Topic: Voyages of Rocinante - Serenity/Firefly RPG
Subject: Engine down part one

One minute everything was running smooth the next little things started going wrong. the main thing a drifting power fluctuation seemingly random. However as Wolf dug deeper, he could see a sort of pattern not normal to the running of the Rocinante engines. Having checked those same engines before lift off from Beylix, Wolf knew something was not right. However before he could determine the source of the power fluctuations, power suddenly died and the ship’s mechanic, wanna be gunslinger, was left in the darkness of the engine room.

The smell of fried machinery reached his nose and zeroing in on the biggest concentration he moved closer to the smell. Within moments emergency lighting was on and Wolf immediately started opening engine ports and found himself in front of the Trace Compression Block facing a clearly burnt out Grav Dampener and a melted Aft Alternator. Without those parts, Wolf knew there was no power and no steering.

“Ching-wah TSAO duh liou mahng”* Wolf exclaimed to himself. This was not right he had checked and double checked those parts along with the rest and they had been as good as any other part in the ship’s engines. For them to fail in such a way spoke to the experienced mechanic of some type of sabotage. Knowing Wyatt would be calling any minute he quickly moved to the comm. unit to let him know what was going on with his ship and just then the Captain did indeed call ship wide.

"Someone mind telling me what's going on?"

“Captain its Fenris, we’ve lost the Grav Dampener and Aft Alternator both are down, but I think repairable, but its gonna take time.”

(Assuming some interaction here that can be back posted to as needed)

As Wolf signed off from the Captain he turned to find the uncle of Wyatt’s dead wife standing behind him looking into the same Trace Compression Block as he himself had earlier.

“Not good....I take it you have spares?” Though the older gentleman’s question was hopeful, Wolf still caught a hint of possible denial in the tone of it.

“Not for the Aft Alternator no sir Mr. Bowmen. As for the Grav Dampener I’ll have to check ship’s supply, I’m headed there now, then I need to suit up and check the outside of the ship. I could use the help to carry it or any other parts if we do have them and to watch my back when I go outside the ship....”

(OOC: Ok I stopped here as I’m not sure if we have said extra parts though in all honesty Wolf would know what’s on board right? If needed I can edit the post with more RP once, Al, you let me know yes or no)

Ok I went ahead and edited the post to reflect added information I got in PM from Alacrity today and to correct my boo boo as to YeOlde's character

Subject: Excellent Ending!!

Yeah I have to say for someone who before the series aired on AMC had never heard of the "Walking Dead' I was very, very impressed. The show has now worked it's way into becoming my 2nd favorite show behind FX's Sons of Anarchy.

Also as someone who has worked with Grenades, high explosives and standard army issue gear I too found myself yelling at the TV for Rick to drop the damn grenade and get his ass to cover . As for what Renner said I have to agree with ya Eol I think he told Rick his wife is with child, gonna make for some interesting interaction next season.

Looking forward to next years season two.

Well as far as Wolf is concerned he is almost as new to the crew as Andrew/YeOlde so he really has no home for his 'mail' so to speak other then the planet where he was first intro'd on.
His home and post office seeing as how he is never going back to said planet other then maybe to visit is the ship, its crew and its comm suite. However I'm not adverse to the idea of creating one at this space station.

Also any word from Van as to open or closed comm, I have a post in mind if she broadcast ship wide.

Subject: A Lady in distress, is she Friend or Foe?

"Nothing is wrong citizen!"

As Romo watched the cabin’s door opened and a man dressed in the uniform of a German officer stepped out onto the porch. Before the Master Sgt could say anything or Clements move to subdue the man, a crossbow bolt appeared in the man’s neck. He coughed ounce, a look of shocked realization on his face as he fell to the ground at Corporal Clements feet, clearly no longer breathing.

Before Romo could act, Clements was speaking through the door to someone inside the cabin, by his words clearly the woman seen with the German officer, however the words were in English.

“Hold it Fraulein.”

Not knowing if said female spoke that Romo knew he was needed inside to avoid a possible misreading of the situation by her. Moving past Clements Romo entered the cabin to see a blond women paused in her attempt to reload a hunting crossbow. Holding up his hand, his open palm facing her, he quickly spoke to her in her own language.

“Liebes, Fraulein, bleiben Sie ruhig, wir sind nicht ihre Feinde, sondern ihre freunde.”*

Hoping she would do as he asked he waited, his arm raised in a non threating manner, on a reply or a continued action.

(*Translation: “Please Lady stay calm we are not your enemy, perhaps even friends.”)

PLAYER EDIT: I went ahead and corrected my post to reflect that Clements HAD not entered the cabin's interior.

Maximus deep into his fighting mentality and so concentrated on the still active spider headed his way did not see Kilgim heal Dapple to full health. His first realization of such was just after he had dodged the second spider’s attack and with help from Arien and Adrian delivered the death blow.

Then moving past him Dapple threw a pair of daggers at the wounded spider finishing it off. It was here that Maximus in turn noticed that Adrien was down, clearly having been hit by the wounded spider’s attack.

“Kilgim, Adrian’s down!!”

Moving to the Mage’s side Maximus tried to see if there was anything he could do................

