched as the transport took one last dive into the earth. Strangely enough the ME’s did not attempt to strife the few parachutes Romo could see floating to the ground, but turned and moved off into the night.

Once on the ground, after freeing himself from an unexpected tree, the Master Sgt found what he had been afraid of, Major Banks and most of the missions men were dead. As the survivors slowly gathered around Romo he took count...Of the officers only Captain Edintore was alive and now in command...Of the NCO’s, not including himself, Romo had at hand only Corporals Clements and Reid...Of the rest of the 20 man team only Private McGuinness was alive and they all were a little shaken up.

Only 5 men left of 20, a third of the missions men dead, in mere seconds due to a chance airborne attack.

The question now in Romo’s mind, as he checked that both his 45’s were still holstered and the Thompson sub gun was ok, was should they continue the mission. With only 5 men the job became both easier in some ways and harder in others. He was about to issue orders to collect and bury the chutes when the Captain beat him to it.

“We should move. I don’t want any Nazi’s to know we’re here though. Romo and Brutal, snatch those chutes from the trees. Doc and I will find some branches and leaves to cover them with. McGuiness, find a high tree to climb and find out what you can about our position. Let’s hurry, people!”

Romo turned to Clements “You heard him Corporal lets get those chutes”

Within only minutes he and Clements had all the chutes gathered, a few minutes more and the chutes were buried with scraps of wood and old leaves to cover the burial site.
Then following behind the Captain the 5 men moved out into the darkness the best course of action right now was to put as much distance between the crash and themselves before morning. Once daylight hit they could hold up and he and the Captain could discuss their next move.........