(OOC: Ok Alacrity once again it seems that I have lost Maximus’s character sheet. All I can say is after the last Infection of my computer the file holding all my Inn characters is gone. Would you please be kind enough to once more send me a copy. Thanks)

Newhouse, Beylix Maintenance Office, 2:30-3:45 pm, Day Three

Two people alone, no thoughts other then on each other, their bodies moving together like a finely tuned machine, sounds of pleasure coming from both their throats. With a last gasp of pleasure from each, both reached the sought after goal and collapsed into the others arms, both of their bodies covered in sweat.

After a few moments of rest Wolf got to his feet to recover his hastily discarded clothes, dressing slowly he could not help but continue to look at Stacie’s still naked body as she laid upon the office‘s rug. Coming up to a semi standing position she leaned back against her desk and allowed Wolf the better view, a hint of mischief still in her eyes.

“So I guess its time to get back to your ship”

“Yeah the Captain’s probably wondering where I am.”

"You gonna be back this way any time soon”

“I’m not sure, we have a few paying runs we need to finish up. All depends on what jobs the Cap’n takes on”

She seemed to pause then moving to her desk she opened a top draw and took out a digital camera and handed it to him

“I want to give you something to remember me by and hopefully they will bring you back this way someday.”

The next 15 minutes found Wolf taking both nude and clothed shots of Stacy as she posed in different positions. Removing the camera’s data pack and her com number she handed both to Wolf as she grabbed him for a last long kiss.

“Stay safe Fenris”

“You too Stacy, if you need me you have the Rocinante’s call number, don’t hesitate to use it”

Fully dressed with data pack in hand Wolf walked out of the office and headed back to the ship. By chance as he did so he almost surged into the one Stacy had called “Biggs” and his two goons. Blocking the man’s way Wolf looked him straight in the eyes to let him know his next words were deadly serious.

“Nice to see you again Biggs. That’s right I know who you are now so word of advice, if anything happens to Miss Tam, no matter if you do it or not, I’ll find my way back here and break every bone in your body and that will be just for starters. My suggestion is you come to terms with her and make sure she stay’s safe or you will see me again”

With his words said Wolf did not wait for a reply but continued on his way to the Rociante.

Breaking Atmo, Beylix, 4:00 pm Day Three

He arrived through the cargo bay door and found that only a few minutes remained before the fuelling ended. Making straight for the engine room he gave a quick once over to make sure everything seemed ok.

With clearance given Sam had Rocinante in the air like the proverbial bat out of hell. Wolf standing by in the engine room continues to watch and double check as the engines run smooth, the ship easily breaking from the planets atmosphere without a hitch.

Soon afterwards, as Sam plots a course and pushes the engine into full burn, Wolf fingers the data pack in his hand and says a silent goodbye to Stacy, a brief encounter, but one sure to be remembered.

As always, there is a brief moment of silence, and then the sound, so much like a horse in full gallop, travels across Rocinante from stern to bow. Back into the black once more..............

Seeing as how I have never read these graphic comics you both speak of and only know The Walking Dead from the past two episodes I have now seen I think its awesome. As I am normally not a big fan of horror I must say I am hooked on this show and am 100% glad I have not read the comic's as each episode is new too me so there!!

I just can't wait to see what happens when Rick finds out about his Wife and old partner sleeping together should be a blast .

As Clements and he moved forward it was not long before they both could see that the women’s scream had come from a cabin up ahead. The Master Sgt could see that it was a simple cabin, probably with a kitchen, one central room and a bedroom or two, with a shed on the side and supported above the ground on concrete blocks. Light came from an illuminated window to the left side of the entrance. Putting up his hand clutched in a fist he called everyone to a stop.

Knowing that McGuiness was following Romo started to look for a good spot for the sniper to set up but saw that McGuiness had already beaten him to the punch.

“Sie können alle schreien möchten Fräulein. In der Tat Ich hoffe, dass Sie das tun, es wird abends noch interessanter. Aber niemand kann dich hören hier.”

Suddenly a loud male voice was easily heard coming from the open window, speaking in German and the Master Sgt know the women Inside was in trouble. However before he could turn to Clements and issue any orders, Reid decided to disregard his order to stop and common sense and moved towards the two of them.

"That don’t sound like any g**d*** way to treat a lady.”

“As you were Corporal.” Clements whispered back "Be patient.. we will handle it.”

Reid then glared at him and again whispered a reply.

"That'll work real smooth, why not just lob in a hand grenade. Sarge send him to cover the back and lets go see how many there are."

Romo knowing on a clear quiet night like this how easily whispers could be heard drew his flat open palm across his throat to get the two of them to shut up. Then without saying a word his motioned to Reid to back off and rejoin the Captain. Pointing to Clements and the shotgun he again signed for the Corporal to quietly take position on the opposite side of the cabin’s door and out of McGuiness‘s line of fire. Next he gained McGuiness attention and signed for him to put his rifle sights on the door in case the sniper had not already done so.

Then as he waited for Brutal to gain position he quickly took off his BDU top and all military gear but his undershirt and pants. Taking one of his two .45 pistols he placed it behind his back, tousled up his hair as much as he could and as he had at the farm house walked up to the cabin’s door and knocked loudly.

“Hallo, Ich hoere a yemand schreiim, was ist los?”*

His question asked he took two steps back to clear the sights of McGuiness’s rifle giving him a clear shot, and waited to see who would answer the door.

(*Translation: Hallo I heard a women scream what is wrong??)
